In terms of film and books...
Great and great.
Good and bad.
OK.
Lousy movie, good book.
Great movie, awesome book.
Uhm... it sure was... a movie. And a book, too. I guess.
Great book. 'Nuff said.
Also a good book.
Good book and movie! Way to throw the curve.

First of all, it's Crichton. Crichton. Pronounced like Chrighton, yes, but it's not spelled with a 'g' but rather with a 'c'. Also, on a similar note, Irony is tasty, like candy.
Simply book, he's a great author. His books are great, and the level of research he puts into the topics they are covering is sometimes staggering. I mean, look at the bibliography in Timeline. Plus, the stories always draw me in. It's just a shame that a lot of the movie adaptations suck. Like the Lost World. I'm pretty sure they didn't even read the book for that one.
The Great Train Robbery, however, was an enjoyable film. Then again, Sean Connery makes anything awesome.
Also, Michael Crichton brought us one damn good TV series, ER. He is a doctor too, you know.

Crichton is one of my favorite authors mostly due to the detail he puts into his work. Out of his novels, Sphere and Jurrasic Park have to be my favorites with Eaters of the Dead a close third.
And of course ER is great.

Jurassic, by the way. Since I saw that misspelled twice.
Yeah, I enjoy Crichton too. Great Train Robbery as well as Eaters of the Dead started out immensely boring, but picked up pace before long and ended up being excellent books. The most recent of his which I read was timeline which indeed was a very well written work.

I've read Timeline, Sphere, and Eaters of the Dead.
And I never shut up about Eaters of the Dead.
Ever.
I love that book, and the movie.
I am an aficianado of all things ancient and Scandinavian, so that book was fantastic for me.
It was written well enough that I almost could forget it was fiction.
If I ever write a book, I only hope that I can hold a candle to Eaters of the Dead.

I have now startes reading "A Case of Need"
It's very good, and picks up very quickly, not like prey or EotD that dragged on for 7 chapters until something interesting happened...still they were good books.
In my opinion; The andromeda strain's ending... SUCKED! it just kinda ended... no action... no scarry part, no rush to save earth, no climax to the book... it just kinda ended... otherwise, I love everything of his i've read...
