The simulation was fully underway. The newly formed and re-outfitted Alpha Phalanxe were pitted against a Full Steel Battalion, which was outiftted with a full air contingent, as well as two full mech brigades. As the pilots were just starting to get used to their new controls, bombers streaked over head, dropping their deadly payload. As the bombs came crashing down, scattering dirt and shrapnel everywhere, Radchenko triggers the overboost on his mech, pulling out his small-arms and unleashing his arm-blades. He covers the distance in a few moments' time and immediatly lashes out with the blades, creating chaos and confusion in the enemy ranks. His voice rings out over the com: "All units outfitted with missles fire a barrage now, aim for their heavier attackers before they can get into firing position. All units not equiped with missles, snipers gain the high ground ASAP, all skirmishers, engage at will."

Moving steadily forward, Milo let loose a volley of missiles from each shoulder. "Hmm... I think I like this setup," he said to himself as he activated his energy shield and deflected a few laser bolts. "Wish I could do something about those bombers, though..."

"Roger that." Zed said as he drove his mech up onto a nearby hill. From his vantage point, he had a clear view of pretty much everything in the battlefield. But before the enemy had a chance to detect him, he activated a cloaking device and a radar jammer. "Guys if you radar is acting funny, change frequencies." Zed says over the comm as he prepares to start taking out bombers. As zed zooms in with his nwe aiming mechanisim, the computer automatically brings up an interior picture of the bomber, showing weakpoints as in fuel storage and bomb storage. Taking careful aim, Zed shot down one through the bomb storage and watched as it lit up the sky.

The exploding bomber took another one with it before crashing into the ground, spraying live amoo all over the battlefield.

John fired on a bomber as he fired the after burners the simulator didn't simulate the g-forces acurately so he found himself fighting a bit harder than normal to control his mech.
"the Fallen angel would never handle this badly." he said to himself. As he fought the stick to make a sharp turn and come up on a bomber from behind.

Jared manuvered Knight towards the enemy lines. The Russians were already well into the attack.
A heavy was about into it's firing position. Jared ripped into it with his PPC at range. The shot hit, but to a heavy mech, it wasn't much.
Time to show the ruskies the fun stuff. he thought to himself.
Bringing his arm around, he pointed his mace at the lumbering mech. A bolt of energy that looked exactly like lightning jumped the gap between Knight and the heavy mech. Jared smiled as he saw it struck the right arm, frying all the circuts on that part of the mech, rendering it useless.
As he closed in more, he opened up with his SRMS...but all this was just for distraction. Knight's true role was that of a melee-fighter, and Jared was about to prove it.
Bringing his mace around, he slammed it into the knee-joint of the larger mech. With a simulated screech of metal, the leg buckled. The heavy mech fell to one "knee", but could still bring it's weapons to bear. Jared took a volley of SRMs, but Knight's armor was about to shrug it off, only recieving minor damage according to the damage display. Jared struck with the mace again, savaging the left arm this time. As he struck, a blade came out of his other wirst. Jared swung this arm, cutting into the other leg. While it didn't cut all the way through, it did enough. The leg screamed as the metal failed, and the mech went down. Just to make sure, Jared swung his mace one final time, smashing the simulated cockpit.

Alise took a midline position, facing the enemy forces. An incoming battalion of combined forces lay downfield of her, tanks rolling over rough terrain, mechs following, supporting mechanized units on their flanks.
Her Warhawk took a step back and fell into a crouch. Individual hand actuators pulled each of the four CaPPCs onto a single incoming heavy which Alise had lined up in her HUD's reticle.
She flicked a toggle on her joystick.
"Group Fire, Disabled. Chain Fire, Engaged." The computer responded.
*VwrrCHEECH!* Resounded the deep, electric report of the first PPC. The other three followed in perfect stagger, finishing with the first, and continuing a deadly stream of the most devestating energy weapons available.
The hostile heavy stood no chance. It fell to the fourth shot in it's torso, reactor exploding and taking it's supporting tanks with it before the cycle of PPC fire could even repeat itself. The Warhawk's heat signature spiked a few hundred kelvin from the salvo, but the Double Heatsinks kept it mostly under control. The engine cooling vanes deployed behind, glowing a faint purple, seemingly shrouding the Warhawk in a halo of light.
A supressing return fire of Extended range medium lasers glanced the Warhawk's right arm, bouncing harmlessly off the armor's beam-reflective coating.

Fallen angel swept a laser blast across the bomber. He spun and brought up his energy shield to block several rounds of machinegun fire from a fighter. John pulled the trigger on his vulcan and returned fire as he charged the fighter.

"Let's try this Shiva." Zed switched his ammo into a EMP wave shot, and aimed at another bomber. After a little careful aim, he fired the blast and the shot hit dead on. Then, instead of exploding, an EMP electric wave bursted out of the bomber and hit a few nearby bombers before disappearing. Zed had an offly wicked smile as he watched the bombers slam into the ground, helpless due to the fact none of their safety or stabalizing equipment would respond.

Then, a gravity cannon round from the enemy flanks, Zwei had disengaged early and opted to create a flank tactics, then a diversion tactic when the enemy began returning fire. Zwei had to admit that the Ein took some getting used to, but so did the Greased Lightning when she first piloted that mech. It took some time, but less than Zwei hoped to position Ein in a position to launch a surprise attack on the enemy's right flank, and the gravity rifle proved to be something of a step up from the PPC.

Suddenly, a radar blip appears on the display of his mech. Radchenko glances out the side of his mech and finds himself the target of well over 20 missles. He flips on his boosters and accelerates to mach 1 in a matter of seconds. He shoots through the missles, weaving and dodging, then leaps. He lands on a missle and immediatly leaps again to land in front of the Super heavy mehc standing in frotn of him.
"Super heavy mech: A huge machine meant to carry enough armament to destroy a battalion before it empties its entire payload.
Weak points: none
Weaknesses:none
imperfections in armor: none" The computer continues ot rattle off information at Radchenko as he dodges laser blasts, a heavy bastard sword, and SRMs while constantly searching for a vulnerable point of some kind. His soldier's instincts take over adn he dives between the massive mech's legs, using an entire clip on the groin area of the mech. Radchenko stands as the mech turns, then crumples as its legs give out. Radchenko delivers the killing blow with his arm mounted blades before racing back to join the battle.

Milo watched as Radchenko toppled a massively powerful heavy mech. "Showoff. Oh well, time to try this one out," he said as he activated the energy lance on his mech's right arm. "Mech knight!" he shouted, and began fighting as such with his spear and shield. It proved effective, taking down any enemy that came within reach.

"Little help guys." John said as a squadron if fighters chased him down.

"Acknoleged, Angel." Alise replied, uncrouching her Warhawk and turning to face the fighters assailing him. 5 yellow boxes whirled and blinked onto the fighters and nearly immediately turned red, a low, long tone sounding out from the cockpit instruments.
Alise flicked off the missle saftey, and pressed the launch button.
10 CStreak-LRMs lauched from the Warhawk's back-mounted rack, the salvo splitting off into pairs, each pair heading for a seperate fighter. The fighters broke off in all directions, dropping flares and chaff to attempt to fool the missles. Unfortunately for them, Clan Streak-class missles are image-guidance and not so easily fooled.
Each missle targeted a seperate part of each fighter's fuselage, impacting and exploding into a fantastic starburst-display of exploding fighters. The entire squadron fragmented and slowly spiraled down to earth.
"Targets dead." Alise replied cooly over the comm system.

What Zwei didn't match in power like Radchenko or in quick and accurate target acquistion like Alise, she more than made up for covert attacks at the enemy's weak points. The longer time acquired to access weaknesses forced Zwei to work with a little manual targeting, but she was born and bred for mech piloting. It was guesswork at worst and most mechs were reduced to nothing but targeting the key areas. Arm weapons, missile racks, knee joints, scanner systems, and cockpits, and no mech could hide them all, especially the weapons. Zwei's attacks left more mechs disabled instead of destroyed, sitting ducks for the rest of the team to pick off or capture at their leisure.

Jared was doing his best to keep up with the Russians.
And, if you asked him, he was doing a pretty good job of it.
His mace ripped the arm off a light mech that had charged him. A salvo of SRMs knocked the mech back long enough for Knight to bring the mace back around and smash through the torso of the mech. The simulated pilot ejected, and Jared was more than happy to let it go.
The screech of a PPC was Jared's only warning before his mech swayed under the impact. A light mech fired at him at range, armed with 2 PPCs. Jared dodged the next shot, then returned fire with his own PPC while charging. As he closed, the mech opened up with twin machinguns. The bullets did almost no real damage, Jared decided not to take any chances. With a long-range blast from his mace, the ammo packs on the light mech exploded. Jared switched over to his SRMs and took careful aim.
out of a volley of 12, only 4 of the missiles entered the now armorless area of the mech. It but was enough. The missiles mericlessly vaporized essential systems, including the ejection system, leaving the simulated pilot to his fate as the mech overheated and exploded.
