Chimera Unit
Started in 1943, ended in 1945, restarted in 2004.
A highly covert strike force made up of DRI-approved mythical monsters (Mythos). Members must have been monitored for a minimum of three years and must be approved by the DRI board. Afterward they are assigned to a supervisor who acts as commanding officer.
Chimera Unit’s main task is to undertake any job a regular DRI task force is unable or unwilling to do. In return, DRI will provide off-site housing, human covers, glammers if necessary, and monetary payment.
Since the history of former Chimera Units has been spotty at best, DRI is closely monitoring the current Unit and reserves the right to void current and future operations if deemed unneeded. The Chimera Unit is not absolved from traditional DRI clauses, and will not be acknowledged if killed on the field or captured.

The building was not finished but was amazingly elaborate in initial design, the entrance room alone a mini-cathedral. The sign outside had stated that Wolfram & Hart wanted to apologize for their dust while they set up their new offices.
Artemis wasn’t really paying attention as a tooth filled mouth was rapidly closing in on his fleshy outer body. He kicked the torso it was attached to away and balled his fist, releasing the spring that held the wooden stake back, unleashing the weapon from his arm. Meanwhile the vamp had decided to close in and released a punch that got the incubus in the jaw, sending him spinning around. He brought his arms up and blocked a downward blow then kicked the undead’s leg in, sending him to one knee. As his stake arm reached back the vampire jumped forward, wrapping his arms around Artemis’s neck to pull himself upward, teeth outstretched.
Damn new blood. Artemis laughed and delivered the stake into the vampire’s heart and quickly withdrew it. The vampire’s arms literally crumbled away and all that was left behind were his clothes. You go for the neck when you’ve won, not at the bottom.
He looked up at the vampire nest and his group and the chaotic battlefield. The earpiece in his ear crackled to life and a female voice came to life. “How is everyone?”
Artemis looked up and yelled out “Charisma wants to know how everyone is doing.”

There was a chair-ratting thud, and a flash of flame. Nada looked down at the vaguely human-shaped patch of dust on the ground, with his foot resting roughly where the head would be located. His boots, heavy-duty workboots that could stand up to his unusual weight, smoked a little bit from the heat, and one of his laced burned merrily away.

His wrought-iron face shifting slightly into a faint smile, he looked up. "I'm cool," he said in his deep bass voice. His lips barely seemed to move, and it was true that they almost didn't. Even he didn't know EXACTLY how he was able to talk, what with no lungs or vocal cords, but it was just one more mystery in his decidedly unusual life.

With a sound like a big brass bell being hit by a bird in flight, Nada looked behind him at the vampire that was nursing a broken foot. His smile shifting to a smirk, he raised his solid iron leg again...

Bo snorted at Artemis' comment.

"Oh, I'm just dandy!" Bo muttered as he swung his axe again. The vamp turned to ash as the magically sharped blade seperated it's head from it's body. Before he had a chance to recover from his swing, a pair of vampires charged him. One did a shoulder tackle, knocked the off-balance minotaur to the ground, and knocking the axe from his hands. The second jumped up to try some sort of move it probably saw on a pro-wrestling show as a human.

Bo was not impressed by it at all.

As the vamp came down to land it's flashy blow, Bo brought his knees to his chest, hit hooves lifted upwards. The vampire, expecting to land on relatively soft flesh, let out a grunt of pain as it instead landed on rock-hard hooves. Kicking with all his might, Bo launched the vampire across the room, and quickly stood. The second vampire punched Bo in the side. Bo grunted in pain.

"Hey! No kidney shots!" Bo said as he backhanded the vampire in the head. The monster slid backwards a few feet, but managed to keep it's balance.

"Great. I get stuck with the one which isn't a newbie." Bo muttered to himself. Bo dived for his axe, but the vamp was faster, and kicked it away, then kicked at Bo. Bo raised his armed and blocked, and brought his fist around in another backhand, which the vampire blocked. As the vamp blocked, Bo grabbed is oppenet's arm and did an over-the-shoulder thrown. The vampire landed hard, and Bo put his hoof on it's chest before it could recover. Pulled his sawed-off shotgun from it's holster, Bo aimed it at the vampire's heart. "Fool!" The vampire spat. "You can't kill us like that."

Bo nodded. "You know, you're right. It's not made out of wood. But, at this range," Bo said, readjusting his aim, "It should be enough to blow your head clean off."

Bo pulled the trigger, and the vampire ashed.

"Hey? Whaddaya know? It was enough to blow his head of-ow!" Bo yelled as the vampire he had kicked across the room jumped kicked him from behind. Bo stumbled forward, and turned, his eyes turning red. "Right. You're dead...again. Still. Whatever."

With a roar, Bo charged the vampire.

As the vampire came in close, a few quck slashes with the knives in hand ended the creature's life. "It's hard for a vampire to live without a heart or head. Yo, I'm fine." Another vampire came in to get revenge, slashing out with its claws, only to get them removed with another slash then blinded due to both knives being driven into it's eyes. "Bloody hell, how long is this gonna take?" Razma said as he drove a knife into the creature's heart and took the other and decapitated it.

"Well enough for this kind of day." he said with his toothy dragonic smile coming out of the sky, he looked to a vampire that tried to charge him and grabbed his head as it burned into ash as the head burst into fire in his hands. He blew his flames at another simply scorching it majorly as it went down in a blaze of hellfire as well, "How useless these fools are."

A trio of vampires had holded themselves in a locked room, hoping to escape the slaughter of their comrades. Unluckily for them, A rhino burst through the door sending bits of wood everywhere, and impaled an unlucky vamp through the chest. The rhino jerked his head, sending the vamp flying into a wall. The rhino glowed a light blue, and was now a heavily built man. Another Vamp attacked and the man gave him a heavy punch to the face. Another came, and he quckly grabbed a piece of the broken door and stabbed him through the heart, reducing him to ashes. When the third came swinging with a blade, the man changed into a small child, allowing him to avoid the blade. The child became a thin, agile woman and sprung a handstand, booting the vampire in the face. Grabbing the piece of the door, she backflipped onto the first vampire who had just picked himself up and ended him. The third, realizing his oncoming demise, attempted to run past her to freedom. She transformed into 18 year old boy, Chris Valence, and he pulled out a gun from his pouch. The blood sucker had six well shot bullets sever off his head. "I'm A-Okay guys. The day these critters give me trouble will be the day I pay taxes."

Two vampires leap at Gamut. He shoots one in midair with a firey bolt from his crossbow, disentigrating it, just before the other makes contact. The two bodies fly backwards and slide on the ground, the vampire on top. The creature lifts up his hand to punch Gamut, but he grabs his undead hand and scratches the vampires face with the claws on his left hand. The vampire stumbles backwards holding his face, as Gamut quickly gets up and pulls out his sword. Almost before he had even pulled it out it was aflame. He dashes at the vampire and slices his head clear off, the rest of his body disentigrating.
"I'm doing just fine, thank you very much!" He yells back to Artemis

Fei said nothing. No words were necessary when killing vampires.

A vampire charged her, assuming from her dress and staff she'd be easy prey. Concentrating on the end of her staff, she assumed an attack position and waited. A little closer...closer...now. The end of the staff reformed into a point just as the vampire reached her, and she watched as it impaled itself on the staff. They never saw that one coming.

Another vampire noticed and grabbed a chair leg to deflect the staff with; Fei waved at the wall above it and a section broke loose. The vampire jumped out of the way, but yelled in surprise as the ground shifted under him, making him stumble and drop his guard, allowing Fei enough time to drive her staff into his heart. She only hoped there were a lot more vampires here. This felt good.

Jeff was standing in the center of the commotion, with the rest of the Unit pulverizing throngs of vampires. Looking slightly disappointed, he unholstered his Beretta M3P. Suddenly, a vampire came hurtling through the air, Jeffery just barely ducked and the vampire smashed into the wall several meters behind him.

"Heh, sorry about that." The minotaur said from across the room. Jeffery approached the collapsed wall and found the vampire contorted into a painful position, but still quite alive.

Grunting in pain, it unwound itself from what looked like multiple broken bones and grinned at Jeffery, clearly showing its fangs. As it got up, the first shot from the Beretta deafened the entire room. The vampire was floored as a close-range shell rittled its upper torso.

Jeffery closed in quickly, as the vampire was still recovering, and pressed his foot down hard on the fresh wounds. All things considered, the vampire took it quite well, just before it was turned into ash as Jeffery sent two successive rounds into its face.

"Oh, I'm fine."

The blue-eyed child looked up at the vampire that stood imposingly above her. Her long hair draped down across her back, and her right thumb was in her mouth. She looked at her opponent wide-eyed, almost seeming incomprehending.

However, nearby, a decapitated vampire lay fading away, his eyes burned away, and various other parts of the body charred beyond recognition. The vampire looked nervously down at the child, who, across the waist, was clipped a dagger. Another vampire, fleeing from the general melee, leapt in, eyes wild with fear. The vampire in front of the girl turned around.

It was the wrong move.
In one quick motion, the girl's eyes became sly and vicious, replacing the innocent gaze, and the dagger flicked into her hand. The one nearest to her turned and fear riddled his eyes and backed away slowly, while the other one looked at his companion in scorn.
"She's just a child," he said as he stepped forward, unaware of the girl's new complexion, only to step back in shock as suddenly, the girl lunged, a girl no longer, but a man with burning hands, trapping him in a circle of hellish flames. Then there was no man. There was a flash of orange and fire. Then the man was behind him. The vampire dodged a vicious slash and lashed out, striking thin air.
This strike and dodge method went on for a few more seconds, before the man/child gained the upperhand.

The kill was executed in two quick slashes; one that severed the spinal chord in an almost surgical manner, the other that completed the decapitation.

When the flames died, Fox noted that the other vampire had fled. Artemis' call came to her... his ears. She... he, transformed again, and sent out a sharp, yelping bark of a fox as reply, before picking the distinct scent of her escaped prey and disappearing again in a flash of orange and brown body and tail.

Apollo's wigns deliver a crushing burst of wind into the vampire, hurling it backwards into a wall. As the vampire hung pressed to the wall by the force of the wind, Apollo threw a pylum hard enough to pin it to the wall. He grimaced, looking decidedly unhappy. "I'm fine," He calls to Artemis "But I think I'm losing my touch, that last throw missed the heart by half an inch. It's abyssmal." He walks over to the wall and pulls out his pylum, turning to a heavy oak door where he had seen two of the vampires disapear. He advances on the door purposefully, a dark exprssion on his face.

Artemis chuckled and pressed the piece to his ear. "Everything looks fine Charisma, numbers don't always equal strength." Dodging another punch the incubus pushed a vampire away before delivering an uppercut that sent the soulless monster soaring. Drawing his stake he ran forward to deliver the killing strike but his target was dragged away by a pair of tentacles.
Who the hell has tentacles? As Artemis ran through the member list in his mind the body of the vampire was lifted into the air. The tentacle's grip relaxed then began to plunge into the undead's body, crisscrossing through the skin as the vampire screamed in pain. They finally stopped and began to bulge at strange intervals as Artemis realized what was going on.
"Holy shit, what's happening to Riley!?" A friend of the vampire screamed as his pack buddy's internal fluids were drained into the tentacles. The incubus didn't take notice at the scream as his eyes followed the trail back to the source, a humanoid looking piece of stuff.
"Charisma, tell me what the hell that thing is..."

Aspergilus Hominis (AKA: Mushroom Man)
Physical Description: Being a type of fungus, the 'Mushroom Men' are usually featureless, and could actually be mistaken for a human mold if it weren't for the tentacles that make up their arms.
Strengths: No higher thought functions (fear, pain, and the related are overidden by the need to feed), mobile and highly agile tentacles, a paralyzing gas spore
Weaknesses: Fire-phobic (their skin is highly combustible and increased heat disorients them), not capable of strategy.
Miscellaneous: Created during the middle ages to clean up dead bodies, these almost-sentient fungi decompose the dead much like actual mushrooms clean up plants. Used most recently by morticians to clean up pre-funeral bodies.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, at least they're on our side, even though I can't figure out why they're away from the office." Artemis sighed as the tentacles withdrew from the undead body, leaving a gasping husk. He began to turn towards the other members of the vampire nest and was slammed into the wall. Craning his head backwards he saw the tentacled monster closing in. He was pulled back and slammed again, then lifted upwards and shook. The tentacles bent back then snapped forward sending the incubus flying toward the barred windows. He closed his eyes and willed his body to sublimate and flew through the bars as the flesh that was his body became insubstantial mist, barely ruffled by the metal. He turned solid as gravity took hold and rolled along the ground outside the building.
"Why the hell is it trying to eat me if I'm not alive!" Artemis screamed into the receptor.
"Good news, it doesn't want to eat you, it just thinks you interrupted its food supply so it wants to kill you...although once you're dead I suppose it will eat you...kind of 'glass half empty' situation."
As Artemis mulled over Charisma's horrible pep talking the doors burst open and a mob of vampires swarmed out. Fighting to the death was ok but being eaten had apparently crossed a line. Inside Artemis glimpsed his team and saw at least four more of the mushroom men.
"Artemis, you can't let those vampires get away, they might hurt someone."
Artemis nodded to no one in particular and ran towards the vampires while calling back to his team to fall back. No sooner had he begun to forumulate the words than the transponder crackled back into life. "Don't leave those mushrooms there, they might attack again."
"Fine. GUYS, split up, we gotta catch the vamps and kill the mushrooms. Half with me, half stay here." He resumed his run towards the deserters, not paying attention to who followed him and who fought the mushrooms.

Nada heard the conversation being broadcast over the headset network. His was taped to his smooth skull, since the headpiece had nowhere to grip. "Mushrooms eating vampires? On any other day, that might seem strange. My footspeed is no match for them... I can stay here and stomp some fungus. Fungus can't eat metal, right?"

Stomping along, he walked through a closed door, which soon became a large hole, and entered the main chamber where a tentacled lump of.... ew, goo, or something, was eating a vampire. "Since you tried to kill my team-mate, I think we're going to skip the negotiations." He walked up to it, turned, and back-dropped his entire bulk onto the creature. There was a sqeaul, a squawk, and a puff of myconoid mucus in the dented floorboards where the metal man lay.

"I think I got one. Anyone got a match?"

Chris knew how to make fried mushrooms. Resuming the female form, she flipped over to a bottle of wine the undead had in their care, and grabbed and pulled out her lighter. In her sights was gaggle of mushroom men and vampires fighting to the death. She sipped some of the wine and held the lighter under her mouth. She blew a stream of flame toward the group, burning them all. The mushrooms and Vampires flailed wildly in the midst of the flames, and then all fell to the ground as ashes.

There was a sharp bark of a fox, possibly irritated. Fox sped in, dismayed that she had come too late to help torch the mushroom man.

Then, replacing the fox was a handsome young woman, hands burning with fire, yet unharmed from her own flames. "You had a bonfire without inviting me? Shame on you," she said with a southern drawl.

While some of the team preoccupied the mushroom men, Razma ran off to take down the rest of the vampires. He went for his magnum while running and blew the head off of the foremost runner of the deserters. The vampires must have realized they weren't going to escape that easy and started to split up, half ran one way, half ran the other. He saw Artemis run for the left group so he took the right.

CLANG!

"SONOFA!" Bo yelled. "Who the heck puts this cross beams up, man!"

Bo, still rubbing his head, and making sure to duck, ran after Razma and Artemis, figuring the others had the fungus well in hand. When he saw them split up, he slid to a halt. Looking up and down both hallways, he chose to follow Razma.

The ceiling down the right path was a little higher.

Apollo followed Artemis as he watched Bo chase after Razma. "Fine, guess it's me and the crazy soul-stealer." He suddenly gave a great flap of his wings and lifted into the air, allowing him to travel much faster than normal. As he flew he saw Artemis chasing the rouge vampires. He increased his speed and dropped directly into the path of the fleeing vampires. Un-able to stop itself, one of the vampires ran straight onto Apollo's sword. As the rest came to a skidding halt and found their escape route cut off, 3 or 4 bolted into the surrounding woods. Apollo followed hot on their heels. Leaving Artemis to deal with those still on the path.

Gamut hears the orders and chooses to take on the mushroom men. He takes out his crossbow and fires 3 flaming bolts into a mushroom man, then dashes up close to him to finish him off with a fiery sword. Jeffery, after realising he wouldn't be able to conjure up much fire himself, and seeing the other members of the Unit get along just fine, also began pursuing the vampires. The other members moved pretty fast, so he was coming up in the back. At the intersection, he followed Artemis and Apollo.

The mythical warrior split the fleeing vampires up a second time as he took flight off into the woods after four of them. Artemis and Jeffery were left to face the rest.

One lunged at Jeffery, but was promptly floored as he triggered the Beretta to go off at close range. A second took a swipe, but he ducked low, firing again and tearing off hefty pieces of flesh from his attackers left arm. Hissing, it took a swipe with the other arm and just barely missed Jeffery's abdomen. The vampires were, unfortunately, quite a bit more agile than Jeff.

Another boom echoed through the woods as the Beretta went off again, this time as it was knocked sideways by the vampire. Jeff smashed its face with the butt of the gun, which didn't really phase its onslaught. By this time, the first vampire had got up and charged as well. The second took a swipe, which Jeff dodged, but the first twirled around as it came into the melee.

Jeff had to use the Beretta to deflect the first blow, which was disarmed from the force of it, and just barely moved his face out of the way in time to dodge the second blow. He willingly dropped as the second vampire attacked again, unholstering one of his Desert Eagle's as he did so. The first loud, high-calibre shot echoed through the woods again and the vampire was stopped in its tracks from the momentum.

Jeff kept firing, simultaneously switching his target to the other vampire. After expending more than ten rounds, he realised this was only stalling for another inevitable melee. The vampires were only mildly stunned for a moment even after the Action Express rounds drove right through them, leaving horrible exit wounds.

He tried unholstering his second Eagle as he kept them at bay, but it was enough to divert his attention long enough for them to make a move. The first vampire slashed at his firing arm, finding itself slightly wide but leaving Jeffery completely open and the second jump kicked him in the chest.

Wind knocked out of him, he went down hard. Dropping his first Eagle and losing some grip on the second. The vampires were on him in an instant. Moments later things had degenerated into a wrestling match, but the vampires easily had the upper hand. Jeff only managed to wiggle out of manoeuvers when the vampires would try to bite at his neck. He lunged and grabbed the Desert Eagle but found one of the vampires on top of him, forcing his arm down.

"In most cases I wouldn't, but..." Jeff slammed his knee hard into the vampire's crotch, it winced and backed off, but the second charged right in. Boom. The high-calibre rounds were like music to his ears again. He capped the charging vampire four more times in the chest, the fifth blew two fingers right off.

Bracing itself, the charging vampire ignored the wounds and lunged at Jeff, tackling him back onto the ground again. Jeff pistol whipped it in the face and it reciprocated with a grunt and a hard punch, stunning Jeff and cutting the skin by his eyebrow. The vampire went to town, punching recklessly at Jeff as he tried to dodge the blows.

Jeff moved his head out of the way of a particularly nasty jab, and brought his hand up to snap the monster's elbow. Crack. The vampire screeched and stopped its attack to look down at its reversed arm. Jeff slugged it in the jaw, not really having much effect and pushed it off of him with his legs. He rolled several times trying to distance himself from the two vampires and stopped as a piece of metal jabbed him in the back. Getting up, he smiled and picked up the previously disarmed Beretta.

The vampire who had been kicked in the crotch took the time to look for one of Jeffery's dropped Desert Eagle's after it had recovered. Jeff lunged at it just as it picked it up. Boom. Jeff was completely deafened as the gun went off right near his left ear in the process of deflecting the vampire's arm away from his chest. He grabbed the back of the vampire's neck with his offhand and pulled it in until they were chest to chest. Jeff angled the Beretta with one hand and aimed it at the monster's bicep. Boom. The vampire's arm, and the Desert Eagle, were blown right off of its body. Jeff backstepped and muttered in pain, the backfire had injured his arm.

Another crack was heard from behind as the vampire reset its elbow roughly into place. The one-armed vampire in front of him smiled disgustingly and started advancing on Jeff, taking little notice of its severed limb.

"Yeah, sure." Bo said.

Bo grabbed the door handle, and pulled.

"Stupid...rusted...piece of gah!"

With a clang and the squeal of bending metal, the handle of the door ripped off, sending Bo into the the floor.

Growling, and his eyes turning red once more, Bo took the battleaxe off of his back harness. With a yell, Bo struck the door. The axe bit into the metal as if it was wood, and Bo tore a large gash in it. After three more strikes, Bo was able to reach inside and slide the bolt out of the lock, and threw the door open.

"Those suckers are so dead when I get to them." Bo growled, running down the hall.

Fox transformed and with a quick flick of her tail, rapidly gained ground towards the other group chasing the vampires. She spotted a small hole, just about her size, and darted into it, climbing with ease and agility through the nooks and crannies within the crumbling walls.

Soon, she was in front of one of the split up vampire groups. With a harsh thump of her tail, she blasted a fireball through the wall, creating a roaring firewall right in front of the vampires and trapping them between fire and death. Then, passing like a wraith through the firewall she created, she stood at ready to tear down any that attempts to escape.

With Bo right on his tail, Razma kept down the hallway. Eventually they reached the room with the vampires, and it looks like they came down for the help. On the other side stood what looked like an elder vampire, possibly trying to hide from the battle upstairs, along with 4 other runaways. "You get two, I get two. First one down gets the elder, deal?"

"Yeah, sure. Whatever." Bo shook his head. "Why do you people have to turn everything into a competi-HEY!" Bo yelled as Razma took off. "That's called cheating, you know!"

Bo broke to the right as two of the runaway vampires, now cornered, turned to protect the Elder.

Not that the Elder really needs it. Bo thought to himself. For all our talk, it's going to rough for two of us to take one Elder.

The first vampire jumped at Bo. It looked like he was trying to do the Trinity jump-kick from The Matrix.

"This is insulting." Bo muttered as his hand snatched the vampire out of mid-air by it's head. "Don't even get to fight a vampire with real skills! Just what they saw in the movies!"

Bo flung his captive into the wall as the second vampire got to him. Bo, expecting another novice fighter, waited for the attack to come.

As the vampire unleashed a fast spinning kick to Bo's muzzle, Bo decided that it was a bad idea to play defense with this one.

The vampire struck again, landing a blow to the minotaur's gut. Bo grunted and shrugged it off. This vampire knew enough to be a pain, but Bo doubted if he had experience with actual fighting.

The vampire came in again, but Bo was ready this time. He blocked the vampires next punch, and brought up his hoof for a kick, catching the vampire in the chest, sending it across the room.

A hiss brought Bo around just in time to snatch the second vampire's head in his massive hand again. Bo spun like a shot-put hurler, and again sent the novice vampire across the room.

Bo roared in pain as a sharp pain exploded in his side. A quick backhand knocked the vampire-who-knew-what-he-was-doing away, and Bo saw a switch-blade knife in the vampire's hand, red with blood.

"Right." Bo growled. "If you want to do blades, then blades I can do."

Bo reached to pull his battleaxe from it's harness, but his hand only caught air.

The vampire laughed, and as Bo looked again, he noticed that the vampire had one foot on the shaft of his battleaxe.

"Oh, that was cute. Cut my harness before you stab me." Bo muttered.

The vampire cast the knife aside, and picked up the battleaxe. With a yell, the vampire charged. Bo stood calmly in place, a smile on his face. He didn't reach for his guns, he didn't move, he didn't even twitch, he just smiled.

As the vampire got to him, it swung downards. Bo caught the shaft on it's way down with one hand, then the surprised vampire by the neck with his other hand.

"A word of advice." Bo said. "Never...ah, never mind, you won't need it, anyways."

Throwing the vampire up in the air, Bo swung. As the head of the vampire bounced free, both it and the vampire's body ashed.

Once again, Bo heard the battlecry of the charging novice vampire. With a sigh, Bo causally stepped aside and swung his axe in a short arc, severing the vampire's head neatly.

"Some people just don't learn." Bo muttered to himself. He looked over to see how Razma was doing.

Right after the chat, Razma had already charged to the left, and both vampires decided they would die fighting. Though they both decided to attack at once and both came flying in, one trying to jump kick and the other going to take out the feet by sliding. Razma jumped in the air and spun as the jumping vampire came in contact. The foot went by and Razma sliced it with a knife while he sliced the vampires stomach. Then as the vampire went on, Razma held out his knife and the vampire's head came and meet the knife, which completely sank into the now crunched skull. The vampire tried to attack with it's claws to get him off, but Razma sunk his other knife straight into the heart, and killed it instantly.

The other vampire came in, pissed off due to his friend's death. He launched a claw straight forward, in which Razma meet with a knife which went straight into the hand. The vampire tried to attack the same way with the other claw and was meet in the same way. Razma looked over and noticed Bo had already finished off his 2. "Lucky Bastard, alright take the elder, though watch out he probably is the one who made these vampires." Razma said as he kicked the vampire off him and pulled out his magnum and shot the vampire's head off.

Jeff strafed right to avoid being completely flanked, but the vampires both came up at him with blazing speed. He blocked one blow and countered with a solid left hook, connecting to the monster's jaw. It stumbled back for a moment, giving Jeff time to move out of the way from the flimsy one-armed twirl the other vampire tried to perform.

Jeff was running out of ideas. Vampires didn't have too much weak spots when one was fighting them unarmed. His hands weren't sharp and made of wood, and he wasn't exactly an expert in hand to hand decapitation, if there was such a field of study. Time became a much needed resource as well, he took his chances and tried to lunge past both of them to reach his weapons.

One punched him hard in the ribs, breaking at least one of them. The other slashed his upper arm badly with its claw. He ducked into a roll and made it through, ignoring his fresh wounds, and picked up his Beretta yet again.

"You're starting to piss me off." He said as he blew a chunk off of the vampire with all four limbs. "And you. Don't even get me started on you." He continued, flooring the one-armed vampire as a blast hit it in the right shoulder.

He cocked the shotgun and aimed it at the other monster's upper neck. Click, click. "Shit." The vampire took a swipe at Jeff, who promptly ducked out of the way. With a wince he brought himself back up and clutched his broken rib while simultaneously setting the safety on. He prepared himself for the next series of attacks and dodged them with ease, waiting for the opportunity to counterattack. When it came, he bashed the butt of the Beretta against the vampire's face. It growled and remained stunned for an instant, allowing Jeff to grab the muzzle end with both hands and give a full 180 degree swing.

Snap. Something in the vampire's neck broke or dislocated, and it's head was now at an awkward angle. Jeff took a few seconds to search for his Desert Eagles. He found one, picked it up, and dropped the Beretta. The one-armed vampire had recovered and came charging at him once again, which actually looked very odd, considering its lack of appendages.

Jeff fired four successive rounds into its chest, barely faltering its pace. He quickly switched quadrants and aimed for the legs. The first shot missed and kicked up some dust behind the vampire's legs, and the second nailed it in the shin.

It grunted and tripped, falling face first into the dirt. Jeff wasted no time, he walked up to it and stepped on its head, forcing it further into the ground. Boom, Boom, the vampire ashed away as Jeff severed it's head from the rest of it's body.

The remaining vampire was still preoccupied with it's new world view when Jeff shot both of it's kneecaps, grounding it for good. He took his sweet time and retrieved his second Eagle before he returned to where the vampire lay, hissing and growling at him.

Boom.

Chris returned to his normal form and turned his comlink on. "These Mushroom Men are just about taken care of, Need any further aid with the Vampires? I've only taken a few courses on Vampire biology but I can easily tell there is a very strong elder in this group."

Chris reached down and picked up a long strand of faded hair, somewhat white. Vampire hair turned gray after a few years and needed to be dyed black to remain inconspicuous, but after a good 100 years or so it starts to turn a shiny white. A vampire with pure white hair was more than 1000 years old, and age had given it immense strength and powers. This one was not that old, luckily, but it had gained some decent years. "You guys better be careful!"

Sunrise!" he said as he simply sat on the ground, normally he would be fighting but these mushroom men were a waste of his strength and the vampires now had a disadvantage as his watch went off. In about five minutes the true light would be hitting thier area and they could just flush them out. He began to simply break through walls to scare them or anger them out of hiding. He found Artemis and threw him a cloak and some spf 186, "Ready to move if so then lets burn."

Fox was now preoccupied. Two vampires burst through the firewall in an effort to flee from the general hubbub and the nearing sunlight in the nearest rooms and corridors. She hamstringed one in her fox form before a kick from the other vampire struck her square in the ribs. She offered a yelp of pain, but she was lucky that the vampire was off balance when he initiated the strike.

Her lithe form twisted around, and she sank her jaws into the offending leg, hearing the satisfied grunt of pain as the vampire tried to shake her off.

Then she was suddenly human. A finely muscled man, gripping a dagger in his right hand, his left keeping a vice-grip on the ankle proffered to him. One slash, Two slashes. The foot came off, and the vampire howled in agony before falling to the ground. Fox became his animal counterpart again and darted to the face. The vampire tried to claw her as she passed, but with a quick thump of her tail, she blew white-hot fire in the vampire's face. Dead flesh stank when it burned, and the man appeared again, initiated the ritual two slashes that decapitated the burning undead.

The other disabled vampire wasn't idle. Instead, he had crept up behind Fox, and the man turned around a bit too late as the creature of the dark laid a crushing grip on his ankle. Fox's body went rigid with pain. Then the man was no longer there. Instead, a child of 9 stood there, mouth open in a rictus of pain, from which erupted an earsplitting shriek.

The cry of an innocent.

The vampire's mouth fell open slack as Fox's scream took its toll. The grip on her ankle loosened in spasmodic moments.
Fox dealt with that vampire cordially in her... his man form. Then, rubbing his rib and ankle, he became Fox again and slipped through the fire to join the others to flush the abominations out.

"Thank you." Bo said, bringing his axe into a combat position.

Bo moved in slowly. He knew that vampires grew stronger with age, and the elder likely had a few decades of combat experience on him. This was not a foe Bo was going to underestimate.

Bo heard Chris come over the comlink, but he didn't dare take his attention off the elder long enough to answer. Me and Razma should be able to handle this guy. Bo thought to himself.

Suddenly, the elder moved. Fast. Bo brought his axe around and knocked aside the first series of punches, but the next ones landed. Bo grunted as he slid backwards a little with each punch. The elder was much stronger than the others they had fought here.

Bo brought around the butt of his axe, knocking the elder in the face, throwing the vampire off balance. Bo followed quickly with a horizontal slice, but the elder jumped back out of the way, and moved to the side of Bo before he could recover, and landed two kidney shots before Bo lashed out with a side-kicked, knocking the vampire away.

Bo threw his axe off to the side. As the vampire watched the axe, Bo quickly drew his sawed-off from his hoslter. The vampire saw the move, but it was too late. Bo fired.

The vampire elder was good, though. Knowing he couldn't avoid the shot completely, he turned sides, exposing the right side of his body to the blast, where it would only hurt, not kill. Snarling, it attack Bo with a flurry of attacks. Bo managed to block all but the last one. The vampire faked a kick, and Bo fell for it. The next thing he knew, the vampire delivered a vicious jumping spin kick to his muzzle. Pain exploded in Bo's head, and he found himself sliding backwards on the ground. Shaking his head, he stood. Blood oozed from his nose.

Bo looked over at Razma. "You can help, if you want." The minotaur told the human almost conversationally.

Razma only stared and watched as the Elder came in closer to the minotaur, and as the elder prepared for an attack, Razma drew and shot like inthe old Western showdowns. The bullet tore through the left arm, and the elder turned and charged him. Razma holstered the magnum and wiped out his knives and went into combat. After exhanging a few blows to each other, they both seemed to jump back. The elder had a few new cuts across his face and Razma was bleeding on the left side where he caught him good with his claw. OOC: No internet really sucks. Someone mentioned vampires going into the forest, that's where I'm going.

BIC: Fei followed three of the vampires into the forest, where they were apparently trying to hide from the vampires. Her smile wasn't pretty as she watched them silently, stalking them. "Silly vampires," she said softly. "You don't hide from a witch in a forest."

Putting her hand on the nearest tree, she concentrated on the wood around her. A sharp crack was all the warning the vampires had before dozens of wooden spikes shot from the trees, pinning them in place; every last one placed to be extremely painful, but avoid the heart. Sighing from the effort, Fei approached the vampires, watching them snarl in their attempts to get free. Each one watched in fear as she thrust her staff into their hearts, looking to her eyes to see hatred and anger, like ice, and...death.

"Now what's this I hear about an Elder?" she said as the last one crumbled to ash. She headed back inside. Revenge, it seemed, was a never-ending business, and she enjoyed it.

The elder slid his finger across his face and tasted his own blood. His eyes flared up while his tongue slid over his teeth, his white hair ruffled on his head. "You've killed most of my minions. I'll have to sire for a week or two to replenish my ranks."
Artemis unhitched the stake on his wrist and in one smooth motion let it fly on a perfect course at the last vampire's heart where it promptly stopped in mid-air in front of his chest. "Oh goddamnit..."
"Telekinesis, aged one thousand years." The stake flew back at the incubus and flew through his mist form, embedding itself into the wall behind him. Quickly sweeping his eyes between the gathered members, the elder Carrie-ied the three into the ceiling and let them drop to the floor. "And what are you? Some reject A-Team? An incubus, a minotaur, and a werewolf walk into a bar, the vampire ducks?" The elder chuckled at his own joke and Artemis took the chance to flip himself over and draw his knife. The elder's eyes looked at him. "Pathetic vigilante team. Macellan has nothing to worry about."
"Who's Macellan?" The incubus had never heard the name before.

Nada may be slow on foot (or at least average), but he didn't even register when it came to endurance. Doors got out of his way with extreme prejudice, and he could follow with the best of them. The mushrooms hadn't proved to be all that fun, really, and without even a Zippo he'd had to let his buddies do the killing. He wanted some more vampire action.

Nada rounded a corner in time to see one of his warrior allies ding up a stone pillar. he quickly scanned the room. His limbs might be slow, but he had a smart brain, or whatever it could be called, in his metal head. Vampire, white hair. Stong ally, dizzy. Another ally, not attacking. Clearly, we have something wrong.

He knew that witchcraft, and indeed most true magic, could not magic iron. Something about purity of elements, and kinship with the earth, and other crap he really din't care about. With any luck, the Vampire didn't know that. Completely foregoing subtlety, he started forward, feet landing heavily as he approached the elder vampire.

The vampire turned almost casually, and nada felt his footsteps start to get more difficult. Ok, telekinesis, he thought. Not magic. I'd really have preferred magic.

He dug in with his feet, since the soles of his shoes had burned away, and continued forward. He could feel himself trying to be hurled backwards, but he had far more mass than his teammates, or indeed any three of his team-mates. It was like marching through a river, but he was within three steps of the vampire. Two steps... one step...

One step...

"Dammit," Nada grumbled. His limbs were stuck. The vampire also seemed stuck, and probably knew that the second NAda had movement back, there was going to be one hell of a right hook coming his way.

Chris went back to his human form and pulled out his colt. And casually pointed at his foe. Chris always assumed much of his ability to fight was preserved.because he was rather unaggressive in his combat. He'd just take out as many as he could easily and let the others wear them down till he could put more blows in. Fox scented danger in the air, and slipped underground through a crack in the floorboards. Snaking through underneath the ground, she pricked her senses and made like a silent arrow towards where the elder vampire stood.

In her fox form, only animalistic traits were outwardly displayed. Though her mind seems sentient, her three souls have been repressed, giving her merely a simulated intelligence and cunning. She is completely fox, but she is also completely something else. She moved until she felt the velvety voice of the vampire right above her. Then, with a thump of her tail, she sent a powerful column of fire upwards, blasting through the ground beneath the vampire's feet, before she herself shot forward and away from her attack, intending it as hit-and-run.

As the fire streamed upwards immolating the elder, Artemis plunged his stake into its heart. It, along with the vampire, burned away to ash. Everybody began to pant through the adrenaline rush that had ended with the battle. The communicator crackled to life again, bringing a familiar and somewhat comforting voice to their ears.
"Well, thats that I guess. And you left most of the building standing which is a plus. DRI cleanup and med crews are on the way. Congrats on your first mission." And with that she faded away. Artemis cleared his head and cleared his throat. "Modern please."

"Does this hurt?"

"You're poking the spot where an Elder vampire jumpkicked me in the face. Of course it hurts. It's not bleeding for fun." Bo muttered.

The doctor nodded, and poked around the nose a little more. "Hmm...I'm afraid it's broken."

The doctor waved over a shaman, and Bo felt a wave of relief come over him. In his old life, he was often healed by magic by his "owner's" flunkies. That, and his shaman was an old friend.

"How are you doing, Bo?" The shaman asked as she knelt next to the minotaur.

"Dandy. Nothing like going a round with an Elder vampire, Loraine."

Artemis hobbled into the meeting room along with the rest of the Unit, the medical and mystical repairs complete. A blonde woman wearing glasses and carrying a clipboard strode past Artemis and snorted.
"Please Artemis, it was just a few measly vampires. If you can't handle that we've got a lot of promising Chimera applicants."
Artemis glared uselessly and starightened up. Pulling out a chair he sat down at the semi-circular table and flexed his knuckles to show he'd rather be anywhere else. "I'd like to know when the last time anybody in DRI, Chimera or not, helped take down a thousand year old elder." He smiled, letting the smugness go airborne.
"About that..." Charisma trailed off as her gaze looked over the group. When the entire team was assembled and seated she shuffled some papers and began. "First off, congratulations. You took down a pretty overstocked nest, and we clocked the vamp count at close to thirty. And including the mushroom men, you all kept calm and completed the mission very well." She imitated sighing but released no breath from her undead body. "Now, the 'it's how you look at it' bad news. You didn't fight an elder."
Artemis formulated a well thought out response to the sudden proclamation. "Buh?"
"The stray hairs you collected were sent to the Labs to be analyzed as elders are about as common as articulate incubi, and they found that you killed a 70 year old vampire."
"Bu-but his hair was white."
"So? Vampires make up 10% of the dye-buying population and thats just America alone. This one decided to be a smartass and dye his hair ivory white." Her tone was very matter-of-fact but a small undercurrent of amusement ran through it.
"He told us he was 1000."
And he had telekinesis."
"Wow? He told you? Well, I guess I'll tell Labs that the multi-million dollar equipment was wrong because my Unit was told the truth by a soulless bloodsucker. And the telekinesis could have come from any number of factors. He might have been a telekinetic before he was sired, he developed it in the decades afterward, and on and on. Look, I know you're all mad now, but this is a good thing. The last true elder had to be held inside the California Hellmouth, and the Slayer had to kill him, then smash the bones left behind before he could ressurect. DRI doesn't even have the skeptical hearsay to make a file on elder vamps." Charisma straightened her glasses and looked at the confused and skeptical faces.
"Well...mushroom men?" Artemis sighed and contemplated misting through his chair and out the door.
"That is actually more interesting. Like the file says, mushroom men are only really used at cemetaries and morticians offices. We're looking through all the offices right now to see if anybody is missing a few humanoid mushrooms. In the meantime, you guys are off the hook. Chris was in thought. Something just didn't add up. His knowledge of Vampires was not the best, nowhere near anything these people might have, but a non-elder with Telekinesis was impossible. He didn't know the specifics, but the mind had to advance past it's mortal limits for telekinesis to work. 523 years for weak telekinesis, 1000 for some telekinesis intermediacy. In order for a stronger form of telekinesis to appear quickly, a being has to cross over the verge of death and return. Vampires lack that ability, being forever void of death until they are entirely obliterated. They can only gain the stronger vampiric powers through time.

Chris realized there was some thing underhanded about all this, but kept it to himself as he walked over to the mess hall. There were too many things underhanded in the world and odds are this one was none of his business.

OOC: we’re allowed to make up our training and training centres, right? If not, then I balete.

Fox decided to try out one of their neat training facilities just installed the previous summer to train recruits. She leapt off the table (Perhaps she was the only animal allowed ON the tables in ANY meeting room because she just absolutely refused to come in any other form) and swiftly set her way towards the simulation centre to test out one of their boxes, grabbing a raw chicken leg from the mess hall kitchens and gulping it down on the way.

She made it to the door of the centre before she was forced to press her paw onto an ID pad.
"Welcome Fox," an automated voice greeted as the doors slid open. Fox paid no attention. She was curious as to what lay inside, and had lost interest of the talking box a long time ago. She streaked inside with excitemet and was confronted with a few startled and disapproving stares. Of course, Fox knew about the few workers here and their intent dislike of the 'special' unit, but since Fox was in her animal form, the looks just made her bristle slightly.

Suddenly, she was a young child bounding up to a scientist. She tugged insistently at the white sleeve in order to gain the man's attention.
"Uncle, uncle! I wanna ride in one of these. Gimme a go pweeeaaaase?" she exclaimed, widening her eyes until they teared up slightly. The worker, not totally intolerant towards her mythos background, gave a fatherly grin and ruffled her flawlessly straight, untangled hair.
"Sure honey, just as long as you stop calling me uncle. You can be old enough to be my parent!" he joked as he led Fox over to one of the simulation cubicles, and motioned her to step in. The other workers looked on with disdain, but Fox and the man ignored them.

It was a box, really. A metallic box with a strange type of metal lining the walls, ceiling and floors.
But as Fox stepped in, the box changed. Dramatically. The room seemed to expand and warp, and Fox felt herself go dizzy for a moment, before the room righted itself and became a room similar to the ones she traversed through the Elder vampire's lair.

Fox became an adult woman, and she stretched out. There was no sense of any kind of wall that depicted the original box. It was a kind of total illusion, maintained by a powerful magitech system.

Fox looked around, waiting as the room finally settled down and became 'solid'. She walked towards the wall, and touched it. The grittiness felt real under her fingers.
"Technology these days," she muttered under her breath, then said louder, “Ok, Viss,” she said, referring to the magitech system controlling her illusion (V.I.S.S standing for Virtual Intelligence Simulation System) “give me something to torch.”

And V.I.S.S responded by sending a wave of simulated monsters towards her.

"No telekinesis, eh?" Nada said, listening to the mission summary. "Then what the hell was all that crap that hit me?" He'd grumble, but he lacked the ability to do that now. He settled tor rubbing his iron hands together, which had much the same noise.

He headed back to his room to polish the scratches out of his hide (I'll post better later).

Bo fought to keep his face from snarling.

"He sure as heck didn't hit like a 70 year old." Bo muttered to himself. He had taken a few good hits from the other vampires in the room, but only the "Elder" had been strong enough to break bones...and breaking bones on a minotaur was no mean feat.

Still, for the most part, Research knew their stuff. And it didn't matter, as long as the sucker was dead.

A growl from his stomach reminded Bo he hadn't eaten since the afternoon before, but he was in no mood to go down to the cafeteria. With the bloodlust of battle still fresh in him memory, Bo didn't trust himself to keep his cool in the face of the salvo of cow jokes he was more than likely to face.

As Bo walked to him room, he tried his best to ignore the looks he got. Some looks were curious. Even after a few years, some people never got use to seeing a seven foot tall (seven and a half if you counted the horns) minotaur walk through the hallways of the DRI. Some looks were looks of scorn, this mostly from field agents and the like who, after their own experiences, decided long ago that the only good non-human was a dead non-human, and that to let the "enemy" into their midst was giving the Devil a knife and asking him to watch your back. Other looks weren't looks at all, but people pointedly making sure they didn't look at the minotaur, pretending that if they didn't acknowledge his existance, he would just go away.

Humans confuse me. Bo thought to himself. Who many lives would of been lost if regular teams would of been sent into that building? None of the regular units were prepared to handle that Elder...or whatever the heck it was.

Still, a few, very few, smiled at the minotaur. Some of these were people that had made it a point to make up for everyone else and at least pretended to be nice to the non-humans. Other were real friends, people who had gotten to know Bo and liked him, despite the fact he wasn't like them.

And thus the reason why I hang around this joint. For the few people who actually accept us. Bo thought to himself.

As he entered his room, the smell of fresh pizza made his stomach growl loudly. Turning on the light, he saw a box on his table, and a note:

Dear Bo,

Heard from Loraine your first mission was a success. Congradulations. Here's a little something for you.

-Strike Team 26

Bo smiled. Strike Team 26 was the team that liberated him from the gladitor pits, and it's members were the ones who helped ease him from the life of a gladitor to the life of a "person".

Bo sat down and reached for the remote. "Let's see what's on the news."

"That was definitly an elder, I don't fucking care how old he was." Razma mumbled to himself as he swung with his sword and tore up the vampire. The holographic chamber was doing a great job in making regular weak vampires, but nothing challenging. "If it talks like and elder, and fights like and elder, and looks like an elder, guess what?" He the slams another holograph with his sword. "It's a fucking elder." The holograph ended, and Razma walked over to the controls. "Lets see here, how bout another elder, for good measure." He makes a new holograph and standing there is another elder. "Let's do this." He says to the holograph as he charges it.

Fei felt a little better after the meeting, both because she had regained some of her energy, and because she hadn't missed killing an elder after all. Of course, hearing the news from Charisma wouldn't have been her preferred way, but in a place like this, you can't choose your superiors. Fei trusted Charisma...to a point.

Fei went to her room to do what she always did in her spare time: meditate. As a witch, concentration was the key, and the more you used your energy, the greater your potential energy became, just like working out muscles. The hardest thing to do was to change things without looking at them, so that was how she trained.

Fei's room didn't look much like a normal person would expect if they heard the word "witch"; most people didn't know what witches did. There were no strange symbols, no candles arranged in pentagrams; it was just a normal on-base apartment (she lived on base because it was convenient, and because a 17 year old living by herself would be a little odd), with one exception: along one wall there were specimens of almost every stable element, even the radioactive ones, and along the opposite wall were chunks of rock of various sizes.

Fei sat down on her bed, a Japanese-style mat on the floor, closed her eyes, and focused on the rocks. Slowly, they gained a metallic sheen, then flowed together like water into one big chunk, levitating an inch off the ground, before becoming rock again and breaking apart. Five times this happened, without Fei moving, in complete silence, before the rocks fell to the floor and Fei flopped back, asleep as soon as she hit the floor; her lotus mark glowed steadily.

Nada relaxed on his slab. He had made all the furniture in his quarters out of stone, since there wasn't a couch in the world that could hold his weight. Except for a La-Z-Boy, and the DRI wasn't about to spend THAT much on a friggin couch. So, they carted in all the rock he wanted, and Nada carved it up about as easily as a human would carve wood. His bed even had a pillow made out of stone, and his couch-slab was developing a nice ass-groove. He could tell that his current pants were starting to wear through, though, which meant another trip to Marks Work Wear House.

He could just as easily go without clothing, since he lacked "naughty bits", but whatever he had been in his previous life had been someone who liked clothes. Denim and plaid. Maybe he'd been a construction worker?

He shook his head, flipping through channels. Although he could crush the remote into an unrecognizeable and ultra-dence lump, he wasn't clumsy. Manipulating the buttons was easy enough, as long as he didn't forget to put it down.

he heaved his feet up onto his granite coffee table. He had tried the various training systems the DRI offered, but as far as he could tell training didn't do anything for him. He couldn't get stronger (which was ridiculous, since he had never even had the occaision to use his full strength anyways), he couldn't get faster, and when it came to fighting, he couldn't seem to pick up new stuff... particularly since there wasn't anyone he could spar with. Well, maybe the minotaur had the raw power needed to fight with him, but Nada was always afraid of snapping an arm or a leg or a horn or something. The only training he could do involved passing for normal in public, and not breaking furniture.

He wished he could eat... at least then he could hang out in the cafeteria. It always seemed to relaxed in there, until he showed up. Then, since the seats were aluminum, he had to stand. Stand, and not eat, in the cafeteria. That first time hadn't gone well at all.

Jeffery didn't really have much to do. After the meeting, he went to his residential complex, which was stationed on the DRI compound. Jeff liked it that way, he was mostly a loner anyway, so living with the rest of society meant little to him.

It was a quaint little psuedo-apartment. One bedroom, a kitchen area, and a small living room area. The living room area had a modest 34 inch LCD television and near the balcony window, a computer. Jeffery decided rest was the best option at the moment. He stored his weapons in their safety locker and plopped down on his twin-sized bed.

Gamut left the meeting sad. "Who are we to fight until our next mission?" He asked himself. He decides to wander the streets the rest of the night in search for any undead stragglers. No luck.

"Hmm...mahaps another hybrid..." he thinks to himself. Hybrids are not singled out to dragons other races may have evolved hybridised or even mutated thier own spiecies for suvival. "Hmmm..perhaps even a vamp freak." he thought again referring to the hybrid vampire copies he had witnessed a while back. "Hmmm...oh well." He gets up and moves off to a place to sleep and curls up like a dog and begins to snore

Fox's dagger rammed into a surprised vampire's neck, its razor sharp edge slicing cleanly through the undead flesh. Her foot landed, and she pivoted, making a nigh-impossible 180-degree turn with a wide slashing arc that finished what the first slash didn't. The vampire became ashes. Fox became animal, and, snarling viciously, darted between vampire legs. Her tail flicked and whacked brutally into one of the other vampire's leg, and the damned screamed so realistically as the fire roared up his body that Fox thought she was in real battle. The burning hologram stumbled around, easy prey for Fox, who dealt with him in the same way she dealt with the first one.

A third bore down on her, accompanied by a fourth. Fox became a darting figure of orange and bronze, streaking around, appearing as man, woman, child, in various places around the now-confused vampires. Then she struck one, neatly severing the spinal cord. She did not bother about dodging his spasmodic jerks, but latched onto his flailing arm and thrust into the other vampire her dagger. It punctured the side of the vampires neck... and promptly cauterised the wound as a stream of white-hot flames erupted from the hand that held the dagger.
Now white-hot from the pyromancer's magic, the dagger made easy work in decapitating both hapless vampires.

"Stop."

The simulation halted comically upon Fox's command. A vampire in midlunge, eyes glittering with fury, froze in midair, arms outstretched, claws and teeth bared. Nearby, the conversion of dead vampire into ash did not finish itself. Fox looked around, her vixen eyes picking out sharp details of every enemy she was going to encounter.

"Viss, delete all combatants from the room." The vampires vanished, including the dead ones. "Search in your data logging for one Elder Vampire. State age, power, and appearance."

There was a moment of silence before a holographic screen rolled down like translucent parchment in front of her. Writing appeared on the screen, including a spinning, 3D image of a typical elder vampire. There was more silence as Fox digested the data she had read.

“Alrightey then,” she suddenly changed accents, affecting a rather cowboy-ish voice, “Viss, incorporate Elder Vampire into combat scenery. Weaken all stats and abilities of illusion to a half of its strength. Activate now.”

The Elder vampire stood before her. Taller than her by several inches, he smiled at her, his vampiric teeth sending a jolt of unbidden panic down her spine.
“Right then, let’s see how you work out to be at half your strength,” she said as she prepared her assault.

Uhm, I've been banned, so I'll try and find a way to get back in this game.

And I've been banned again! Jeez, these mods are serious rejection addicts.

Someone who breaks rules left and right and registers new accounts knowing perfectly well he's going to get banned again calls the mods rejection addicts? That's an odd definition.

Also, since you won't be reading my reply to your PM anymore: If you register a new account when you've been temp-banned and continue posting as if nothing happened, it's ban dodging. We did explain it to you right here (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=10196&page=2). Told ya.

Sorry about the interruption folks, carry on.

IC: Gamut rolls over as the sun rises. "Hmm, I wonder what fights we will be sent to today then?" he says to himself, launching up from the concrete surface onto his feet.

OOC: Eh so what are we going to do about loss of character?

Then can you please answer the only question that I have asked so far?

WHY.... WAS.... I.... BANNED?

I have yet to recieve an explanation for the original banning. Answer me that, and I will stop re-joining.

I told you right in the reply to your first PM, and we don't care how many times you rejoin. We can just ban you over and over, and we certainly aren't about to let you blackmail us in any way. Quit being such a self-obsessed brat and stop disrupting people's RPs.

OOC: can we keep 'ooc talk only' posts to a minimum around here?

IC:
By sunrise, Fox was seen nursing a broken arm and several cracked ribs. She winced, her body being examined in the medical center by a few shamans who tutted about the injuries.
"What did this to you?" one of the healers asked.
"A holographic projector. OW! GODDAMNIT *DON'T* do that!" she yelped as the man did a few quick, deft movements that set a rib back into place. A golden glow formed around the man's hands, and the cracked rib healed painfully, wracking Fox with agony.
"Tsk," the shaman said as he put a few more ribs back into place, much to the protesting of Fox, "you shouldn't try to handle something so strong as that, even at half its power."
"How...was...I...supposed...to...know... anelderwouldbesopowerful?" her last words came out in a rush and a yelp as the doctor set her dislocated arm back into place and applied some more healing towards that area.
"You're just lucky that Viss didn't give you anything more than a beating," he said disapprovingly, "You should know already that an elder... whatever it is..."
"Vampire."
"Whatever. You should know that an elder vampire shouldn't be handled alone. They're far more powerful than one of you could handle," the man sniffed disdainfully. Fox stretched her newly fixed body, ignoring the disapproving look of the healer.
"Thank you kindly, chum," she said gleefully and kissed the surprised man on the nose, before leaping up and running out again, seemingly full of energy.

However, she was extremely fatigued, and went in search of her bunker. When not being able to find it, and realising through her exhaustion that she had never really HAD a bunker in the first place because she specifically requested that she sleep in animal form, she changed into her animal form and curled up in a patch of nicely soft grass and snoozed contentedly.

"You should consider yourself lucky. Look at you, your in a complete mess. What the hell were you thinking?" A shaman said as he looked over Razma's wounds.

Razma replied. "Does it really matter?"

"I guess not, though I'm surprised you did so well. The computer said the elder was at 68% health when it shutdown."

"Damnit, I was hoping for better."

"Quiet now, you have to many injuries to cure while your awake, I'll put you to sleep for a couple hours and when you wake up, you should be fine."

"Yeah, whatev..." Suddenly Razma fell asleep to the shaman's spell and the shaman went to work, curing the broken ribs, the leg wounds, the muscle tears, and all the minor stuff.
