Stupid Commercials

I watch a lot(undestatement) of TV a day. I see a lot(yet again an understatement) of stupid commericals. I just wanna know since a lot of people here in the NPF's live in other countries, I wanna find out what really stupid commercials you've seen before.

For example:
1. Several Quiznos Commercials
2. Several McDonalds Commercials
3. Some idiot was running down a hill pretending he was on a bike.

Boy, America is full of morons. Lets hear some of yours!

Hmmm... Any of you ever seen that stupid commercial where some guy comes and says "Hello my name is John Doe (or what ever, here it's Olli Mäkinen) and I am here to tell you about this fantastic washing stuff. Blaah blaah blaah." All the botles are pink.

Other than that the McDonalds commercials all suck. "I'm lovin' it!" Don't you fucking tell me what I love, dammit! No one fucking loves McDonalds!

Besides that there aren't any you might have seen. Just as a side note, we get a lot less commercial breaks and less commercials per break than in the US and several other countries. I know this for a fact, for I have A) Watched the Oscars live B) Watched Conan and hearing him say everytime there's a break there., the break doesen't come here. etc.

I've noticed the quality of commercials depends on what's on. Afternoon re-runs of shows that haven't been produced in over a decade tend to have horrible ones, whereas recently I was in the same room as a TV playing a basketball game, and the commercials were awesome. I've also heard of people who go to Super Bowl parties purely to see the commercials. (Maybe I've discovered a new Law? The quality of programming has an inverse relationship to the quality of commercials? Like an I Ching deal?)

I'll be the first to mention the ungodly Burger King Man commercials. How do those make anyone want to buy Burger King food?
If you wake up in the morning and a large man dressed in a mask and a king outfit hands you a sandwich, and you take a bite out of it, then YOU HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS!!!

2) Indeed. Where you Americans get 8 commercials during a show, we (Ze Dutchies) only get two, or three.

1) Commercials for... hmm... that-time-of-the-month-stuff (Sorry, can't rememeber the word for it ^_^; ). Those are bloody annoying too. (Pun not intended...)

2) Overall stupid commercials, where the clip has nothing to do with the product they're trying to sell.

3) Badly translated commercials. I.e, bad lipsynching.

Forgot to mention that on two channels there aren't any commercials at all. YLE 1 and YLE 2. Or channels 1 and 2, more simply.

I've also heard of people who go to Super Bowl parties purely to see the commercials.
That's understandable. Companies pay hundreds of thousands of dollars per second for advertising time during the Superbowl. Also, the commercials are played for the first time ever, so you never know what to expect. Usually it's good. All the Viagra-esque pill ads are starting to get annoying though.

And what's worst, those commericals always travel in pairs. As soon as you survive one, your remaining brain cells are torn asunder by the follow-up.

I cannot stress how much I hate commericals. It has driven me from the TV! I hardly ever watch TV anymore(thank goodness for the internet) and this is why. Back when I did, I ALWAYS watched two channels at once(I think my previous channel button broke on one remote…) because when one when to commerical I flipped to the other one to avoid the sheer stupidity.

I despise with a burning passion the commericals that have nothing to do with the actual product. I think Seinfeld described this best:

like just sliding off the front of the sofa with potato chip crumbs on their

I watch "Whose Line is it Anyway?" a lot on ABCfamily, and in every single commercial break, they have the EXACT SAME ad for whatever their next crappy made-for-TV movie is.

Personly some cof them anern't bad at first. But the after like 27 times of seeing it that day, I gets really old. Have you ever just been siting there watching and Right after it ends the exact same commerical comes on again. I mean There are commericals I can recit word for word and I don't like what there selling. Or those stupid commericals that ARE good, but when it's over you don't know what there selling.

PS: I liked the Quiznos things with the sandwitchs. And I'm suprised not a single person has metioned Mentos comericals, which I like very much.

The dumbest commercial I've seen is those Chef Boyardee (sp?) commercials where you see them dudes jump real high. I thought it was some lame shoe commercial, then I see chefboyardee.com. I'm like "What does this hafta do without food?" All it makes you do is go to their website. I think those commercials have no reason of being. It's just some lamo lametard trying to get hits for their website the lamest way possible.

The commercials for those body-sprays kind of thing (I think one of them is called Axe) that shows women throwing themselves (or are they thrown? They're shown as pretty mindless so that might be the right way of putting it) at whatever jerk (the jerkness is emphasized by the commercials, probably to really pin down that target audience) happened to put on the particular nostril scorching chemical that's being peddled; now those are stupid.

Like old fashioned love philters, only much more retarded.

About the Cillit Bang commercial: What annoys me is that here the guy in it introduces himself as a finnish person called Olli Mäkinen. What the fuck? The fuck you are Olli Mäkinen! That's what I always think when I see the commercial.
