View Full Version : The Legends of Demias

This is going to be a story driven fantasy RP, however I'm going to weave the main story around the characters. As in, aside from the first and last chapters, each is going to be based around the storyline of individuals. Chapter 1 would be the intro to the main conflict, chapter 2 would make character A be the main character and focus on his story, chapter 3 would focus on person B, etc. Also, since I'm really new at GMing, I could use a co-GM. If anyone is interested lemme know in your PM.
Send me a PM with your character sheet and the storyline (along with plot twists) so I can work it into the grand scheme. Anyhow, here it goes:
-------------------------------------------------------------
You're in the city of Goraz, in the country/continent of Rymala. Rymala is a peaceful democracy, where there is diversity but equality. Elves, Minotaurs, Faeries, Humans, Dwarves, and the rest of various mythical creatures, all live comfortably together. Sadly, there is still a need for weapons. Across the ocean is the land of Ba'Nia, which is a barbaric aristocracy, led by the warrior class, which hungers for conquest. There are no other nations, as every country has either annexed themselves to Rymala for protection or have been taken over by the Ba'Nians. Most people are trained to fight, in case they get drafted to fight. Thanks to magic, fighting is usually done on the no-man's land of insecure teleportation gates.
When you woke, you found a letter in your pouch or bag or pocket. Its addressed to you. It reads,
"Unbeknownst to the world, a great darkness is descending upon the whole of Demias. This darkness is consuming the world, and leaving no traces. People go missing but nobody remembers them existing. Buildings disappear and everyone remembers the spot to be nothing but farmland or wilderness. Stars have faded from the night sky, and people only remember the emptiness that fills the void.
Except for a select few, who are different. Some people haven't been affected by the darkness. Some remember the world as how it was. These chosen people have been called crazy for having a wild imagination, or even put into mental hospitals for hallucinating the impossible. We are the only hope for these people. We are known as the 'Dragon's Blood', dedicated to freeing people with the 'Undying Memory', uncovering the mystery of the lost dragons, and recovering the world from its state of decline. You know us as a guild of thieves, but I assure you we are so much more. We saw you resist the darkness, and thats why we request of your assistance. We can slow the work of the darkness, maybe even stop it, but we need your help!
If you're interested in this noble quest, come to the port square at midnight. You might want to quit your job while you're at it, as you'll be out of town a while. Don't worry, you'll be very well compensated for your efforts.
-Sincerely,
Ayden Leonsbane"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suggested races are Elves, Humans, Minotaurs, Faeries, and Dwarves. If you want something I haven't listed, ask and I'll probably approve it. Just about anything goes, as long as its sentient and has a form that lets it fit in the humanoid world. Try to keep it humanoid, and dragons are extinct. It is rumored that there are a few descendents of dragons in the world, and the few that are have been in hiding because the general population of both countries consider them to be abominations.
Mage Types: Everyone has magic. Everyone. Whether or not they know how to use it efficiently is another story, but everyone has access to it. The magic type of someone manifests itself at birth, although it is completely random. You can be only one type, but spells are more freeform (with limits). Your skill can be put between as many trees as you want, but just remember that a jack of all trades is a master of none.
Conjurer- Summons creatures, spirits (ghosts and astral projections), elemental beings, demons, angels, and some have even discovered how to summon gods.
Elementalist- Earth-Wind, Fire-Ice, Water-Lightning. They can control up to 3 elements, but none opposing eachother. The less elements controlled, the stronger the power over it. Strong single-element users can even learn conjuration powers, but only for that element.
Psychic- There are 3 branches; Telekinesis, Telepathy, and Divination. Telekenetics can control matter. Telepaths can read, talk to, or even control minds of others. Diviners predict the future, however its easily changed or possibly inaccurate. Especially experienced diviners sometimes have the power to mold the future.
Enchanters- Ability to enchant items, others, or even oneself. They all have slight elemental properties, but are primarily status inducers and makeshift healers. Strong enchanters can even speed up or slow down time.
Lightwielders- These are essentially elementalists, only more specialized. They are a different class because no elementalist can manipulate light as much as no lightwielder can manipulate the elements. Lightwielders have healing powers as well as manipulation of light. Use your imagination.
Shadowbringers- These can manipulate their power to disguise themselves as any other type. People with this magic type are branded at birth and required to wear magic restraints, as this magic is illegal. Use of this magic is illegal. Training of this magic is illegal. Knowing where to get training for this magic is illegal. Asking questions about where to get training for this magic is illegal. You cannot play as this type of mage as people will fear you like a leper, even with the magic restraints. Should you think up a good enough storyline to give me reason to let you play as one, then you would need to play as a makeshift elementalist or enchanter or whatever.
Technology of the time:
Rymala: Anything not enchanted is Medieval. Magitechnology is found everywhere. Magic-drawn carriages are the main form of transportation for those without teleportation. Some prototypes of magically-enhanced flying machines have had somewhat successful results. Magic weapons usually require the user's magic power, so most ranged weapons are only usuable by elementals and conjured pets. Melee weapons can have various effects, such as poison or stun, but usually also draw upon the user's power.
Ba'Nia: Everything except weapons is primitive, to the point of technology in biblical times. Science doesn't advance, weapons do. Magitechonological weapons are at their peak. Using the most advanced runes on complex grids, Managuns are long-range and, without an enchanter's protection, very lethal. They are offset by low accuracy, however the shot will travel quite a distance so a barrage can take out an army. Melee weapons are even stronger, using such runes in a combination with the user's own magic, they can be effective enough to tear through strong enchanters' spells.

Character profile:
Name: Obvious
Race: "
Gender: "
Age: "
Eyes: "
Hair: "
Clothes: "
Height: "
Weight: "
Magic: What type and specialization?
Favorite use of powers: I don't need to explain this, I hope.
Focus: What does your character use most proficiently in battle?
Weapons: Duh.
Bio: The backstory of your character. Don't make me explain this.
Mscl: Add anything you want that doesn't fit in the other categories, I personally don't have anything I can remember at the moment.
Here's mine as an example. He won't be with the party or fight much, but rather acts as the Dragon's Blood contact for the group.
Name: Ayden Leonsbane
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown, cut short
Clothes: Black pants, black shoes, a blue jacket, and a white undershirt. He has a silver ring around his left middle finger, and wears a blue jewel his grandmother gave him.
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 130 lbs
Magic: Psychic, mainly Telekenetic, slightly Telepathic
Favorite use of powers: Hovering, and flight when he's experienced enough
Focus: Magic combat
Weapons: 2 daggers, one is a Ba'Nian ceremonial crystal dagger that drains magic energy, given to him by Dragon's Blood, the other is a slightly longer blade that draws its energy from the holder. When used by Ayden, it confuses and depresses whoever touches the edge of the blade.
Bio: Son of a Psychic magitech engineer and a Healer, or at least thats how he remembers it. His mother and father were both erased by the darkness, as well as the town he grew up in. His past and all who knew of him had been taken away, so they now work with Dragon's Blood to fight off the darkness.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can join as a chosen or just as someone who believes the chosens. The only way for someone that isn't chosen to be protected from the darkness is if they either have a VERY strong willpower or are cared for dearly by a chosen. Just remember to PM me with your character and full story for me to approve and work you in. I want this to be 10 chapters at the longest, so that means no more than 8 slots are open. Should those fill up fast, I might consider letting people join as people without a story (mercenary or friend of a party member) or even extending the chapter limit if you can think of a good enough story.

Character Data posted per approval from Bosolai
Name: Renetta Clifford
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Eyes: Deep Violet
Hair: Jet Black
Clothes: Standard combination of steel armor fastened with leather straps and cloth for comfort and style. A left shoulderpad, breast plate, fingerless gauntlets, waist plating, and boots compose her armor, with leather straps keeping the armor on her body, and cloth shirts, pants, and glove and boot inserts keeping her comfortable.
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 112
Magic: Enchanter / Ally Stat Enhance
Favorite use of powers: Boosting physical status to increase physical damage dealt and lessen damage received.
Focus: One handed slash-based edge weapons. Basically, swords and knives and especially axes, excluding weapons like rapiers and spears that rely on thrusting. Renetta prefers cutting into her opponents. Gashes just look more cool when inflicted on the enemy.
Weapons: Steel Arm-Blade / Arm-Shield (attaches to her wrist and hand with leather straps, with the blade extending parallel to the forearm. The shield part covers the hand, wrist, and roughly half of the forearm.)
Bio: Renetta is a mercenary and quite a good one. She wouldn't be in Goraz if it wasn't for her father demanding that she stay within the city. Renetta aspires to accomplish many things in her life, and while it drives her to tears to not be able to leave, she respects and loves her father very much and will not leave without his approval. However, the letter from Leonsbane has settled this internal struggle for her. She'd solve all of the issues that involves the rest of her family that her father didn't explain. Whatever happened to her brother, Trevor? And how did her mother, Helena die? Now that she has a good reason for leaving the city, she's going to solve the mysteries behind her missing family and find out just what her father is protecting her from.

The profiles are looking really good. I just wanted to add something about shadowbringers, since thats the type of most of the villains I'll be throwing at you.
Shadowbringer magic is powerful. That is something everyone knows without a doubt. In a one-on-one fight against a shadowbringer of equal skill, only a lightwielder would dominate. Due to their power, they are restricted and their practices forbidden. This caused a sociological evolution which socially puts shadowbringers in Demias at the same level as Japanese in 1946 Pearl Harbor or Africans in 1860's Southern USA. Granted, shadowbringers have been demonized by the church, but that was really more for the church's convenience than from actual evidence. They've made up ways and relics to battle rogue shadowbringers, but they're about as effective as praying to the wrong god. The most of the devout are convinced otherwise, but due to the infrequency of rogue shadowbringers, they've no way to prove their claims.
Now, although I've said a lot about how shadowbringers are strong, but they aren't unbeatable. Should you be able to outwit, outmaneuver, or merely have more skill than him, you can probably overcome one. Due to the fact that I only kill characters when they either had it coming or it was part of a plot, you'll probably come out alive.

Name: Gwyn
Race: Faerie
Gender: Female
Age: 29
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Clothes: A dark purple dress
Height: 1'3"
Weight: 25 pounds
Magic: Lightwielders, specializes in healing, but can use her light manipulation in basic ways.
Favorite use of powers: Bright flashes of light that temporarily blind enemies, or light daggers that stun enemies.
Focus: Healer.
Weapons: A dagger (which she holds like a sword, due to her size)
Bio: Gwyn was born a natural healer, and was always ahead of her generation of faeries when it came to light manipulation. She was a healer in Goraz for people who had serious injuries, and she continued studies to further her abilities with light manipulation when she wasnt working. She married a male faerie, and gave birth to a single daughter, whom she named Morgan. One night, darnkess struck, and Gwyn had terrible nigthmares. She managed to escape the nightmares using her power over light, but when she awoke, she found Morgan missing. When she got the letter from Leonsbane, she had to accept. She felt it was her duty to both help heal the world, and find her daughter.

Sending a PM soon. Will edit this when it is sent.
EDIT: Character posted after approval.
Name: Connor of the Altus Montis
Race: Minotaur
Gender: Male
Age: Human equivalent 27
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Clothes: Loose robes and baggy pants. Think something along the lines of an oriental monk.
Height: Seven feet, not counting horns.
Weight: 390, all muscle.
Magic: Enchanter/self-enchantment.
Favorite use of powers: Add power to his physical attacks.
Focus: Hand-to-hand combat, with himself magically enchanted.
Weapons: For the most part, uses no weapons other than his hands and hooves. He carries a sword-in-staff...that is, a staff which houses a sword inside of it. You draw the sword out of the top of the staff, and the top of the staff becomes the hilt. He will use the staff when the situation calls for it, but will only draw the sword when the situation is most dire. He is ever skilled with both the staff and the sword, but will only use the sword when he has no other choice but to take life.
Bio: Connor is not your average minotaur.
Most likely because he wasn't raised by minotaurs.
Connor was raised by a group of warroir monks in the mountains, the Alust Montis, or High Mountains. They never told of his parent's fate...whether they truely didn't know or didn't want to tell them, Connor never discovered. Altus Montis taught that the greatest weapon was the one you were born with, your body. For Connor, that proved doubly true, for the Altus Montis trained him to use his hooves and horns as devistating weapons. The monks also taught how to use magic to refine the body. With magic, fists became hard as rock, kicks landed with the force of a mace.
While the Atlus Montis taught that the body was the greatest weapon, they also knew it was not always practical to use only the body. As such, Connor was taught the quaterstaff, and the sword. Life is scared to the monks, but they know the time may come when there is no other choice but to take it. When a Atlus Montis draws his sword from his staff, he means to kill, and has already decided there is no other recourse to killing.
As part of his training, Connor was sent out with other young monks to practice in the harsh mountain weather. Upon their return, the Temple was gone...but only Connor seemed to notice. The others continued down the mountain, towards a town that was nestled at the base. When Connor insisted that the Temple had existed and was suppose to be on the very ground they stood, he's compaions thought him mad, and tried to restrain him.
On the wind swept mountain, Connor fought the last remaining Atlus Montis. Apparently, the temple was not the only thing that the other monks had forgotten about, for after Connor repelled their inital rush, they quickly drew their swords.
After the battle, Connor came down the mountain, alone. While he hadn't draw his sword, the broken remains of his former friends lay buried in the snow of where the temple had existed. He sensed something wrong at work, and left the mountain to track it. His search led him to Goraz, where he awoke with the note in his pouch. With no other leads, and the disappear of the temple and the memory lost of his fellow monks fresh in his mind, he went to meet this Leonsbane
Mscl: For the most part, Connor will try to avoid killing any of the major races. The monster races (i.e.: Goblins, orcs...stuff of that ilk) he has no problem killing, as they live to hurt others

Name: Sebastian "Howl" Howry
Race: Wolfkin
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Eyes: A light shade of blue ones a little darker then the other.
Hair: Black, ragged, long and unsecured along with a somewhat grizzly beard.
Clothes: faded tan pants fastened with a rope belt, dusty brown boots, sweat stained brown shirt, tan jacket with its sleeves rolled up as well as a "borrowed" dark brown cloak. He also has shackles around his neck and wrists.
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 215 lbs
Magic: An Ice Wielder
Favorite use of Magic: Placing his hand against an object and causing the sudden creation of ice cicles towards his opponent.
Focus: Hand to hand with spell combination
Weapons: His fingernails are much stronger then normal, giving him powerful claws.
Bio: Sebastian's life lacked meaning, he merely wandered through the land begging for whatever food he could get. He seemed to remember what others forgot, not that he would mention it to many, until he awoke in a field near Goraz. He found the dragon's blood note in his pocket. He realized then what he must do he must do to give his life meaning. He must not only stop the darkness consuming the land, after all one day there will be no one to pan handle to, then what will he do.

And now here's my character, also with approval of Bosolai.
Name: Kerith
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Eyes: Green
Hair: Black
Clothes: A grey shirt with tan pants and a pair of boots. When in battle, he simply slips a suit of chain mail over his shirt.
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 167
Magic: Enchanter
Favorite use of powers: Making his or other’s swords and armor better.
Focus: Close combat, after boosting the power of his weapons and armor.
Weapons: A claymore from Ba’Nia that is absolutely covered in runes. The runes are there to increase durability, but also to make it feel lighter and less cumbersome. Some of the runes also make it easier for him to enchant it.
Bio: Kerith was almost a victim of the darkness, but he somehow survived. Losing his entire family and home, Kerith felt lost in the world. Seeing others with lives that were rich with activity and a sense of comfort, Kerith especially felt uncomfortable. Not to mention the strange glances people would give him. Combine that with a very odd tattoo on his back that doesn’t seem to be there for any reason, and also a claymore that he doesn’t even remember how he got, and you have a very insecure individual.
That was six years ago, though. Kerith has long since secured his place as a pit fighter. While, most of the time, he didn’t have to kill others for people’s entertainment, he has killed people. Many people see him as emotionless now, and really only see him as a tool for people’s entertainment and betting money. He’s long since lost any purpose in life other than fighting, and doesn’t really see any hope for himself.
When his owners took him to Goraz for the next series of pit fights, Kerith woke up with a letter next to him saying he could help. This has given him a new sense of hope, something he thinks he’s never felt. Eager to help, Kerith wishes not only for freedom after he’s done, but a sense of redemption for the crimes he’s committed over the past six years. Escaping from his owners, Kerith is trying his beset to stay hidden until he can see who sent him this letter.

Ok, just about everything's set. Lioness is going to be co-GM for this, and I'm closing signups for main characters for anyone who hasn't already sent an application. If anyone wants to join as a support character, such as a friend of a main or merely someone who wants to defeat the darkness, those positions will be open until Lioness and I decide our hands are full.

I had already been approved as a main character, so here he is. Jeez, I've revived him twice already.
Name: Samoht Grebedahcs
Race: Dark Elf
Gender: Male
Age: 75 (looks 25)
Eyes: Crimson Red
Hair: Dark Black
Clothes: Wears casual pants and shirt. Has a strong silver chestplate, which is rarely seen because he constantly wears a black hooded cloak. Leather boots and leather gloves are almost always worn. He carries an amulet that holds a picture of his wife and son.
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 210
Magic: Elementalist - Electric (I'm a zapper, baby!)
Favorite use of powers: Frying his opponents with large blasts of electricity.
Focus: Lightning magic. Since it's the only thing he focused on, he's going to be doing some fun things. (Channeling electricity through his sword, making lightning shields, conjuring creatures of lightning background, etc.)
Weapons: A jeweled longsword.
Bio: Samoht was once an assassin, and a damn good one. He only botched one job in his entire career, and it was the best thing to ever happen to him. He was sent to kill a politician. When he was about to kill him, the man's human daughter faced Samoht. Samoht was impressed, and infatuated. He would come and see the daughter as often as he could. Eventually, they married. They even had a son named Michael. Michael was a human/dark elf hybrid, but was happy. Sadly, not everyone was. A rogue group of extremist High Elves despised the thought that a Dark Elf and a Human mated. One night, while Samoht was out on a job, the elves burned his house to the ground. When Samoht returned, he found his wife dying on the ground. He held her in his arms as she died. He found out that the elves had kidnapped his son, and he vowed revenge. He followed the group, and slaughtered them all. Except for the group leader. The leader took Michael and ran off. Samoht never found him. After that day, Samoht gave up his life of being an assassin, and focused on his magic abilities.

Approved, of course.
Name: Karnok De'Larnill
Race: Minotaur
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Eyes: Dark Brown
Hair: Jet Black and coarse
Clothes: A loin cloth, a Sash with a satchel, A belt with lots of pouches
Height: 7'5"
Weight: 400lbs
Magic: Conjurer
Favorite uses: Summon spirits of his anscestors.
Focus: A large Trident, made very thick, long and strong for him to use
Weapons:The aforementioned large trident, a minotaur long bow.
Bio: Karnok was a child born under a prophetic star. He was to be trained as a Shaman along with all the other children born in his clan in that same week. He excelled at bringing forth the spirits of his ancestors. However he was not selected as the next Village Shaman. When this happened he was put to work in the Fields like the rest of his family.
He knew this life was not meant for him however so he continued to practice his training in secret. He grew up and had a few loves and love losses. Though his life, other then his training, was not that different than any young Minotaur of the time. He got in fights and would win. He worked hard and helped his clan to make a living. Yet when he noticed things disappearing he began to get worried. He asked his ancestors what to do and they told him he must await the answers to come from outside of himself. When he received the letter from Ayden Leonsbane he knew it was what he had waited for. That it was indeed what he had been training for. He hoped that he could help to correct this great wrong in the world, and with the strength of his ancestors, put back those things that have been taken away.
Toast burner, You should probably add about 200 pounds to that. The wrestler Kane alone weighs 330lbs and hes 7 feet. Now taking into consideration the fact that, your a Minotaur. You should probably weigh more then him.

Sorry I couldn't bend on that one point Bosolai, I would've liked to participate, but I also couldn't just change that part of his personality and motivation, not without making him a different character altogether. :-/
Nevermind that peeps, I think me n' him worked something out.
Name: Jen Kinze
Race: Kitsune
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown (fur)/Red (hair)
Clothes: Billowing cotton pants, of a dirty tanned color, and assorted pouches and bags. He wears no shoes, bands wrapped around his wrists, and nothing on his chest. His fur keeps that part warm well enough. He's been known to tie his hair back, but not often.
Height: 4'8"
Weight: 115 lbs. (in lean muscle)
Magic: Illusionist (a form of telepathy)
Favorite use of powers: To disguise himself as someone else for short periods of time; most useful when escaping and breaking in.
Focus: Agility, cunning, and a pair of daggers. Uses flamethrower to escape jams before a fight breaks out.
Weapons: Two small daggers; blunt, short, but sharp enough to cut skin. Less effective for killing as much as for defense. Also has a small, padded metal box, with which he can create a small stream of fire for a short time. This "flamethrower", as he calls it, is something he once... "borrowed" from a prominent scientist. He considered selling it until he realized he could put it to better use as a defensive tool...
Bio: The little-known and lesser-seen Kitsune (or in the slang, fox people) race is most known for producing some of the best thieves in the world. Formely of the mountainous areas, Jen migrated south and has begun to perfect his "profession" free from any guild, and has remained inconspicuous to the law. Although he never received any such letter from Ayden -- in fact, he's never heard of him -- he is always looking for an opportunity to make some more cash...

Here's my character! I'm co-GM (wait - you already know that), but my character is going to already be a member of the Dragon's Blood. Here goes:
--------------------------------------------------------
Name: Ian Roberts
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Eyes: Deep Blue
Hair: Dirty Blonde, long
Clothes: Wears fitted black pants and a loose emerald shirt. He also has a black jacket and boots.
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 154
Magic: Conjurer.
Focus: Using the creatures he conjures to fight (though he loves a fight himself too).
Weapons: A gilded bastard sword, a long knife in his right boot.
Bio: Ian was born to a loving mother, Patricia Roberts. His father, Lyon, was placed in an asylum for claiming things that were "insane." Patricia also saw these things but told no-one, for she wanted to raise Ian herself. Ian's father died due to the bad conditions of the asylum.
When Lyon died, Patricia decided she had to prove that her husband told the truth and told everyone what she knew for truth.
They burnt her at the stake for this.
Ian watched from an alleyway as his mother was killed, then fled the town. Ayden Leonsbane knew him for what he was and Ian joined the Dragon's Blood.
He has decided to make it his life's work to prove that what he sees is truth. He knows the world must be restored to glory before it is abolished.
--------------------------------------------------------
The roleplay will start pretty soon then, I think.

Heh, anyone without ranged abilities or flight would have a hard time even touching Gwyn, being that she's got nigh-infinite flight.
The first chapter is going to be really short, with little more than a bit of chit-chat, some magic relics with bells and whistles, a boss battle easier than the intro to Kingdom Hearts, and a bit more chit-chat.

Well actually i was being seriouse, you ever try to catch a fairy, speedy little bastards, Makes me wish I could make some sort of giant electrical sly swatter......RAIDEN! I must borrow your electrical powers!

Like hell you are!
Any electric death of any kind is sole ownership of Raiden Inc., and its sublet Samoht Co. Infringement of any kind in the drow's domain will end in severe pain. All trespassers will be persecuted and then shot on sight.
You have been warned.
(And electric flyswatters are SO the 90's. It's all about collosal BugZappers, baby!)

Delete and repost as to not spam: Raiden was planned to have chapter 2, but he'll be absent for a bit soon, so I'm gonna hafta push his chapter back to 3 or 4. So that means I'm gonna need to finish laying out chapter 2, which will (hopefully) be up tomorrow.

Sketch, ho~!
Finally got out a version of Jen that I think best suits what I'm seeing in my head. His left foot's a little high and his head's cocked a bit to the side, but hey... nothing you can't explain away with a rock and some attitude. ^^'

Sorry 'bout that, Mintaro. I missed your post for some reason.
Aw... it appears that I have missed the cut off, haven't I? Damn... this looks great. A story driven RP! Right up my alley.
I won't try to pry myself in, but if there is a chance I could sneak my way in, please let me know ASAP. If not, no worries, I'll find something else.
Edit: Oh snap! I just realized this started last month! (> <) Sorry! I saw this at the top, I thought this was new.

Don't worry about it, MC. I think Bosolai might be able to accept you and introduce you in one of the later chapters. He said he would say something when he was at the max for characters, and he never really did say anything, so you really shouldn't worry about it.
Well... I just feel bad about asking in the first place because it was ealier that I noticed that this had been set up for about a month now. I don't want to cut in on something that's been going on for a while.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love in because I'm looking to try and get back into roleplaying, but... I don't know... I'm tried right now...
Bosolai
07-12-2005, 09:55 PM
Well, I'll accept characters without their own main story without limits (for now), but since I'm down to 7 characters with their own chapters (Zephie doesn't want his own), I've got room for another character with his/her own chapter. So if you want in, just send me a PM with your character info. Unless Zephie suddenly decides he wants a chapter for Jen in the time it takes for you to submit a character sheet, then you'll prolly get your own chapter, as well.
Well... as long as it isn't too much trouble, yes, I would LOVE to join this. I'm sorry for not reading that this had been in progress for a month already, but I hope that I can join and add to this stroy. I'll haver something for you tomorrow because I am too tired right now, and I have work early tomorrow.

Chapter 3 is up. You can find it here:
http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?p=303569#post303569
Also, my web browser isn't letting the text editor in the post thing work, and I suck at html, so thats why its not in a simple "here" with underlines.
All right! With permission, I have joined this group... here is who I am.
Name: Tomagitchi Katsu
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: Looks Mid 60s?
Eyes: Brown
Hair: White
Clothes: White Kimono with Blue Male Hamaka pants. (I think that's what I want anyway...)
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 183 lbs
Magic: Elementalist - Earth. Both offensive and defensive.
Favorite use of powers: When things get a little out of hand, it isn't uncommon to see a massive wave of earth and rock spill over an enemy forced that is pestering him. He alo has powers like that of a mountain, strong resistance to weather, time, and opposing strength, but just like a mountain, he isn't invincable. If wounds do become a little more severe than he can handle, a cast of rock can be made to help borken bones or cover gashes until proper treatment can be found.
Focus: Hand to Hand
Weapons: Bare fists.
Bio: Born in to a kind family in the country of Rymala, he is one to know peace, and not much else. He lived the basic childhood: Went to school, graduated, procedded to collage, graduated that. While there, found his wife, had a daughter and continued to work to help pay for her schooling. Now that she is 27, she married into a wealthy family, allowing Katsu and his wife to retire, so they can relax and spend the rest of their lives together in harmony.
One of his major past times is to pratice martial arts, and because of this, has mastered several fighting styles. Ranging from the quickness of She Quan (Snake fist), to the calmness of T'ai Chi Quan. From the randomness of Zui Ba Xian Quan (8 Spirits Drunken Fist), to the leathal Xynyi Liuhe Quan (Iron fist), just to name a few. Going through the streets, he is known for bowing his head to everyone he passed. He is also feared by criminals, for if he notices someone being mugged on the side of the streets, he will go out of his way, offer life and limb to that stranger, and fight when the cops can't make it in time. In short, he was a quiet, humble hero among men.
Turning the age of 43, that's when he started to notice subtle changes. He wasn't getting the same smiles he did when he used to bow his head, women would even pull their children away from him when he greeted them with a warm grin. A few months later, his own daughter refused to recognize him as her father, claiming that he was a crazy old man gone senile, trying to get at her fortune. Soon after that, his wife of 30 years left him, waking up one day wondering why she was in some odd house, the same house that they had been living in for all those 30 years.
Things only got worse, Friends turned their back on him, family refused to admit they were related. It was as if he was vanishing from everyone's mind.
Two years after he noticed all these changes, he went out to try and find the cause of all this choas and to see if there was a way to revert it. After the age of 45... life becomes a blur...

Bolosai said I could join, so here is my character.
Name: Desul
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Eyes: A very Deep green
Hair: His hair is usually hidden in his helm, but it looks
black at first glance but closer inspection reveils it has trances of green in it also.
Clothes: He wears armor that is similiar to Kain from FF4 (2 in the states.). The armor is modelled after a legend he has read about dragoons.
Height: 6'1'
Weight: 180
Magic: Wind Elementalist
Favorite use of powers: He uses his magic mostly for aireal combat, which means jumping ontop of people from great hieghts. (Like from an airship.)
Focus: His skill with the spear is great, and combined with the great leap attacks he does and swift movements he uses, the spear's length is put to great use.
Weapons: A spear he has found. A dragon is pictured on the shaft, but the spear itself has unknown origin.
Bio: Desul has no knowledge of his parents or his family. His Dad had died a few months before his Mom gath birth and his Mom died a few days after Child birth.
In the orphanage, he had heard the legend of the kinghts of the dragons. Which is quite strange due to the fact that this legend is hidden quite well.
One day a young man came to the orphanage, and when he meet young Desul here, he was quite interested. And when he told him of the legend he has heard, the man immediatly adopted young Desul.
Desul soon found out why the man had adopted him, and that was because he had heard that legend only once or twice, but with a couple gaps inbetween certain storylines, but Desul's version filled those gaps . Desul also found out that the man worked for the group known as the Dragon's Blood.
The young man who adopted young Desul now brought him to a strange place. There the young man consulted a bunch of other people and they decided that Desul should go somewhere due to the fact his knowledge of the legend was quite strange. Afterwards they went through a portal to what looked like some type of ruins.
Here in the ruins Desul spent 4 years deciphering things most people would have thought would take 40. It was quite strange how easy it came to Desul, but he also learned much about that legend he had learned so long ago. He had learned that the knights of dragons where known as Dragoons. Pretty much all were wind elementalist, and they wore a specific armor.
Once he learned of this legend, became fasinated, or what some people might call obsessed. After he found out all he needed to become a dragoon, he started practicing to become one. He used his Wind Magic, which until now he just kinda played with, to make huge jumps and bounds.
After training another 5 years, Desul was now a teen, and so the Dragon's Blood group decided to give him a gift, and in return if they needed help he would come whenever they called. The gifts they gave him came from the ruined they ransacked so long ago. One was a peice of paper, which gave clear directions (at least to Desul.) on how to make Dragoon armor, and the other was a spear. And on the shaft of the spear was engraved a dragon.
Desul immediately had the armor made, and afterwards he went out on his own to finish his training as a dragoon. He can't remember the names of the towns he had past, but his skills made travel quite easy.
Just yesterday however, he had someone give him a message from the Dragon's Blood, saying they needed him, so now he is onw his way to figure out why.
Mscl: He has no idea where the ruins are, because the Dragon's Blood teleported him inside the ruins.

Alright, a little predicament has come up, as the GM's vacations are overlapping, and ironically, so is lazy_man's. I'm completely without technology from the 24th until the 30th, except maybe that sunday morning and saturday night. I'm not entirely sure about the others, but Lioness and lazy_man will be gone for a good bit of it as well. This chapter might be rushed a bit, but thats just to get to the boss action for you guys. Lazy_man is gonna help GM for the rest of the chapter, since he'll have some internet access, and Zephie is gonna help by controlling the boss.
The pre-boss part of this chapter won't be too long cause we gotta rush it a bit, but expect this boss fight to be one that everyone can participate in with a much higher post limit.
Is there going to be a specific time frame we are looking at?
Bosolai
07-19-2005, 05:30 PM
Um, the boss fight will start either this thursday/friday and last until lazy_man wants to finish it or I get back. So it'll start on the 21st or 22nd, and end on the 30th at the latest.
As for when everyone's gonna be gone:
Bosolai: 24th-30th
Lioness: 20th-29th (I could be a bit off)
lazy_man: 21st - uh, unsure, but he's gonna have some internet access.
When you see the altar appear, just go after it. At that time, the guards will be scrambling and it'll be easy to get from the stands to the pits.
Zephie

RUN! RUN! Or you'll be well done!
lazy man
07-19-2005, 06:22 PM
To clarify, I'll be gone until the 31st, but like Bosolai said, I will have access to the net.
And yes, the rest of the chapter will be rushed. I'm going to type up two more huge posts tonight so I can get through the fights quicker. If I can, I'll try and type up a quick post before I leave on Thursday night. From then on, I won't know when I'll have the internet back again.
To those going on vacation, have fun. To anyone who isn't... bear with us, this'll be over eventually.
Take your time, please. We don't want to rush too much to the point where we lose out on some really cool things.
Edit: One other thing. I haven't been on the boards as of late, how do I join GASP? Is there some sort of swearing in ceremony or... what? I hate to ask, but I'm interested.
lazy man
07-19-2005, 08:13 PM
Oh, no worries, I'm keeping every little detail in there. It's just that time happens to be of the essence, so it'll be compressed, instead of spread out between multiple posts.
As for GASP, just PM h4x.m4g3 about it. That's really all there is to it, so no worries there either.

I havn't really been fealing my character sense about the end of the last chapter. As such havn't been posting (Hard to write when you don't know what to write.). So I'm going to drop out, at least for this chapter. If you guys want to write up a summery of what has happened when the chapter is over I may be able to get back into it. I've just been dealing with lots of depression and all that razz matazz. So a noble but stoic fighter just hasn't really been my cup-o-joe. So yeah, good luck, try not to kill Karnok off, and I may be back to this RP in a week or something if you want me back. Till then just remember that Karnok likes Howl and Kerith because they'e both 'scrappers'.
Bosolai
07-20-2005, 01:25 AM
Alright, I'll keep your character alive and chapter on the list in case you come back, and try to play him the way you'd want. I hope you start feeling better soon, cause depression sucks big time.

07-20-2005, 10:48 AM
Now for some good news on my part.
I managed to nab a day off from work tomorrow so I can pack and do laundry before I actually leave. So that means there's not as much of a rush to get to the end of the chapter. As far as I'm concerned, that's just a big relief for me.
Well, that's all for now. If anything else pops up, I'll be sure to inform you.
Zephie
07-22-2005, 11:51 PM
Before anyone goes pointing a finger and shouting "GODMODING" (cause I know you are or want to), this isn't some OMG UTLIMATE spell. Like I hinted at, a partywide Iron Skin-like enchantment will be enough to let them absorb this and regroup. You might get a little banged up, sure, but with Renetta's healing aura and such an Iron Skin-like aura, the damage will be negligible.
And yes, I came up with the counterattack on the spot, in about five seconds. It's not like I thought this through. :p
Raiden
07-22-2005, 11:57 PM
Don't worry. You're supposed to do stuff like that. Because, if anyone else has noticed this by now, Kerith is really the only person who can kill the guy.
Zephie
07-23-2005, 12:09 AM
I can't help but worry. I'm the one doing it.
Though I'm not actually all bent up about it. As time goes on, I care less and less what people think.
Bosolai
07-23-2005, 02:03 AM
Shhh! Some people might not have figured that out, Raiden!
Although most of the bosses will have minions of some sort who can be killed by anyone, you still gotta send attacks at the main boss to keep him busy and not at full offensive force. And when he's at full offensive force, he gets to conjure ninjas wielding katanas that shoot laser swords when at full hearts.
Even though that would be cool, it would probably throw the RP off track for a good 3 pages or so, which is bad.
