Hmm...there are too many video game characters, I have no favorite. I have favorite*S*. Here's a few off the top of my head...

Sergeant Johnson (Halo and Halo 2) - He needs more lines in Halo 3.

Yoshi (Super Mario for SNES and Mario Kart) - Yeah, he's in others, but I fell in love with the cute little dinosaur as a child in these games.

Pikachu (Super Smash Bros.) - Oh yeah. I had so much fun with this mouse. He and Kirby were the best for pissing people off.

Sgt. Moody (Call of Duty) - Oh Sgt. Moody, what CAN'T you do!

I've always been fond of some FF characters too. Cloud and Sephiroth were always cool. Vivi was cool. I also like Yuna, Rikku, and Paine, but only in X-2, and only in the later parts of the game, when they stop being such fucking stereotypical retards.

4. Magus - (He started out a villain!)
5. I-No - Guilty Gear X2 (She takes her top off when she wins! xD Besides, she has a guitar and whips ass with it. o_O )

1. Faust (Guilty Gear) - Who doesn't love a 9 ft tall guy armed with a Doctor's Scalpel?
2. Chipp Zanuff (Guilty Gear) - Fast, and if used right powerful. Can go entire matches without being hit at all if you're good with him.
3. Venom (Guilty Gear) - The Dread Poolshark, skilled with those little balls and slamming them into people.
4. Kliff Undersn (Guilty Gear) - Gargantuan Cleaver sword. Can easily beat people.
5. Jeff (Earthbound) - Reminds me of my self, slightly.

Villians:
1. Sephiroth (FF7) - One Winged Angel...that is all.
2. Luther (SO:TEOT) - Can't explain why without involving spoilers...but he's a good villian.
3. Pokey (Earthbound) - Everyone wants to kill Pokey!
4. Dr. Robotnik/Eggman (Sonic Series) - Mostly for his battle music over the years. Especially in Sonic 2.

Anyway, everyone who said Master Chief, you fail. Ok, you can't really fail in a favorites list, but you get the point. Now that that's over, I'm going to list my top 5 villians.

1. Lavos. 'Nuff said.
2. Darth Sion (KOTOR II). I really freaked out the first time you saw him on the Harbringer. I thought the whole game he was Revan.
3. King Dedede (Kirby). It's an evil penguin! EVIL!
4. Gary (Pokemon). That jerk was always one step ahead of you, and he appeared without warning.
5. SA-X (Metroid Fusion). This villian had me freaked out the whole game, making me afraid to open every door.

And the worst villian award goes to...

Exdeath. Horrible name, and his true form was a tree.

1. Vivi(Final Fantasy 9) Hes a black mage who is 9, and who can get dizzy by looking at patterns on rugs......and hes sitll cooler then me.....
2.Darth Vadder(Star wars battlefront) You may be a jedi....and you may kill me with one sweap of your lightsabber...but i can still run you over with a speader bike!!HA!!
3.Master Cheif and Arbiter(halo2) Both really cool

Elazul from legend of mana- I jsut really like Elazul. I think his name is cool, and he's just an intersting character, and he's a bit too angsty. I like angst in a character!
Magus- Again, he's got that sort of Angsty-ness type of thing going for him, and he's awesome. 'nuff said

Saturos from Golden sun-...i like his name....
Drakonis from LoM- his name is cool, but he's better than saturos in that he's a dragon from hell! MUAHAHAHAHA!
Altima- well, not only is his name cool, but his nickname is the Bloody Angel! Very creepy right there.
King Dedede- A fat penguin...with a Hammer!

and yes, some of these guys arent the best choices... but whatever. I'll think up some more eventually.

Actually, I beat him at 80. Just have the Ultima Keyblade. Piece of cake. It's harder to get all the stuff than to beat him. With Ultima Blade that is. I beat him at 90 with the Metal Chocobo. After much trial and error.

Anyway, I'm gonna say Melfice from Grandia 2. Maybe he's just Sephi-clone #38886040, but he was pretty badass. SPOILER! ==>He killed his own fiancée, for crying out loud! He was posessed by Valmar, but still. END OF SPOILER!

Ryudo. Why? He's so sarcastic and cynical, it hurts. In a good way.
Cloud Strife. He just is.

Heroes:
Breath of Fire 2 -- Ryu. In combat, he manages to look cool while doing anything, even kneeling in pain or using a poorly-translated healing item. He's also from a game where the official artwork not only actually resembles the sprites, but actually takes asthetics into account. Picture (http://www.dragon-tear.net/images/bof2/BoF2_ryu2.jpg).

Lufia II -- Maxim. Especially in the ending sequence they didn't show in the first game.

Tales of Phantasia -- Cless Alvein. 'Nuff said.

Seiken Densetsu 3 -- Hawk and Kevin get honorable mention for being fun to play.

Villains:
Breath of Fire 2 (again) -- Evans. You can almost hear his lines despite a lack of voice-over. Calling them Nikanoru and all that...he just rules. I'll get around to playing FFVII real soon, but I doubt this Sephiroth guy could top him. (EDIT: Nope. Evans is cooler.) Plus, he kills all three of Ryu's companions, instead of just one back-row type girl. He doesn't need an absurdly long katana, he's got god-powers!
Barubary from the same game is also pretty cool, as is Habaruku.
