This is kinda like the Gorillaz thread so what we gonna do here is discuss the band Linkin Park.
I have all their cd's and im gonna say it, im on the brink of being obsessed. These guys are awesome, they aren't really rock or alternative, but a music of their own. With their mix of techno, hip hop, and rock yopu are nearly overwhelmed when you listen to them. The band members are Chester Bennington (vocals), Mike Shinoda (vocals, guitar), Joseph Hahn (turntables), Phoenix (bass), Brad Delson (guitars, bass, some vocals), Rob Bourdon (drums)
My favorite cd is probably Meteora, came out a couple years ago and it is a really cool album. Their debut album was Hybrid Theory which was formally their band name. My fave song is on Hybrid Theory, 'A Place For My Head'. The guitar solo in the beginning is really cool and it sounds really cool when chester screams.

My December is my favorite song, wish they released it in Meteora . . .
The band is good on their cds, but when I saw them in concert, I was kinda disappointed. I expect a band to sound like they do on their cds, and they weren't. How can I sing along when the lead singer changes whatever notes he wants to?

THANK YOU!!!! FINALLLY!!!! Okay, first of all, I thought Reanimation was one of their better albums, although Meteora is one inspirational album. I love Frgt/10 on their Reanimation album as well as Somewhere I Belong on the Meteora album. You guys, I own all their albums as well including the Jay-Z remix disc. I however don't have their singles albums one which contains the original version of My December before the Reanimation mix. You can find the original on a Linkin Park DvD too...
Nice to know of other fans out there. Hope I was of some help too...

I got into it when watching several Music Videoes made from Videogames put to their music. Personally I prefer Pushing Me Away and In the End, and hate the Reanimation CD with a burning passion.
But its good to know I'm not the oonly psycho in this world ;P

I agree with Raerlynn. The Reanimation CD was a huge disappointment for me. I thought it sucked ass. But just about everything else I've heard from them rocked.
So yeah. LP kicks ass... they just need to keep going with new stuff, rather than rehashing their old. Granted, the Jay-Z stuff was pretty cool, but there was an element of "fresh" there that wasn't present in Reanimation at all. Hopefully they've learned from that debacle.

I love most of their album songs, but the Live from Texas DVD is kind of dissapointing to watch. The CD is a good listen, though, if that makes any sense at all. My favorite songs are Lying From You and Faint. A lot of people say Linkin Park sucks, and I think they're crazy. It's extremely good anger-releasing music for when you're really pissed off about something. That, and it's fun to rock out to.

I have to agree with all but the fact you said Reanimation sucked. If you asked me it actually shows a lot of potential. It even revealed a lot of other mixmasters I've never even heard of. The Jay-Z mix cd, eh, I got it but I don't find it any better. No one should ever call Reanimation a "debacle". I found it some of their best work. Meteora itself was best. I have a Hybrid Theory DvD featuring the original My December song UN-remixed and its pretty good. Out of any band, Linkin Park is the best for anything. If you mix a certain song with a certain situation on a game, you find they fit perfectly.

live in texas came out about 2 years ago and Jay-Z came out last year, you can get any linkin park cd you are looking for at Hastings.
I have heard some new rumors, Mike Shinoda will be creating a rap cd named 'Fort Minor' and the band will be creating a new cd late this summer.

Just a heads up, Savage, making multiple posts in a row is somewhat frowned upon here. If you want to add something, there's a button that lets you edit your posts in the lower right corner.
(If you want to make sure people see there's something new, you can edit your older post into the new one and then delete it.)
All in the name of tidiness. :) (And so the post limit isn't reached prematurely.)

I'm back and I'm finally finished all my Grade 11 exams.
To celebrate, I'm going to see all the topics I've missed and reply to as many topics as possible.
Starting with this one.
I found this on the internet while Googling for some abandonware. Apparently this game (http://s64games.com/jetzrampage4.php) features songs from LP. Although this reply might be more suitable for the video game section instead of the Off-Topic section, you guys were talking about Linkin Park anyway, so I thought, what the hell.
So go see this game (http://s64games.com/jetzrampage4.php) already!

Linkin Park is all right with me. The angst can be a bit much, but it isn't the hate filled crap of Metal, so I'm down with it.
The thing I worry about with them, is that since their sound is so unique, and SO identifiable, that they could end up with a lot of Albums that just sound the same. As good as Hybrid Theory is, a lot of the songs sound really similar on it, and reanimation was not an improvement. They did something really nice with 'My December' though... that is a GREAT song.

I like Linkin Park, I have Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Meteroa, and Live in Texas. I didn't even bother with Jay-Z CD though. Because I despise rap. So Linkin Park's Reanimation is about as close as I will get to rap.
Hybrid Theory was a kickass CD, I liked Papercut and Runaway on that CD. Reanimation had some good parts and some sucky parts. I did not like the remix of Rnw@y. But I loved Frgt10 and P5hng Me A*way. Meteora had Faint and Figure.09. Also I loved My December. And has anyone heard their song Carousel? I love that song.
