DISCLAIMER: When I talk about Pokemon here, I mean the game, not the show. Also, all Ominloathers of Pokemon should hit the back button immediately.
As Pokemon still goes downhill, I still say that Pokemon Red/Blue was one of the best game ever. Unfortunately, it has taken too many wrong turns. However, I still love Red/Blue and it would be cool if they re-released it. Yes, like an anniversary addition. They would have to fix the bugs though.
If I were in charge of this anniversary addition, I would also change it so that instead of getting a gay diploma at the end you receive the 151 ST Pokemon Mew (which is not included in the American versions).
So, if they did make an anniverary addition what would you like changed? Would you rather see a new addition if it was done right and had a differant story line?
No flames please; I have already put up the disclaimer.

Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green (Green replaced blue).

For the record, in Japan there was a Pokemon Green at one time. But people didn't like it so they changed it to Blue.
Geuss they changed it to Green again.
Never played FR or LG, in comparison to the other Pokemon games, what are they like?

They are pretty close to the original except for the improved graphic, harder bosses (especially the Elite 4, a few have some pokemon in the 80s if I remember correctly), and the extremely-rare double battle. That, and there is one major change that greatly disrupts the storyline (in a good way) which gives you a chance to get some new and rare Pokemon (like Ho-oh). A few good changes, but nothing truely innovative or original. It follows the exact same battle system and basically the same plot, so if you're looking for a new challenge, don't look here. However, it is fun if you want to relive the originals without deleting your original save file.

The Bear pretty much summed it all up there.

Also: Mew does exist in the original. There's a bug that screws with the actual code and lets you fight any pokemon (including mew) out of the original 151. Check over on game faqs. It only took them a few years to find one that actually works.
And yah, I enjoyed red and blue too. I have a group of 5 level 80 or so mewtwos from back when I played a lot. I had both games so I'd start a new game on one, transfer my pokemon from after beating the other game to the new one, play through again, etc. etc.
It's mildly amusing using a level 80 mewtwo that you can't control on the earlier Gyms. You almost get worried when your mewtwo decides to nap, then you remember you have about 70 levels on the opposition.

Anytime I got both SURF and FLY, I would always head over to Cinnabar Island and use that glitch to get over 100 of an item. Rare Candies and Master Balls were my favorite. Didn't even need to fight to capture stuff with the Master Ball.

Yeah, i must admit it was a good game at the time. I still have them both i think, except i have red (<3) and my brother has blue. I personnally liked red better, blue is sorta depressing :/
i also played the pikachu version, and after that gave up on the series.
P.S. YEAH RAIDEN! I loved that glitch. Except i was told you;re not supposed to catch the missingno... that almost broke my game...
*Shudder* Missingno...
Anyways, one of my favorite times was defeating the Elite Four with a group of low-40s leveled pokemon:
Puff the Dragonair. I think. He may have still been a dratini at that point.
Rocky the Golem.
Big Boo the Gengar.
Merlin the Alakazam.
Spike the Jolteon.
Bubbles the Blastoise. Come on, the name fit when he was level 5...
They went in there, kicked ass, and took names. Not nearly as awe-inspiring as the tale of Tombstoner the Golem. My brother caught a Geodude in Mt. Moon, deposited all his pokemon, and went through the rest of the game just using Tombstoner.
Good times, good times.

Yeah the new ones are remakes.
I actually like the games after red and blue, and have at least one of every set, I got red, silver, my crystal was stolen, then on the gba ruby, emerald, and green. Havnt beaten the last two yet.
My brother owns blue, yellow, gold, crystal, and on the gba fire. so the only one we dont own is saphire, he is thinking of getting it.
I think they are good, the biggest problom i had with any of them is that the first ones on the gba, ruby saphire, are way to short.

What if they made a giant online RPG game? Like World of Warcraft, only it would be World of Pokemon. That would be cool if done right (and like the . Complicated, but a very cool idea.
About MissingNo in Red/Blue:
MissingNo/M/AnythingGlitchy is an undifined pokemon and a definate bug. You can find MissingNo with Gameshark, the coast of Cinnabar trick, and some others like this so-called "Cool Ditto" trick. Still a coll bug, its even better than Glitch City.
Also, there are thousands of fake glitches/cheats everywhere. Just type in "Pikablu" in a search engine and look at all the pages dedicated to fake cheats. Seriously, close the down already!
EDIT: I just downloaded a ROM for Fire Red and I see that this the game is way over the top! Red/Blue is STILL the best!

Ive always thought this, but not like wow or any mmo out there yet. I think it should be the same design as the game boy games, but maybe slight better graphiccs, but be huge like 5 areas, and you would never load it. Think about it modern computers could do that easy, it would be sweet. THere would still be the npc trainers and all the pc trainers, and you could do bet matches, instead of you lose half your cash, you set the bet amount. They should also be a bank like in silver. This would rock, you could chose whitch area you start out and everything, each area has diffrent starter pokemon. THat would be fun as hell, i would buy it

On my last birthday I got Pokemon FireRed. I liked it. I kicked @$$ in it. Heck, I beat the crap out of the Elite Four using Venusaur, Kadabra, Lapras, Moltres, Dragonite, and Pikachu (the Pikachu was just for show, I put it in the first slot just to make it interesting. It had a cool Light Ball though). Gary didn't stand a fricking chance.
Nowadays I'm just trading and raising Pokemon to get the very best Pokemon with the very best skillsets. I recently gots me a Ninjask (with a free Shedinja!).
Hopefully I'll hatch that metal/psychic pokemon that I forgot the name of...
And about the MMORPG version of Pokemon, I think it's a good idea. If Nintendo wanted to do that, I think they'll have to make a whole new handheld console based on cellphone technology so that everyone would be connected to the Pokemon servers.

I have all 151 in the Red. I lost my Blue.
I have Gold and Silver. All 251 on both thanks to the BrainBoy product. =P
I also have Yellow. I forget how I got all 151... oh wait, now I remember. When I had my blue, I had more than one Gameboy, so I did it myself. >.>;
I caught Missingno though. It was tight. xD The icon was an NPC dude. Then I saved the game and turned it back on.. it turned into a mewtwo. o_O;

*sniff* ah yes, pokemon blue. My first ever video game.
Outside of being a marketing monster (pun intended? maybe) it truly was a great RPG game.

Sir, I think you need not to look further than the Nintendo DS. The top screen can render the actual game in 3D. The bottom screen can be your inventory (and for fights can be your fighting menu), you can use the D-Pad and buttons like the GB Poke'mon games (or more like Super Mario 64 depending on the way the 3d will be used), and Nintendo has been working on new tech for the DS (that's actually being put to use in Animal Crossing DS) (http://www.gamevortex.com/e3_2005/story.php/Nintendo/DS/568) that will allow for free wireless internet player. Of course doing this means that probably means that if you just load up the game it will be singleplayer but if go to the top floor of the poke'center you can talk to the nurse who will bring up a server menu for you. From here you can go through the internet to find other servers hosting multiplayer poke'mon games.

No. We want it so that you enter the pokemon world with other trainers; not talk to the lady and battle. I can do that already (Gamelink Cable) and in Japan you can already use wireless Gameboys to battle people by talking to the lady.

God... Pokemon... that was probably the greatest Gameboy game ever made. To date, I've collected several Pokemon versions (two were given to me by my friend Paul). And they are...
One Red (from my cousin - mine disappeared... so that's two if you count that)
Two Yellows (possibly a third somewhere)
Three Blues
Two Silvers
One Gold (which I left in a hotel bed, along with my favorite Gameboy... T.T)
One Ruby (... currently MIA)
One FireRed
One Pokemon Trading Card Game, if that even counts...
The Blue version Paul gave me was at Pokedex 149... all I needed was a Seadra and a Kabutops to get all 151.
Probably one of my most memorable experiences was when I was on a bus trip somewhere with my Yellow version, some kid had a Lv. 30 Mew on him, and he wanted a Bulbasaur for it. So we traded and then he asked for the Mew back... and I said no. =3 I'm such a bizzotch sometimes. However, karma struck, and that Mew (at Lv. 46 last I remember) was on the Gold version I left in the hotel bed. Along with a Lv. 71 Lugia. *sigh*
I'm currently working on FireRed... it's tough.

I first got Pokemon Blue, I got it and beat it with only like 79 Pokemon. Then about 2 months later I got Pokemon Red and I beat that and I stayed with that collecting all 151 Pokemon on it. But then I spilt water on it and the file was erased. So I tried collecting it all on Blue, but I just wasn't in the mood for it anymore and sold it to someone for 10 dollars. Then I became to regret that and bought Yellow version as soon as it came out.
I don't ever think I beat that game, I kept losing at the Elite Four.
I had that game for a year and then my sister stole it, but luckly for me, later I went to the Capital and found a used Yellow version in the garden that had a level 80 Pikachu and beat the Elite Four twice with 120 pokemon.
Then I got Silver version and got about 230 pokemon with the help of the Gold version that I stole from my sister. I never got Crystal though...
I bought Ruby version as soon as it came out and my sister bought Saphire. I beat it but I never got into collecting the pokemon. And I got Leaf Green just to re-experiance the good old days. After I played for alittle, I found a cheap Blue version that I got a dollar, all it needed was a new battery and it was good as new.
So In conclusion I like Pokemon and I would like a MMORPG of Pokemon, be it on the Revolution, Gamecube, DS, or PC.

I had blue and silver and, my brother had red and gold. I remember playing it on various rode trips. I haven't really thought about the game in a really long time so I don't remember much about it. I do remember that it was a pretty good game.
After gold and silver, I lost my interest in the games.

I beat Ruby with only capturing i think 9 pokemon, only using 7 of them. I beat the game in 70 hours.
