I don't know if this has been posted before, but i'm new so i have an excuse :p .
i just wanted to know if they were made under brians permission, and if any more of those are planned to be made. Because as flash its fuggin' hilarious. the guy who does fighter is pretty funny.
there was one part that really made me laugh, becase it really makes it seem like fighter and black mage are buddies, but then that theorey is completely destroyed later. it works good in the comic too.
:fighter: - well where would you suggest someone would hide mystical armor of invincibility?!?!
:bmage: - ok chuckles, from now on i pick the adventures.
:fighter: - Phooey!
*8 pages later on comic, and in the next part of the flash...*
*BM is thinking*
fighter - duhh! i am the fighter! i gives away all our shineys!
*BM does hadoken in his mind*
fighter - blarrgh! I am dead!
funnnnny...
oh and if you havent seen the flash, its on this list: http://newgrounds.com/collections/finalfantasy.html

I've seen them. I really dislike the voice they chose for Black Mage. It's a good thing they only did the first twenty or so episodes, because whenever I read those episodes I don't look at Black Mage the same, so I'd hate for it to happen to the later ones.

yeah.. black mages voice was a little iffy. but i think fighters was spot on.

Black Mage's is too echo-y and Fighter sounds too pompous.

Shiz, Net, Bizzaro, y`all seem to be referring to the old Black Mage, Cotmm, with the echo effect that was left out in 8BT3. Then Cotmm pulled out, and 8BT4 brought in Omahdon! Please to not be saying that Black Mage's voice needs to be different, because we all know how hard Starky has tried to make sure Omahdon doesn't change the voice. @_@
Now, lesee... There's 568 comics, about 8 comics per episode, which means 71 are currently needed to cover them all, and they're up to episode 5...
Wowie. How long are you acting folk gonna be around for? @_@

Well, I don't really like Black Mage's voice in either 3 or 4. It's too... scratchy. It sounds like a 12 year old boy trying to imitate his favorite villain from a new computer game he's obsessed with.
And I could swear that it's Fighter who says, "But wouldn't you just be destroying yourself?" not White Mage. It seems like the kind of stupid response that Fighter would come up with.

I didn't like Thief in I don't remember, either the 3rd or 4th episode, where he says the line "Suckers!" It just wasn't delivered right.
As for all the 8-bit flashes, the intro to Arfenhouse: Teh Movie Too! (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/110131) nails it right on the head.

Honestly, I didn't think Children of the monkey machine did a bad job on BM's voice. It sounded pretty fitting for the role. Now, one thing to straighten, Antonio Pizza does an amazing voice for fighter. It's as if he "is" fighter!

I know that #4 was different from #3, but he still tried to do the same thing as the guy from #3, and that was having a scratchy voice.

The new BM was trying to fill the shoes of the old one, and as such tried to imitate. I had a GREAT idea for the transition, but nooo~~ TLF didn't listen. Oh well. What's done is done.
And I wasn't feeling good when I had to do that "Suckers!" line. I just don't like that word. :thief:

You speak of the 8-Bit Theater movies by Karui Kage (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/search.php?kind=a&terms=Karui_Kage). They aren't very flash. No real voice acting ("Oh, hey. I've heard about these. This is a... random, encounter."), very short, and simple animation at 12FPS? No thanks.

As for voice acting, it's actually quite simple. All you need is a mike, some time, and a recording program. :thief:

Well, I've returned, after a 3 month hiatus. (sp?)
Anyway, here I am, to disillusion fans, and yell at stupid people.
First off, Rhyos, this requiring of things from Rai Rai...sounds like you're up to something behind my back (AGAIN!). Care to fill me in (if it's at all related to our business)?
Episode 5 was so long in the works partially because I'm lazy, and we were experimenting with lots of different animation techniques...and having said that, you folks probably won't even notice that we've revamped everything.
Forewarning: despite efforts to conserve filesize (we succeeded too). This episode will be just as short, if not shorter than the others. Sorry.
This episode introduces Red Mage. No doubt you will all hate his voice. Tough titty, we don't care.
People still hate BM's voice. Tough titty. No one but him cares, and It's all I can do to keep from flying across the world to beat him mercilessly so that he quits listening to you morons, and just plays his part the way he should: My way.
Other reasons the episode took so long: We've had several sets of lines redone, several retweakings of animation, and a whole lot of personal crises (and lazy voice actors.) *throws a rock at AntonioPizza, who probably wasn't lazy at all.* the end result is: better sound quality, better acting, and more interesting animation. To what degree that betterness is exacted, that's up in the air, but It's better.
I think that's all I have to say.
The new episode will be out soon...I hope. I'm still waiting on lines, actually.
We've got some big(ish) news up our sleeves for the future, unfortunately most of us are out of the loop on what it is anyway. We've got two Extra things in the works that should make our fans happy, and give Arfenhouse something to do, since they obviously don't have any lives over there anyway....Seriously, I can't stress enough how much I hate trolls and stupid people...but that said, I love troll dolls....with their purple hair and such...and nudity.
Ok, I'm done.

Fun, Yet Horrifically Offtopic Fact: Disaster Lab's Misteroo (Creator of Arfenhouse and the in/famous 8-Bitch Fyve) has stated that he's quite over Arfenhouse (which tried to give the message "Yes, anyone can do this. So don't," as satire towards authors) and wants to move onto other projects. He's been doing that stuff since 1999, so he's well over it. Yes, that's the ever in/famous 8-Bitch Fyve.
In this episode, it was directed towards the innundating amount of people copying stuff from nuklearpower.com into their own horrible little sprite comics/sprite movies. The main target was the 8-Bit Theater flash series--or, rather, its viewers, who don't exactly realize how easy it is to import sprites and make them recite prewritten script when all that is really required to pull off the job is a microphone and excessive use of the 'import' function.
The overall lesson behind the movie is "Yes, *anyone* can do this. So don't." It's harder to pick up a pencil and create something new *AND* successful than it is to copy, trace, or butcher something else someone else made because it's already popular so you might be able to syphon some of it away.Explanation: It shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out the lesson behind this movie, but you'll probably just blam it outright and send some flames or something like that. We're fans of the original comics but we hurl over the flashes. Even when drawing the characters in this pointy-shapey style and screwing things over entirely, it's STILL an improvement.
Explanation: The point is that nobody actually gets anywhere if they don't actually try and something and a lot of people think that they can just ignore that fact entirely, throw in some video game characters or rip off The Simpsons, and crown themselves as God, thereby ignoring all advice given to them, such as "spend more than 5 minutes on this" or "test your work out before using it." Sadly, this is seen everywhere.
Explanation: Clevinger spent years working on his material and it showed dramatic improvement. He learned his awesomeness. Someone else making a 'movie' (with an extremely low amount of animation) and copying it word for word-and somehow being rated well-was what triggered the creation of this flash to hijack the 5th episode. We're only doing this once.
Explanation: So for those of you who really want to make something of the things that you spend your time on, remember that quality and originality are worth far more throughout your lifetime than making some stupid knockoff of someone else's work. You may now proceed these 4 frames and write a lot of angry flames.
Note, I don't entirely agree with the Explanation, but it makes some good points.

I've said it before, I'll probably say it a million times.
We don't seek popularity, popularity found us.
If we get rated well, it's because new fans appreciate brian's work, and will eventually find their way here through the animations, OR current fans appreciate our tributes/homages. While the animation may be simple, when one is trying to do the best and truest representation of something, you can't very well change the style of art without changing the mood and theme. 8BT:Animated uses/used 8-bit sprites because it wouldn't be 8-bit anymore if we didn't. We'd have to call it 'hand-drawn' theater, which completely drops the whole inference toward the original NES that one can usually draw from the phrase '8-bit.' While I appreciate satire, I find the arfenhouse animation to be completely unfunny, and without enough of a commentary to be worth viewing. Sure it's easy to do, but we want to expose people from a different community to the great stuff in this community, and we're the most true-to-form representation there is, regardless of how little our voice actors sound like your imagination.
Also: The sound quality on the voice recordings is better than some of the more famous flash series out there, for example: Neurotically Yours, and Innumerable submissions to newgrounds. Hurtin' on our voice actors' microphones is without grounds, and unnecessary. Mind you, I don't like to blow my own trumpet, so to speak.
There is a lot of effort put into these animations, regardless of how easy it looks, and not just in terms of animation. We try to put out the best work we can, and if 18, 000 crazed fans think it's worth 4.20/5.00 (which isn't really that fabulous anyway.) Then, that's their beef. We just do what we do because we like to do it, and we appreciate Brian's writing. What we do isn't any different from What Batman Begins does, or Spiderman, or the Fantastic Four.
We interpret the comics our way, and bring them to live (adding the dimension of movement equals 'life' for now.) There will be more innovation in later editions. Like I said, we've got lots up our sleeves.

Keep in mind: I work full time in retail management. I still can barely afford gas to and from work and food to keep me mobile. I tend to have to trade off between one or the other.
In other words, I, nor can any of the rest of the cast, afford a $300 microphone. Though I know where TO get them, I cannot AFFORD them. Although in Misteroo's bash, I think he was referring to some of the other animations. (off-topic sidetrack: As odd as this sounds, at one point I used HEADPHONES as a MICROPHONE. It CAN be done. Try it at home, kids!)
