Hiya. An odd thought just occurred to me, and I thought I'd share. Basically, I was wondering if there were any sound recording programs out there that effectively emulate how we hear our own voice.
I mean, maybe you're not aware of this, but the sound of your voice bounces a bit more inside your own head, which gives you a very unique perspective on your own voice.
Anyway, if such a program exists I'd certainly be interested in hearing more about it. (Heck, I might even PAY for such a program.)

I don't know how it's there, but in Sound Recorder (using XP), there's an option in the Volume Control panel called "What U Hear" as a device. It does a fair approximation of the job, I think...

Well that's good to know, but if there's anything non XP I'd be interested in that. (I've got access to an XP, but my personal computer is ME.)

Where is it? I can't find it anywhere.

Oh, man. I would love that.
Since i've lost my weight I've thought of myself as a nerd who adheres noticeably to the stereotype, along with a medium-pitched voice.
I found out later that my voice is actually quite low all the time.
And I effect a killer German accent without any effort.
It's disconcerting to try and imagine that coming out of my moutn

That's probably more or less something to do with the soundcard you've got. The MIC has tone settings that can be adjusted (on some computers. mine are greyed out), and the ever common 20dB boost checkbox. Anything else is a bonus depending on what's in your compy.
Unless I put on a voice, I sound slightly nasal on the outside. :{
