So, to recap...

In terms of Mech Combat, Clanners are generally:

Gunnery: 4
Piloting: 3

So...I can therefore say Raviel is about as good as an average clanner.

Anyway, I need to look through my books, but wasn't there a Freebirth somewhere somewhen that became a clan leader (He renounced his former life as part of the Draconis Combine, and had to prove himself against a bunch of opponents. Can't remember which clan though.)

EDIT: Meh. I'm talking about in Mech Piloting/Gunnery. Obviously, Raviel is outclassed enough in other areas by IS pilots already, let alone a Clan Mechwarrior.

I'm still kinda curious what Race does, by the way (like, what are the 3-5 races?). If it's nothing at all, I'm fine with that. If it, say, turns me into a Super Saiyan, I'm fine with that too.

By the way Dante, an Atlas with 3 gunnery is good enough to blow away just about everyone else here alone, if you get in range. That'd be twink enough for me. Trade you mechs? :)

No, he isn't. Because clanners with +int/ref, assuming INT/REF 7, have physical 4.

4-4 (Gunnery) = TN 0
4-3 (Piloting) = TN 1

Raviel's
6-6 (Gunnery) = TN 0
6-2 (Piloting) = TN 4

Raviel's just as good of a gunner as your average clansman, but he's lacking in the piloting area.

They're the best battle armor pilots in existance. Pretty much.

BA warriors generally don't have good lifespans, so there aren't many heros in the infantry.

Even as a Khan, it's best to keep your fighting skills in shape. You never know when someone might get the nerve to challenge you to a Trial of somethingorother and you have to back down. Talk about dishonor on a legendary scale. Of course, being a political mastermind, you've probably got 20+ bloodnamed warriors ready to accept any challenge issued to you on your behalf.

The higher you get in clan society, the more is expected of you.

After graduating at the top of his class, “Cab” joined the Kell Hounds for a time, and was a great success, but left because they simply didn’t understand him…in other words, his utter lack of social skills screwed things up again. Departing at approximately the same time as Blaze Lorens, Charles also migrated to Solaris, in search of a new Heavy mech, and enough money to make all of his dreams come true. Plus, this job gives him a chance to fulfill his passion for mass Fraggage.

Okay, Alpha lance guys. We should stick together on the east side of the mountain and concentrate our fire to take out mechs one at a time. If we focus our fire, and they spread it out, we should be able to get an advantage by eliminating enemy guns in an extended engagement.

Also, let's not destroy anything that we disable, because we'll get to salvage it.

Alright dudes, and ladies.

new rules for the next battle.

linked weapons

our macros will now link weapons able to fire in the same arc. Linked weapons will roll only one to-hit, and use the worst of the weapon ranges. Example Nova prime can link the lasers in one hand and the lasers in the other. hit locations work as normal

Wasn't sure, but I thought it meant they had to be in the same Macro.

Ah, so I see. Main weapon is just chain fire anyway, so that won't work.

I'll have Karen's weapons all be linked, since well, they're all paired anyway.

Main Weapon: LRM-15 + Cycle
Group 1: Fire-Linked Mplas and Linked SSRM2's
Group 2: Linked LRM-15's.

Sir, would it be alright for me to strip one of the heat sinks in exchange for an extra ton (20 shots) of ammo? The 5M lacks some of the heat trouble of the Rifleman 5D, but has a bit of an ammo deficiency when it comes to extended engagements.

I'll assume I can fire any one individual weapon anytime I like and Alpha Strike anytime I like, as long as the weapons in question are ready, without taking up fire groups.

sure, Scot put $5000 on us. The lbx shot hit an ammo pod sure it had case but that only protects the other parts if you have an IS XL engine you're down.

The fed coms have a bottle neck and as the kurita and liao fight each other for the right to take them on the fed coms can pick them off like the old town girls in sin city.

Still, does Gauss ammo explode? They're just spherical steel/iron shells...

I noticed the Liao guys surrendered, so hopefully the Fedcoms will actually take casualties from the victorious Kuritans. Still, I think we're going to have to mop up quite a bit after the Mariks are done with.

Looks like we're doing very well so far. The Mariks are a bit incompetant, it would seem.
