I have noticed a rather interesting connection between our beloved “8-Bit Theater” and the 80’s hit “A-Team”. The characters of 8-Bit are surprisingly similar to the characters of the A-Team
I’m something of an A-Team fan. So what are these connections you ask? Well, let’s start off Red Mage. Red Mage parallels John “Hannibal” Smith. They are they planners of the group whose plans generally require huge amounts of blind luck (though neither character would ever admit that). That brings us to Thief. His A-Team buddy is Templeton “Faceman” Peck. They are both conmen of the utmost abilities. Thief gets a country and Faceman gets planes, luxury apartments, and (judging by all the women) laid a lot. Now let’s look at Fighter. He’s so stupid, why; you’d have to be insane to be on par with him. Ah but wait, wasn’t there a character on A-Team that was insane. Yep, H.M. “Howlin Mad” Murdock. Not only are they both crazy, they share the ability to come up big when needed. Finally, we have Black Mage. He is closest to the famous Mr. T. They are the big guns you call to beat/blast the crap outta everything. Aside from the fact that the 8-Bit characters of a lack a little, shall we say, mental proficiency (and thank god they do), they are almost perfect matchs.
I'm not intending to take anythnig away for 8-Bit Theater, I just found this kind of interesting.
