OOC: Gah, was going to post sooner, got interrupted. Anyone that hasn't posted yet, or wasn't specifically stated as being in a team, just put yourself into a squad and say you've been with them. Note I'll probably end this multiple teams thing after this thread or before our first run since it can get tricky trying to have multiple different groups going at the same time when both will be active.

As the runners decided it was best to team up, the two teams made their way into the city. The map locations were little more than corperate plugs and provided no useful data, so they used a more reliable source of the goings on in the city, the bars. They headed into the slums, and started bar hopping, trading tales with the gangers and fellow shadowrunners there in exchange for info about the city, contacts, and most importantly, Johnsons. After getting their data, they decided to rest during the day, and in the evening they would start tracking down some of the fixers and Johnsons to see if they could get some jobs or new gear...

The Taxi dropped Conrad, Angela, and Mendel in front of an old warehouse in the slums. It was dark, and likely some gangs territory, but the streets were empty and it looked fairly safe. They had recieved word through a letter left at the hotel that a Johnson had gotten word they were looking for work, and having no other immediate leads to follow up, they went for this one. They stood outside, assesing the situation before they went in. Inside, they were greeted by a massive troll in a leather jacket and jeans, who took one look at them and said, "You's guys the runners?"

The other team, Covenant, Heart, and Drek, also arrived at their target, a fairly upscale club at the boarder between the slums and the homeowners. The club had a history as one of Chicago's finest (and most expensive). Apparently the person they were looking for went by the handle Torn, and was a regular at this establishment, which meant he was most likely well known and had a good supply of money. They approached the entrance, and the ork bouncers took one look at them, immediatly guessed (correctly) that they were shadowrunners, guessed (incorrectly) that they were on a run to kill someone inside, and as soon as they came in hearing range said, "Scrag off, we don't want any trouble here." Then went back to watching the line of people trying to get in.

OOC: Note, the fixer team, SS, IHMN, and Ecurt, won't get very far with violence since Lone Star (The name for the police) will keep a close eye on such a high level and public establishment, so you will need to find an alternate route in, which is up to you.

Covenant put his arms neatly behind his back and adopted a very authentic british accent. "Now now my poor chaps. We happen to have some very important business to attend to with a Mr. Torn, and we've kept him waiting for some time. I hope you could be so good as to let us in before I have my hired compatriots force my way in."

The ork raised his eyebrow and whistled. Soon four more orks, these ones heavily armed, came out and stood there, bringing the orks up to six, while the people near the front of the line began to back up, fearing a fight starting. "You want to reconsider violence there, chummer? And Torn don't know any of you, he owns this here club, and he ain't said anything about any 'buisness' with your type tonight."

Drek reached forward, grabbed Covenant's head, and pulled him behind him. Laughing nevously, Drek tried to fix what Cov started. "Heh... Ignore that guy, he's been living in a temple for his entire life... We just want to go in, get a couple of drinks, talk to some friends, and be on our way. That's all. We don't want a fight or anything."

"Well my poor chaps, that is an awful turn in events. I'll go and phone him now, and then you'll all see that I was told to be here all along. Ta-ta." He walked away.

As he saw it, there was two options. Kill or put into extreme pain the guards, or sneak in. It sadly seemed like he needed to do the second.

Conrad smiled and stepped forward.

Opportunity is knocking ...

Turning to look at Angela and Mendel he gave them a thumbs up. A thumbs up that could have meant I'll handle this one if not for the dark look on his face. The three had established before the left to see the Johnson that this was a sign to keep alert. In Angela's case it meant Scout the Astral.

Turning back to the troll with the same wide grin as before he nodded and said, "That's the chip truth, chummer. Care to play your hand?"

(OOC: Zero, that's slang for 'What kinda work do ya got.' Wasn't sure if you'd catch on. It's kinda cryptic. Saiyan, many an apology for the constant teasings. Meant no mean intent with all that 'TellsHisPast' stuff, kay? Bygones. :D )

OOC: For ease of use, I'll put what group it is before a paragraph. Fixers are trying to get into the club, Jhonsons are trying to get a run set up.

Fixer Group
The head ork looked suspiciously at the fellow and said, "Hmm, you leave your weapons at the door and you might get in, and don't try any fancy stuff with that cyberware and try to sneak it by." The ork pointed at the door frame and said, "Got a cyberware scanner set up, and if you even think of trying anything funny, we'll frag the lot of you, got it?"

Jhonson Group
The troll smiled and said, no longer in his dumbed down speak, "No need for the street speak here pal, we're all buisness men. Indeed, I do have a job. I've heard you all are trying to get into the shadows of Chicago? Well, I can't trust you yet, so I have a little test for you. I have contacts looking for jobs from more than a few clients, and if you don't mind lending a gang a hand, the Mafia is looking for someone. Low risk, low payout, easy Nuyen, and I might get you some higher paying runs in the future. Sound good?"

Drek looked down at his case, which contained all of his weapons. I don't wanna leave them behind... Especially with strangers... Drek turned to (What is Ecurt's guy's name?). "Um... You two go in. I'll stay out here and... Study the map more."

The troll rubbed his chin thoughtfully and said, "Alright, you just got yourself you first run. The Mafia had a trusted bagman in their service for four years. Recently, he came out on the wrong end of a battle between the Triad and Yakuza , and got killed in the fighting. He was carrying a pretty penny in Corperate data on chips, and when the Triad won the fight, well, to the victors go the spoils, even if they weren't fighting. The Mafia suspects the Triad don't know what they have yet, so your supposed to stage a raid on a small Triad safehouse where the gangers from that battle are hiding out from Lone Star. Mafia doesn't care who needs to end up dead, but they wan't those chips back. You probably have about two days before the gangers are back on the street, and it's likely either while their hiding or when they get out, someone will realize what they have, so you need to get the chips back before then. The safe house is, your going to love this, in the sewers, so watch out for mutant rats and ghouls while your down there. Got it?"

OOC: Damn, go to work and check back at lunchtime and this is what happens. Meh.

IC:
Angela wrinkled her nose at the idea.

"Sewers? Hmph. Though it will deter most of the pursuit, the runners may be desperate or smelly enough not to care... plus, sewers are a major health risk."

She hmphed and continued.

"Then again, an easily accessible safehouse is even more of a health risk. Terminal lead poisoning isn't my thing."

The troll sneered and said, "If you don't like it, then you don't have to go one the run. Regardless, here's the instructions on how to get there," he handed Conrad a piece of paper, "And I hope to see you back in a few days with the chips." With that, the troll lumbered off inot the warehouse and was soon lost to sight in the maze of boxes.

"Sewers, guh, I hate sewers, smelly and nasty, and ghouls! I hate ghouls, the pale skin, and sharp teeth, try and strangle and bite you, ack. Why did it have to be sewers, eh?" Mendel said, beginning to shake again at the thought of having to travel through the sewers.

Demon with a Glass Hand

Conrad nodded, yet again. "Well then. I suppose we'll have to arrange a figure. But, since we're new in town and -well, I certainly don't know my way around- so forth, maybe you can help us out."

(OCC: I guess this is where my ettiquete skill comes into play. To aid in negotiations.)

"We need some equipment if we're going to do this properly. Survielence mostly. A couple of fiber obtics, Three ear plug codecs so we can communicate over a distance of at least six blocks, that sort of thing. Since we agreed on half payment to start, I'll cut my share down to 1/4 of that, for your personal 'scratch,' if you can lead us to a Fixer who can get us all of that within the time limit of 48 hours."

(OOC: Okay, since I might not be a regular tonight, here's the synopsis of the plan I came up with. It is subject to change by your input, and I by no means consider myslef to be the leader of this group.

The Plan: The gangers will get twitchy after about 48 hours, and they might consider leaving. This is a good oppurtunity to catch them off guard. We would have a better chance at this point then when they are paranoid about people intruding upon their safehouse.

From a position hotel, abandoned building, etc ... Mendel will jack the Matrix. With 48 hours survielence, our team can probably scout a good portion of the sewer looking for the obvious exits onto the street, etc. City blueprints stolen from a database by Mendel might help with this. With all 'important' sewer exits under 'survielance' (hence the fiber optics) Mendel will be able to regulate the position of the Gangers. By paying off a couple of Lonestar car patrols, they can box the gangers in if need be, or force them into the sewers. Again, Mendel will have a an audio link to those cars and, of course, Conrad and Angela via codec.

After all that, it is a simple matter of either subduing the gangers via the streets, or ambushing them via the sewer. All this can be done with the seed money paid to the team by the Troll Johnson, and the creds that Conrad was payed to keep the runners safe. All money gained after the mission is completed is profit. All weapons and interesting trinkets found in the safehouse or on the bodies of the gangers can be sold for x-tra profit. Or kept.

Either way, that is the plan. Conrad is good as general combat, what with his hightened awareness and superhuman reflexes, Angela can scout the Astral and provide the powerful magic backup, and in the safety of a hotel (etc) Mendel can act out the part of 'Otacon' helping the runners achieve the mission while not getting caught in the crossfire.

Simple, fun, and Holy Hell what a long post!)

Angela nodded.

"Good plan. One thing, though... maybe I could try sneaking into the place? I've always been a very proactive person, do unto others before they do unto you and all that.

And another thing... I could try stealing some of the gear you need. Cheaper than paying for it, and better them than us, right?"

OOC: I'll make an addendum to what the troll did...

Jhonson Group
Just before the troll turned the corner, he heard Conrad's last comment. "Sorry chummer, You've got a place and you've got what you got, I can't help you any more." Then leaves.

Mendel listened to Conrad's plan and said, "The other guys are trying to contact some big shot Fixer, maybe we should try to find out how they are doing and see if they made contact yet. I lost a bunch of my gear in the plane crash, and I need to stock back up, although at least my cyberdeck and portable computer survived."

OOC: For the sake of simplicity, we'll say you just explained your plan to the other two, and it is a good plan. Before I go on, this brings up a new point, how am I going to deal with payment. Some people don't have the sourcebook, some people only have the sourcebook (me), and some people have all the supplementry material as well. I figured we would use a lax forum style, if we need it, we get it somehow, but if anyone thinks they can work out a system of payment that might work for everyone, PM me with ideas, otherwise I'll just go with the lax 'If you need it, you got it somehow.'

Fixer Group
As Covenant and Heart entered the club, dancing people and strobing lights were everywhere, while a futaristic-pop played as the background noise, drowning out all other noise. They needed to try to meet up with someone who might know about this Fixer, so they headed to the bar and waited. Soon a scrawny looking street punkish fellow came up and said, "Heard from Drock at the door, you two looking to see Torn?" After agreeing, the fellow led them into the back, blissfully soundproofed against the music, and into a room with two humans and two elves.

Demon with a Glass Hand

(OCC: Withing reason, I would perfer a 'you need it? You got it!' approach. Such as now. I need to request that during all the legwork between 'chapters' the teams exchanged cell #s. That way I could contact the Fixer group easily, without us having to explain in length how we tracked them down. There are some areas of the plan that are sketchy, such as the fiber optics. Maybe it would work better if we placed motion sensors on sewer gratings, etc. That, and the whole paying off Lonestar. Those guys are scum, but we would have to pay them off with a tidy sum if we were to ensure that they wouldn't turn on us. I figured that could be done with the 1,500 that Conrad has on hand, plus some of the spoils.

Anyways, that can all some later. My initial request, before I 'jack out,' is to have a cell # and perhaps a safehouse that we can all use. Sound fair?)

Conrad tried to make it very clear, "The plan is rough. I by no means consider myslef some sort of leader here. If you spot a flaw, vocalize it. If you can come up with an easier, cheaper way to do this, vocalize it.

Angela, though I have no doubt that you are excellent at infiltrations, I cannot in good conscience send you into enemy territory without at least a little recon. That, and I'm still on the job. Until my contract terminates, you and Shocker are my responsibility, okay? We'll see about your idea of aquiring that equipment in a while, deal? The other team set out to chase down a Fixer. If we can contact them, we may have a way of getting everything we need for nearly free."

He smiled at them both. "This is going to be fun!"

OOC: Alright, I'll see what I can manage. I'll have a little creative story re-write since I was vague about what the runners did last night.

The runners talked for a bit, then got another taxi and left. In the car, the cellphone Mendel had bought and forgotten about started ringing, and when he picked up it was Drek. After a short discussion of each other's status, and a question about cellphone numbers, Mendel hung up. He quickly explained that Covenant and Heart were inside, that Drek was watching out, and that it seemed to be going alright so far. They headed back to the low rent apartment they had gotten as a temperary safehouse since it was cheap and available, and began to plan out the run.

OOC: There, now at least one person on each side has a cell-phone, and the numbers, and we have a safehouse arranged, although it may get a little crowded when the others show up...

"No doubt it'll be. To tell you the truth, this is my first run; at least, my first civilian run, so I'm not too sure what to expect. While I'm touched by your cocnern for my safety, I'd like to point out that in a way, I am your recon."

She paused, then continued.

"Still, while I doubt these guys will have enough cash on hand to hire a mage capable of picking me up, no point in assuming it. Will Mendel be doing scouting with a drone? Might save us some trouble if he did."

Demon with a Glass Hand
01-05-2004, 01:22 AM
"That's a very good suggestion. But, actually ... Mendel you only 'deck,' don't you?" Conrad scratched his head, and ruminated for a few minutes.

"Okay, we might be able to do it this way: We get a hold of the others and see if they've heard from Minkus. If I remember properly, he was a vehicle rigger. Maybe we could get a spider drone fixed with some optics or something. If not there is always the posibility of borrowing a SecureBot (OCC:sort of a mini flying camera with guns) from a Lonestar patrol ... maybe ..." Scratching his chin now, he seemed to finally come around to the idea that Angela would be the best recon they could probably get for the sewers.

"Failing all that, Angela, you could provide recon -Pictures, video feed, maybe set up some cameras around the safehouse- but you would need either myself of Mendel to back youup via codec. Probably Mendel. It would be best if I was ready to back you up at a moments notice in case something went wrong ... but, yeah ... that seems to be a good course to take. Good call on the drone, though. Hopefully we can get one in time ..."

(OCC:And that's it for me. Early day of work tommorow, so I'm outta here! Ciao, chummers!)

ooc-That's what I get for going away for half a day.

Honestly, he didn't know why he was here. He should've been smarter to just go into a situation with no way to contact or signal for backup. Not only does it put him in danger, but Drek as well.

He didn't really care for Ark, not after the way the other acted.

In any case, he was here now and he couldn't just get up and leave. No telling how these people would react. The only thing to do now was to talk. "Hello, I'm Heart. One of you is Torn, I presume?"

The 4 figures spared a quick glance at each other and one of the humans said, "One of us might be Torn. You said Torn was expecting you when you tried to get in, yet you knew Torn would find out. You are obviously Shadowrunners from your gear and cyberware, yet you tried to hide that too." After a few seocnds of awkward silence, an elf laughed and said, "It would probably been easier on you if you had said you had heard of Torn's reputation as a Fixer and was looking for a good Fixer since you are new to town. Shadowrunners are so arrogant these days. Anyway, none of us are Torn, he will be here shortly. We are here to find out what you need and if it is even worth Torn's time. You are obviously looking for a vehicle and contacts if you are new, and you are most likely looking for some running gear, depending on how new you are. So, how new are you?"

ooc-It may seem like Truance is putting all the blame on SS' guy, and he is. As stated earlier he doesn't like the guy, and he doesn't want to die or ruin any reputation he may have. Killing two birds in one stone...don't kill him.

Truance smiled. "I've been doing this thing for a few years, though I dare not say I am an expert in my field. This guy," he said, pointing at Covenant, "I have no clue. He's the one who said Torn was expecting us by the way, before I could get a say in. Don't pay attention to anything he says, it'll either give you a headache or a premature grave.

"Anyway, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" Truance once again smiled. "People call me Heart, former member of the now disbanded Red. This man beside me is called Covenant, and you may or may not meet the rest of the team later. Pleasure to meet you.

"Also, for further reference, I would like you to note that I personally did not hide my identity or profession. It was an unfortunate mistake on my friend's part, and he won't make it again. I want you to trust us.

"Now let's get down business," he continued, frowning. "Me and my friends are all Bennies, as far as I know this is all our first time in Chicago.

"As you suspected we're looking for contacts and vehicles, and any jobs if you're hiring for that matter. As for gear, I would have to consult my colleagues on that matter."

He sighed. "Any monetary issues will be handled by either me or a close associate."

"I can do astral scouting, but I'm worried about rogue elementals and spirits. I can deal with most of them easy enough, but if they have anyone with astral sight, they'll pick up on the magical carnage and bolt. That's why I was thinking of a two-pronged approach - we go in, phyically, while we have a drone and I get a pet spirit to scout the place out for us. If they get spooked, they'll reveal themselves; if they don't, we'll find them eventually. The important thing is that we only reveal ourselves when we're right on top of them."

The individuals were impressed by Heart. "Very well, it seems you are in quite a bit of need, and if there are more of you that will be plenty of buisness. Here is Torn's card," He handed Heart and Covenant two cards each, each looking like a simple buisness card, but after giving the basic info about the bar and regular stuff, it had written in gold 'Valued Customer'. "Torn will be here in a moment to continue negotiations. We can get you almost anything you need through Torn's network of contacts, but we can not get you jobs, however we can point you to individuals that can give you jobs. Like I said, negotiations will continue when Torn gets here, now excuse us," The four figures rose as one and left, leaving Heart and Covenant alone in the room.

OOC: Johnson Group is now turning into the Run Group since they are planning out and preparing the run. Quick question, after everyone gets back together, do you want me to fast forward past getting and setting up all the gear to the day that the gangers are coming out, shortly before they leave their safehouse?

"Sorry guys, I'm just not set up for rigging drones, but if you can set up the surveillance I need and hook it into the Matrix, I can definatly keep an eye on them that way. I'll just have to watch out, if they have a wire they can break into there and get their own decker into the Matrix, it could be a nasty trick trying to keep him from catching our surveillance, and if I confront him they will know something is up." Mendel said, now that he was discussing topics he was the expert in, he wasn't so shakey and jittery.

Outside, Drek and the Ork were having quite a conversation. "Well you see chummer," the ork started, "That's a nice rocket launcher you got there, but it's a pretty old model. What your going to want to look for, is find a good weapons dealer, one of the best, and ask for an IWS Multi-Launcher. It will cost you a pretty penny, and it seems you and your friends are either low on cash and unwise, or high on cash and more experienced then you look if your coming to see Torn first. No, no need to be suspicious, he's not gonna make you fight in any deathsports or anything, but he ain't cheap for his services. Either way, after you get some runs under you belt and some cash in you pocket, like I said, find a good black arms dealer, and get yourself an IWS since you seem to be a rocket sort. It carrys four missiles at once, and eliminates backblast which is a nasty problem if you want to use it indoors. I'm more of a HMG sort myself," he said, lifting his RPK HMG. "May not have the one hit punch of a rocket, but when a squad of corperate hitmen want your head, this baby will let a little light through them and still keep blazing away, good for situations when you know you'll be far outnumbered and need a heavy punch, it can even take out a vehicle or helicopter."

Inside, As Heart and Covenant sat, suddenly the door popped open again to let in a dwarf. His thick red beard was intricatly braided and tied, as was his long red hair, and the monacle he wore on one eye, along with the pipe, brown smokng jacket and nice clothes overall marked him as most likely being Torn, which was confirmed a second later then he said, "Greeting shadowrunners, you have finally gotten a little one on one time with Torn, one of the most well connected figures in Chicago. If you want anything installed, or if you need ammo, look for Jeff's Auto Repair shop, a few blocks that way towards the slums. He briefly questions the orks sanity that recommended him, but decides that hopefully this is good cover and not the sign that the owner is an idiot. He walks up to the shack and knocks on the wooden door about to fall off it's hinges. "Just a sec," he hears, and a few seconds later an elf answers the door. He has long white hair, green eyes, and has the frame of an elf, but instead of being some nature tree hugger, he has on overalls stained many times over and tools in all his pockets, and goggles on his head. This elf is most definatly a mechanic.

"What can I do for you sir?" the elf asks suspiciously.

Back at the Club...

"Well, bodyguard has excellent taste in gear! Follow me you two," Torn says, and they leave the room and start walking down the hall, with Torn explaining as they go.

"Hmm, well I know a good mechanic that might get you some vehicles, but you have to understand, Chicago is still sane, but it seems on the brink. The containment zone, the bugs, the Zoners, everyone is on edge, and with no new vehicles coming in, the only option is either stealing, which will get real expensive real fast, or praying to your diety of choice that he actualy has those vehicles. Now, a lot of the rest is definatly runner gear, and we won't have too much trouble getting those, but in vehicles, you may have to take what you can get."

Demon with a Glass Hand

Conrad was lost in thought as he stared out the taxi window. Streetlights blurring, shadows stretching and receding, the atmosphere of Chicago was of a haunted city.

Haunted, that is, with things worse then ghosts. Humankind, for instance.

His head snapped up. He was alert. Focused. The thing that had been bothering him about the run was now ever so clear.

"Yakuza. Mafia. Triad." Turning to face Angela and Mendel his face was a mask of concern and concentration. "I don't know what those names mean to you, mean to people on the streets of Chicago, but to me they mean Power. Influence. People not to be screwed with. We tread on dangerous ground here.

We're new in town. Just a couple of faces in a crowd. We know drek about Chicago, and everyone can smell that on us. Like it's a taint. The Mafia, Yakuza, and Triad are all different factions and they're all vying for a piece of Chicago. A couple of newcomers come in and start moving for any of the sides and that could mean trouble."

His eyes were glassy. He was focused on a thought far away in his mind. He was playing with it. Turning it upsidedown, around, and examining it from all sides. "No one is to be harmed on this run. We start capping of Yakuza, and we'll be painting big ass target signs on our heads. The Yakuza won't forget, and we'll be marked. Thusly, we treat this as a very delicate run. All bullets will be gels, or tranqs. We will use gas grenades to flush them out, or to stun them, and we'll leave the sewer without casualities on either side. If at all possible, though unlikely, we'll disarm them and collect the bag after negotiating to them in a civilized manner. If we are to be remembered by any of the sides - Mafia, Yakuza, Triad, whomever- it will be because we are proffesionals. Ronin shadowrunners!"

The light in the back of his eyes burning white cold he looked at the two of them for the first time since he started working the thought over in his mind. "Sound fair?"

Another thought entered his head. How was Doc and Covenant doing with the fixer? Phoning the number into his wrist phone he attempted to get a hold of them.

As the cell buzzed softly he formed the list of equipment that they would need.

(OOC:Sorry guys if I'm getting a little excited here. I'm really not trying to be team leader. I'm just having a lot of fun and the ideas won't stop flowing!
Edit: I think it would be up to you, Zero, who I would reach. I have no idea who had the phone in the fixer group.)

Mendel looked at Conrad and said, "Sounds sort of like lofty goals there, but can we pull of something that big? It sounds sort of crazy, but we don't want to make any of the big gangs angry at us either."

Fixer Group - Club
As they walked down the corridor, suddenly Covenant started beeping. Torn stopped and said, "Seems like you do have friends. You should probably answer that before we continue."

The elf looked at Drek for a sec, then broke into a wide grin and said, "Heh, glad to hear Dorug's doing alright, haven't heard from the big lug in quite a while. So, what are you looking for Chummer, I can assume since Dorug recommended you you're looking for some firepower, right?"

Conrad nodded. "The goal of this mission should be to not make any premature enemies of the big factions in Chicago. We're stuck here for a while so we might as well get cozy."

(OOC: This list of stuff we will need for this mission are as follows:

1. Fiber Optic Micro Cameras - Compact, yet efficent, these cameras have an 'eye' view of about 90 degrees. The can easily be attached to walls or ceilings and are small enough that they will not attract attention if hidden in the shadows or out of view. They can send information of what they see [like security cameras, only remote] back to a 'Deck' though resolution and frame rate is choppy. We would also need the software to run such a program from Mendel's deck.

2. 8x Ear Codecs with a main 'terminal' that would be installed on Mendel's deck. From a decent position he could regulate information, send and recieve audio messages in real time just like a walky talky. Ear codec also picks up audio from it's end and can send messages back if tiny button on the unit is pressed by wearer. Software not needed. Not plugged into Mendel's deck, but instead comes with its own control deck [about the size of a suitcase].

3. Motion detector bugs. These are small, about the size of a nickle, and are relatively sensitive, but only when moved. These would be placed on doors or manhole covers. If the unit is moved it sends a signal back to Mendel's deck. Software needed.

4. Tranq Guns/Gel Rounds/Gas Grenades with detonators/Stun batons

5. Deck upgrades for Mendel's deck. Hacking programs, IC protection, etc.

Yeah, that should be good. The rest is survielance and paying off a couple of Lonestar patrols.)

OOC: That's an expensive list for a bunch of runners with almost no nuyen...

Fixer Group - Auto Shop
"You want to browse, eh? Wll, if it wasn't Durog I would say no nuyen, no look, but I will ask is there anything specific you're looking for at least, and I might give you a look at my stock," Jeff the elf said, motioning for Drek to come inside as he walked in.

Fixer Group - Club
Covenant read the list off to Torn, who cackled and said, "Heh, all that you say? Chummers, I hope you have a real good line of credit, because all that will cost you a pretty penny, and we haven't even gotten around to transportation yet, but truth be known, I have none of it. Just call me the Shadowrunners ad agency, cause other fixers come to me, and I give out names to shadowrunners, and I know someone that can get you all that gear. There is an ork, goes by the name of Diesal. Used to be a big decker in these parts, but went through too many battle wounds and hit his cyber limit since the poor guy couldn't accept cloned organs for some reason. Didn't want to take a stray bullet and die because there was no way to save him, bleeding to death from internal injuries, so he set up shop as a fixer for those in need of anything electronic. He works out of an apartment in the slums, take a taxi to this location." Torn gives Heart and Covenant the instructions they need to find Diesal, along with a map with his apartment marked on it. "So long chummers, and if you live long enough to survive your first run, I hope to do more buisness with you, since this is on credit as your first transaction with me." With that, Heart and Covenant found themselves escort by Torn's guards back to the club, where they made their way outside.

"Great. Thanks Covenant. Can I get that address from you?" Conrad scribbled down on a scrap piece of paper the instructions to get to Diesal.

"Okay. We've got a lead on a fixer," He relayed to Angela and Mendel. "We seem him tonight, meet up with the others and see what we can do about scraping together the cash to pay for all this stuff."

(OOC: Zero, when Torn mentioned that 'this transaction is on credit' did that mean we would get the equipment from Diesal for free [for now] and if not, what did that mean?)

Conrad held up the credstick he was given by the Brit Johnson. "This has 1,500 nuyen on it. I have an address to a safehouse where my bike is. I'm not sure what the 'streetindex' for it is, but we could use it as collateral until after we get the cred to pay for this stuff."

Lady Luck had Triple Ds ...

"This equipment won't just come in handy for this one mission, mind you. This stuff will be useful for our subsequent runs, too." A big toothy grin. He was having fun. "This is going to be a lot of fun!"

OOC: Torn is basically a finder, shadowrunners go to him for equipment, and he has info on almost every fixer in the city that can supply the equipment needed, so he knows just about any person that has anything. Of course, his doesn't do it out of the kindness of his own heart, and he has a fee for finding contacts that can supply what is needed, but since we are new and this is our first meeting with him, he has put his first finder's fee on 'credit', and we had better save some nuyen for him later if we want to find any more contacts through him, and he is the front door to all the best contacts in the city.

Run Group
The taxi pulled up to a run down apartment building in the middle of the slums, and the three runners went inside. They traversed up the stairs (none of them trusted the elevator) and made their way to the apartment. After making sure it was right, Conrad knocked on the door. "Oh, someone better have some big nuyen if you want to get an IWS, they are a nice as people say, but they don't come cheap. A light launcher, with a strong punch, and has an ammo capacity of four missiles instead of one so you can fire more with no backblast. I don't have one here, but I can get one when your ready to buy it, just give me a few days in advance. As for mass fire, I do have something youmight be interested in in that department." Jeff said.

He heads over to a meager kitchen and with a heave and a pull, he moves the oven out of the way. He gets behind it and pulls up one of the metal plates that makes up his floor in the ramshackle house, and pulls out a nice new Ingram Valiant Light Machine Gun, wtih laser sight on bottom, and a belt feeder for full auto. "This is a nice all around weapon. It's relativly cheap at 1,500 Nuyen considering what your IWS will cost, and it will frag anything with less armor than a corperate guard in security armor or a vehicle just about. The laser sight helps with distance aim, and the belt feeder let's you keep up constant fire rate. I can let it go for 1,800 nuyen with plenty of ammo if you can scrape that up after your mission."

Jeff said, "Well, it's meant to be light. It has more than enough punch for anything you would need right now, though in the future if you want serious weaponry you'll have to get a hold of a MMG or HMG, but this LMG shoud do fine for you for now. As for a smartlink, I can install one on the bottom of the guns since it negates the laser sight. Let's see, minus the sight, plus the smartlink, you're looking at about 2200 Nuyen right there chummer. Anyway, if your serious about getting it, I'll keep it here and fix it up for you, and you can pick it up when you get the Nuyen together, deal chummer?"

He paused, looking around. "Hey, is it just me or did that other guy go missing?" Indeed, Drek had disappeared. He's supposed to be here...

His hand unconsciously reached for his gun, looking for any sign of danger. "Covenant, do you sense anything suspicious? I don't see any signs of a firefight or struggle, do you?" What...happened? He better not just have run off.

"Maybe not privacy so much as security. You never know whos out there out to get you, it's a dog eat dog wolrd in the shadows, and you never know what gang, corperation, runner, or random street thug wants a piece of you..." Mendel replied.

The ork shrugged and went back to his shelves, looking for all the electronics gear the group had requested. "Hey, what level did you want these, I got some cheap level twos here you might want."

"You trying to sell us garbage?! At least a level four is in order for any run." Mendel responded.

"Meh, your loss, you all seemed strapped for cash right now, figured you'd take what you can get, and I don't think you friends would like to lose all their gear because someone only wanted premium goods."

"We'll ace this run and pay you back, or at least put down a big downpayment. There, done." Mendel stepped back from his computer that was hooked to his cyberdeck.

Diesal took one look at his files and said, "Chummer, you're computer is weighed down with fossils. I can upgrade every one of these for almost nothing."

Mendel was, of course, suspicious, but said, "What do you have in mind?"

Diesal went to his shelves and came back with a box of program chips. He picked through quickly and soon had a good sized stack of chips. "Well call it, 800 Nuyen for the lot of these. I've been having trouble getting rid of them, there so old, but there better than what you have."

Mendel thought carefully then said, "I want to review all of them first, THEN we'll talk price." Diesal pushed the pile towards him and put the box back, while Mendel sat down, popped in the first chip, and began reviewing the program code by code while his anti-virus programs scanned it carefully.
