Best GBA Game: Super Mario Advance 4
Best Racing/Sports Game: Project Gotham 2
Best RPG: Fire Emblem
Best Action/Adventure Game: Beyond Good and Evil
Best Shooter: Why must you ask me to choose?! Rainbow Six:3
Best Fighting Game: Soul Calibur 2

If you have any other random categories to add, feel free to do so :-)

'Fire Emblem'?! You have lived a deprived life if you don't say...

Best RPG: Knights of the Old Republic

That's RPG gold for PC and Xbox (I have the PC version myself)

I'm to lazy to think up other stuff now, and I haven't bought that many games this year, but I'll think up more stuff later.

Best GC Game: Super Smash Bros. Melee
No, that came out in 2001. This is best of 2003. It doesn't count.

Best GC Game: Viewtiful Joe.

Way too many games this year.

Zone of the Enders 2, Guilty Gear X2, Castlevania (Both AoS and LoI), FF Tactics Advance, Sword of Mana, Wind Waker, Ikaruga, Viewtiful Joe, Xenosaga E1, Mario Kart DD, SoulCalibur 2... I think that's most of the ones I bought or played extensively this year. Of course, I'm leaving a ton of shit out, but then there's been no shortage of quality gaming this year.

IHMN-

You're a bit late on SSBM... Wasn't that a launch title?

It's that good...

If you want an offical answer though...

Best GC Game: Mario Kart Double Dash

I'll have to think hard about this one. Keep in mind I can only pick games I have played, so many PS2 and XBox games will be left out.

OK, I started thinking about this too hard. I've been way out of the loop since I quit GameStop. I wouldn't be able to come up with a good list without a comprehensive list of all the titles released in 2003. However after thinking about Best PC Game and Best RPG, I realized that I've been playing NeverWinter Nights nearly non-stop since it came out in 2002.

I vote Fire Emblem for Best "One More Turn Syndrome" Game, but that's just me.

Best GC Game: Viewtiful Joe.

YES!!! Henshin-a-go-go, baby! The only problem with this game is the lack of multi-player. Although co-op VJ would be absolutel VIEWTIFUL (yes, I know I'm getting repetitive) the one-player experience is good enough...besides, we need something to look forward to for the sequel.

I think to buy Viewtiful Joe... Even after getting it, Mario Kart would still probably be better. Atleast in the Multiplayer department it's #1 (Even though SSBM is better... Who cares about years...)

*ahem*
Prince of Persia. Prince of Persia. Prince of Persia.

this game has pretty much ruined all other platformers for me. I tried playing Jak II, and it was like eating a slice of wonderbread after a whole loaf of hot homemade bread.

im torn between Advanced Wars II and Fire Emblem for best strategy. of course, i havn't played FFTA yet, so i can't comment on that.

Recently, I played my cousin's copy of FFT:A, and I'd like to say two things right now:
1) I apologize for being biased against it, you should really play a game before judging it.
2) BUY IT NOW!!! IT IS THAT GOOD!!!

Yes, this little cartridge packs a bigger punch than you might expect. My cousin (let's call him 'J-Unit') has spent over 50 hours on that game, and he says he barely made a dent in it. That either means that J-Unit is a slow gamer, or this thing has lots of gametime.

Verdict: Try it. You'll thank me later.

Since I had to base it off my own experience (and I've spent most of 2003 without money) I was quite limited. I apologize.

I think it's kinda unfair to put a game like Soul Calibur II as the best GC game when it also came out for XBOX and PS2. I know because it had link it was a step above the others, but it was still mostly the same game. I nominate a new catagory.

Best Multi-Platform Game

This way, only "GameCube only" games would go under the "Best GC Game" catagory. Same with PS2 and XBOX.

Best Fighting:ZOE: The Second Runner

Eh? Fighting game? Not to take away from ZOE2, it's one fine piece o' videa-gaming (And anything with the Vic Viper automatically scores big points). But it's much more of an action game than it is fighting, at least from what I played.

Besides, we all know Guilty Gear X2 is the best fighting game of 2003... :D

Best Computer Game of 2003:
Runaway: A Road Adventure (a really great computer adventure game in a time when the computer adventure game genre is practically dead).

Best PS2 Game of 2003:
Jak 2 (Great story, decent game play, and great platformer.)

Best GameCube Game of 2003:
Wind Waker (great game overall, but it could have been a bit more challenging)

No other systems owned, thus no selections.

Soul Calibur II (game cube version) and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! most certainly. SC mostly because it has Link and he is much better in it than the last game he was in (I'm not the least bit partial to Wind Waker) and Mario Kart because, come on, Nintendo doesn't know how to make a bad Mario Kart game.

actualy, i guess i have to retract my "underdog" award for Silent Storm. i turns out the the game isnt being officialy released untill febuary or something. which is wierd because ive had it for two months now. go piracy!
