When is Adult swim going to get off their asses and get ahold of the Tick cartoon show?
Its my favorite show ever. And comedy central hasn't shown it since they first got it years ago. Whats the F'n deal? Who owns it and why aren't they playing it?

i think fox does, but instead of playing the cartoon they had that moronic rick moranis play the tick in a filmed "the tick" series. and oh what a disaster it was, rick obviously either knows nothing of the tick or he just doesn't care(same goes for the director)

Consider The Tick dead and buried, my friend.
Spoooooooooooon...

I'd like to see the Tick on Adult Swim. They should use it to replace Reign. Anything is better than that.

I can think of a few things worse than Reign... but they all involve large hairy russian men mating... so... they probably don't count.
On Topic: The Tick is one of my favorite cartoons. How could anyone NOT love it? His battle cry is "SPOON!" for godsake! Not to mention the other super heros... sewer urchin, the human bullet... and I believe Fox and CN are owned by the same company, so getting the rights for Cartoon Network to continue the Tick cartoon shouldn't be too hard.

Actually, Fox is owned by Fox, and CN is owned by Time-Warner. I don't really think that matters much though, as CN already got Futurama and Family Guy, why can't they get The Tick? Also, if CN does get The Tick, it'll be practically the only show on Adult Swim that has it's own video game. Not like it really matters, just thought I'd mention it...
Anyway, since I was young at the time, I only have vague memories of The Tick, but I do remember that it was hilarious. Though I definitely need a refresher.

couple of years ago, Comedy Central used to run the Tick late at night (alongside The Critic, another great Fox cartoon series). So I think CC might still own the rights to The Tick.

I don't think CC owns the rights to the Tick. CC shows SNL episodes, but NBC still owns the rights to them. So, Fox probably still owns the rights to the Tick.

I only remember them showing about ten or so episodes myself. Though the one that sticks out best is th eone where the Tick gets turned into a chicken by an evil kid scientist.

Protoclown was by far the best episode.

Comedy Central does/did have the tick and I think they just lost the SNL rights to E! network.
But man the tick was forking great. Just about every episode was the best in it own way.
One of my favorites is the episode where the Terror forms his league of villains that include the Man eating cow, who no one has actually seen eat a man, Joesph Stalin, who turned out just to be a guy who looked like Joesph Stalin, some alien, and the One Ton Man who's side kick is handy the hand puppet who is smarter than him.
Best line of the Show
"The Tick is at home crying in his room like a guy from Chile." -One Ton Man
"No you idiot it's Crying in his tent like Achilles. Read a book!" -Handy

The tick had some of the greatest lines ever. HOWEVERT if I recall Rick Moranis did not play the tick in the filmed series..Although Im not sure of the actors name..Rick Moranis is the guy from Honey I shrunk the Kids...the guy who played the tick is the same guy that does voice overs for Brock, from Venture Bros. and he also did the voice overs for Crunk, from "The Emperor's New Groove"..and he is extremely FN Hilarious.

The Guy who played Putty from Seinfeld was the tick in the live action show. and that show was pretty funny too. Not as much as the Cartoon but I'm eventually going to buy the DVD...

whatever his name was he obviously knew nothing about the tick or how he should be played, but i heard that his name was rick moranis. but yeah it was putty, what i don't understand is that if he played putty so well why couldn't he at least try to do the tick right?
anyway because the filmed version was on fox AFTER comedy central quit playing the tick i'd say fox owns the rights

CC still shows SNL.[/FYI]
Course, this brings up the question: Who is better, The Tick and his friends, or the Justice League?
My answer: The Tick. The other guys are just way too serious about their work.

Are you sure Comedy Central still shows SNL? It's usually on all the time but hasn't been on since that New years marathon.
The E! Network was running ads that they were the only channel with SNL(reruns).
And CC has been running Kids in the Hall Reruns like mad lately.

E! and CC share SNL. E! shows the old ones (older than 5 years), CC shows the new ones (less than 5 years old).
On topic: The Tick pwns the Justice League.
And I reinterate: Adult Swim needs to get The Tick, cus the tick is teh s uck.

This is still off topic but are you sure? E! has been runing ads gloating that they are the only network with SNL.
"If you see SNL its on E!"
And comedy central hasn't been running it lately that I've seen... but I have saeen Kids in the Hall and Mad TV every second of the day on CC...

Just checked comdeycentral.com (http://www.comdeycentral.com). You're right. They stopped showing SNL.

Didn't see that coming. Not that I care, mind you...
Well. I will miss the chance to catch re-runs of the Jeopardy sketches. I suppose I could always start watching E!, but, you know, I, uh, won't. For reasons no greater than I'm not aware what channel my cable has it on.
