Hi, I want to start a website for this comic I'm doing, but sites cost money to run so I don't want to go gallivanting about the net with a comic that will only reward me with self-satisfaction and no regular visitors. I have some pages up on a free host for now. Can I please have some constructive criticism? Comments and suggestions are all welcome, just keep it to an intelligent level with evidence backing any claims made.
Thank you in advance.

Well, if it's supposed to be a humorous comic, I didn't laugh. If it's supposed to be dramatic, it's a good start. It's pretty enough, with attractive and easy to read fonts. It's easy to see who's talking.
I guess it'd depend on how often and how reliably you updated. The story could be very entertaining, but, from what there is, I can take it or leave it.Comments and suggestions are all welcome, just keep it to an intelligent level with evidence backing any claims made. And insulting the intellectual level of a forum you're new to isn't an effective way to make friends. It's actually a very poor way of making friends. EDIT: More clearly, these forums aren't your average den of stupidity and chat-speak. A cursory look over a few threads (outside of the 8-bit Theater forum) would reveal this. Therefore, insinuating that anyone on these boards "would enter things like 'omg yu00r comic suXX0rz roflol'" is indeed an insult, as it demonstrates his apparent belief that these forums are similar to Gaia and other awful places. I just think he should give us and the mods some credit.

First... what?! and second...... WHAT?! How is that insulting? He wanted to make sure no one would enter things like "omg yu00r comic suXX0rz roflol".. he wasn't insulting the forums.
and that comic was awesome. It takes me hours to get one episode of Subliminal Catastrophe mastered, and I have to inject comedy from someone else. As far as I'm concerned, that's an awesome comic from what it's got. If it gets updated frequently, I want to see it. That comic was funny too. Good job.
Now post on my Subliminal Catastrophe thread. > >

Not bad, not bad. Not amazing, but not bad. The text bubbles on the bottom of page 5 are a little confusing to figure out what order they are talking in.

omg yu00r comic suXX0rz roflol!
Sorry, had to be done.
Noe, seriously, this is quite a quality piece of work you got here. Probably won't reinvent the wheel (or however that saying goes), but not to bad, especually if your new to the whole "sprite comic-ing" thing.
Some parts where better than others, though. (I enjoyed the part where the text was being taken away by the *snarf*ing. Very imaginative.) Needs a bit of tweaking, but good nonetheless.
I give it one-and-a-half thumbs up.

I was not trying to be insulting. I'm sorry you took it in that manner.
Thanks for the opinions, guys. Sorry it took me soo long to reply. I had some computer issues... Windows always finds some way to crash.

My 2 cents...
I didn't laugh, I didn't cry, in fact there was little emotion at all. I was a little bored. This is something I would read at work, when all my other options of internet fun have been exhausted, it would be a last resort to retain sanity. Why, you may ask, would this be my opinion. Well first off, I am not a fan of game cross-overs (placing Squall in Chrono Trigger land, to me, is just bad). Secondly, you have made Squall to be some tempormental twit (as in, his emotions are attached very loosley, or he gets angry right quick like.. which ever way you want to express it). Now, I will admit, that I don't know a whole lot about Squall, but it has been my impression that he doesn't just go into a flying rage for little to no reason. All in all, I would give it a 3 out of 10, and that is mostly for look and design (both of which you had done quite well. It was fairly easy to read, and the viusals were done nicely), but I, personally, would not be a avid reader if this were a series.

I agree with Monkey. I also thought squall needs more definition, as a sprite. I mean especially up close he looks all garbled to me. Needs more/better jokes to be entertaining for me.

I portrayed Squall in this manner because he's the type who likes quiet environments in which he can concentrate on his thoughts. The fact that there is so much comotion going about drives him to the point of rage. On top of that, he's worried about his friends and wants to return to them as soon as possible. The Old Man is dragging on the conversation much longer than Squall would like.
I suppose I didn't define these aspects clearly enough... Thanks for pointing it out. I'll try to fit Squall more into his character or scrap the idea entirely and get a custom character to fit the role. I would have done that from the start, but I really wanted to do something with Squall.

If you want to use squall, you should try to make him act more like his character in the game (that's only if you want to appease die hard FF fans). If you want to keep the current storyline, it might be a good idea to use a different character or make up your own for that role. That's just what I think though :p
