View Full Version : So, how's your spam box looking these days?

Nowadays, we have relatively good filters to keep this junk out of our lives, but it's still amusing to read. How's the spam you're getting these days?

Mine probably isn't as bad as some peoples' around here, but I still find it vaguely amusing:

It's as if complete and utter inanity managed to coalesce with foreign languages and horrible stereotypes to form the fabled Fountain of Stupid.

I don't know what everyone is doing. I got under ten spam mails in all my years on the internet.

Still, some good can come off spam.

I have 0 spam. Thank you, G-Mail!

Seriously, when I had yahoo, I was getting 15 messages a minute. Then, I switched to G-Mail, and I haven't gotten one yet!

Yay me.

As Dvorak would say: "I get--no--spam!"

I really don't. Unless you're very prolific to the point of stupidity on the Internet, you'll be fine. I'll admit it's a problem, but with even mildly good e-mail services like GMail you're set.

I've been on hotmail for about a year now and I have'nt gotten that many spam letters...like 20 in a year....but my sister, she gets like 13 of them every day!!and she's on hotmail too...maybe it's because her e-mail starts with ''sexy''...I don't know...

Well, I've got 12 emails in my spam box on gmail. All of them are from things I signed up for and am just too lazy to unsubscribe to. I can't ever remember getting an email from someone I didn't know, or something I didn't sign up for.

I guess we all just rock.

I get no spam on my G-Mail account. I sign up to everything that I don't know is totally secure with my yahoo. Then I check my yahoo about every two weeks, delete all my xanga emails, and look for something coherent. Friends email me on my G-Mail. Works out ofr me =p

Well I don't bother reading much of it myself, mostly I delete it. Still, I have recieved a few from Garland, oddly enough. Of course, with my poor memory I can't remember what any of them were about, I do recall forwarding one of them to Brian however.

Garland, will your evil know no end?

Currently in my spam box on my yahoo account I have 200. Whee.

I think someone signed me up for something when they got mad at me or something. Either that or spam just loves my email.

On my hotmail account, I get about one a day. On my g-mail I get zerrro. And then I check my yahoo about once a month and I get like 2000.

Oh god the mail is taking over my freaking E-box. I check my E-mail every other week and by that time all my E-accounts are crowded with over 200 spam mails... so I just open the thing to narrow it down to the people I know. So that usualy leads to NO ONE!

I've had a few pop in every once in a while, but for some reason I'm getting spam e-mail from colleges. I have a college right down the freaking road from my, why in God's name would I want to go to college in Iowa or California?

I need to find out how in the world they got my e-mail address. I only use my e-mail for signing up for forums and a few MSN/Yahoo groups. And I highly doubt any of them would bother selling my e-mail to a college of all things.

I use my old Hotmail account as my sacrifical lamb when I have to sign up for stuff on the Net (message boards, stores and the like), so that is my designated "Spam" box. I get a few a day.

My Gmail, despite the fact I've never signed up for anything with it, still manages to get some every so often.

I've gotten less than five in my life. The only spamail I recall getting was some fairly well-written story/plight...

Basically, some dude was a prince or an heir to a massive company fortune in Africa or something like that, and wanted me to donate money for the purpose of "Getting him to Africa to claim what was rightfully his", stating that I'd get a fair percentage of the money in thanks...

It got deleted, of course, but it was certainly amusing.

I always get this kind of stories.

Teenage girls who are drug addicts, babies with cancer, abandoned dogs, extremely popular products hiding a great evil, global conspiracies, poor furry animals who turn into coats, and many more. They're everywhere.

I haven't got spam in a while, though... not even Reader's Digest is bothering me with a contest which "I have already won." Wow.
