I just saw this movie named Donnie Darko. It doesn't seem to be known much but when I first saw it at my friends house I was totally surprised. This movie goes into serius detail about time travel and ect. but not in a boring why like a tape you would see in science class and not out of the question wierd like back to the future. I'm putting this here for all those who have seen it to discuss its ups and downs and those who havnt seen it BUY IT!!! Or atleast rent it. I strongly reccomend this movie to ANYONE! You can't do much on the website www.donniedarko.com if you havnt watched it and there is good reason that it has probably become a sorta cult film and interested many. TIME CONTROLS YOU TO SEE IT! IT IS UNESCAPABLE! :bmage:

Truly one of the best movies ever, especially in connection with the website. If you only watch the movie, you think you understand it, but only if you read the book on the site, you really do; the information from the movie alone at best give you an good idea in comparison. Not to say the movie won't make any sense without the site, it really does, but the site provides a more in-depth understanding. Is it possible I talk about the website too much?
Anyways... I loved the soundtrack, too. It's so fitting. ("Mad World". Nuff said.)

Donnie Darko didn't get a lot of media recognition, and they didn't have a big enough budget to do a lot of advertising. Then when the movie came out it apparently confused a lot of people.
It really is an excellent movie though, I recommend watching it with the director's commentary to get some more in depth explanation (that and Jake Gyllenhaal is hilarious). *sits backs and stares at giant Donnie Darko poster--the one with the montage in the shape of Frank the bunny's head--above desk*

Donnie Darko is a great movie, I agree. I have heard that much like Rocky Horror Picture Show, you can go see midnight showings of Darko in theaters. I live in the middle of the woods, so I dont know this for certain, but that is what I've heard.
