Looking back...

I fear that many of the posters I once knew have faded from these forums, gone off on their own endeavors and such. It really is tiring sometimes, a generation on a forum like this can be as short as six months, suddenly you look around and many people you were fond of talking too aren't there anymore, they just faded away.

I resign to stay, at least for now, I may be an old timer when it comes to the 8-Bit forums, but they were the first I ever posted at, way back when we were still at EZBoards and the comics were still in the lower double digits, almost three years ago. I'm not bored with this place yet.

Man, I feel old. ^_^

So... who here still remembers the EZBoard days?

Three times at the EZ-Board place, and three times at TWC... I really am a sort of internet wanderer. I never seem to be capable of staying in one place, I always wind up dissapearing for a time...

Right on man! I may be a newbie to these forums, but I've left forums and been forgotten before. In may case, the only way I'm going to stop coming here is if the school network admin gets annoyed and bans this forum, just like they did with my favourite forums. Heres hoping it never happens! 8-Bit forums forever! Whoo!

Hey, I'm still here. I date back 2 years, man. August of 2001, when the comic was in the middle double digits! Right around the same time that Shiney and DarthZeth came in, in fact, and both of them are also still around!

And I plan to stick around for a while yet! I'll be a grand elder, or something!

But I must say that I do miss Leef.

Okay... I haven't been here in a week... All of a sudden 8bit's in a new place and I don't know which way's up...

Are there any posts on this new board explaining what happened so I can stop being as confused as I am?

I'm goin on a little over a year since I first registered at TWC. I bet most/all of you 8-bit people only recognize me from much later than that, if at all.

But oh well. I'm kind of here along with everyone else at the same time now. :P

I've only been at the forums for little over a year, right about the same time I discovered 8BT.

Change is inevitable however BM will always be evil and Fighter will always like swords. Red Mage will forever be a twink and Thief, the opportunistic, back-stabbing b******.

Let's not forget that, shall we?

Just not as prevalent after the whole Fuitad, Clanbob, thing. But I still checked in with the debates and stuff...

Now how come this place changed servers or whatever?

And where's the sleep symbol?

I assume they changed servers because they wanted more control over thier forums, had the server space and bandwidth to support them, and were tired of all the downtime Webcomic.net seemed to be plauged with.

It's nice to have your own, individual forums. Especially when you have total control (within the limitations of the programming) over what they do.

Either way, the law of forums have been proven again - you can have a forums link in the sidebar menu of your comic all you want, but people will not flock to it unless it's been linked in a news post. D:

Speaking of that... I wonder if they're gonna go and periodically delete all the inactive accounts with zero posts, ya know, the ones that go unused for months and just clutter the userlist.
