Fantasy world, blah, blah, blah.

Evil overlord is trying to conquer and/or destroy the world. So a group of heroes must arise and defeat him.

They did. They lost. Evil overlord obtained his power and conquered the world, and in the process, destroyed it.

For the next few years the Overlord crushed rebellions and established his kingdom.

A few years after that, our RP starts.

---

As the quick summary said, this RP takes place after an evil Overlord succeeded in taking over the world. It's a post-apocalypse fantasy world. Most of the land was scarred and ruined during the wars after the Overlord got his power. The world is mostly in chaos, since the Overlord's minions are allowed to do as they please as long as they do not challenge the Overlord, which they can't. Very few forests remain, due to wars, as fuel and destroyed obstacles.

Overlord gained his power 30 years before the RP starts, and established his empire 25 years before.

Locations:
Rough map of the world (http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/3843/world1oq.gif)

1) Overlord's Land - This is the personal continent of the Overlord. It's borders are heavily guarded, outsiders only come in as slaves to never return, and outside Overlord minions only go as far as the ports. So, it is unknown exactly what has become of the land, or what goes on inside of it.

2) Otherin - Previously the human's land, controlled by four Kingdoms. Now it's been torn apart. It consists of twenty unstable city-states, controlled by Obelisks. The humans inside are slaves to the Overlord's minions, but luckily the Obelisks are strict about rules and laws, so the minions cannot do as they please. At least, not were they can be seen.

3) Jade - Formerly the free-lands, with no overbearing government. Mostly populated by nomadic tribes of the Lycanthropes. Used to be filled with great plains and forests, but now are a barren wasteland. The previously free Lycanthropes are now forced to work on plantations, fertile land created by High Elves. Run by Obelisks.

4) Pu'the'li - Used to be an area of pure forests with ancient trees. Now it's burnt down graveyards. No signs of life are left anywhere in it.

5) Kalimdor - Mountain islands. The cliffs belonged to Harpies, and the caves belonged to The Blind Ones. Now all of the Harpies have been sent to the Overlord's Land, and The Blind One's have been exterminated. Various races are used as slaves to dig into the caves to precious natural resources that Kalimdor is rich in.

6) Gimrin - The dwarven frozen lands. The entire continent is one large city/forge, ruled by the Dwarf king. The resources from Kalimdor are taken here to supply the Overlord.

7) Unnamed Islands - Previously a continent, but this is where The Overlord obtained his power. In doing so, the entire continent was destroyed, and it created thousand of islands, mostly jungles. The Overlord's Troll minions were given the islands, who are slowly splitting off into tribes, each with their own island. So far they control half of them. Progress is slow since the Overlord's power corrupted the islands, twisting the continents former inhabitants, who are violent and wild.

Races: (Pictures will be provided, if underlined, it's a link to picture)

Humans (http://gd-tangent.tsunami-art.com/view.aspx?Rec=3) - Blah for attributes, you know them. They tried to stop the Overlord by uniting many of the races, as the Overlord did with his power, but failed and lost. Now they are surfs, mostly on Otherin.

Elves (http://eq2.ogaming.com/gallery/albums/album03/highelfmage_Claivern.jpg) - There used to by many types, but now most are extinct from the wars. Only the High Elves remain, who are small and meek, but magically empowered. The Overlord ended up killing most of them as he burned through Pu'the'li, but he made sure to spare some High Elves so they could magically restore Jade to feed his kingdom. Note that there may be survivors from the other types of elves.

Obelisk - Magical creatures living in stone statues. They float around with magic, and are extremely powerful. They are also obsessed with rules and regulations, and very strict about them. The Overlord created them to rule his more important lands.

Dwarves (http://www.warofthering.net/quintessential/movieshots/gimli_standing.jpg) - Small, sturdy, hairy people. They used to be allies with the humans, but when the Overlord came into power, they quickly sided with him. As long as they helped the Overlord with their forges, he would not destroy them. Plus, since he provided them with the resources from Kalimdor they have desired for centuries, they were happy to work for him.

Lycanthropes: They have three forms. Human form, where they are normal humans, and usually smaller then their hybrid form. Hybrid forms, their main forms, which are humanoid with animal aspects , furry and such. And their animal form, which is a normal animal.

Werecats - Tigers (http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1277/weretiger6xu.jpg), lions (http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6184/werelion0ba.jpg), jaguars (http://gd-tangent.tsunami-art.com/view.aspx?Rec=4), cheetah (http://gd-tangent.tsunami-art.com/view.aspx?Rec=6), panthers (http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/2381/werepanther0zd.jpg), and lynx. Tigers are the strongest, jaguars are the best trackers (Scent), cheetah are the fastest, panthers are the wisest, lynx hear the best, and lions are the average. On Jade they lived with their own kind in nomadic tribes on the plains, with an uneasy alliance. When the Overlord gained his power and attacked, the Lions brought them all together to fight off the Overlord. They lost.

Werewolves (http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4549/werewolf0rb.jpg) - Strongest, physically, of the lycanthropes. They lived in clans in the forests od Jade. Unlike the werecats, they often intermingled, so previous differences have been mixed together from constant interbreeding. Like the werecats, the werewolves united to stop the Overlord, but they did not ally with the werecats. Werewolves and werecats never got along.

Wererats (http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/9354/wererat5hz.jpg) - Natural assassins and thieves. While small and weak, they are quick and almost impossible to detect. When the Overlord gained his power, they instantly allied with him, and worked as his assassins and spies.

Harpies (http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/8673/harpies3gs.jpg) - Feathered humanoids with wings sprouting from their shoulder blades. Not much is known about them, since they lived in the mountain islands, which are hard to gain access to. After the Overlord took over, they were all taken to the Overlord's Land, so no one has seen one since.

The Blind Ones - Even less is known about them. It was rumored they were either snakes or bat-like creatures, but now they are all gone.

Orc (http://www.poster.net/world-of-warcraft/world-of-warcraft-orc-red-3701254.jpg) - Large, stupid humans with green skin. They were the Overlord's pawns and main minions. They now work under the Obelisk, simply to remind all of the other races that the Overlord is their ruler.

Trolls (http://www.blizzard.com/wow/images/trolls/characters-trolls.gif) - Long limbed blue humanoids. They lived on the continent before the Unnamed Islands, as shaman. After the Overlord gained his power there, he fulfilled their prophecies and became their god.

Gnomes (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/shared/wow-com/images/characters/ingame/gnome.jpg) - Small little inventors. They live in the Gimrin with Dwarves, and help them with their forges and technology as the thinkers. Unlike the Dwarves, they aren't greedy, so they were against supporting the Overlord. But with no where else to go, they stayed with the dwarves.

Other races - If you can think of something interesting, suggest it. I like having as many races as possible.

Story/Characters/World:

PCs can be anything except Obelisks and The Blind Ones. At the moment, Overlord-aligned characters are allowed.

The 'story' is just to survive in this new world, at the moment. Preferably in an interesting way, not just as a slave with no chance of freedom or a generic Orc. I'll leave it up to you to come up with interesting ideas, that perhaps include other players.

While the overall concept will not change drastically (Things included in the original posting of this), many ascepts of this world are still open. So if you have any ideas for improvements, suggest them.

There are two forms of magic. First is using your own magic to create spells, which requires only movements to control your magic aura. The other form is in spell books and scrolls, which are just premade spells. Books draw on the users magic, while scrolls are one time precharged shots.

Name: Angrod Carnesîr, goes by Job
Age: 143
Race: (Darkish) Elf
Sex: Male
Occupation/Class: Renegade Battle-Mage
Appearance: A normal elf with a darker tinge of skin. Wears ratty old clothes that have been modified (read: some parts torn off or slimmed) to allow for more mobility. A few scars across his face and chest, and he is lean mainly due to food shortage and his current environment.
Equipment/items: Two elongated ritual knives, an enchanted bag filled with spellbooks, flask for water.
History: Angrod was the son of a poor servant elf, one that mainly attended to the libraries of the High Elves. Before the Overlord came Angrod wasn't anything special, merely a young elf being groomed to assume his father's position as caretaker of the spellbooks of the library.

Like everywhere else in the world, the coming of the Overlord upset everything. As he razed the glorious area to the ground elves who didn't submit were dying in droves, the 'lesser' elves being killed immediately.

Angrod's family was wiped out in a blitzkrieg attack while he was with his father in the library. The High Elf librarian quickly ordered the two workers to gather up whatever books they could in the bags of holding, but the Overlord's minions came sooner than expected.

Everyone rushed further inside for safety, but Angrod's father and the High Elf were attacked by two Orcs. Angrod grabbed the nearest weapons, an ornamental display of two ceremonial knives, and backstabbed the orcs, but couldn't save his father. With his last breath, the High Elf told Angrod of a secret passageway in the library that no one used because it was the Forbidden section, and that if he did use the passageway to not let the Overlord get control of the hidden texts.

Angrod found the passageway and stuffed all of the Forbidden and Dangerous spell books into the enchanted bag before going into the passageway, away from persecution. The passageway was part of a larger series of tunnels and routes that a few other groups of Elves found, although even after a year the escapists's numbers barely breached double digits.

Angrod revealed to the others what he had 'recovered', ancient texts describing forgotten history and banned spells. The small group pored over the text and devoted themselves to the downfall of the Overlord. To this end they took on new names, Angrod becoming Job, and purposefully altered their skin to reflect their new attitude, darkening their skin to match the ruins of their homeland.

Since then they attempted to enact hit-and-run attacks on Overlord strongholds, but the odds were against them and their small numbers dwindled slowly, until only Job was left. Job has settled on a new plan, one that he can't complete on his lonesome, and has ventured forth beyond Pu'the'li, determined to make the Overlord pay.
Extra: Job clings tightly to his bag and spellbooks inside, and seems to have settled on a plan-of-attack against the Overlord, although he is not frugal in spilling the details...

This is a great idea mate, a new take on an old theme. Any chance you came up with some gods?

As for other races, Werebears are always fun, hibernating deep beneath the new destroyed Pu'the'li maybe? Werespiders in the islands or as minions of the overlord. Umm more servants of the Overlord, maybe the Undead.

As for my character, well I have so many ideas its daft at the moment, but Im trying to narrow it down to one.

Hmm, I'm thinking it might be fun to have a vengeful spirit of Pu'the'li, possibly even make it into an entire race - the guardians of the old forest, vanished when the forest was destroyed, now seeking vengeance against the Overlord at any cost. I'd be one.

No gods, because I figured I'd fully develop the world after the RP started, so I don't waste my time incase it doesn't start (Which so far seems to have been a good call).

Werebears, no, because they woud be the strong race, and wolves are already that.

Werespiders, sure, but not actually lyncanthropes, just humanoid spiders.

Undead, of course, all kinds (Vampires, lich, zombie, etc).

Vegenful gaurdian spirit, no. Elves were the Pu'tje'li race. Plus I don't want everyone to be trying to kill the Overlord, since that isn't the goal of the RP.

Fairy nuff.
How about naiads, dryads, elementals, djinni, etc?

Any basic fantasy race is ok, so all of those. Exept djinni, because those are genies, and I can't see any good way to incorparate genies into an RP.

Character bios:

Name: Tanor Ghentis
Age: 72
Race: Gnome
Sex: Male
Occupation/Class: Thaumatologist/inventor
Appearance: 4'1", young for a gnome - barely twenty five, putting it into human terms. Ususally has a pair of glasses pushed up on his head, messing his untameable hair up even more.
Equipment/items: Tool belt, sack with flexible inner dimensions, which contains all sorts of outlandish objects and half-completed inventions. Some of them even work.
History: Tanor was always fascinated by magic, ever since he was a child. At age 15, his parents discovered that he had some talent for it himself - it wasn't unheard of for gnomes to be able to use magic, but it wasn't exactly common, either. When he was old enough, they sent him off to a high elf academy, where he trained as a thaumatologist. He showed a tremendous thirst for knowledge, and displayed a natural aptitude for the subject, graduating easily. You may have heard of Ghentis's Material Postulate, the groundbreaking theory he developed on how to bind magical energies into a pre-existing object.
Anyway, that came to an end when the Overlord took over. As one of the world's leading thaumatologists, naturally the Overlord tried to kidnap him to force him to work under his command, but Tanor put his agile mind to work and created a device to hide him and those he cared about from the Overlord's forces. He went into hiding, and carried on inventing new magical objects, passing some of the better ones to the few resistance movements that looked like they might actually acheive something. They never did.
Extra: Will often pull a strange gadget out of his bag, which will either turn out to be exactly what is needed for a given situation, or will fail spectacularly. A thinker, not a fighter.

Occupation/Class:Illusionist/hunter
Appearance: Human form: has an eye patch over left eye, wears black clothing with blue edging, 5'9" tall, Long blue/black hair, Well proprtioned musculature wise, Yellow colored eyes(these give away his were heritage), A black cloak and hood are pulled around him when near others so as not to give away his race before he trusts people.

He has lernt to live with this, Even turning it into a advantage as his feline sences can detect as much as his eye ever could.
Being one of the few Weres still free most of Breythors time is spent just surviving and staying out of the slave camps, He has even managed on rare occasions to free a few of his clansmen, Though this has put a price on his head so he is careful who he groups with.
Berythor was one of his clans shamans able to construct illusions to help with protection of their people and destroy their enemy.
Extra:Breythor's grasp of fighting is place into more gurrilla warfare than toe to toe fighting, His Illusions help dramaticly with that tactic.

Heli, five feet is to tall for a gnome. I'm also against the pocket dimension pockets.

Tarrin, even though I hate writing appearances, you need more then that. Especially since werecreatures have two forms. I'm also assuming he is currently a slave, since you didn't state otherwise.

As for magic, I've decided that there are two forms. First is using your own magic to create spells, which requires only movements to control your magic aura. The other form is in spell books and scrolls, which are just premade spells. Books draw on the users magic, while scrolls are one time precharged shots.

Also, I'm expecting a low turn out for players at the moment, so you should all think of ways to get your characters to meet up.

Name: Gina Senari
Age: 19
Race: Lamia
Gender: Female
Class: Fighter
Apperance:
Human form: 5'7", short-cut reddish-brown hair, yellow eyes w/ slitted pupils, small pointed ears, usually wears a leather shirt and skirt, in her mouth are a pair of fangs and a forked tounge
Hybrid form: 13 ft long tail, scale pattern rememecent of an eastern diamondback.

In order to escape captivity and to disguise themselves they used specialized transformation magics to give themselves a human form. Those that survived, many of them are fighting to keep what's left of their land, but sadly they are few in number, and are fighting a losing battle. Therefore, several of their number have left for other lands, looking for allies to take back their islands from the trolls.
Extra: Is knowledgeable about hit-and-run tactics, since that was what her species used agenst the Trolls.

Hey. Want you to know I'm definitely interested, but I wanted to ask a couple of things. Are all trolls Overlord-aligned? Also, how exactly are we going to start together, assuming we do?

Trolls are Overlord aligned. They view the Overlord as their god.

Edit - Of course, that doesn't mean every troll would.

For how you start together, figure it out. I rather not force character changes to form groups, but will the small amount of players we will be having, you'll have to be together. Unless you can get about 10 more people to join, then there can be groups of actual story-related characters.

Dark Seraphim
05-30-2006, 10:55 PM
Name: Pardalis
Age: 35
Race: Wereocelot :D
Sex: Male
Occupation/Class: Mercenary/Soulknife
Appearance: Human: 5 foot 7. His hair is naturally blonde, though he often changes the color and cut to disguise his appearence. He usually wears cloaks and other nondescript clothing.
Wereform: 6 foot 3. His fur is a jaguar-like pattern, with black lines on his face, going through his eyes.
Cat: A 6 foot long ocelot...
Equipment/items: Small dagger, lightmail, spellbook, compass, maps
History: Wereocelots were a small tribe descended from werejaguars and panthers. Like the main tribes, they fought against the overlord. Pardalis was able to escape from Jade after the war, and has never been back since.

He has made a living doing tracking, protection, assasination and other less than legal jobs. He tries to get ones that hurt the overlord whenever possible, but limits it to try not to get caught. As far as he knows, all the Overlord alligned people that know of his involvment have been properly bribed, threatened or killed. 10 years ago while on Otherin, he met up with a female ocelot named Bast (the only one he has seen since he left). They became partners, professinally and personally.

Recently, they went on a mission to destroy a boat that contained a shipment of Kalimdorian goods. One of they're employers betrayed them to the gaurds. While they did manage to kill them and sink the ship, but not before Bast received a fatal wound. She died before they could reach the shore. After that, he decided to take a massive strike against the Overlord. Partly, he believed that it was likely that his involvement in the attack was known to the evil forces, but mostly becuse he was seething with rage and wanted revenge.

He has been hired by a young woman to fight in the Unnamed Islands. (That ok?)
Extra: Is able to use his magic energy to form weapons. He usually uses a schmitar, but has been known to uses spears, daggers and arrows.

Name: Lucas Garron
Age: 28
Race: Werewolf
Sex: Male
Occupation/Class: Battle Shaman
Appearance:
Human: Tall at 6’2” he had white hair, with pale skin and tawny brown eyes flecked with gold (which stay the same in all forms). He is powerfully muscled, but still lean. He usually wears a kilt of charcoal grey canvas and a leather harness crisscrosses his chest, from which hang various pouches and a long bladed hunting knife. He does though have a set of more ’civilized’ clothes for infiltrating cities. His
Hybrid: 6’10” A mass of muscle and covered in thick white fur. He does look more vicious and feral, leaner at the waist and broader at the shoulders, than many Werewolves in this form. He still wears his kilt and harness in this form, the harness having been expanded via various buckles and straps before he changed.
Wolf: A little larger than most wolves, again he is white and again seeming more feral than most of his kin with larger shoulders and a long jaw. He usually stashes his clothing somewhere but at other times he carried it in a bag around his neck.
Equipment/items: He carries his leather harness and kilt, he never wears shoes unless in disguise and has thick calluses on his feet. In the pouches hung at various parts on his harness are various items usually spell reagents or components for potions (the effectiveness is often in doubt particularly by feline types), in addition to a shard of flint and a whetstone.
History: Lucas had not even been born, let along commenced his training to become Battle Shaman of his clan when the Overlords forces came. But his father told him the tale, along with all the others of the Silver Fang, so one day perhaps the great Clan might live again.

When the last day dawned his father had brewed the blood-mead and they all sang the war hymns. Men shaking hands and cheering as if they were off to a summer gathering rather than such a terrible battle, the women were quieter though, but even they were almost serene. We are the Silver Fangs! we are the strongest of tribes! No green-skinned rabble could ever face us and live, for we were natures fury and our wrath was terrible to behold. Soon everyone had donned their favoured forms, most as hybrids, but a few choosing to fight as full wolves and fewer still choosing to fight as men with wooden shields and long hafted axes.

And terrible it was, a surging mass of silvery warriors against the dark green tide. In the morning it seemed almost possible, but as the evening wore on, it became apparent that the waves of Orc’s would not stop. Slowly bravery gave way to acceptance and as night fell even that gave way to final, despair ridden, screaming resolve. Only the great spirits know how many died that day, but when the Silver Fangs fell the other clans began to fall, was slavery really worse than death? The Silver Fangs had always been a little mad after all, surely it was better not to have your children, your brothers and sisters and everyone else slain? But Lucas survived, clubbed to the back of his head and covered with a mound of his fallen kinsmen. He a day later beneath a pile of corpses, he vomited and cried until his eyes ached and all he could do was retch.

Still his father had fought on with the last survivors of the Clan, fighting a gorilla war against the Overlord where they could. Two years after that fateful battle Lucas was born, a White Wolf, just as his father was before him. And so he passed down the traditions, and passed down the War. The Silver fang would never bow, never surrender. Now he has finally finished his training Lucas operates like the rest of the Silver Fang, mostly alone, hit and run terrorism. Part of him knows it is more pride than hope of victory that keeps the handful of kinsmen that remain fighting.

Extra: The magic of the Shamans of the Werewolf clans is a strange one to the elven world of spell books and strictures. Pure white fur in a werewolf denotes a sort of natural magical talent, much like sorcery in DnD. It works on thought and gestures, which is a mix of memory tricks and creating a pattern within the users mind for his own innate ability to flow through.

That magic can be roughly divided in two, spells and rituals, spells are what you would expect gestures and possibly a word or two, some are channelled through rune stones or particular reagents but most are not. The main use of this first time of magic are to enhance the shamans own abilities of those of his companions (which is why they were so prized by the clan). Then there are rituals these always involve multiple components and range from scryings to potion brewing and summoning to telepathy. These are always exhausting and no longer seem are reliable as they once did when the world was free.
Hows that? I explained the White Wolf bit badly, I see them as sort of a special bloodline more magicaly attuned than most of their kin and in a differnt way than the elves. Like the differnce between mages and sorcerors.

He has a crossbow hanging off the left side of his belt, with a quiver full of bolts on the right. A blade that jets out over his arm , which gives the feeling of a claw, is attached to his right arm and is well hidden with his sleeves.

His eyes are a redish brown, yet seem to have both a burning hate and a cold stare in them. His hair is rough, with it being a mess and tangles all the way to his shoulders. His facial hair is just as much unkept, with a beard and mustache to hide his mouth. Though at least there is no food contained within his beard.
Equipment/items: A crossbow with bolts, a blade on his right arm, and a dagger in his left boot.
History: Fredrick was born just before the Overlord came into power. His dad was a leader of a notorious theives gang, and spotting potential from this kid, he took him in and raised him as a theif. His dad's gang went full allegience wit the overlord, and started serving as an active force against rebels.

Fredrick was taught from every theif in the gang. He learned the arts of stealth and silence. He learned how to persuade and charm people. He learned how to fight, and be a cut-throat killer. He was everything his dad wanted him to be.

Just about three years ago, there was another rebellion trying to gather, and his father's gang was the ones that stopped them. In fact, they jumped the gang in their sleep, killing quite a few in the first few seconds. Unfortunatly, the rebels responded a lot faster than the gang was expecting. It was one hell of a battle that went on.

At the end, Fredrick found his dad with a few arrows in his chest, and a deep gash in his lower leg. The few remaining members of the gang were around to see, and what the saw caused them to leave. Fredrick took out his blade, and cut his dad's head off. Fredrick says he deserved a quick death. The surviving gang members thought it was because Fredrick hated the gang.

Though Fredrick still retains loyalty to the Overlord, though now he works alone. Mostly what he does is hunt rebels, weeding them out. Sometimes he will actually act like a leader for them, and once he has gathered quite a few he will kill them all.
Extra: He is quite rich for a man he looks as bad as he does.

My Sign-Up Sheet, as promised.

Name: Rozel Theran
Age: 23
Race: Lycanthrope
Sex: Male
Occupation/Class: Farmer/Smith/Slave
Appearance: In his hybrid form he stands at 6'11", a slim, quick, powerful Lycan. Rozel's eyes are brown, and his fur is black. In his human form he becomes a foot shorter, and much more visibly robust. He is darkly tanned to a shade of light brown, and he his dark fur becomes curly black hair. In animal form it would be difficult to distinguish him from any other regular wolf, to an untrained eye.
Equipment/items: One short iron sword (very, VERY makeshift, looks like it's broken numerous times), one backpack, one overcoat, one change of human clothes, one pair of long, sturdy work pants, one wheting stone, one smithing hammer and one farmer's scythe. A small amount of food and a canteen flask are also among his items.
History: Rozel was born two years after the Overlord took over. He never knew freedom, the green of the grass, the light of the sun on a bright wheat field at the end of a day, ect ect ect... He was born to dark grey clouds, to hard dirt, to withering crops and an Orcish whip. And, despite not knowing any better, he hated it.

Rozel, however, was born to a position of relative privilege among slaves; he was son of the village's old smith. As such, his and his family's farming requirements were halved in exchange for a quota weapons, armor, tools, nails, and other metal trinkets. He was also in a position to learn a trade, something invaluable to anyone, let alone a slave, in the day. His father impressed this into him, teaching him hard work in the ruined fields and the hot smith.

Rozel's father was very subservient to the Orcs, the Obelisk, and the Overlord; they had taken his freedom, but allowed him to make a semblance of a living and mostly left his dignity intact if he allowed himself to forget he wasn't free. However, Rozel himself grew to hate them. He didn't know why; the village was generally subservient enough, and the Orcs had almost given up on trying to find excuses for whippings and the like. But, somehow, he just knew he abhorred them.

Then, one fine day, at age 18, he decided he had enough. After the field work was done, he got together a small pack of things (including the farmer's scythe), got some scrap iron and quickly made a makeshift sword with it, and fled. The hunting dogs the next day trailed him to a river, where they lost his scent. He saw them turn away from the river and plan out their search strategy from a nearby forest. It was more of a tiny clump of trees, a relic of an ancient past, but it provided enough cover. After that, he changed to human form, adjusted his pants, picked up his equipment and ran. He ran through fields for days, stopping only when absolutely necessary. He stopped by a human village slave village one night, and discreetely bartered for some clothes. From there he erred through the countryside, occasionally camping with resistance movements though never affiliating directly with them. He often made or improved weapons for them, and left, never to hear from them again. Sometimes word of him preceded him. The "Friendly Lycan" or the "Errant Man" depending on what form he adopted at the time. To this day he walks the land.
Extra: Rozel is a smith by trade. Though he this means he isn't hardened by battle (he hasn't even killed anyone yet) he is able to fix his weapons and those of anyone he chooses to aid. He could also do metal armor, or nails, or utensils, or, well, you get it. He can use most hot fires, though (naturally) better fires and smithing equipment would yeild better results.

Well, his current location is "somewhere around Jade, possibly near Pu'the'li" so wherever is convenient (assuming that the general area is convenient) will do to start. Also, he's been running from authority for some 6 years or so, so would it be fair to say the price on his head is not such a big deal anymore?

Now I just need to some how connect all of the characters, or split it into to small groups.

(Repost)

Best connection I can think of is FC's character having recruited everyone to go help her take back a few islands, and IC's character is there to ruin their efforts as part of the group.

Should I start the RP with this group made at at the islands, heading for the islands, or everyone is alone and the group is being made?

First impressions are everything, which means that anything can go wrong with them too. Having everyone start off when forming the group can cause problems, so I suggest heading towards the island. People can still use flashbacks if they want to go over the first impression, but we are already at the point were nothing bad had happened to tear the group before it formed.

Agreed there, Tarrin. That said, what is the Overlord's name? Or, if he keeps his name secret, what is he refered to as?

Name: Avonyu
Age: 30 years old
Race: Esper(Avonlyu is known as a "fairy" to the west, a "djinni"(Not genie, the wish granting kind) further east, and even "kami" to the far east.)
Sex: Male
Occupation/Class: wizard/sorcerer/enchanter/Loremaster
Appearance: He appears as a creature composed entirely of multi-changing crystal which blaze different colors.
Equipment/items: Automatic Crossbow he invented. Can fire three crossbow bolts at once before reloading.

History:: Avonyu is a purely mystical creature composed of organic crystal. He has a mysterious, shrouded past composed of working for different gods and supernatural beings. He was born human, and apparently his mother was not human. He never knew his mother was an esper or that he was not entirely of the species of Man. At the age of 17, he had gathered enough interest and knowledge of magic to perform minor magical acts, such as levitation and putting others to sleep. But ever since he had acquired the power to command lightning bolts at age 18 he had been summoned to work for the Overlord.

The Overlord is refered to as The Overlord.

Marian, I can't think of a way to include your character in the RP in a way that he isn't by himself, so unless you can find a plausible reason, that character is rejected.

I don't know why he couldn't be included.

Because everyone is anti-Overlord.

Oh. I see. The plot twist is when the game starts that he wants to betray him.

Heliomance

The Overlord could send him to deal with the group in the Unnamed Islands, and when he meets them they convince him to turn traitor. Could make some interesting friction as IC's character tries to conceal his disgust for the turncoat or something.

I consider you at this moment a second GM like some games have. Now I shall post in the other thread and look here to see if I should.

He is not a second GM.

And his idea works, though instead of being sent to deal with the group (Which would make your character arrive weeks after the group gets there), he is already there to help the trolls.

Job's a battle mage, meaning he's primarily a fighter who accesorizes with basic magic, and has some old forbidden scrolls if that's what you mean.

Dark, your last post needs to be deleted, or heavily edited.

1) No human villages on the Unnamed Islands. The only reason the Trolls haven't taken all of the islands because of magically altered wild animals killing them on some islands.

2) Never control a PC, even if it's something minor. Unless that player has at some point staed they don't care if their PC is controlled for certain actions.

3) At this point, it isn't revealed if flare's character is a lamia. I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a secret or not, but it's better to assume it was, incase she intended it to be.

Fair enough. BTW, Wightwolf mentioned a snakewoman, which is why I assumed it was known. We need more retconning.

Helio, don't put words in other character's mouths.

And now you're going to explain what your gnome can do, magically, because I was expecting him to mostly use magical gadgets.

I agree with IHMN, plus it's one of my major RP pet peeves.

Plus they're going into tunnels. A map wouldn't be useful, especally since they're going single-file through them.

Heliomance

Oh, misinterpreted then. Didn't realise they were going to be going through tunnels.
The words I did because I thought they were something fairly minor, and posting one line, waiting for a one line response, posting one more line would really have annoyed me.
Magically, his powers are pretty much no use offensively, at least directly. He can read minds, providing he is in close proximity (preferably touching) and has permission. He can conjure illusions, and could probably make magical weapons. He's not a fighter though, at all. What he does is combine his (vast) magical knowledge with items to create magical objects, which could be used for various purposes. For instance, the illusion globes, a simple glass globe which displays a 3-d illusion if someone rubs it. I was gonna do the maps like that. You think I should delete the post?

IHateMakingNames

Like I told Dark, never control another PC, even if you think it's something minor. Making ne line posts to simply ask a quesion annoys me as well, so if you don't want to, PM the player first for the response, then post it all in one post. And some how point out that the player gave that response.
