In an effort to post on this forum and not get yelled at because of it, I figure I'll try another RPG. This plot is lifted from one of my stories, but I'll pare down the history a little bit so it's not cumbersome.

The Year: 2460
The Place: Earth. For now, at least.
The Situation: Tense. Very tense.

For five hundred years, genomalies (mutants, paranormals, nosferatu, lycanthropes, and more) have been tagged and controlled by the reigning government, after the Incident of 2006, which resulted in roughly one billion deaths worldwide.

The short version of the Incident: a group of genomalies rose to prominence, trying to make political progress and prove that they were not evil, but in doing so caused a very short, unbelievably bloody war, with one billion deaths worldwide. The power struggle between Martyr and Demon, in the streets and sky of Washington DC, completely levelled the city. As well, it was found out later, Demon, who was telepathically linked via psychic contagion to billions of people, drained all of his victims during the battle in an effort to overpower Martyr, who grew stronger the more he was hurt. One billion dead, and one billion critically injured, in the space of a day, as well as a nation laid to waste.

It was not difficult, from that point on, to capture and control the genomalies of the world, since the two most powerful (estimated to be more powerful than the sum total of every other genomaly in existence) had been destroyed. For decades, they were used as forced slave labor, rebuilding the shattered remains of the world with their powers. For decades more, they were subjugated, imprisoned, and forced NOT to use their abilities. Eventually, in the 2300's, opinions softened, and genomalies were slowly reintegrated into society, but always tagged, and always marked by clothing, and sometimes occupation.

Nosferatu, not needing oxygen or even atmosphere, are now used almost exclusively as startship pilots, since their craft do not need to be sealed, or heated. Asteroid miners, experimental exploration, probes and research... NosCorp flies them all. Psychics are often used in hospitals as diagnosticians. Physically powerful genomalies are used in mining, construction, and other such fields, where their powers can be put to good use.

In spite of all this, they are still slaves. Their foreheads are tattoed, they must wear a bright orange vest at all times (attached, in fact, with unbreakable fibres so it can almost never be removed). They cannot own property, they cannot reproduce, and they cannot associate in groups larger than four without armed escorts (and even then, it's usually not allowed). More worryingly, very powerful ones often vanish, and are never seen again, particularly psychics. Despite the relative peace and safety of their lives, they are slaves to humanity. Many understand the reasons, but despite the generally pleasant attitude of humans toward genomalies (often approaching condescension), there are still groups who call for them all to be put to death. Mobs often corner, capture, beat, or kill genomalies found on their own, and the police often don't inquire TOO far into it.

The situation is once again approaching tension. Freedoms are being limited more and more on a weekly basis by the world government, and more and more, genomalies are disappearing.

President Kennedy Unrelated to the American President of days gone by, this President is President of the world. All other countries have their own elected Prime Minister, who serve as advisory committee to the President, as well as to the United Nations, which the the governing military body. Elderly and crotchety, he won on a campaign of genomaly 'reform'.

Rowan O'Reilly The only living thing to survive ground zero of the Incident, Rowan is pushing five hundred years old. The reason for this is he is, for all intents and purposes, completely indestructible. When his cells divide, the genetic telomeres do not shrink, and as such, he has not aged appreciably. The only harm he has come to in his life was his retinas being burned to ash, when he watched the final apocalyptic assault between Martyr and Demon. Only he knows exactly what happened that day, and he has told the story thousands of times. Chief Genomaly Advisor to the United Nations. There is not much need to imprison him, as he is blind, and has no other abilities, so he is granted almost complete freedom, as per a normal person. He doesn't even need the vest. EVERYONE knows what he looks like. EVERYONE.

Ranger An exceedingly powerful genomaly, capable of fantasic flight speeds as well as telekinesis-based feats of strength, he acts as a global Search and Rescue team. Also world famous, it is only through years of flawless service and selfless acts that he is allowed out without a guard (mostly because they can't catch him).

Former President Marshall Currently in jail for life for Impersonating a Human. Only genomaly elected to office in five hundred years, as she avoided the genetic birth testing somehow. Powers were revealed by an anonymous tip to the UN, who staged an assassination to force her to reveal her powers. Location unknown.

Tanto Michiba Leading crusader for Genomaly Reform, linked (unconclusively) to several bombings resulting in genomaly deaths. On TV every night, wherever you go in the world. Extremely rich, extremely powerful, and extremely popular. Young, strong, and Japanese pureblood, which is rare after four centuries of inter-racial mixing.

Martyr Rumored to NOT have died in the Incident, but living underground and planning a rebellion to free his kin. Mostly folk tale.

Physical Description: He is 6'7, and has brown eyes. He is white. He has slightly more hair on him than usual. He has brown hair. He is built well, with more muscles on him than your average joe. He has a constantly angry look on his face.

Powers & Abilities: When he wills it, he becomes a wolf-like creature. He stays the same basic shape (humanoid), but gains near bulletproof skin, enormous strength (he can lift up to two tons) and agility (he can run at about 30 mph), a thick grey pelt of fur, razor-sharp claws, yellow eyes, and a greatly enhanced sense of smell.

Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': He hates it. He has come to believe that humans are an inferior, petty race, and genomalies are superior. This attitude is not soothed at all by the titanium jail cell he's kept in (complete with gas vents). He is famous for the "Full Moon Massacre", where one night (during a full moon), he dragged a several families (one by one) out of bed and killed them in the town square, and painted pro-genomaly slogans with their blood. He was captured by the army shortly after that.

Physical Description: Marcus is a tall man with noticeably white skin and noticeably black hair. He is often mistaken for a very well-fed Vampire, since he is well-muscled and not at all gaunt.

Powers & Abilities: Was responsible for the assault on the Solar Space Agency headquarters, single-handedly responsible for the destruction of $30 billion in hardware. Reports of exact powers vary, but generally revolve around "unstoppable juggernaught". Exact powers undisclosed to public.

As of yet, he has not broken out of jail, causing some to wonder what sort of jail he could be held in that would stop him. Not many are privy to his exact abilities, but they assure the rest that, yes, he's perfectly contained where he is.

Powers and Abilities: She has power over both weather patterns, cold, and heat.(Maybe she's being used in a project to grant vast energy)She also has enchanced vitality, strength, agility and intellectual capacity.

Physical Description: A thin and relatively lithe human male. He isn't in the best physical condition, but he has good genes, beyond his genomaly, and, thus, despite his relatively sedentary life style he still has a relatively atheltic build and can't be considered unhealthy by any means.
His hair is brown, short, and meticulously trimmed, and his face, though rather average in most aspects, still comes across as attractive due to his perfectly clean skin and scarless features--a side effect of his powers.

Powers & Abilities: Power over life. By placing his hands on another human or genomaly's body he can infuse them with energy--accelerating and perfecting the metabolic process to unnatural levels, regenerating even lost limbs. The flip side is that he can also drain life from people in the same manner, causing unconciousness, followed by organ failure, and then death. These powers act upon his own metabolism instinctually, as well. As a result he is hard to kill, but a bullet (or other attack) to his brain stem would stop his body from regulating his powers and end his life quite quickly.
Current Employment Status: Healer. He works in a hospital, using his powers to save people--but due to his genomaly status, he can not be considered a doctor.
Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': No man is happy as a slave--however Nathan has seen too much death too closely working in a hospital, and too many grieving family members to be willing to kill for any cause. Thus, though he is unhappy as a slave, he--at this time--refuses to support any kind of rebellion that could lead to more death. This political view is most likely the only thing that keeps him from jail.

Neat, I got a mod! And a good range of powers.... goodness, we might even have enough to start playing! Poop on a stick, that was ahead of schedule.... I'll have to work up an introductory post. In the meantime, feel free to ask me any questions any of you may have about the world, and I'll do my best to answer.

Also, a minor point, but I don't think Jay would be unemployed... jobs for genomalies are ASSIGNED, not interviewed for, so he might be some sort of laborer, or another physical job he doesn't like.

Race: Human

Physical Description: Sin is blessed with an unusual appearance, just wierd enough so that even if she tried going around without the marked clothes she would be easily recognised as beyond human; golden eyes peer out from behind messy, medium length, dark blue hair laced with a few blonde strands. She stands at just over six feet and has rather a pale complexion thanks to a lack of light over the years. Possibly her oddest feature is a birthmark shaped almost like a cross between a swirling vortex and a tribal tattoo over her right eye.

Powers & Abilities: - Can access ‘endoverses’ inside herself and other psysical objects; this essentially allows her to be absorbed into something and walk out, almost instantly of a different part of it or any other object in physical contact with the first. She may also choose to stay inside and hide within something rather than coming out. She can also store an almost infinite amount inside herself using the endoverse within her own body; thankfully she can pick and choose which part of her own endoverse she reaches into so that she is not forever searching for things she placed in there.
The endoverses are not particulary pleasant, mostly black voids filled with smoke that appears to form into the shapes of what exists at your relative position in the real world.

Current Employment Status: Employed/Incarcerated as the solitary confinement in one of the larger prisons. Unruly prisoners are thrown into her and left for a day or two. This is not by choice.
Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': She hates it, big time, since thanks to it she is merely a breathing jail cell.

Name: Nicholas Black

Race: Nosferatu

Physical Description: Tall at 6’3” Nicholas is pale and gaunt as all his kindred and possesses the characteristic features; fangs, over large pupils, thick, sharp finger nails and of course he moves with the inhuman grace of a vampire. He is handsome in his way but something about the cast of his features and his absence of fat give him a predatory look….. And then he smiles. He appears to be in his 40’s and is totally bald.

Powers & Abilities: At 427 he is one of the eldest of his kind, he has the expected weaknesses, silver and sunlight burn at a touch, the latter being far more deadly than the former, minutes being enough to reduce all or part of him to ash. A stake through the heart will paralyse him but not kill him and garlic is incredibly noxious and in a concentrated form can be deadly.

In return though he does not need to breath or eat, though he must still, of course, drink. Extremes of cold do not bother him, not do hotter temperatures at which a human would be unable to work or pass out. The same of course goes for pressures and speeds.

His senses are beyond anything human, he is strong enough to bend iron bars and tear sheet metal, move faster than the eye can follow and his durability, mainly due to a vastly increased muscle density is remarkable. Also apart from the above weaknesses he is remarkably difficult to kill, given enough time and blood he can recover from almost anything beyond total dismemberment and even them if the ‘pieces were placed in a bath of blood there is a chance he could reassemble.

His body, like that of all Nosferatu is merely a vessel for his will, his heart does not beat but his blood does move, if slowly. He can, and largely does live off animal blood although he only rarely is allowed it ‘right out of the can’, in which case of course it tastes infinitely better.

On a lighter note beyond his powers he is a remarkably intelligent man, permitted to read whatever he requests and a newspaper. This combined with the increased thinking speed of a Nosferatu means he seems incredibly sharp by human standards.

Current Employment Status: The best pilot that NosCorp have he is largely used to test military craft, high atmosphere recon missions and was the first ’human’ on mars. An experience which gave him an idea…

Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': He is in two minds about it, on the one hand he longs to be free, not to have to ask for everything, not to have to put up with dirty looks and shudders from anyone who looks at him. On the other hand he really does love his job, well once on a mission that is.

Well, in my story, Vampires aren't KILLED by sunlight, but it does burn like a fucker, and CAN lead to death, but it takes several minutes. The speed that Vampires die from sunlight is largely a construct of Hollywood. NosCorp ships don't need radiation shielding, since it's much easier to give the vampires a super-heavy suit of radiation-prood flight gear, which they have no trouble wearing.

Other than that, it sounds pretty good. You would have been born during the 'unpleasantness', so you grew up in a world that hated and mistrusted non-humans. "Tearing metal" might be a bit much.... maybe tear their way into a normal car, or out of a crashing jet aircraft, but anything of red iron might be too much even for you.

Otherwise, sounds good. Dang, eight players.... I think I better stop accepting people (until we start the game and I realize I have three dropouts.)

Physical Description: Standing at 10' tall Jamie is an unmistakable creature, Resembling the classical looks of the creature of myth, Musculature proportions of Ronnie coelman (very large muscular body builder), His body is in a bull form from the shoulders up. He wears trackpants on his lower body and usually nothing onhis top half as clothing is hard to find.

Powers & Abilities: Strength is Jamies main ability, However he is not just a powerhouse, He is actually an accomplished Bio chemist Due to his hightened intellect.

Since the age of 5 (at which he was 6' tall and built like arnold) He has been under guard or in prison. Having never commited an offence apart from being born as he is his outlook on humanity is very low.

In prison he is kept in solitary as aprecaution. As such the only person he has regular contact with (Apart from the guards) is Dr Sasha Milovich, She has taken Jamies situation and abilities as a reason to free him.

He has worked close with Dr Milovich on remidies for many strains of bacteria and sicknesses that plague the two races.

NosCorp information:

Largest non-human organization in the world, NosCorp retains control of the existing nosferatu, being the only genomaly condition which can be transmitted (lycanthropy is a genetic condition, and has not been proven to be transmissable). Since nosferatu often live for exceedingly long times before succumbing to telomerasic breakdown (thanks to their peculiar reactions to radiation), there are members of the NosCorp board who were born before the Incident, and are the only true links to the past. Nosferatu only control 30% of the board, and cannot pass or even veto decisions without at least two normal humans, but they do have some sway.

In order to keep the Nos happy in their important endeavors, the artificial blood compounds (grown from algea) are actually not that bad tasting, with Nos scientists continuing to improve it. However, even the best compounds will not contain everything the Nos seem to need, and it is for this reason that once per month Nos are given rations of the animal blood of their choice (most chose Pig).

Nos have very few escapees, because most police (the civil branch of the military) are equipped with lightweight radiation blasters which are mostly harmless to humans, but can smack down a Nos at a hundred yards fairly effectively, and they're pretty easy to recognize on the streets.

Some notes about the world:

It is a One World government. Wealth has been more evenly distributed ever since most of it was blown up. The military has three main branches, consisting of Civil (police), War (shooting rebels, cults, etc) and Space (Mars missions, Moon missions, asteroid mining). The Space branch is one of the largest sources of world wealth, as the Martian moon of Eros contains more gold and platinum than the entire Earth, and as such the Space branch is actually the largest of the branches, followed by Civil, and then Military. With a one-world government, there's surprisingly little need for a large standing army.

Everyone has a cel phone, and the Phone Company, the Internet and Television are basically all the same thing now. Most major television shows are done on Polyglot, which is a one-world language that came to prominence about a hundred and thiery years ago, but most nations still teach their national dialect in school.

Many genomalies actually make a good living in movies, with Thundor being the current highest-paid genomaly actor. He is about as recognizeable as the President these days, but for various reasons, he supports genomaly testing and control.

Edited and thanks for the info, just a quick question though how tightly are the Nos controled? Do they have their own houses or are they kept in cells? Just they seem a little more potentialy dangerous as in inclined to attack humans than other Genomolies.

A little long I'm afraid, but it was something of a potentially abusable power, so I felt the need to try and be clear on what I meant. There's some back-history worked in there too.

Name: Kin Thessel

Race: Human, mutant

Physical Description: When describing Kin, the word 'newt' comes to mind. He is markedly inhuman, with a soft, amphibian skin that is brightly patterned. His frame is slight and small in stature. Hairless, although having a number of flexible 'quills' that are sensitive to environmental changes, Kin's head has an odd, snake-like shape, although elements of bird are mixed in there. He walks on his toes, much like a bird and his hands and feet are tipped by small, weak looking claws. If he was to go undressed, one would also see he has a vestigal tail and no external sign of gender.

Powers & Abilities: 'Evolution gone out of control' could be used to summarise Kin's mutation. He is capable of rapid genetic shifts in extremely short time periods - a matter of weeks or days for some. This ability is instinctive and largely beyond any conscious directing of it. The adaptions include symbiotic organisms integrated into his biology. For example, Kin's current physiology is deliberately retained by his keepers as his membraneous skin makes it easier to adminster experimental substances. If he was kept away from water, he would gradually grow less reliant on it.

It also has the side effect of making him heal rapidly, recovering from injuries faster than normal and even enabling him to regrow lost body parts, albeit slowly. His internal systems are complex, with various glands such as stimulants that augment his bodily functions in times of need.

The role he is being used for is essentially a walking bio-factory - he naturally produces various chemical compounds. He is used in disease and poison research - they infect him, wait for him to develop a vaccine and then extract and study it. It has had the side effect of making his immune system extremely agressive - he resists the effects of most drugs, including antibiotics. He has developed other substances naturally, most notably poisons that have been studied for qualities that could be useful in medicine and a mind-numbing slime that renders an injected subject biddable.

Kin is currently kept under close watch. His shifting nature makes him useful in research, but it also means the threat posed by him can't be fully determined. His environment is kept carefully controlled to keep his potential largely unrealised.

However, the research has made him extremely venomous. His claws and teeth are all envenomed. His fangs administer the only truely lethal poison - a chemical cocktail that causes organ failure and brain death with shocking rapidity. This is difficult to adminster though as his physiology is not ideal for biting someone. His claws have considerably less potent but potentially more useful effects such as paralysis and hallucigens.

Current Employment Status: Lab rat.

Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': Kin is conflicted on this issue. In theory he can understand that genomalies with no controls on them could cause widespread havoc, but recently he has had difficulty reconciling it with the ever-increasing limts on his own life.


Since the ability has a huge amount of room for growth, I decided I'd try to make Kin start off relatively weak. Certainly, his poisonous nature can make him quite deadly, but, with fairly weak natural weapons, actually adminstering it can be a bit tricky. He's faster than your average joe, but not especially strong or tough. Still, being able to drool painkillers is handy I'm sure.

The ability is intended to be more of a reactive one and reasonably slow. He couldn't survive in a vacuum by jumping out of an airlock for example. More, say, if he got badly shot up, his physiology would shift to make him a little less likely to be badly shot up in the future. Or stronger if he has to regularly be a beast of burden, that kind of thing.

Physical Description: When bizarre fetishes for girls with animal ears and tails become real, on the next Springer. At any rate, Rubia is a genuine Bunny Girl fantasy come to life. White rabbit ears and a bushy tail. Long, shiny bright cyan hair. Pure green eyes. And a drop dead hot body to boot.

Powers & Abilities: Her legs are perfect when it comes to looks, but Rubia can rely on them in several ways. With great speed, heightened reflexes, and the ability to jump roughly fifteen yards into the air, Rubia's impressive on the move. In combat, she relies on her legs to deliver powerful kicks with decent accurary, or a rapid succession of weaker kicks like a certain famous chinese woman from Street Fighter.
Current Employment Status: Advertisement Model, Pop Star (The orange vest is removed during photo shoots and performances.)
Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': Rubia hasn't been told much about what genomalies are going through in her childhood, but the orange vest, the propaganda and the rumors are clueing her in, and giving her unsettling nightmares. If given the chance, Rubia would fight for equal rights for all genomalies. After all, she hasn't intentionally harmed a single human and yet she's suffering for some duel that occured before she was even born.

Nos live in Nos-Only aprtment buildings. The apartments are comparably spacious for one-bedrooms (Nos are not allowed to reproduce), but the buildings are completely sealed, accessed ONLY from the front door. So it's a very nice, furnished, and decorated jail.

Also, a point I missed... NEW Nos are created in controlled conditions by volunteers. Volunteers must pass extremely rigorous physical, mental, and loyalty testing before being allowed to be 'converted', where genes are extracted from a choice specimen and inserted in a laboratory. These new Nos, having been 'manufactured' for about fifty years, are very pro-Human, anti-genomaly, and proud of their decision to 'become one with the enemy' in order to make the world a better place. Regular Nos do not associate with these new Nos, thinking them 'fakers' and 'fanatics', which they pretty much are.

And I like the newt. Damn, so many good ideas! I want to try to incorporate all of you people into this game, but I don't know at what point it would become unwieldy. Tonight, or tomorrow, I should be able to whip out a first post to encompass everyone here (as long as people stop signing up! ;) )

one question though: are all the people who are in prison all going to be in the same prison, (im assuming we get busted out somehow)?

Physical Description: Caucasion, 5'7, with long jet-black hair that almost completely covers his eyes. this effect is enhanced by the fact that his eyes themselves are pitch-black, with no discernable features. its not only his eyes that are like this though, what someone might mistaken for some sort of whole-body tribal tattoo that covers him is really all of his major veins that are running with black blood. the overall effect is truly disturbing, much like his character.

Powers & Abilities: Eddie is a teleporter, in the same vein as Nightcrawler (minus the wall jumping abilities) with incredibly quick reflex's. he can instantaneously move to any location within his sight, however, the longer the distance the longer the innitial charge needed to power-up the jump (or "Bampf" if you will, due to the sound made by the vacum he creates upon dissapearing). not only can he move himself like this, but also anything that he is holding, even if its an incredibly huge object. the larger the object though, again the larger the charge that is needed. his favourite trick however, is to grab hold of an object (say a person), and teleport part of the object away. he himself doesnt move while doing this, he merely dissaperates then re-apperates in the same spot, but the object he is holding is then in 2 pieces. Eddie is famous for using this after beating a person to a pulp and then while they are unable to fight back, he senses the atoms within his victims body and teleports their hearts away! doing this takes time because he has to literaly trace and sense every atom within the object, which is why he 1st beats them so that they cant fight back.

Attitude Towards 'The Genomaly Situation': Eddie truly believes that humans are inferior and has a hatred for them beyond any Genomaly, which is why he became a brutal murderer. he has thus far killed 13 humans. He was caught while trying to pull of a mass genocide attack upon a city by teleporting on to an oil tanker, before trying to teleport the whole thing into the city in an effort to make the worlds largest terrorist bomb. He was unsuccsesful and couldn't escape before he was caught and imprisoned. He now currently resides in a special cell that is never opened so as not to give him a chance to escape again and the walls themselves have a special sound frequency pumped through them constantly so as to disturb the atoms within them making it impossible for him to teleport a hole open in them. He desperately wants freedom so that he can resume his "fight" against the "enemy". He is also the only known Genomaly to be able to escape from the orange vest that they must all wear, simply by teleporting out of it, probably one of the reason why he was able to evade capture for so long.

Could you explain the power up? is it like a time delay or what? How much power can he hold, how big a peice could he teleport with him? Is he limited to a single item, does that include clothes? How quickly does he wear down.....
