The Light Warriors are filled with good ideas. To the brim.

Oh man...
This brings back fond memories of the Ren & Stimpy episode with "Don't wizz on the Electric Fence" and I think we all know how THAT ended up...
And if only BM COULD read it correctly...

Anyone wanna bet that they take the "Summoning Square" right to Kraken?

I liked the bit about the summoning square (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010425).

Can the evil cultists galomph up a Roy, in the next one? That'd be the best.

Actually, if I was going to summon one of the Great Old Ones, I wouldn't write his true name down either...
What kind of zealot are you if you can't memorise the true name of your Great Old One?

What kind of zealot are you if you can't memorise the true name of your Great Old One?
But what if the act of memorizing the true name of your Great Old One causes you to go insane? I hear this is a common problem among cultists of Great Old Ones and Elder Gods and such, the insanity thing.

Why do I have the impression that the only person that can read it is Fighter, like he did before at Gurgu?

blacktrance
10-03-2006, 06:56 AM
Black Mage is gallomphing for Roys with his sawdust Grant's ear. This won't turn out well.

Oh man. Summoning Squares. It has been AGES.

Great referenceing Brian.

Oh, and RM should not get within ten feat of that paper.

Why do I have the feeling that the Light Warriors are going to go on a side-trip/quest and meet Ur?

Flarecobra
10-03-2006, 09:12 AM
Agreed, great in-joke Brian!

And I get the feeling they'll just get the water orb, and as they're leaving, find Kraken, then just shove him over, and then leave?

Tiako

The message goes "q" then "w". Anybody else think it is a keyboard? Demonic connections would certainly explain the order the letters are in.

Can the evil cultists galomph up a Roy, in the next one? That'd be the best.
Frankly, I don't think the cultists were gallomphing for Roys.

I think Thief is right. I think it is a Seven. How does that make sense, you ask? THE NAME IS SPELT IN 1337!!!!

What other language could be vile, evil, putrid and RETARDED enough to summon a demon such as this if not LEET?!?

This could be either an honest mispelling...or a very stilted pun!

I say both. But on the whole, I have to say...

Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li! Ia! Ia! Cthulhu ftaghn! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu Rl'yeh wgah'nagl ftaghn! Tekeli-li!

Now is the time of evil abomination. Pronouce that name with Red Mage on the circ- square and send his soul to the demon they call Ur. I guaranteee that they will anihiliate each other, by first the demon blasting RM, and then the Mime talent kicking in, moments before his death.

RandomNinja, you have excellent taste and are wiser than previously thought.
Although I can read/write it, (and fairly fluently, too!) 1337 is a purile language best fit for facetiousness. That is why I love using it sometimes.

Poor Red Mage. No one understands poor, poor, disturbed Red Mage.
Rhycore, I believe you have plumbed the depths, and have found particulate most foul. Your post almost made me laugh at work. If discovered, understood that it will be blocked by a fiendish firewall and its friends.

And If I were 8 bit I`d tell Red Mage that I loved him. He would be the reason to wake up every day, and to tuck back into bed every night.
I`m not bad with sewing; I could flash him up some really fine dresses.

Skirting of the end of the world, can he play? -Brilliant, Brian. Brilliant.

Red Mage loves to skirt, alright.

I can see this working out two ways.
Fighter will be able to read it, and accidently send them all to "ur" *cough kraken* Or Rm will stuff around with his stats and create a "Reading evil gods names feat"

Cough. After reading someone quoting me, i realised i meant "Fighter" :S

truebluemage
10-03-2006, 05:44 PM
Fighting will be able to read it...

in 450 we learn that he has a minor in over complicated languages. I have been wanting the group to be dependent on fighter’s brain once again. I can see the blood spray already.

Redhawk
10-03-2006, 05:52 PM
I foresee Fighter shattering BM's dreams. No doubt Fighter will use his minor in Over-Complicatedion and read the End-o'-World paper, upon which the words will fade.

Like a scroll. Cause how many End-o'-World spells does one really need?

Hijinks will ensue.

I have to go with the 1337 theory on this one, just sounds so damn funny.

This could be either an honest mispelling...or a very stilted pun!

And so you have misspelled misspelling, in the course of correcting someone else's misspelling.

Such irony is to be savored and revelled in, and so I am doing both.

Well, how many worlds would you like to crumble? If you're Black Mage, ALL OF THEM.

You notice that BM stated that they were standing in the summoning circlesquare, which is where BM slaughtered the cultists. The cultists' plan was to sacrifice the Light Warriors. Thus, in place of the Light Warriors, the cultists have been sacrificed to Ur. The rites have been performed. The Kraken is upon us.

I usually pronounce it like in the cheesy movies when the women/man will see a particularly large attribute of the opposite sex and he/she keeps naming the attribute instead of the actual topic, which sound slightly similar.

agreed. As sad as I am to admit, I can read it fluently and write it. And I hate myself for it.

And although this latest arc borrows from the Cthulu mythos, I cannot help but wonder if some idea was borrowed from Hellboy.

Hey, everyone, look (http://www.nuklearpower.com/latest.php). There's two versions of today's comic uploaded. Can you tell what the difference is? I already know; I plugged them both through photoshop and used a difference blending option. But do you see the difference?

Answer:
The blood on Black Mage's eyes.

Spiritclaw
10-04-2006, 12:25 AM
I for one could so see Ur's real name being something fairly mundane, like Steve or Larry or something, this fact of course being figured out by Fighter.

Heh. I wonder how can BM read or see anything with that much blood on his eyes.

Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li! Ia! Ia! Cthulhu ftaghn! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu Rl'yeh wgah'nagl ftaghn! Tekeli-li! Those ancient godbeasts really love their consonants, don't they?

No, they actually don't. The outer-beings, abominations, elder gods, and old ones absolutely despise any association with written english or any modern language. Therefore, you cannot actually spell what their true servants are saying, because it's only a close-approximation of what is believed to be heard. And, of course, no self-respecting eldritch monster will speak in anything that even closely resembles the blitherings of their servants, because they'll have seven tongues and such-like to augment the prose.

Tiako: You mean like a Freudian slip? Good times!

"Reading evil gods names feat" - decipher script!! Whee.
And skirts are ugly on anything other than a natural woman. *cringe*

But don't we anglophones do that to everything we translate anyway? Like pronouncing all the silent letters in french words?

I was gonna suggest the writing was that arcane script that programmers are always using... but it tends to drive insanity into those who write it, not read it. Leet seems more... hateithateithateithateit - sorry. Flaw of mine. I go gibbering mad everytime I think of that foul pseudo language.

It's perfect!

That sounds like a lot of work for something I just did with the scrollbar in less time than it takes to launch photoshop. But hey, whatever suits your fancy...

Maybe Brian made a last minute change, accidentally uploaded both files to the database and the PHP, since the two files have the same name, grabs both for display?

Mmew
10-04-2006, 02:51 PM
Mmmm... One would think that the comic would be in the same folder as the previous one. And because no two files in the same folder could exist with the same name, this would not be the case...
Also, it wouldn't grab both, it would either grab the first one or error...

I've encountered something similar to this before in my Photobucket. I'll have uploaded a home-brewed comic and noticed an error, gone back and fixed it, then deleted the uploaded one to replace it with one of the same name. Regardless of the fact, it displayed the erronious one still until a few refreshes later. It's just situating itself otherwise.

I am so stupid for not seeing this before, but it looks like the cultists may have squared the circle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squaring_the_circle).

...Of course, I didn't see anyone else mention it, so that means by extension that I'm smarter than y'all.

I wonder if Fighter actually knows whatever language he supposedly studied. That door back at the volcano said 'Enter' over it. It was just badly worn. Unless he was reading the pictographs on the door itself...

I blame the blooper section of TLF's first 8-Bit Theater movie, in which we learn that Fighter has extensive knowledge of Middle Earth.
