But as cool as I hope this will be, some of the retardedness of the new animated series not withstanding, I am going to miss the giant latex suits from the first three movies. =(

Hmmm...well the movie companies sure seem to be catering to people who lived in the 80's...what with the Transformers movie and also a Robotron one on the way and now a new TMNT...what could be next? Thundercats movie?
But whatever I hope this one is better than the third TMNT movie...they tried with that one but *shudders*

Well, from what they say, they're more or less pretending that movie never happened. =P

Thundercats movie? HELL YES!!!! That would be freakin' hilarious!
Ahem. Will this be an actual "In theatres" movie, or just your basic, "Animated Cartoon On DVD!!" thing?
Because if it's in theatres, I would have thought they'd wait until Transformers came out to see if movies based on eighties toons would be flops or box office winners.

Well, it doesn't say. I think they'll put it into theatres, since it's going to have such high quality CG animation. Most of the movies are of this skill, while most straight-to-DVD ones are about the same level as Beast Wars, or the like.
Except for movies like Hoodwinked, which have some of the crappiest CG animation I've ever seen, movie or otherwise.

All I can say is this.
I'm so gonna see this movie, and I'll be wearing a freaking red facemask.

Is everything CG or just the turtles in this flick? Personally I love Secret of the Ooze. Of course the third is terrible, it involves a time travel plot, that almost always dooms a movie unless it's a basic thing from the beginning.
Of note, if you're going to wear the red facemask you might as well do the Ninja Rap with your friends because that's just how it's done.

Well, to be honest, I don't know. I mean, if the quality is up to par with say...AC, I think all CG would be fine, but I don't know how well they can intermingle the two.

True dat. It'd probably end up being like Warriors of Virtue, only with more spandex and worse acting.

Hehe, all this talk has made me remember the horrible b-movie He-Man and the Master of the Universe. I hope they never repeat such things. The gap after Star Wars and before the advent of CGI led to so many horrible visual debacles, but I mean, it probably would've been pretty poor even by today's standards as far as the plot goes (the old parallel universe thing was always the worst way to go about things. Yeah, He-man's universe is real, it's just parallel to ours! Let's have Skeletor/Bowser/Shadow Master invade New York!)
The hover platforms were rad, though.

does G.I.N.O. ring any bells to you guys? If there's one thing I hate, it's this new thing in Hollywood that says, "Everything new is good" yeah CGI is officially not-new, but still, I'd hate to see this, CGI does'nt equal good. I always thought they should use less CGI, and more concrete visual elements. The suits looked great, the story of the first one at least was good, though it had it's flaws(too Raphael heavy for me, "ooohh he's angry, oohhh he's cursing, ooh he's angry again") and it's not like Jim Henson's company went with him. In addition, It looks like they're going back to the all-humor version of the 80's,don't let nostalgia cloud your judgement, that cartoon was cheesy as hell(then again, most of the eighties was cheesy).

Well, if the plot points serve any purpose, the cheesey humor's going to be all Mikey, as usual. Raph and Leo apparently are going to try and beat each other up, which is something I've always been a fan of.

TAKE THAT BACK!
There ain't nothin' funny bout no muthafuckin' ThunderCats, you hear me! Oh dear. I appear to have hit a nerve. All right, fifth. If it means that much to you, I take it back. There is nothing funny about... *snrk* hehehehehe... Ahem. Thunder Cats. Nah, seriously, it was a cool show. I used to watch it all the time, actually. ThunderCats and Pirates of Dark Water.
Anyway, no matter what they say, you just can't beat the giant rubber puppet Ninja Turtles of yore. It adds to the corniness. You can't NOT love a movie with guys in animatronic (Anamatronic? Animatronic? I dunno.) ninja turtle suits.

This is true. I mean, looking back on how well it was done in the second movie, why would they possibly mess with something that's both so totally awesome, as well as amusingly corny.

Yeah, the rubber suits were very well done for what they were. That movie was so intensely corny, though. I mean, they beat Shredder by wailing on an electric guitar...well, that was pretty awesome, but there was some other stuff, mainly how inept the foot are and pretty much anything Michaelangelo says. Oh, and is it just me, or did Secret of the Ooze have nothing to do with Leonardo at all? Rewatch it, I'm serious, Donatello seriously acts as the leader of the group, Michaelangelo quips and acts stupid, and Raphael has that whole thing where helps that Asian kid infiltrate the foot. Leonardo? He did nothing at all, not a damn thing.
And he still didn't ever use those katanas to actually cut anyone, either. :D
