I hope no one expected the Light Warriors to go somewhere without causing an unnecessary amount of THE END OF THE WORLD.

"Shut up about this 7 of yours. There's no 7!"

I don't know why but I laughed especially hard at that part...
But who would of guessed that Ben Affleck had the KEY!
I wonder how many times he has tried to summon Ur within the past 3 years...

Also Kurt really seems to have a way with words...

Also, it's almost as if Brian was reading our comments on the last comic and was going 'I'll make them THINK it's going to go that way, then just pull something out of nowhere just to PISS THEM OFF! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

It's the sound of the slain cultist's souls being sent to summon Jnn'efur, as described earlier (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=061003).

I'm willing to bet that she's the fiend of water, and is bringing the water orb with her.

And when an Elemental Fiend is about, people die.

But, chances are, the end of the world would kill Fighter, so either way, BM's happy. =P

But, also, chances are, Fighter and Black Mage would be the sole survivors, just to screw over Black Mage. In fact, if the end of the would shall arrive, that is my predicted outcome.

But, for right now, I'm going to go with Water Fiend.

But, nothing, except that did I begin enough sentences with but. =P

you redmage hater!

Oh no. That's not a Red Mage hater. That's a stupid-lame-annoying-geek-boy hater. It just happens to coincide with Red Mage.

But seriously, the rumbling and summoning sounds work like this...

It's all just a mere skl'em for the Gate, you see. Yog-Sothoth phgels'z his g'lflak until *Choking sounds of guzzling heard* to first manifest. THEN, he rupture several of his oplthsicases in order to bridge the dimensional gap and bring Ur to this plain of existence. Honestly, it's like k'flhxing a dhzhine. No problem at all.

Bolt9: A surge of energy powerful enough to create a universe. (Which may overwrite ours.)
Fire9: A flame hot enough to destabilize the fabric of the universe, manifesting a superstring in the fourth dimension. You just know that's bad news.

At least that's what I think they would do. :)

Are there any other level 9 spells? Life9 would be fun, bringing back everything that ever has lived in any sense of the word in the entire universe. Or that undead killing spell, whatever it's called. Obviously all kinds of zombies perish, and that probably includes black holes and other dead stars. I don't think I have to explain the intergalactic mess that would cause.

willyolio
10-05-2006, 11:25 PM
so... is ur's real name x'kzlpyg, ur'suhla, or jnn'efur?

as for the spells:
since ice-9 reduces everything in the universe to absolute zero, i think the following would be more appropirate for bolt and fire 9:
bolt9: strips all the electrons in the universe and channels them through the target.
fire9: raises the entropy of everything in the universe to the point where all matter destabilizes and is converted into pure energy (and thus more entropy)

No, I don't think anyone's going to die. For right now anyway. So far, only Black Belt has died, and Brian said repeatedly that BB was annoying. Also, they've only faced two fiends so far, and technically, although BM died at lich, he was brought back. BB remains the only character to truly be removed from the plot.

For your silly spell speculation it's important to note that this:
ice-9 reduces everything in the universe to absolute zero, i think the
Isn't true.

Ice-9 merely reduces the temperature of the target to absolute zero and holds it there. However, the effects of this are catastrophic thanks to the laws of thermodynamics interacting with an area where atomic movement has ceased. Basically the surrounding atoms/electrons/everything else bump into the 'frozen' atoms, transferring their energy to them ineffectually, and thus freezing themselves.

The result is a chain reaction wherin the entire universe is eventually frozen.

Kind of like casting burning hands on a barn. The barn would burn down, more than likely, as the fire spreads... but that much heat was not generated by the initial spell.

Man, I hate these fancy forums. I hit alt-248 in order to make a "degrees" mark and it deleted my post. It was a nice post too. ;_;

What I wanted to ask was, while the atoms falling apart in an object that's reduced to absolute zero could create a chain reaction, wouldn't that reaction be confined to one astral body? There's hardly any atoms to collapse in the void between.

WM casts dia9 at zombie. Zombie dies. Again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And...

What about hadoken9? I suppose Hadoken9 would probably create such amount of energy it'd rip a hole into the universe and the dimensions and everything, the beings that wouldn't be killed by it or turned crazy by the fact they can't calculate the amount of energy in it would be killed by getting blind upon seeing so much energy, their eyes unable to "process" and eventually causing the head to a'splode. On a side-note, would that be basically the infinidoken?

Mmm... inifinidoken... I thought about cure9; mortal flesh surely can't withstand that much positive energy being channeled through it. Using Cure9 on somebody would be like hooking up a 10 watt lightbulb to an entire hydroelectric dam.

First you'd be healed, then you would get temporary bonus hp, and then more. You would be so full of life that your metabolism and other functions would speed up beyond natural capability, your muscles and everything else bursting with unbelievable health and strength. Then your cells would go into overtime being alive, their processes speeding up just to keep up with everything else; they'd split and grow so fast you'd degenerate into a thoughtless, ever-multiplying life-mass. Probably exponentially. And the only reason your overpopulated cells wouldn't all die of self-induced starvation, or lack of waste management, is because they would be surviving off of pure healing magic. Whenever the spell did end, you'd die as a horribly deformed cancer-like super being. Sorta like Jenova.

Or like that description theory guy in an issue of Planetary. He transmuted himself into a creature that could survive an atom bomb or wotsit. There was never any scale given to suggest his size, they said his breath caused earthquakes, and he ended his days in the bottom of a miles deep drill hole where he starved to death after 30 years.

I wonder what Ultima would do, being a level higher than level 9 spells. Following the theories laid out so far, it'd have to be, simply, ultimate. Maybe it'd generate enough anti-matter and anti-energy to destroy all the matter and energy in the universe in a blast twice as powerful as Big Bang.

I have had a most horrible pun: Wouldn't Bolt9 be Breakin2?

Ryong
10-07-2006, 09:47 PM
Ultima is normally descripted as the strongest spell ever, a pure attack of the purest magic possible. While other spells channel magic at normal elements so they turn into magic, it's not pure magic. As BM said when talking about blue magic: "Magic is forcing your will into things" or something like that, so, when an elemental spell is used, it channels your will into an element. Non-elemental spells wouldn't be affected by elemental weakness - or resistance, for the matter - since they're just pure magic being channeled directly at the target, no channeling magic at elements.

So, if cure9 does all that... What does esuna9 do? Does it make the person never, ever get sick, but still be able to die? I'd like to see magnet ( from kingdom hearts 2 ) as a lvl 9 spell. Super blackhole?

Amake
10-08-2006, 05:23 AM
I tend to think that Ultima uses all elements and they cancel each other out rather than no element to start with. Viz. FF8, where Junctioning Ultima to your resistance adds to the resistance of all elements.

Esuna9 would have to purge everything from your body, like the bacteria from your bowels , maybe even damaged and worn cells. Maybe it'd strip frayed DNA spirals, or possibly just delete you entirely. :)
