Light Warriors always stick together and look out for each other. And then push each other into oncoming trains.

Well, at least none of them have a sanity score to worry about. They all went nuts about 400 episodes ago - except black mage: he's always been out of his mind; and fighter: he doesn't have a mind.

It's gonna be great to see how this turns out. =D
And, cheers for referring to Day of the Tentacle in the title. That game is hilarious.

Clevinger, for the love of God, TELL ME THAT DR. FRED IS IN THAT TEMPLE SOMEWHERE!
Or Weird Ed. I'm fully willing to accept Weird Ed. Or even Dead Cousin Ted. Not Edna, she scares me, but any other Edison is acceptable.

Giggitty-giggitty ewww....
Ahh well probably beats the hammer, that ant hill analogy still gives me nightmares.
I fully expecting the comic to switch to another few rounds of the Dark Warriors before we got to see whatever gets summoned (presumably the guardian of the next orb). I'm happily proven wrong.

Panel 6 is the best ever, also u gotta love how they blame BM when this is more their fault than his. Also i just realized that Ur is the name of a demon from World of Warcraft.
Absolutely brilliant Brian. Nyeh nyeh nyeh myeh myeh MYEH myeh myeh myeh. Perfect expression too :P
Also absolutely have to love RM's respons to Thief. "Prepare to be proven wrong!"

Technically Ur is the name of an ancient Babylonian(I think, somewhere like that anyway) god and a cool sounding name for a god at that, hence it's tendency to be the namesake of gods in fictional works.

True story! Ur was one of the first cities in civilization itself!

Last thing I heard Ur was even the oldest city they ever found. By the way, in German there's the word "uralt" which translates to "as old as ur." I see it as my duty to educate you.

Cool, I knew it was a Babylonian something though, just got confused by how often I've heard it as the name of a god in media, thanks Meister and Cybren.

Hmmm... That DOES involve sanity and gibbering, plus it's alot of fun (like Ninja Burger), but no! I was more or less referencing the comic by alluding to the fact that I have the Call of Cthulhu handbook, which features a ton of horrid abominable info and the original story by H.P. Lovecraft.

Also, Wikipedia says that Ur was a city sacred to the moon goddess, Nanna. Interestingly enough, Nanna was the name of Balder's wife in Norse mythology.

This Ur reminds me of the Cthulu-like beast Black Belt fought, only flipped horizontally. And of a better color quality.

Hey hey hey! You're not allowed to have revelations like that! You created the comic and wrote the gags! Saying you had a revelation of knowledge that you already had is like taking Thomas Edison's lightbulb from the past and bringing it to the future to proclaim it's yours and causing a temporal incursion and false premise of causality which-
Oh no, I've gone cross-eyed.
:ninja: And now, I'm a Ninja-Burger employee.
Khael!
10-09-2006, 02:58 PM
Naah, it happens like that all the time. The artist's characters and world evolves to become so in-depth that sometimes, the revelations get out of sequence.
Like I get this little picture in my head of my antihero saying something incredibly cool and plot-related, and then I go "Oh, shit! He's sending mercenaries against the capital city already!? Now what am I supposed to draw??" Who had the idea first? Me or the character?
revelation + :rmage: = world go boom
...this is why you shouldn't try to understand the guys with negative sanity scores. Or the one guy who's sanity score is represented by a complex equation of awesome power.
Hmmm... That DOES involve sanity and gibbering, plus it's alot of fun (like Ninja Burger), but no! I was more or less referencing the comic by alluding to the fact that I have the Call of Cthulhu handbook, which features a ton of horrid abominable info and the original story by H.P. Lovecraft.

Which one, the original or the D20 remake? I've been wanting to track down either, just curious. Also, where'd you manage to find something that horribly scarring?

Sorry to interrupt the flow of the conversation, but I just have a question. Maybe it's just me, but weren't the Light Warriors' souls supposed to go to that other dimension "where nothing good ever happens" to become fuel for Ur's summoning? They WERE standing on top of the summoning circle square.

I'm going to assume that it's the remake because of the D20 rule and the fact that it's labelled "Sixth Edition". I procured it at a Phantom of the Attic that was geared towards games and such, mostly. There are apparently a number of these around the Pittsburgh area. It may have also been at Games Unlimited (another local place I know) but I never looked there.
As for the summoning squircle, it's clear that the Light Warriors are effectively the summoners and that the Cthulhuloids BM slaughtered are on their way to a place where nothing good ever happens.
Of course, when you think about it, isn't that THIS WORLD?

Well, Mary Poppins wouldn't say nothing good ever happens here. "Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.", remember? And she's practically perfect in every way! (Just like RM!!!!)
And then, of course, she'd start singing and dance with the furniture. And talk to her umbrella.
PS thanks for clearing that up for me. Makes sense now.
