The Phantom Ring Painters Society Strike Again (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtzdxseO-gs)*

This is an amazing composite work of art. The talent and sprawling detail is astonishing, and even moreso how blithely the canvas flows from one piece to another. I'd definitely check out the other videos uploaded by this guy, some amazing stuff going on here.

*The Kanji they use for their name don't comprise an existing compound, so it's clearly a neologism of some kind--"circle/hoop + group + painter + cult + phantom/illusion..." my interpretation is just that: an interpretation

Wow, that's amazing. I don't see original artwork very often. It was very refreshing to see something different.

Quite nice.

A lot better than most abstract art things. This wasn't forced at all, very smooth and pleasant.

I can't help but think this should be in the "arts and crafts" forum, but anyway...

I liked how it grew from the beginning, and the music was nice. Very elaborate as well.

It's not ironing leaves onto a lampshade, so I felt it should go beyond Arts and Crafts...

Donno what you meant by "most abstract art things." Such a vague statement that I can't even try to place meaning on it unless explained.

But anyhoo. Thoroughly awesome. Makes me think a lot about the ephemeral nature of art. For Daisuke, it seems that it's not about recording it, it's about experiencing it as an intangible...and I like that.

I am just sad that he painted over some of those amazing creations.

Good find.

It was truly beautiful.

Wow. That is truly amazing. As someone trying to learn how to draw, my admiration for talented artists has increased by orders of magnitude -- and these guys are really incredible.

EDIT -- Also, I think that there's no reason why this shoudn't go in the Arts and Crafts forum. I think it's more like the "forum for art, and also crafts." Not "Arts and Crafts" as a compound. So, painting goes there, as does, say, metalworking. I mean, think about it, why would anyone have a forum dedicated to macaroni-pictures and popsice-stick skyscrapers?

Eh, A/C's always been more our community-art forum, for people's own sketches and wordings and such. General's fine for actual art-show type discussion.
