Watch this (http://ignoranceisntbliss.com/) and tell me what you think.

Parts of it I agree with, parts of it are b.s.

It's probably the most entertaining conspiracy theory movie I've seen, though.

...So like, where was the music from? 'cause that part was pretty awesome.

Also I feel the need to start researching nano-tech now. I mean, I'm pretty sure it turned into bullshit right around the first mention of Darpa, but if nanotech is coming along that far, it's pretty neat.

I tried watching it, I really did. But with all the stuff going on the background I couldn't shake the feeling that it was trying to brain wash me. What I saw was nothing I haven't heard before though. In fact I heard at least some of it in Metal Gear Solid 2. Clearly it's all a work of THE PATRIOTS. But seriously, I think the biggest reason people don't know about some of the things in there is not cause they may not be true. But because, like it says, people don't care.

I've always wondered, are conspiracy theorists people who stumble across information, and completly believe the conspiracy so they pass it on, or do they just think its a fun way to make asses out of people?

These people really know what they're doing though. They start out with true stuff, stuff thats believable, and that a lot of people know, and then they move to stuff thats slightly more difficult to believe, then they go straight off the tracks. And the whole time they're pumping up your adrenaline with the flashing video clips and playing that music. It's good to know that the crazies know how to manipulate our willigness to believe stuff, and our emotions.

... holy crap. My mind was just blown.

It sounds like somebody's been watching The Matrix a bit too often.

Well, I prefer outright propaganda than the real professional type, the one you can't even really notice.

Like.... here's an example. Does anyone remember thinking that American soldiers would be greeted as liberators in Iraq? Those who thought that bought into the propaganda machine (hell, I did too), part of the genius is that no one remembers within a few months, either...

or the fact that the American military and secret forces admitted on fox news to using torture and even demonstrated it on TV. that's the sort of propaganda i hate, because it's not even explicit, it's totally implicit. their messages are socialized into the population slowly but surely.

that video was right about one thing, society is largely like a flock of sheep.

I know! For fifteen minutes of the same repetitive techno-industrial bullshit, it actually came off sounding pretty cool. Kudos to them on that.

As for the content? Meh. I liked the part where the video says that "The History Channel says that FDR allowed Pearl Harbor to happen" or somesuch nonsense, even though I saw that special and most people interviewed were saying that no freaking intelligence whatsoever regarding a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor even crossed Roosevelt's desk. As for Bush, he's a dumb fuck that doesn't read anything that crosses his desk, so that's probably what went wrong there.

And the nanochip thing.... Sheesh, I've been hearing about that one for about 10 years now. It's just some doomsday prophecy some folks hacked together from flawed interpretations of Nostradamus and the book of Revelations, with some George Orwell thrown in for flavor.

But yeah, "government conspiracy = chip in your head = mark of the beast = ZOMG APOCALYPSE!!!1!" is nothing new at all. Cute video, though.
