All right, who is the bright person who decided to shun people into the dank world of posting youtube/video site links instead of putting down a text article? It's getting on my nerves when I think about people who have dial-up or can't see the video sites because they're blocked for some reason by their school/work server (And the proxies that unblock them are blocked as well.)

Just, tell me and go away so I can hunt the person down.

*cough*
You know the point of video's right?

It's so people can see what's happening in a video, instead of reading a lengthy transcript of said video.

Ofcourse, if you're volunteering to transcript every goddamn funny, interesting, or otherwise relevant video on the internet, be my guest.

Yeah, but... what if I were someone who uses dial-up right now? (I do use dial-up at home for my main connection.) I would have to wait like an hour in order to see the video.

Upgrade to whatever's faster?

Or accept the fact that you can't see the videos. Seriously, you can't substitute... a fragment from Who's Line is it Anyways (to take a for instance) with a transcript of it. It'll kill it. *shrugs*

You're entitled to your righteous anger of course. Carry on with your crusade.

I can't upgrade faster. I only make 1100 USD/mo combined income with my mother (yes I live with my mother at the age of 19.) If I get a job now, that would go down because right now we're being paid State SSI.

Heh, isn't that ironic that State SSI is higher than what people would get if they had a job? Thats some pretty good evidence that we need to raise that minumum wage. If people were just paid enough from their jobs, to say an amount greater then the SSI that would actually encourage them to get a job, and not to an amount thats equal to it, considering they'll just take the SSI cause it doesn't involve work.

You could also go about doing odd jobs around the neighborhood, or getting a job "unofficially" like some of the err...foreigners do so that you're not listed as having a job and can still benefit from the SSI.

Or you could get a wifi card, then check and see if any of your neighbors have a wireless network, buy an antenna, and mooch off of them.

It's what most of MY neighbors do to me. Only had some trouble when one guy was using my connection to send spam so Road Runner got a bit pissy.

Furthermore, I live with MY mother and younger brother at the ripe old age of 19 as well, so don't feel all lonelylike.

This is actually sort of a poignant commentary on the increasing divide between the technological haves and have nots.

You're still not gonna get anybody to stop posting Youtube links, though.

Trust me, you ain't missing much.

What is really funny, is my last update on FFward involved 75% you tube embeds...

But do you really want me to tell you exactly everything that happened in the Crisis Core Trailer? Or give you a blow by blow on how nice FFVI looks on the GBA, what with a clip of the Gilgamesh battle?

I just can't be bothered to type it all up! Damn it, I'm lazy!

You aren't really missing anything at all. The only real one that i've seen and liked is teh Star Wars: A Clone Apart series a guy is making. I have dial-up at home so i don't watch the vids at home. I go to the local library and watch em because they have high speed cable.

That's because you're used to it, or some other thing is making you "act" lazy. Anyway, the gilgamesh battle in FFVI? What a rip of FFV. Oh wait, they already did that with FFI on the GBA, nvm.

Dude, $1100 a month is $6.86 an hour @ 40 hours a week, for one person. If you and your Mom go and get a job at minimum wage you will make more. Wisconsin minimum wage is $6.50/hr, for full time with 2 people that is $2080 a month. Also jobs aren't that hard to find, hell Walmart pays cashiers $10/hr. Get a job and get off dial up.

Soon the minimum wage will be 7.15 USD/hr though, so eh. It may already be. But that's only because I saw the adverts on a Madisonian Bus.

Only if they can get full-time though. And national minimum wage is like 5.50/hour, it's only in select states where it's higher than that.

Once the new congress comes in, the national wage increase is one of the first things that's supposed to come through but I mean, don't count your congressional legislations until they're hatched, you know?
