Well, noone else was making a post for it, so I thought maybe most of you missed it.
Always liked some of the GTA formula (The free-roaming, do whatever style), but not all of it (The bloodbath violence).
Welllll, what happens when you subtract guns and cars (but not projectiles or a wide variety of modes of transport) and add a good plot, awesome play mechanics, and more actitives than you can shake a shaking stick at?
Bully
It's totally awesome and fun. The sense of accomplishment is really high in this game (as shown by the ongoing quest to collect more "room trophies" (story highlights and mini-game quest completions.)
Go rent it. One warning though, it's load times can be just a smidge much, so get used to waiting 5-7 seconds.

If Jack Thompson says this game is destroying America, then that's all the information I need.
I'm buying it!

Yeah he went on a bit of a crusade against it and lost. All he really did was help publicise it further, the moron!
As to the game though, I heard it was a bit... easy. Not really a real threat if you can't die and the like.

He was also charged with contempt, was he not? I remember watching Adam Sessler verbally bitchslap Jack in a debate about Bully.

Well, Jack is tired of being bullied by the Supreme Court, so he'll probably make a mod for the game where you go around, and paddle men in black robes, and....
Wow, that got dirty fast.

Yeah, I bought the game and I actually REALLY liked pretty much all of it. The only disappointing part was how easy and short the game was. I beat the game twice and I got 20 hours from it on the first run. But, it's like.. Bully was so easy that I would end up doing around 6 missions in one sitting without stopping and ended up beating the whole game in 4 days... (mostly because I played it nonstop during those days)
The game had an awesome story, and my most favorite character was definitely Gary because he seemed like the most fleshed-out character with tons of different characteristics. After having beaten the game, I still love doing the Go-Kart races, because the sense of speed is awesome.
Amazing game overall. I actually kinda wish that I rented instead of buying because the whole experience ended pretty quick (but with a nice bang heard throughout)

Short but sweet pretty much describes it.
The combat is probably the most viscerally satisfying I've encountered except for Dead Rising. Seriously the first time you use the pimp slap finisher, or find the secret character specific finishers(Algie!), just too awesome. The story and characters are well done and the epic scenes at the end of each chapter are totally perfect.

I'm surprised GtA and Bully came out or stayed out at all. In GI, Bully suffered severe criticism from anti-teach-kids-to-do-bad-stuff-in-school law people. It even got a court case. Same with that one GTA, what with the "inapropriate" hidden scene. They had to re-release GTA with the stuff cut. Are these people buying this for their 5-year-olds? No! So why should they care? If your old enough, and if the game rocks, play it. GTA is like a classic, and Bully is new-age awesome.

Because despite all that, GTA shits diamonds and pisses oil. It kicks arse to play as well. Bully is the same.
Are these people buying this for their 5-year-olds? Sadly, yes. I've seen it happen, as that new report from those NIMF people says the main problem is parents not paying attention to what their kids are getting them to buy.

Because despite all that, GTA shits diamonds and pisses oil.Well, that, and the fact that Rockstar, like its namesake, just doesn't give a flying fuck what the lawyers want to bitch about. Just rocking.

Yes. Parent bitch thet their kid plays a game they bought them. There is a frweakin rating on the front of the godamn box! If you see M, and on the back it says "extremely graphic acts of ho tappin, drug dealin, peep killin and crime commiten G!" maybe you should not buy your 8 year old GTA. Of course parents never want to admit they made a mmistake, so they blame everyone else. I am interested in Bully, as I like GTA gameplay, but not the violent gritty style.
