Looks interesting, this. If only the Gundam MMO was English...
At least this looks like a good replacement.

What Im likeing its that its following the korean mmo concept. Free to play unless you want to buy specialized parts. I just hope that the parts you buy are'nt overpowered. It would royally screw people who dont want to pay the micro transactions.

While this piques my intrest as an advocate of giant Robot on Robot Action, I have a long bad history with Korean MMOs that use microtransactions. In fact I hate them, because everyone I've every played the items in the game are so gaddamn expensive that you either have to buy them, or your screwed using items made for characters half your level.
So while I'll still play this I long for the day they made World of Robotech, Gundam Wars or Zone of Endersquest Online.

Well, there is a Gundam Online. It's in moonspeak but apparently quite a few of the Japanese players type English so it should be okay. Cheap too.
On topic, I too am a litle worried about the microtransaction stuff. It could become absolutely necessary to buy these parts just to be competent.
Q: Anyone know the system requirements? I'd like to try it but I'm unsure if my laptop will run it. Thanks. Also a look around the main site produced nothing.

Oh yeah, we had some awesome times with Battlefield, but that's all they gave us. We demand more! Invid invasion was a sham that could not compare to Battlefield.
As for Gundam Online, I remember someone mentioning it but really it was the only thing I could come up with for a Guild Wars with Giant Robot title.

Well... Yeah.. they wont give me a Live action Macross movie... nor a Robotech MMORPG (or a GOOD game of it) nor they give us freakin front mission online... but gundam crossfire is out... ARGH!

Why do we get hosed on the hot mech action?
Maybe I should learn Japanese and get the gundam MMO.
I signed up for the beta on this game, but no reply yet. The trailer is freaking awesome if you can watch it (Its HD) and I am really psyched about this game. Hopefully it will tide me until we can get a transformers mmo.
Mmm... I can dream...

I've had my eye on this since E3, though I don't think I'll give up my current style of MMO's for it. Still, I imagine it can offer the occasional temporary sidetrack, like games such as Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament do for me occasionally.
I've signed up for the beta, but information about it in general is lacking. I assume they'll e-mail you if you were accepted into beta? Anyone know for certain?
Also, are there any forums, official or otherwise, for it?
They'll e-mail you if you were accepted.
And there is, but there's no point in going there unless you have the game.

Geez, those graphics are awful, and it all seemed pretty linear. I'm disappointed.
They really do need a nice true FPS MMO, though.

I just got my Invite in the mail, downloading as we speak.
EDIT: Downloaded it, played, and so far I'm liking it.
My call sign is Treble and I was assigned to East, although I don't think it matters. (I think they are putting everyone on East atm) I have been playing all night and I love it.

Same here. Got mine in the mail just as I logged on, and let me just say I hope there are giant, needless robot Flamethrowers.
Because, y'know, flamethrowers aren't necessarily ideal weapons in Robot x Robot combat, but look really cool anyway.
The best allusion I could think of is the techy nerd's version of two babes in bikini's spraying each other with water.
Addendum:
I'm downloading it still, but for some reason right when it gets to 92% finished the download stops, restarts and tries to finish off the download at .1 kb's a second.....
Not getting it any time soon. The download's FTP, which may be the problem so I'm trying to use FireFTP, then Core FTP to download it.
If anyone gets the full thing, would they mind sending it to me?

I'm also in the beta. It's not a bad game, but I could see it being one that you have to be in a particular mood to play. Fortunately, there's going to be no monthly fees or whatever so its a game that you can actually buy and play when you just want to slaughter giant customizable robots.
Good points - Giant customizable, robots, mix of ranged and melee combat, diverse well balanced weapons, low system requirements, pretty fun over all.
Bad points - A seemingly limited choice of landscapes. Only four game types when there's clear potential for more, not a lot of customization available at the first level.
While the graphics are indeed not insanely good, I didn't mind so much. It did give that nice "Gundam" feel to it, and it was able to run really fast and I experienced next to no lag.

third bad point, there's an NDA due to it being closed beta

Indeed, but I didn't say anything that isn't already listed on the website or in Q&As with the makers. And besides, they can't catch me if they don't know who I am!!! MWAHAHAHAHA

1up says it's coming out for 360 on Jan. 1st, 2007, but then again they said GoW was coming out November 14th, even after the 14th.
Bottom line, 100 v. 100 battles, customizable characters, weapons and vehicles for purchase, clans, Unreal Engine 3.
Yeah.

We should, seriously, I havent managed to get the equipment necessary to go above the beginner channel, and no-one plays on that channel, so I have to get assraped on amateur and get like 1/27 kill/death ratio.

As far as FPS MMO, I remember at the last E3 (or the E3 before last) there was one demo'ed that seemed to be along that vein (though I'm not certain it is 100% FPS MMO). I think it was called Tabula Rasa or such? Link here (http://www.playtr.com/features/features.html). Of course, there's always Planetside.
