What are some good CO-OP games for a PS2/XBOX??

I really enjoy playing with my friends and its much much more fun in co-op:D

For an RPG, I assume Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Symphonia had 4 player Co-Op on the Cube, so I assume Abyss has at least 2 player Co-Op. Possibly 4 if you've got a mulit-tap.

I highly suggest getting 'splinter cell: chaos theory' just for the crazy assed hi-jinks that go on being to splinter cells. I don't know of it being on the PS2, but I'm certain it's on the XBox.

Uhhh, Halo 1, if you don't already have it (I mean, you must, right?)

I must've gotten a good 400 hours of co-op play out of that game. Just start two new profiles, and then proceed to use those profiles to beat the game on Normal, Heroic, and Legendary, so you get all those little emblems. Repeat.

Add friendly-fire and silly hijinks to taste.

Dynasty Warriors 4 or 5 if you like to go around destroying massive armies. It's 2p though. Also, the moveset is quite limited.

Also Champions of Norath and Champions: Return to Arms are good for up to 4p action. It's a decent dungeon crawler.

Ratchet: Gladiator is 2p co-op, but it's a great platformer. It's very fun to play.

Timesplitters: future perfect

war of the monsters isn't co-op, but the 2 player versus is always fun

also, seconding on the Champions of Norrath and the Dynasty Warriors

Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance is great (need to find a copy of 2 still) and Killzone has great multiplayer. I wouls also suggest Metal Slug Anthology, IF IT WOULD STOP BEING DELAYED!

Timesplitters: future perfect

I actually largely found Timesplitters 2 to be the superior game.

But Timesplitters 3 has a much more enjoyable storyline.

Ratchet: Gladiator is 2p co-op, but it's a great platformer. It's very fun to play.

It's called Ratchet: dead lock

Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is 1-player for the main storyline, but it has a handful of multi-player mini-games that are pretty fun, like Capture the Flag and Conquest (Work as a team to destroy the other team's base without losing your own).

Star Wars: Battlefront II. Good multiplayer fun, whether you're into Star Wars or not.

But Timesplitters 3 has a much more enjoyable storyline.

It takes a lot of storyline to make up for fully customizable controls.

Sniper zoom mapped to L3/R3? Sublime.

Contra: Shattered Soldier and Neo Contra are fantastic shooters for the PS2. They're only 2 player though.

Note I said shooter and not first person shooter. There is a difference.

Try Alien Hominid, or Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires.

I'm going to second Tales of the Abyss. As long as you all know what you're doing it's great in multiplayer. Might make getting huge combos easier too. Also they fixed the camera problems Symphonia had so it's all good.

Tales is a damn fine game too, but not one I can see myself playing with others, do to our complete lack of co-ordination or tactics.
