Fighter could be right. Maybe Lefeinese show their affections by tossing people in jail, and yelling, and showing them weapons.
I mean, Japanese bow instead of shaking hands. What a bunch of freaks!

O O... woah... behoove? What's that mean?
And is it just me, or does that place look kind of asian? The windows look asian to me. I don't know about anyone else, but I think it looks kinda asian. Either that, or they locked them in a boat jail. It kind of looks like a boat in the background. Might be a boat. Or an asian boat. Maybe they're in an asian boat. But I think they're in a boat.

The comic may be kinda weird, but the above post calling it that brings to mind pots, and kettles, and accusations of blackness.
Black Mage is happy (in the dream) because he's going back to Hell, where he can once again have a chance at A. ruling it and B. destroying the world. This is to say nothing of his sheer glee over the deaths of his incredibly annoying party members.
And, I don't know, doesn't Asian architecture have more like, rice paper and so forth? The room they're in reminds me more of some New England storehouse than anything else.

Yay! I was right about what the thread title would be!
Moving on...if they were to be hung, BM would die first just because "everything exists to hurt BM". Of course, he's happy in his dream because he gets to see them die before he does.

I'd say that the reason that he's happy is because, even though he died, he gets to in the end watch those he hates most (Namely, the other Light Warrior) die first. And he's the evil, petty sort of person that can appreciate that no matter the circumstances. Which is why I love him.

Why wouldn't the man the universe picks on and tortures want to die?

Whats really so wierd? I mean seeing them hung up at the beginning of the comic, until it becomes apparent that its just Black Mage dreaming, whle hes in jail. Which is where they have been thrown. And its obvious that hes happy because of seeing the others die before him. >_> Not that wierd of a comic. Also I love Fighter in this one.

Well, I imagine that another tradition would be to throw cans of paint as their way of saying "I'm sorry" or something.

Haha, who is gonna have to save them this time then.
I wouldnt expect them to save themself. Have they ever done that before?
Right?

O O...woah... behoove? What's that mean?
When all else fails, use dictionaries (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/behoove):
be·hoove /bɪˈhuv/ Pronunciation Key - Spelled Pronunciation[bi-hoov], -hooved, -hoov·ing. (chiefly in impersonal use)
–verb (used with object) 1. to be necessary or proper for, as for moral or ethical considerations; be incumbent on: It behooves the court to weigh evidence impartially.
2. to be worthwhile to, as for personal profit or advantage: It would behoove you to be nicer to those who could help you.
–verb (used without object) 3. Archaic. to be needful, proper, or due: Perseverance is a quality that behooves in a scholar.
This is the first time I've actually seen Muzza Wuza implying they should stop Fighter from being Fighter. Normally it is him who messes up the plans.

Of course, BM may also be happy that he fulfilled his dream of watching his comrades die, AND gets another shot at hell.
(I'm still of the opinion that BM's soul is too evil for the Fiends to hope to suppress him.)

Is BM going Emo?
More and more we see him less inclined on killing everyone but actually more inclined to diying/killing himself and causing non-lethal pain to those around him

Fighter should handle all diplomatic efforts, with all the progress he's making they'll be handing over the air orb any second. (well, it doesn't seem like they bothered to disarm them anyway, so they can't be that threatening ^_^)

The only one after Black Mage who has a two word name, I guess.

Hmm. This comic doesn't seem entirely necessary. 'Specially since half of it is yet another "BM likes it when they die" joke.
In other news:
KABOOOOOM! Happy Exploding Tuesday, y'all!

OK they need to knock Fighter out or something cause he is just making things a lot worse. Which is a job usually reserved for Black Mage.

I love BM's happy face as he's hanging in his dream. It's cute, in a morbid, BM kind of way. :D

you think the order they are hanging is the amount of hate he has over every light warrior?

Am I the only one who thinks that the top set of panels could be made into a really nifty wallpaper? I mean, we all know that's one of the likeliest ways they're going to die--at the hands of a mob of violent townsfolk, after the repercussions of the worldwide swath of carnage they've cut finally catch up with them.
Also:
Why wouldn't the man the universe picks on and tortures want to die?
"Man"? Remember, BM's only just begun to be bitch-slapped by the Puberty Fairy =P .

They have already drew their swords. Fighter shouldn't be knocked out! He's the meatshield.
Anyway why hasn't BM hadokened the little town/city? It's the easy way out and it involves mass murder!

RM is probably going to come up with a plan to escape
*is hoping for a jail break parody [an exceptionally critical one however]*

If RM comes up with a plan to escape, then I hope it does not involve talking with other prisoners. Otherwise, he may end up offering "dag" again except it would be called Lupa this time.

One question: In the first two panels, why are Fighter and Thief's left shoes missing?

That was great, Brian.
And I don't think that BM is happy because HE'S being hung: I think he's more happy that THEY all got hung BEFORE him. So he could watch. And laugh. He probably wouldn't mind dying if he got to see them all die first.

One question: In the first two panels, why are Fighter and Thief's left shoes missing?
Who knows why. Remember, it's in BM's dream. Maybe they mentioned the term "behoove" beforehand and BM's subconscious interpreted it as "removing hooves", and we all know that "hooves" is another term for a four-legged animal's feet.
But why don't we ask Brian himself why it really is.

Bah! It's not Fighter's shoe that's missing, it's the shadow color of his boot. I don't know what's up with the bottom of Thief's foot, though... I don't think yellow is shadow color of black..

Leifein is where you get NUKE.
What would be awesome is if that's how they executed prisoners and then their mage casts NUKE and BM casts Hadoken, and it's totally DBZ fireball showdown!!!

Likely because those are the bottoms of their shoes.

Hanging isn't the most peaceful way to die. If the neck isn't immediately broken or the person being hung isn't decapitated, he or she might struggle violently before succumbing to asphyxiation. So, it's entirely possible that they both kicked off their shoes while hanging.
Or maybe the Lefeinians like to steal the left shoes of their prisoners.
Or maybe it's just the bottoms of their shoes.
But anyway, it was BM's dream, so anything's possible. *shrugs*

They're the bottom of Thief's shoes & Fighter's boots, respectively. (And since you don't even BOTHER to complain about Red Mage you should already know that.)
Because they were done in the limited, FF1-3j style, I only used colors that already existed on the sprites. I suppose I could've gone w/ red for fighter & blue for Thief. But those colors looked stupid, so I didn't.
And I've seen Thief's type of ninja shoes w/ rubberized bottoms for grip, so that's why they look that way.

Dammit!
Cygnet's got a fine point there - hanging can leave you dying aggravatingly slow if it's not executed properly. I recall it being able to take 30 minutes, or an hour... I think...
