Favourite Character in All Gaming II?

Thought I'd reincarnate this thread, as the last one collapsed under it's own weight.

As for the question, that's hard. I'd personally say that ALL the characters from Planescape Torment (even Nordom! but not Vhailor, 'cus he was shallow and got on my nerves) were superb, and the PST writers should all be given a lifetime supply of cookies.

I'm so surprised that no-one has mentioned Minsc. I thought everyone loved Minsc! I do... platonically of course. Jan Jansen is funny, and Jaheira is a very deep and intruiging character. Mazzy rocks too, if only she lived in the 3E ruleset though, then she could have been a Paladin. Jon Irenicus is also the coolest villain ever Ever EVER!!!

What else... Oswald and Marelie Fiddlebender from IWD (Marelie in IWD:II only) are just great- "Say hello to the nice adventurers now Marelie"!!! Isair and Madae are pretty good too. Sherincal got on my nerves SO badly.

Elmo in TOEE is pretty funny, but Otis lost my vote after he... ok, I won't spoil.

I'm going to have to vote for the entire villainous cast of Xenogears. (Why the heroes didn't have even half as much characterization is beyond me.) I mean, sure, you could compare Ramsus, Grahf and Krelian to Cloud, Sephiroth, and Hojo respectively, but Ramsus is better at "I-think-I'm-a-clone"ery, Krelian has the mad scientist gig down better, and Grahf is twice the badass Seph is. Plus Grahf doesn't have a complex about his mom. Or need to carry a +5 Sword of Obvious Compensation For Something.

Freya, Amarant, and Steiner - Final Fantasy 9

The greatest would have to be The Amazon from NES Pro Wrestling. A guy whose "special moves" involved eating the opponent's head or beating him about the face with a wrench... and then HIDING it! The only character who didn't get cheered (best cheer effect ever... the old NES like on Mike Tyson's Punch Out!) when he did his big moves. Fantastic...

If anyone from FF is gonna win this one, it should be Setzer from FF6. Granted, he had low stats, bad weapons, and a worse skill, but you gotta admit he had style. I mean, he has a casino in his AIRSHIP!

And definitely not Sephiroth. His badassness is countered by his Oedipus complex and lack of doing *anything* for the first half of FF7.

Other potential winners:
Master Chief - C'mon, the guy can flip a tank. He deserves some credit.
The Lost Vikings - But only as a group.
Any Lemming. Ever.

And does anyone at all remember Shadow of the Beast? Beastie gets a vote from me just for surviving that game.

So far there have been 2 votes for Sephiroth, but 3 specifically AGAINST him. I think if so many people think he isn't the coolest ever, then he must not be.

Especially since I cast a vote against him.

Whoever thought Squall was the greatest probably liked Anakin Skywalker in "Attack of the Clones". *spastic twitch* He is redeemed for saying Vivi and Magus were better.

But, of all the games I have ever played, the greatest character of them all has to be:

Shadow, from Final Fantasy 6.

He's a freakin' ninja.
His dog eats people.
He has a great theme song.
And he attempted to stop the greatest villian ever from doing what made him so great. That's gotta be worth major points.

Anyone who opted to leave Shadow behind needs to be flogged.

For Ps2 I had to pick an old favorite of mine, the infamous Lloyd!! (From Legend of Dragoon) I mean you gotta like a guy that kills one of the main characters. (Lavitz) And he looks straight out cool.

For X-box it's Masterchief from Halo. (DUH) Cuz he was frozen forever and can still kill people. ( And cuz hes got a person talking to him in his head at all times...the annoyance.)

And for Gamecube of course uh.....................of course i chose someone from super smash bros melle, Marth. (I picked a name out of the hat for that one.)

Samus Aran, all the way. Made an amazing opening as an edge-of-your-seat game character...then turns out to be a woman! She has a huge assortment of weaponry and special features for her suit. Not just that, but if I could scrunch up into a ball and actually look like a perfect sphere, I think I would be pretty popular too!

Cloud is even cooler, for the same reasons. Cloud and Squall are a lot alik, only Cloud was less whiney.

Frog from Chrono Trigger. He speaks old english and uses the Masamune, and he's a friggin' frog.

And Sephiroth, for being the coolest villan ever.
