Saturday had our players squaring off to face Galactus. Unfortunately, no one won, which meant that Galactus ate Earth. Nice job, heroes!

To take the sting out of having the planet eaten, we also served cake to celebrate June and July birthdays. Unfortunately, Apocalypse came with me, and he and Galactus had a face-off for dominion over the lemon cake before the tournament.

That's not upstate NY that's the north country. It's cheap as heck there but around here near the center of the state you are lucky to get a 3 bedroom apartment for under $600.

Now we're talkin'! This is closer to Ottawa's rates anyhow. It does depend heavily on the area/quality of the city though. Lowest I've EVER seen is about $500/month for a small one-bedroom apartment with utilities in a high-crime area and the building smells like old people and mouldy cheese. I'd rather pay a $100-150 premium myself to get moved to a building where they've heard of air fresheners and locks on doors.

Since we don't seem to have a screenshot thread I figure I'll post this here. The epicness of it surpasses a face-pic of me anyway.

I used to mention this pc game I play, Superpower 2, pretty randomly on the forum. It's an RTS where you play as any country on the globe that you want and do basically anything you want.

I started a savegame four years ago and since then it has traveled through three computers, two states, and two colleges. I finally finished it tonight and feel like I just accomplished a life goal, as trivial as it sounds. I played as Burundi, a small nation in the middle of Africa, as a challenge. After a couple decades I had a good amount of conquered countries under my belt and a cache of nuclear weapons. After the four years of war after war and treaty after treaty, I was faced with a problem. I had the entire world conquered except for Russia, but every time I invaded them my homeland would be leveled by nukes. I pondered several different options for months, but not until tonight did I think up the solution I used.

So then of course the power of the combined awesomeness of Mauve and Zarber on the same half of the country threatened to destroy mankind as we know it, so we had to balance out the supremely awesome nerdery with something resembling a sport. Which turned out to be minigolf. AND I TOTALLY WON SOMEHOW.

Not really. Pirate ghosts would be the mindless shades left after a pirate's death to walk the ship and forever repeat their last actions. Ghost pirates would be ghosts of pirates who may or may not have actually died and would have their own minds and volitions to swashbuckle and pillage.

To clarify, we were playing Mario Kart in an arcade, and apparently the arcade version (besides letting you play as Pac-Man!) takes a picture of you before the race and turns you into your character. Well its kind of hard to spell while being mauled to death by a tiny white furball with 22 tiny little claws and who knows how many teeth. The kitten has two extra toes on each of its front paws so they are like twice as wide as they should be. Which means when it grabs me that's pretty much all she wrote.

Also, all animals are basically giant sacs of fluid so in a way we are all pretty viscous.

Yeah, the poor little thing has severe eye problems. For some reason her eyes don't water like they should, so they always look kind of unreal. We rescued her from a shelter, so neither we nor the vet knows what caused this.

The band's name is Djinn Tonique, hence the lime on the floor and the glass of supposedly alcohol I'm holding (it's only water). Our band plays a lot or rock/R&B/soul/pop/latin tunes from the 50's until today's music. We had our first show yesterday but two members of the band weren't there (the trumpet player and our second male singer). Our next gig is next week-end, where we will actually be making some money (not a lot though).

This is just one of the bands I'm in right now, the others are jazz big band, jazz combo and classical choir (for school).

And yes, saxophone DOES make everything better, thanks:P^^
