I had to wear a white uniform for mandatory service in the hospital too, sadly no pictures of me exist from that time. You know, good place to wear white. Blood, feces and vomit are shot around pretty much everywhere, mostly the latter two where I worked. If I were to decide the color for the uniforms people have to wear there, It'd be brown. But apparently it's white for everyone but specialists. I guess random civil servants don't count as specialists. Around here those who did military service instead tend to place themselves above me because they think they did this shit country a favor by learning skills in the hope of never having to use them while I was actually in the shit. And obviously I don't mean a battlefield, I mean the endoscopy department of a hospital. And man, did I love that they always told me that I had to wear protective equipment AFTER I needed it and then they told me why I needed it "Normally you'd have to wear three hazmats over each other to deal with patients with this particular condition. Well, hope you didn't catch anything, else we'll see you again as a patient and your asshole from the inside". But hey, I survived, I don't know what kinda lethal illnesses I'm carrying around with me now, but it's been eight months since I left, so I assume I'm fine.

The uniform is grey, all of it. The only white I'm wearing are the gaiters/leg warmers. During summer my gloves would also be white and I'd be wearing a white helmet.

My mom and stepdad are planning a move to South Dakota for their retirement and asked me to help clean out their current house (the one I pretty much grew up in). There's around 400 comics there, all from the late 60s, in various conditions. Including these two gems that he didn't even realize he had.

I bought the boxes, frames, boards and bags this week and protected everything since they've all been sitting in a cardboard box in a damp basement for a decade. Luckily they survived Sandy. No idea what any of it is worth, but this feels like something I'll end up passing down to my children...if I have any. And considering the size of my comic collection now, that possibility is becoming more and more unlikely.

For those who haven't seen it, Threepio and R2 move and chat with each other while you wait in line, and there's an airport-style arrivals/departures board behind the camera. You can't see it here, but there are also a pair of Mon Calamari in the control room opposite Threepio.

Every time you go on the ride, you have a chance to visit three of nine different planets. It randomly selects a plot route every time you make the jump to light speed. My sister was the Rebel spy during one of our trips, which was rad as hell.

Sadly the Boba Fett hat picture turned out shitty, but it's the only one I had of me wearing it in the park itself. So ignore the fact that I look terrifying.

Also also-- the new CARS LAND in California Adventure is REALLY COOL. It looks exactly like the movie, and the Radiator Springs Racers is fantastic. It's also SUPER CROWDED. Like, I got into the park an hour before it opened to the public because I stayed at a Disneyland hotel, and so I actually got to ride it with a 20 minute wait in line, but as soon as the park opened officially the wait time immediately jumped to two hours.

Oh man, they do this show in Tomorrowland where they get a bunch of little kids between the ages of 4 and 6 and teach them how to fight with lightsabers, and it's the most adorable thing ever because guys dressed as Vader, Maul and stormtroopers show up and try to convince the amazed/dazed kids to join the dark side. Then the jedi lead the kids in fighting off the sith with plastic lightsabers and it is THE BEST THING.

The guy who played Maul was REALLY good-- he had the creepy Maul-walk down and he could do the double lightsaber spin really really well.

In case it's hard to see, that an NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and a BetaMax player. There'll also be an Atari 2600 and a VHS player on that side, as well as a DVD player, a Wii, a Wii U, and an Xbox 360 on the other spur of the desk (hooked up to a flatscreen). Two additional roommates means a large console collection (with several overlaps). This house will also sport another Wii, another Wii U, two more 360s, another GC, another N64, two PS3s, and a PS4 in either bedrooms or the living room. Plus at least four PCs. I shall insist on power strips (set to off when not in use), but all the same I'm not looking forward to seeing the electric bill...

And yes, apparently none of our childhoods had any SEGA love...
