Here's the link (http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_855907.html) Brian gave us on the front page. Whaddya guys think? Is it possible?
I hope so. It would be a remarkable thing.

Beside the fact that this is going on in russia and it has not reached a nation press does not suprise me and encourages my idea that this is fake. Most likely someone has been reading x-men.

Its been covered in the British press sadly (blame the Sun). I very much doubt the veracity of this story though as well the site running it is famed for crazy stories (aliens stole my husband! etc.)

Well... it would be cool if it was for real... And I'm sure Brian will develope his power soon if it's true. But to be honest I too think someone has been reading too much
X-Men. But as I said, it would be cool if it would happen here too.

it is possible, theoretically, to refocus light with the lense of the eyes to a spectrum that most people are unable to see

Not to mention the other weird things that happen to people in that country. Come on you people, it's Russia! Home of Rasputin! Land of nuclear waste!
And anyway, X-Ray vision is much more a Superman thing than X-Men. Jeez people. ;)

I'll believe it when I see it. Er, when I see her doing it. Or something.

I agree with Devil, until someone gives me concrete proof, I'll treat it like any other story from one of the supermarket tabloids and give it just as much credibility as "Saddam's secret plan involving radioactive aliens!"

Shhh, be quiet Zero, or else Bush will abduct you and interrogate you... You know the words Saddam, Hoessein and Irak make him twitch. He might think you ment it.

X-rays would only allow her to see bones and stuff right?
How hard can it be to fake that?
"Do I have a bone here?"
"Yes."
"SHE HAS X-RAY VISION!"

Thank's for remembering me, I forgot those too. But now we're getting off-topic, I think.

A better test would be, "I just swallowed a handful of change. How much is it worth, and how many of each denomination does it break down into?"

x-rays don't just see bones. They also use x-rays to see inside luggage in airports, remember? And I suppose it's possible. X-rays are a spectrum of light. For some reason, this girl's eyes can sense light in the x-ray spectrum. Pretty cool if it's true.

However, wouldn't X-ray damage tissue or something?

Yeah, but you have to emit X-rays, have them pass through something, and then hit a special film. For her to possibly have X-ray vision she would have to be able to see that part of the spectrum, AND have something emitting X-rays on the other side. You can't even do it on 'echos' so she can't be projecting them.

Wooooow... science... I should've paid more attention in biology.
Anyways, if this article were even being written seriously, they would've explained how it's possible. Like "Usually this is how X-rays work, but it's possible to have X-ray vision if this, that, and this."

Tough, but fair. In any case, she thinks the scientists are "hiding something", so who knows what's up with them? (Or her.)
I don't think she's seeing X-Rays, per se. I think it's, again, more of a Superman idea. I mean, she could be seeing a different part of the spectrum, but not neccessarily X-Rays, right?
