He is wrong. It is pronounced Li-ch (l[i^]ch). According to dictionary.com in any case. They are typically correct.

Dictionary.com seems to say that "Lik" is the old Anglo Saxon way of pronouncing it.

I understand, if any of you play DnD in frogotten realms I pronounce Gensai as "Jinsay" but it's pronounced "Genisay", I think my way's better.

So I can't pass an opinion

I pronounce it, chõcõbõ, I think. Basically, you start off with choke, then follow it with a o sound, as in coco. Then finish it off with a bow (as in bow & arrow).

Choke-O-Bow

Like whoever said, 'Lick' is both the original pronunciation of the word. In Old English. If your friends is a millenia or so old, then I understand. Of course, its original spelling was 'Lik', 'Licke', 'Liche', 'Lich', or however the writer felt like.

Yeah, now its Lich witch b**ch. But it used to be 'Lik,' like I said. If he was born one and a half thousand years ago, then he's justified with Lik, otherwise tell him this is America we don't eat crumpets and we have never pronounced it Lik.

Daemon and Demon(though now they mean different things) did arrise from the random spellings of Old English(the same word{even names} are often spelled differently, even in the same work)

First yes it is america, but how would you know it wasn't England, (You could have ofended me ;) ) and also we were arguing over olden pronuciations.

But as i said daemon is still pronounce like we pronounce it now...

Not exaclty. It wasn't pronounced 'Day-mon', but it wasn't pronounced 'Dee-mon' either. The fused AE that was used had a unique pronunciation that is not used in modern english. The equivalent is 'Dee-mon.' Also, even in Britain they don't say Daemon or Lik anymore.

Lich I always pronounce with the 'ch' sound, but I pronounce Lichlord a la 'like-lord.'
This is dead inconsistent, but it's in my brain and I can't get it out.

Chocobos come from "Chocoball" ( http://www.ffworld.com/?page=article&id=1 it's in french, but you can see the picture... ) ... so... if some of you knows a bit of japanese, it's pronounced

ちょこぼ <- japanese caracters (I don't know if you'll be ablo to see those)
Cho - ko - bo
(Cho is more like "tsho" ... the sound of the T is important)

and for Lich .. buy warcraft 3.. it's pronounced like in witch ...
