View Full Version : A possibility on Titan . . .

With all the theories going around about Lich, the idea of Titan showing up and eating the gem seemed least likely . . . until I considered that Titan could easily be the Sulk. Big, strong characters. Raw physical power is sort of an elemental force, isn't it? And Titan is a force representing the earth and all. I can see a possible connection here. What does everyone else think?

I am pretty sure that the Titan would eat the Phylactory (Or whatever it is).

If The Sulk is the Titan, it'd be slick because it's hard to just introduce a character like the Titan and then have it walk off and never be bothered with again.

However, 8-Bit can stray from the game rules, and it's possible that Brian won't have any of that part at all.

Here's the other option I think of.

The Titan crunches up the Ruby in the game. What if Lich Hid the tiny phylactory in a ruby and fed it to the Titan? So it is safely hidden inside the creatures stomach. Then we have an awkward side quest.

Journey into the Titan's innards - Day 9

I feel that the mini spell is beginning to have an affect on the party's sanity, Fighter has begun to say "Swords like I" more and more often... and RM's plans are even stupider then usual. Thief is just... yeah. I feel it is taking an effect on me as well...

It's so quiet in the belly of this beast, I haven't seen another being (besides my idiotic cohorts) in days. We ran out of food days ago, and have managed to survive on the tapeworm we fought yesterday. It is sickening, but provides me with the strength to go on.

I'm going mad, and I fear that if we don't find the object soon, that the Titan will digest us into pulpy little man-cakes.

I do believe I guessed that nearly a week ago.

There would be more, but the topic was deleted under mysterious circumstances...
Truly, I am a genius.

Well, as in the case of the Sky Warriors, Matoya's broom, and any number of other sprites I've created, its no guarantee that he'll make it into the comic. However, I *DID* make a Titan sprite for Brian. (The old man is Sarda, the wise man that you find after the Titan moves out of the way.)

Why is Sarda a jerk?

Maybe he's the old man that took the money circa episode -1. Would that be jerkish?

That would be a hilariously awesome tie-in.

:fighter: That's the guy I bought the cave information from!
:bmage: What?! Hado...
:thief:*grabs him* No...we...need...him.

What if Sulk (if he is the Titan) becomes the fourth Dark Warrior?

Sarda isn't the only character skipped here. What about Cid and the TNT ? Was Cid one of the dwarves that was hilariously... ahem... mercilessly slaughtered by thief and black mage? How are they going to blow up a large part of a continent and cause massive droughts throughout the world by connecting two oceans which most likely have different sea levels? How are the light warriors going to get to Crescent without a boat or a death trap? How are they going to carry the canoe around? Who is my real father? Who shot JR? Who is JR? Where am I? Who are you? Go away.

Ahem. The head Dwarf's name was Nerrick, not Cid. There is in fact no Cid in this Final Fantasy. The commonplace Cid character thing doesn't start up until FF2j.

Of course, did the Dwarf King's name ever get mentioned?

Where do you get the word phylactory? Maybe its just such an odd word that my sub-conscious has blocked it out, and I can't read it whatsoever.

As for the Titan & the ruby tie-in, I'll try to explain...

In the actual Final Fantasy, once you defeat the Vampire, you get a ruby. You also run across a stone plate in the Vampire's room which you can't move. People in the nearby town suggest that a evil, far worse than the Vampire, resides deeper within the earth, and the Light Warriors should investigate it. They also suggest seeing a guy named Sarda.

Unfortuantly, to get to Sarda, you need to get past the Titan, but luckily for you, he likes rubies - TO EAT, and will let you visit Sarda to get the mystical crowbar, I mean rod which will help you move the stone plate.

That's the reason why I had Thief dangling from my Titan sprites hand, and generally not having a good time. I figured that Thief, having to give up the ruby to the Titan, would be a fun time for all. I mean, none of the others would likely see a cut of the profit, so why would they help?

Technically, Cid was one of the Lefein people, and at least possibly an engineer.

No he wasn't. Not technically or anything, there was *NO* Cid in Final Fantasy 1. Sure, Brian could always name a self-made character Cid, but it still doesn't make him technically part of the game.

Also, technically the Sky Warriors used to own the Airship that the Light Warriors are supposed to run around in, but their role got put on the cutting room floor. *Sob*...

Sorry, its still a sensitive issue with me.

A phylactery is the item into which a Lich places his or her soul, thus making the corporeal form pretty much immortal. The container is often a gem, crown, or other valuable object. Thus the Lich's soul/ruby phylactery/Titan theory.

Actually it doesn't make the Lich immortal.
However, even if you kill the Lich, he returns in 1d4 days back to full unlife, unless the phylactery is destroyed. It sort of Auto-revives the lich. So destroying it is a good idea. It'd be funny if they didn't though, Thiefs carrying the phylactery around because its shiny and worth alot. Suddenly the Lich appeasrs, " Unhand my gem!" Theif faints or runs lol.
