View Full Version : Warriors of the Elements: The Meeting
He approached the five sitting in front of him. The table was semi circular, with the middle cut out so one could stand in the middle of the group. "We need action, and we need it now! Do we have any suggestions?"
One stood up. The body appeared to be that of a rock like behemoth. "Those humans! We have been protecting them for so many years! It's about time they did some of the work themselves!"
The one sitting next to him tried to calm him down. "Petra. Down!"
"What would you know, Urina!? You haven't had them walking all over you for centuries!"
The water goddess raised herself from her chair and looked up at her mountain partner, "Yes... but that does not mean they have hurt me and my oceans too!"
"Please... please!" Another stood up. He was old, with hair that surroundded a bald head, and a length of beard that reached to the middle of his chest. "We are here to decide how to help them. Only together can we do that!"
"Nice speech Fulmen." A young lady's voice came up. "Now get off your soapbox and sit down." This young lady had fire red hair, all the way down the bottom of her back, but you couldn't tell. The way she was sitting, her feet propped up on the table.
"You would enjoy that... wouldn't you Ignis?" The old man roared, a thunder storm started to brew up behind him.
"Everyone sit!" A voice, louder than his boomed, and everyone followed his command. He approached the center of the table. In appearance, he seemed to be in the shape of a knight, clad in white armor, gold trimming with a cape to match. A helmet was covering his face. This was... The Guardian. "Petra, I think, has the right idea."
Fulmen stood up, "Sir. Don't get me wrong, but the humans don't have the strength that we have, and we have been getting attacked over and over. We have all lost numerous battles with this foe. What makes you think they can be of any use?"
"They have heart. And with that heart, if they truely love their planet, they will defend it."
"They have heart... but no power." A dark raspy voice said. Everyone looked over to one dressed in a hooded robe, hiding his face like that of the guardian. "For once the old man is right."
The guardian thought for a second. "Then we shall give them ours." The was a murmur of voices between the table. "Any objections?" Everyone looked at one another, but no one denied him. "Good, everyone choose one to guide."
Petra stood and slammed the table, "I have made my decision! He is a young high school student, Mark Coutu! He has a heart as big as this rock he is living on!"
Urina was the next to stand, "My mind is made up as well. Benjamin Opel will be my choice. He has a good head on his shoulders, I know he will want to help all he can."
Fulmen was the third to stand, "My choice has been selected. Ariella Haskins! Call her forth and my powers shall be hers!"
The hooded one looked up at the knight, "I, Ater, will give the power of darkness to Gerado Nguyen."
They all looked to the fire goddess. She saw all the glances and sighed, shrugging them all off, "My decision is a girl by the name of Alex Darnen."
The guardian took a step back. "They shall be summoned forth to receive the powers. Thank you all." He bowed at the five, turned around and walked away from them, vanishing.
Mark was in a rush to get to his next class. He was the kind of student to be on time for all of his classes, but today was different. He ran through crowds of people trying to get to the right classroom. He had to run upstairs to get the books out of his locker, then back down to get to class. He had just reached the doorknob as the bell rung. He swang it open an looked inside to see...
Blackness. After a few steps in, the door closed and disappeared behind him. "Uh... am I in the right room? Hello?"

<Man, that felt great!> Alex thought to herself, stepping out of her shower and grabbing the clothes she had hung up there. She threw on the underwear, and was in the process of pulling on the rest of her clothes when she walked out into the hallway, but when her shirt was pulled past her face, she only saw blackness. "What the hell?" she said.

Ariella stretched as her 7 page Chem lab report began printing. "Now, all I need to do is staple it and hand it in. Finally a good night's sleep." She opened her closet door to retrieve her coat and was pulled in.

Two fighters stood at opposite sides of the small square, dripping sweat both dressed only in large black pants and a black belt around their waist, both in the style of the martial artist. Another barked a word of command and the fighters leveled at eachother, carefully measuring the opponent..and then one strikes overhead, his blow is deflected, but he rounds about to the right, the other pulls his sword back behind his head to block, throws the others up, and spins into a crouch, slashing the opponents belly at the same time
Ippon!
barks the thrid person
The fighters stand and bow....and an old volvo pulls up outside the smallish Dojang and honks its baritone horn. Ah, suburban Virginia on a thursday night.
Ben slides the bamboo Shinai (sword) between his low hanging belt and his pants, sweat dripping from his nose and says
That'll be the food, mike. Money's on a chair in the lobby, I'll get some water in the back
The other black belt responds
'aight
Ben walks past the locker rooms in the back of the school, and opens a refrigerator, which, strangeley enough, was composed entirelyof blackness, and pulled him right in.

(OOC) Don't worry.
"Ok, where the hell are we?" Alex said, looking around and seeing that there are other people nearby.
Mark had heard someone's voice. He looked around and saw that a small group had gathered in some area of the space. If that's what you wanted to call it. He rushed over to the group and pushed his glasses back up his nose, "Uh... I wish I could answer that question, how'd you all get here? Who are all of you?"
"There will be time for that later..." A loud, booming voice came from nowhere, killing everyone's ears. Mark, covering his ears, looked around for where the sound was coming from. His question was soon answered as a light came towards them. It grew in size as it got closer to the group. "You shall all get to meet each other, but now is not the time. I have important information to give all of you. There is a great war going on. You may not see it, but you do see its after affects. Landslides, erosion, tides changing, global warming, the list goes on. Your scientists have proven that this was due to changes in planitary ways. But this is not the truth. We have been at war with an unknown force, and we have decided to enlist your help..."
Mark gave the light a strange look, "First off... who is we?"
"The elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, and Darkness..." Was it's answer.
"And you are...?"
"You may call me... The Guardian."
"All right... Guardian. I got a good one for ya." Mark wasn't one for sarcasm, but for some reason, it just came free flowing. "The elements have been having trouble with an unknown force, that they have been losing to... so they decide to enlist the help of five humans, who for some reason, don't even know each other, to defeat the force even Gods can't defeat.
There was a long pause for it answered with, "Yes."
Mark tossed his hands up, "Ah! It makes so much sense now! I see why you are doin' this!"
"I do not need sarcasm from you."
"No... No sarcasm here mister light..."
"Believe what you will, but you have all been chosen to help defend the world from certain devistation."
"Great! Sounds like a blast and a half. How do you expect us to defeat it?" Mark continued with his antics.
"Simple, you will be blessed with the power of the Elements themselves. Your powers will start off weak, but soon your powers will grow, and no one will be able to stop you."
He first looked at Mark, "You will have the raw strength of the earth, with Petra's help.
He moved on to Ben, "You will be blessed with the power of Urina, and her seas."
Next was Gerado, "You have the dark to control, given by Ater himself."
To Ariella, "All the lightning will be in your hands, thanks to Fulmen."
Last was Alex, "And to you, you get the power fire, once controled by Ignis."
Five orbs fell from nowhere after his speech. In front of Mark was a sandy brown orb. He reached out slowly to touch it, then wrapped his hand aroound it, in both wonder and amazement. "Wow... so beauti...AH!" As the full weight of it soon caused his hand to drops to his feet. He could feel his hand being cruched under it. Something so small couldn't be so heavy. "Great! My God is a rock... huh?" He could feel the weight roll up his arm, up into his chest. It wrapped around his heart, until the weight was soon gone.
Heh... nice job holding up the weight of the earth kid... A gruff voice came from his mind.

"This has got to be a dream," Ariella thought as she stared at the yellow orb in front of her. It is not a dream, you have been chosen to recieve a reat gift, now accept it. With some hesitation, she reached out and grabbed the orb. She immediately felt a small jolt, and then a larger one. It left arm went numb, but soon it started to tingle and the jolts went away. You now have control over all the wrold's lightening, use it to it utmost extent. "Great, I get the fancy talking element."

"Okay Mister Guardian let me ask you this question real quick. How is darkness an element?" *The Guardian just looks at me. "How is it not an element?" *takes a breath and tries to think of an answer* "Good point. I don't understand it but still good point." *just then he hears a raspy voice that sends a shiver down my spine speaks into my mind* "Just take the damn orb already and don't make me regret chosing you to give my powers to." *My eyes then are drawn to the obsidian orb that floats in front of me. I reach out slowly to it and grab it in my right hand. As my fingers curl around the orb a dark shadow engulfs my body and consumes me before being abosrbed into me. I could feel the darkness as if it was a solid object moving around inside me until it surrounded my heart and then suddenly it was gone* "HOLY MOTHER OF MERCY!!! That hurt! And I feel kind of violated." "Shut your whining."

ooc: I return!
Ben stood in the dark room, half naked, sweaty, no shoes, with girls he had never met before
I like these odds
but his thoughts were interrrupted by a smooth, yet forceful feminine voice
Take the orb before you, there are greater things at stake right now
Right-o
he whispered, placing his cupped hands on either side of the glowing, deep blue sphere, and closing them into it. The sphere glowed brighter for a second, and then siphoned off into his hands and arms, it rushed into his every pore and he felt like he was being drowned from the inside, but the feeling passed deeper inside of him, clutching tightly around his heart and dissipating, but leaving a lasting tingle, as he seemed acutely aware of every water molecule in his body.
Good, now listen to the words of the guardian

OOC: MEEP! I'm so sorry! I've been so busy the past week, but I'm back now! Yay! ... yay? Anyone?
Mark watched as the other recieved their gifts. "All right... Let's hear some more."
The light was quiet for a moment, then it spoke, "Yes... We, the Elements, have been here ever since this planet you all call earth has been formed. We have defended it from many foes, and other such threats, however this one is posing more a problem then we've ever seen before." It looked towards Alex. "Actually, there are several reasons why we have picked humans to help. One, is as easy as a test. We want to make sure that we are protecting this planet for the right reasons, which would be for your sake. As you know, the earth changes, it was because of our doing, for the better or the worse. We also needed to try another attack plan. We think this foe has known our actions, and has even studied our patterns. This foe has done its research." He paused, then continued on, "As for what it is. We are not sure."
It soon took position in front of the five again, "Enough talk about that however, let us get back down to the matter at hand. You have each gotten an element, one that we think will be the best suited for you. Your powers will be weak now, but within time, you will be as strong as you need to be. You will also need to combine your efforts, and powers, to destroy this troublesome enemy."
"With our bare fists?" Mark's voice piped up again.
"No... you have each also been given a weapon, fordged to be the perfect one for you."
Several lights shined down, getting brighter until the source was right in front of their eyes. Mark's light dissolved until a hammer was floating in front of him. "Uh-huh..." He reached out and grabbed the hammer, the full weight finally getting to him. The hammer weight almost as much as the orb did before. "You're kidding right? I don't care if I'm the biggest here... why do I get all the heavy stuff!?"
"I'm starting to regret my choice. I thought I had been wise in my decision, but I might have been wrong." Mark grumbled at the line. "Consider this your first power-up."
And soon, the hammer became a feather in his hand. Dropping on his shoulder he looked around, then up at the light. "I... still don't understand..."

The light in front of Ben dissolved into two blades, sheathed in obsidian from from the great undersea volcanoes. He took them, noting the odd recurve in both (The best way I can describe a recurve is that it looks something like Arwen's sword from LOTR.). They were a matched pair, similar to the Katana/Wakizashi combination he had trained with, but with different shapes. He tied them on, one to his belt, the other across his back, and unsheathed them. The blades shimmered with an azure glow, and seemed to cleanly cut and fall through the air, without resistance at all. The woman's voice came back into his mind. You seem pleased. My choice was wise, I see. These blades will cut and flay with the flowing grace and lethality of my seas, use them well.

He shielded his eyes from the light as it seemed brighter to him then it should have been. "Argh blasted lights." When he opened his eyes again floating in front of him was a set of katars, which are in essence punching daggers except they are worn. This set was imbedded into black gauntlets. He reached forward and grabbed them and slipped them on. "Well these are rather interesting." I thought you would like them. I thought you would like the fact that the blade retracts and extends at will. "OH YEAH!!" He then started to do some moves with them and nearly cut himself in half. "Hehe oops. Guess I need more practice" What an idiot!! This is going to take a lot of patience

In front of Alex, flames started to dance around in front of her, and started to come togeather. After all had joined up, they disappeared, leaving behind a whip that ended with a reddish-tinged blade at the end.
Mark watched as everyone had accepted their weapons. That's when he took one more glace towards the light, "All right... Why?"
"I have already given you my answer. As much as we want to see this world continue, we want to make sure it is worth continueing. That decision is up to you. Find this force, and stop it. Remember, you have the elements to help you. I will not return you to your time. You will find that nothing has changed since you have come here. Farewell warriors, and good luck." As the light began to fade away.
"WAIT! How does that answer my..." He took a step foward, blinking.
After opening his eyes, he found that there was now light, even a doorknob in his outstretch hand. He looked up and found that he was now inside his english room, the destination he had been trying to reach. "Good morning there Mark, How are we?" A male voice came from behind him.
I thought time stood still... He turned and looked at his teacher with a big grin on his face. "I'm doing fine Mr. Redman. You?"
"Well, I'm doing all right." He looked a little about Mark's shoulder, "I didn't know we still had Show and Tell here..." The class let out a small laugh. He was usually a funny teacher like that, always with a witty one liner.
"Uh... I must be in the wrong grade... Heh heh." After looking at the hammer on his shoulder, forcing out a smile. "Sorry... I haven't been sleeping well."
"That doesn't answer why you have a hammer on your shoulder. You know the rules..."
Mark dropped his head, "I know... no weapons in school. Can I go to my locker?"
"I don't think it will fit. How did you get it here?"
Mark paused, then walked to his seat, "Magic... I guess." And proceded to take out everything needed for the class.

Alex woke up, and found that she was on the floor of the bathroom. Looking at the closed door she thought to herself <Must have ran into it. But that...doesn't...> Her thoughts trailed off when she felt something warm in her hand. She looked down and saw the whip underneath her hand. "Ok, that's just freaky." She said.
It's been several months since the strange dreams had come to our new found heros. They were left to believe what they wanted to believe. Mark questions himself after a while, thinking that maybe he should get some more brain help then he was already getting, but soon decided against it. We now rejoin our heros...
Mark took a deep breath after a good nights sleep. He reached up over himself and hit the snooze-button on his alarm, allowing him 10 more minutes. Just the way he liked it. He rolled over to his opposite side, facing away from the clock, took another deep breath, and relaxed to try and catch more Z's.
Get up!
Mark opened his eyes slowly. "Huh?" He shook his head and looked around. "I thought Mom usually called me instead of yelling up at me... I must be really late." He rolled over and checked the time, finding out he still had 20 minutes before he even thought of getting out of bed. "No... still early. I'm hearing voices again..." He shrugged, fell on his side, and relaxed his eyes again.
I told you to get up!
Mark made a lazy grunt as he opened his eyes again. "What the hell? Go away! I got 20 more minutes. Shoo!"
Get up! It is time... The deep voice finally became recongnizable. It was him... Petra...
"No... I got 20 minutes."
You will not if you do not get out of bed now!
Mark made a light whimper, "Trust me... the world will give me another 20 minutes."
Yes, the world will, but the force does not!
He finally forced his eyes open and sat up. "Fine... what do you want?" He scratched his back, tossed the covers aside and started walking along the floor towards the bathroom.
It has started to attack us once again. This time one of our allies, Wind, is losing a battle in the... Middle East, is it?
"If you're talking about that really hot place over on the other side of the earth, then yes. The middle east."
You have to excuse me. I am not caught up on your names. I have only sat in on a few of your history meetings.
"Meetings? Oh... you mean class. Do you understand anything he says by the way?"
No time now! We have to move!
"Mark spit up what toothpaste was left in his mouth. "Hey! Great idea! Let's just get a plane ticket, and head over there right now!" He dropped his toothbrush back in it's holder and walked back to his room, grabbing his pants to throw on.
Why do we need to catch a plane?
"Oh! Better idea! Let's just walk there!" He moved to the closet and pulled off a long sleeved brown shirt. One of his favorites. It was going to be another cold day, he would need it.
No... The door to the closet closed itself. We have no time for walking either.
"Let me guess... I'm just going to warp there, somehow?" He pushed the door open as the sun and heat him all at once. "Ah... I hate heat... wait, heat?" He opened his eyes and looked around. "Uh... I was kidding you know."
I wasn't. Oh yes... you forgot this. The hammer dropped beside Mark, sinking into the sand.
Mark grabbed onto it, the metal handle still cold from the temperature back in New England. "Thanks... Now what?"
We wait... for the others to follow suit. The other Elements should have recieved their orders by now...

At least you're awake, this makes my job a lot easier Ariella jumped and made a small sound, but shut herself up when she saw her roommate turn over and stir. Is that you Fulmen? No, it's the Pope. Of course it's me! You have to leave now, the world needs you Does this mean I get to miss class? Please don't try my patience today Ariella rolled her eyes while putting on a tank top. The clock, aside from the fact that it looked like it had already gone threw this routine before, now appeared to have slightly melted handprints on it. Alex began to toss and turn until she finally sat upright in bed, beads of sweat pouring off of her face. "What the hell happoned to the AC?" She said. "Well, it was the only way to get you up. Ben's alarm clock went off at the usual 5:15. The beep didn't have time to ring in his ears, as he slapped the devilish contraption before it could sound twice.
Up now He thought. Up, you lazy sack of ass!
mmm...my inner monologue is getting vicious he muttered as he stood up gingerly and stubled over to the dresser, opening the drawer not to find his socks, but the two blades he had been given in a dream, months before, laid beside some old cargo shorts, a ratty beater, and a navy blue bandana. Now my mom is getting crazy
No, not your mother.
The voice returned to him
Put it all on. Light shoes, and walk out your front door, your abilities are needed now.
Fast forward 2 minutes...
He opened the front door and got a blast of hot air, with stinging bits of sand interspersed, and stepped through. He found himself in the middle of the desert, with the same people he had met that same dream.
Don't think we've met...I'm Ben.
Mark looked around, then towards Ben, the first one to talk. "Ah yes... You were from the dream..." He looked towads the others, "You all were. Oh god..." He rubbed his forehead, "I'm dreaming again." He raised his head up, "Let me guess... Force is out now, and you have all been summoned to fight it, using mystic powers and weapons?" That's when the hammer tilted and dropped on his foot, "AH!!" He pulled his foot from under it, leaping up and down on the good one. After a moment of hopping, He glanced at the team, "Guess this isn't a dream."
One step foward, he looked toward either side of him and found desert in all directions. "Great. We're stuck in the middle of a swealtering place." He took one more look at the group, "and I take it you guys prepared for it?" Stupid Petra "Anyway, Let's get a move on. Maybe there's town somewhere up ahead. By the way, you guys can call me Mark." Something caught his eye, something far off in the distance. He had to squint his eyes to see what it was, but saw something that looked like buildings. There was a town not far up ahead. "Hey... what luck! There's a town not far from here..." He adjusted his collar, "Maybe we can get some water and find out where we are." He turned to Ben, "Ben... right? You're the one with the language? Good, It'll come in handy. Very handy." As the town grew closer, the people soon got a view of the soldiers themselves.
Most of them gave the newcomers strange, or dirty looks. Especially the woman of the village. It was hard to tell under their covered heads, but they looked like they were looking at them. Mark stopped by a vendor, "Hello..." The vendor said something in a strange language. "Right... Where are we?" Vendor held up something that looked like a fruit and just started off talking. Mark shook his head, "Perfect... I have no idea what he's saying." He looked up and down the streets, "Isn't there anyonne here that speaks English?" His sight turned towards Ben, "All right... see what information you can get from him..."

He gave the men passing by a dark look. "Ladies, be on guard. You are second class citizens here and don't do anything to rash. We don't need more trouble then we have to have." He moved closer toward the females in the group his back to them as he looked around,

Right then.
He walks up to the street vendor, and says something in Arabic
(anything in another language I'll put in italics)
Good day.
What is it you wish here, who are you?
replied the man, obviously put off by his strange looks and accent.
I am from the west, my name is Ben'jamin. My friends and I are in need of food, and a map.
Tell your women to cover themselves, they disgrace themselves. I can provide you with food and a shelter, you have money?
I can compensate you for your services, but they are not my women...sadly. They will do as they please, for this I will pay extra.
The man smiles slightly at the comment, and opens the door to his adobe house on the edge of the town and says.
The less they are seen, the better.
Ben turns to the group
In here, let's go!

he said as he ushered them in.
We're out of here as soon as we eat.
"I don't think we have much choice... Let's keep an eye on him, and if he tries anything..." He didn't want to finish the sentence. They already knew the ending anyway. Before anyone walked in, he moved towards Ben, "Uh... Ben... what did you two actually talk about? What will we owe this man?"

Ben looked up,
Well, first I said I'd give him one concubine, but then I said we wanted some food, too, so I promised him one more concubine. He seemed quite pleased.
He Held up two "thumbs up" and smiled stupidly.
But then again, in reality, I'm going to give him this watch, and the MP3 player that was in my pocket for some reason. Hope he likes Rammstein.

03-08-2004, 10:28 AM
"Well you got more than I did, I didn't even know we had allies. You know, considering that we're supposed to have all of this elemental power, it would seem likely that we could contact our respective elements and ask them, but that may be giving us too much credit. Ever since I've gotten my powers, the most I've been able to do is make a small spark come out of my hand and almost fry my computer."

OOC: Don't think I forgot about this...
Mark nodded at the others conversation. "Me too... But I thought they were just wierd dreams, that's all. He would just sit there and talk about the good ol' days when there was peace and everyone lived in harmony, well, the elements anyway. They were always upset about us and our constant fueding. However you girls are lucky... you get to control your elements while all I get it some extra strength. Sure, I can lift this hammer, but that's about it, I can't move rocks or anything like that."
"As for our mission, Petra filled me in on the details. The wind... guy... is losing a battle here, so we've been sent in to find out just what the heck is going on. I don't know why they just don't use that big Gaurdian guy... he looks like he could take on anything himself." He shrugged, "Whatever. All I know is that I have a ton of things to do. I didn't get a chance to start any of my homework." He sighed and walked over to Ben, "Well... anything? I don't want to think that we may have fallen into a trap..."
But he may have spoken too soon. As soon as everyone had filed into the building, the door was closed shut behind them, and the arming of guns could be heard. "I hate it when I'm right!"
"You should..." Said the vendor, in perfect english.
"What the...!? You speak...!?"
"Very good english as a matter of fact." He finished Mark's sentence. "And yes, as you may have just found out, you have been ambushed. We do not take kindly to Americans here."
Mark looked around and saw several men standing around, AKs in hand. Five took a step foward and removed the kids of their weapons. One of them reached for Mark's hammer. He smirked, "Careful... it's very heavy..." He just gave him a dorty look, grabbed onto the handle, and tossed it on his shoulder, "Or not..." He shrugged.

as he places his hands behind his head, closing his eyes as if in exasperation and breathing deeply.

Alex took the oppurnitity to grab the gun of one of the guys holding their weapons, and when she got a hold of the barrol, and started to pour heat into it, melting the barrol of the gun slightly before she was thrown aside.
"This is not cool!" Mark shouted out, before charging one of the gaurds and laying a hard right hook to his head. It snapped sideways, stood dazed for a moment, then fell down to the ground. It was a nice sight to see, but also an amazing one. Mark never threw a punch before, but as he inspected the damage, it looked like the guy was it with a sledge. "Wow... guess I don't know my own strength." He stooped down to grab his hammer, and hit another guard upside the head. "All right! We're movin'! C'mon!!" And he started running for the door.

Ben said, strapping on his swords and taking the blinded man by the collar.
So
He said, putting the barrel of the AK under the man's chin
Who do you work for? That's one heavy-ass hammer you grabbed a little too easily.
Mark dropped his head, "We have to go... now!"
"No chance..." The vendor said, "You have already fallen under the trap."
Mark walked up to the vendor, all the gaurds now crying non-stop, or knocked out. "What do you mean?"
"Heh... this battle has already been won. There is nothing that you can do."
"I can break your jaw is what I can do."
"How will that help your elemantal friend?" He smirked. "Oh... and by the way..." He threw a hook at Ben, connecting, "I can break jaws too." He laughed and started running out the door.
However, Mark got in his way and grabbed him by the collar, "You think you can run that easily?"
"You don't seem to get it... do you!?" Throwing his fist into Mark's stomach. But he didn't flinch, "What? How did you? I have the power of earth... He gave it..."
"He gave it to me..." As Mark threw his own hook into the vendor's body, "All right... now talk!"
The vendor was now crumpled on the ground, gasping and coughing for air. "Never... I shall never talk!" Mark kicked him in the ribs, the sound of a cracking bone came out.
Note to self... don't hit hard. "Oh no... you will! Who gave you you're powers?"
"All right... just don't hit me again..." he lifted his arm weakly, signaling him to stop. "It was..." But he stopped talking. his eyes widened and he grabbed his throat, and started gagging on something. Mark took a step back as ne noticed the vendor coughing up little pebbles.
"Are you choking... on a rock?" The vendor look up with weak eyes, then fell limp on the ground. Mark knelt down and felt his throat, noticing there was a large lump in it. "Yeah... he did." Mark got a worried look on his face." If this happened to him... Will it...?"
"If I decide to..." A deep bellowing voice came from nowhere.

Ariella was holding her kammas, "maybe we should keep these out and forgo the use of tact? We are going to fight some sort of big bad elemental. Not frightening the locals isn't very high on my list."
Mark was the first outside, looking around for some kind of owner of the voice. "Where are you?"
"I'm not around... and yet I'm everywhere."
"Stop with the riddles! Show yourself!"
"I will not..."
Mark sighed. "Damn you!! Don't make me..." but his voice was cut off as something formed in his thoat. He gripped it, but to no avail.
"I will do it... Do not force me."
Mark fought for air, but the rock inside would not allow any air to pass through. The rock grew larger in his neck, it felt like it would soon burst. He was just to let out a scream when the rock soon disappeared. Mark gasped for breath.
I have saved you this time... but I will not always be there for you. You have to learn to control it.
[i]Petra... you're kidding right?"
The voice boomed again, "I see you have Petra on your side. Interesting. They choose to bring humans into this war? How backed into a corner are they?"
Mark forced his head up to see someone... something... floating in the air. It looked to be a man, but his face was distorted, one side of it anyway. He wore black, all black. Shirt, pants, boots, and a cape that covered him. He looked like some kind of vampire. He laughed and disappeared from sight. "The war is not yet over..."

OOC: Hey... I've been gone for a couple days, and nothing happens?
Mark took a few deep breaths, then looked up towards the group. "I have no idea, but he has the ability to control earth, just like Petra. Whatever this thing is... it's not good. It must have the elements at its disposal." He took another deep breath, one to get some more oxygen in his lungs, one because of the near death expirence he just had. "C'mon. We have to figure out where it went, and how it's beating up... Wind."
