Yeah so I guess Im gonna try my hand at this. Mind you, it's been years since I've started/run an RP myself so bear with me. Firstly, this is more of an experiment thing; Im writing a series of books, that started with an RP on a different board many years ago. I wanna see how the same idea would go on a different board with more mature RPers. Anywho, here it is;
__________________________________________________ ______________
Archanas. Land of the Free, the most powerful and wealthy nation on the continent of Talea. A country ridden with strife and corrupt leaders, everything was set right when one Saigo Kusunoki stepped to the throne. For nineteen years he ruled justly; the people were wealthy and happy, food and clothing was abundant, and for all intents and purposes, the country was an example of the perfect country. That time was cut short.

Prime Minister Morian Baneblade, part of Emperor Kusunoki's High Council for nine years, was sent with one million soldiers, along with the entire Royal Navy, over the western sea, to seek new lands. When he reached new land, he happened upon a tribe of feral humans calling themselves the Gorobar. In a gesture of peace and friendship, they gave Morian a flesh covered tome, the contents of which explained the coming of the Demon God Malak'har. Slowly, the tome began to turn Morian insane. He began to hear whispers of Malak'har, slowly at first, then he began to have conversations with the God. Malak'har had possessed him.

Using his newfound power, Morian turned the minds of the million soldiers, the Legio Dominatus, and corrupt in purpose, they returned to Archanas, murder in their thoughts, as well as three million Gorobar backing them.

The destruction rent was intense; brother fought brother, father fought son, and there was sorrow in Archanas once again. Even Emperor Kusunoki himself, though one of the most powerful beings in existence, fell to Morian's sword, thus damning the world.

For five hundred years, the peoples around the world suffered under Morian's harsh rule. Those who resisted, died. Those who gave in still suffered as horrible monstrosities, warped and twisted by the mutating powers of Malak'har. There are few places that now stand against his ultimate power.

There is a prophecy, however, that soon, God will fight God, and peace will be restored.

Alright this RP is set in an obvious fantasy world. The technology is about as far as having gunpowder rifles and cannons. Thats about it, everything else is sword and shield type stuff.

Now, on to specifics. Here's a list of races and their starting locations.

Humans(Archanans): Hardy humans of Archanas, those who have not fallen to heresy or died. Typical humans, if not post-Apocalyptic mindset types.
Starting Location: The Academy, Bastion of Dawn's Light

North Elves: North elves are sadistic, sadomasochistic, and are surprisingly, against Morian. They are so because their King, Kalaador Aferaanor, was friends with Saigo Kusunoki. Typical elves in the sense that they live forever until killed, heightened speed and such, frail. They are more close combat oriented than the other elves, their cavalry being unmatched in the world.
Starting location: Naorond.

East Elves: More peaceful elves of the East. They are highly in tune with magic and prefer to work on pieces of art or music instead of making war, but in times as desperate as this, they are not without their fighting capabilities.
Starting Location: Ultherathor, The Academy.

Sylvan Elves: Elves who live in the living forest in Archanas, the Divine Glade. Typical wood elves in all senses, leaning more towards the Asrai of Warhammer.
Starting Location: The Divine Glade.

Dwarves: Hardy peoples who once lived in the mountains of Archanas, but were almost completely wiped out when Morian turned. Typical dwarves.
Starting Location: The Bastion of Dawn's Light

Humans (Dhala'kar): Barbaric peoples of the southern rainforests, friendly with the Archanans. Have adapted to two climates, the harsh humid rainforest, and the cool darkness of a complicated underground tunnel system that stretches all throughout the continent.
Starting Location: Dhala'kar

Demons: Beings summoned from the Nether to serve Morian. They are his most expendable resource, as there are at least one thousand demons in the Nether to every one being in Talea. They require a complicated ritual to be summoned.
Starting Location: Daranaughl.

Humans (Heretics): Those living in Archanas that chose to submit to Morian instead of die. Their bodies are usually horribly mutated from being so close to so many demons, as well as their own demonic worship. This also includes the Gorobar, those who introduced Morian to Malak'har.
Starting Location: Daranaughl

Vampire: A completely neutral race. Not so typical vampires; as crucifix's dont exist in this world, they are instead repelled by any holy symbol that would ward against evil. They can be out in the sun, but holy water and a wooden stake will still kill them as normal. Not undead as typical of Vampires, but living beings. Cannot transform into a bat or anything, but older ones may grow wings. They can be aligned with either Morian or any other. Not necessarily evil.
Starting Location: Anywhere.

Heretic (General): Any race could have traitors who began following Morian, so if you want, you can have a character of any race starting in Daranaughl under Morian's rule. The above were just a majority count type thing.
__________________________________________________ ________
Alright, now a little more describing of the starting locations themselves.

The Academy: When Emperor Saigo was just a teenager and homeless, he was allowed to attend the world famous Archanas Academy of Magic and Warfare. It is here he learned everything he knew. There was no strict racial or monetary policy; room and board was free for those who had the drive to learn. People from every race flocked to the school to become learned in two of the most valuable professions, magic and warfare. Nowadays, the school is home to civilians who survived the Sundering at Daranaughl. Before he died, Emperor Saigo placed a magical, protective seal around the school, that would only fade if he was to return to the mortal realm. It keeps the students and residents safe...for now.
Important Residents:
Sunev Kusunoki - Saigo's wife, the Empress.
Elvilad Elrundel - Saigo's High Council Master Strategist, now Headmaster of the Academy.

The Bastion of Dawn's Light: When Morian turned traitorous, Saigo was actually in Dhala'kar making peace with it's people. He raced back to the capital when he felt something was wrong, leaving his army behind. Led by his good friend and former teacher Geliath Jerramas, the army marched back Archanas to find it in ruin. Assuming they were the only living Archanans, they made their way to the northwest, to the newly completed Bastion of Dawns Light, a massive fortress set in a gigantic mountain. For five hundred years, the soldiers and their descendants have fought off demonic assault.
Important Residents:
Abzadrael Stormshatter - A descendant of Jerramas, he is the Grand Marshal of the defense at the Bastion.
Enav Dunedhal - Dwarven swordsmith, master Engineer.

Naorond: Land of the North Elves. The climate is cold and dry, with little trees and many mountains. Despite this, the Naoronians are known for their expert cavalry, who defy physics and gravity by weaving their horses up and through mountains. The King, Kalaador, is benevolent but merciless. His people love him, but his enemies fear him, as they should.
Important Residents:
Kalaador Aferaanor - King of Naorond.
Bracchus - Kalaador's aged Dragon mount.
Maleus Pegasi - Horselord and the King's right hand man.

Ultherathor: Beautiful land of the East Elves, covered in rivers, forests, and grasslands, always green. It is bordered by mountains and a large ring of fire, both conjured by High Mage Corynnaar to keep Morian's forces out.
Important Residents:
High Mage Corynnaar - Leader of Ultherathor. Powerful mage

The Divine Glade: Entrancing forest in the middle of Archanas. The trees themselves are alive and motile, and thus, have been able to keep Morian's forces from destroying the forest. Home of the Sylvans, whom are led by the noble Neldor Starwind. Their King, Dorinaar, has been missing for over eight hundred years and is presumed dead, though Neldor believes he is still alive.
Important Residents:
Neldor Starwind - Current leader of the Sylvan elves.
Ay'Tiesh - A gigantic treant, the oldest living being still alive.

Dhala'Kar: Thick, humid rainforest of the south. Filled with poisonous fruits, plants, and insects, it is a veritable no man's land, and it is where the Dhala'kari make their home. There are a few caves which lead to a massive underground tunnel system, that stretches around the entire continent. None but the Dhala'kari, and Saigo knew about this tunnel system.
Important residents:
Arturo'kar - King of Dhala'kar.

Daranaughl: Once a massive, beautiful city unmatched by any in the world, it was destroyed in the death wakes of Saigo Kusunoki and was rebuilt in a twisted mockery of it's former glory. The walls seethe and writhe as if alive, and the acrid taste of disease hangs in the air. It is here where Morian and his army makes it's home.

Alright, finally, here's what I need from each person, your character sheet.

Name:
Age:
Race:
Gender:
Height:
Weight:
Description:
Weapons and Equipment:
Starting Location:
History:

Now feel free to be creative; it may seem like what I wrote was very specific, but its all a majority type thing. If you can come up with a good explaination for, lets say a North Elf is in the Bastion of Dawn's Light, knock yourself out, Im pretty lenient with things. I want people to have fun with this, most of all.

And finally, a BS version of a map I drew in paint. Yes it's awesome, no Im not signing autographs =P

Alright ladies, gents, and others, have fun with this.

This looks very interesting, I'm going to use a character concept I've been thinking of for a while, I just need some time to flesh it out.

SaigoKusunoki
06-01-2007, 03:44 PM
Knock yourself out. Anyone is welcome.

Also, for simplicity's sake, I did give the option of starting in all random places, but that would make it ridiculously difficult to follow, so try and keep characters in two to three general starting areas, if you could. Not required, you could always relocate very easily, but simpler nonetheless.

Um... I'm gonna bring in a previous character into this okay?

Name: Iarann MacClochanna (yes this is extensive use of Irish, thanks for asking!)

Age: 550 (This will probably change but I couldn't resist.)

Race: Dwarf

Gender: Male

Height: 4'4"

Weight: 10 stone (or some such thing)

Description: Old with a grey beard which goes down to his stomach, green eyes and stocky. Wears a scale mail tunic with leather pants, booths and gloves. He also has a steel helmet which hides a bald scalp.

He is cranky, stubborn, easily angered and more then a bit paranoid. He is not someone you approach asking "hows the weather". Anyone who gets to know learns one thing: the only thing he likes more than complaining is fighting and possibly annoying people (for instance should everyone follow one team he will follow the other for the sole purpose of annoying them). He is past his prime but that really doesn't effect his defensive, strength over speed type of fighting

Weapons and Equipment: Marvbus, his great double-axe has been in his family for generations. He also possesses standard military supplies.

Starting Location: The Bastion of Dawns Light.

History: Born before Morians invasion he joined the military as soon as legally possible. He was eager to carry on his families legacy as warriors for the nation and serve which ever leader led it. He was glad to see the land removed from corruption by Saigo and happily served for the 19 years of his reign. When the army returned home from their journey to Dhala'Kar he was inraged to find the Dwarven people destroyed or inslaved. Records say that "when Iarann promised that he would not die until Morians corpse was cast off his throne, he spoke with such conviction that even the powers of fate and destiny crumpled before it." He has waited for 500 years for the chance to bring retribution to Morians armies. Now it seems he has his chance...

What do you think?

I like it. Ill tell you, the last RP I had of this, about two years ago...not a single dwarf. Made me sad, I have a soft spot for the stubborn bastards =P Approved. Now lets just hope more people show some interest.

Astral Harmony
06-04-2007, 09:26 AM
Name: Shalvanis Jotunaar
Age: 162
Race: North Elf
Gender: Female
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 118
Description: Slim and beautiful, it's difficult to determine if she's a real being or a porcelain figureine. Her hair is raven dark and falls all the way to her ankles and her skin is so pale that it's possible she's never even seen the sun, let alone basked in its glow. Her eyes are a grayish green. She wears a long black overcoat with a hood of a Naoronian cut that resembles a cultist robe more than something a legitimate mage would wear. Hidden beneath the overcoat is a disturbing combination of black steel armor plating, tanned leather straps with studs, steel bindings, and fur lining that would easily shatter any impression of Shalvanis being an innocent girl.
Weapons and Equipment: agaru kuune (Crimson Crescent) - A two-handed scythe with a detachable blade that can be used as a boomerang, flung from and caught with the pole. She rarely uses its long range potential because, what's the fun in spilling gallons of blood if you're not spilling it up close and personal?
Starting Location: The Bastion of Dawn's Light
History: There's not much of a background to Shalvanis. She's one of the North Elves who grew up with a love of battle and the fountains of blood that spewed forth from the bodies of her opponents. As her skills grew, she sought out the roughest and toughest creatures in all of Naorond, eventually going a step much too far and singlehandedly challenging the might of a Zombie Dragon that was discovered in the region. After her defeat and near death experience, Shalvanis set a goal to one day defeat the most powerful monsters by herself and ventured south to the Bastion of Dawn's Light, recalling the war against Morian. Shalvanis cares little about the plight of others, but the concept of fighting Morian's powerful forces interested her enough to put her journey on hold. It could be a lot of fun, and Shalvanis's own pursuits didn't have any direction until just now, anyways.

Name: Auvrea Eilkash ((A war-name, sacrificed her earlier name, will not speak it.))
Age: 136
Race: Elf, Eastern
Gender: Female
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 129
Description: Lithe, just fit enough not to be considered physically frail. Sports long, mid-torso copper-reddish hair agaisnt a stunningly pale skin tone, it becomes clear that, at least in recent years, she has spent a curiously small amount of time outdoors for one of her species. Her eye color is indeterminate behind the now luminescent blue of her irises, a result of the considerable time she has spent attuning herself to the magic of the world. Wears a striking blue robe adorned with an equally bright gold trim, the rear of which is emblazoned with the rainbow seal of the five-pointed star of the elemental heirarchy. A single diamond rests across her forehead, held there by a golden tiara, with the purpose of enhancing focus.

Weapons and Equipment: Pentagonal cross-section rune battlestaff, bladed across the last eighth of each end. Each of the five flats is adorned with a line of gems corrosponding with one of the elements, and thus the five are one, and the one is five. ((The blade corrosponds with the fire end, signifying the flame of life's desire to bring death to continue to burn.))

Misc: Spellbook, Elementalist Adept's Robe (Resists elements), Dragon Tear Tiara (Focus).

Starting Location: The Academy

History: A black sheep of the Il'vanna family, at least later in her life. Shunned by her parents as searching for the direct path through strife (war), and condemned as being corrupted by human thoughts. Personally, Auvrea believes that the only way to stop Morian is through a united counter-offensive by all of the sentient races. Unfortunately, unity in chaos is never an easy concept. Resolving to sacrifice her own innocence so that others might maintain theirs, Auvrea sacrificed her given name and has devoted the remainder of her life as a battlemage, turning from a peaceful elementalist into one of a combatant sorceress, a change so complete she understand there is no turning back. Studying without end within the academy, she is driven by a self-propelling need to stop the enemy at any cost. Auvrea knows she will not survive this war, but if this is a literal or figurative premonition remains to be seen.

Dang Im really liking these entries so far. This RP board is so much better than the last one I RP'd on. Approved fo shizzle.

Looking for at least two or three more and then we can get this rolling, although I'll accept more of course.

Red Mage Black
06-04-2007, 02:06 PM
Name: Black Derias
Age: 625
Race: Vampire
Gender: Male
Height: 6'
Weight: 189 lb
Description: Pale white skin, shoulder length brown hair and red eyes. His clothing is a long black coat, blue shirt underneath, accompanied by a pair of black pants and brown boots.
Weapons and Equipment: His sword Latis, a weird being capable of shifting into whatever weapon Black desires. Of the water element.
Starting Location: Daranaughl (outside of it)
History: Throughout the course of the war, Black has been determined to only feed for the sake of survival. He doesn't wander from his home but has been known to take a long trip every year. Black doesn't care who wins, just as long as he get his food. He makes his home outside the former human city of Daranaughl taking careful consideration of what lies inside. Anyone stupid enough to walk into his home has their blood drained to death, not caring to sire a servant.

Black swore false allegiance to Morian a long time ago under the guise of a normal human. Being part of the undead persuasion the call of Malak'har didn't interest him. He was his own leader and god and didn't care to take on anything like that. Though it has been several hundred years since Black swore allegiance, so Morian's soldiers have probably been searching for him not knowing he has been hiding right under their noses.

Name: Darenith Neullishod "Bonesplitter"
Age: 210
Race: Elf, Northern
Gender: Male
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 132 lbs
Description: "This freak resembles some kind of disturbing elf and demon fusion. He's not a heretic; he merely skins and cures whatever demons he kills. Then he wears their remains to warn other demons stupid enough to try him. If you see him take off that black skull helmet he's so fond of, you'll see that he's an elf. His face is pretty enough, 'cept for the three big ol' scars running down his face, where his left eye used to be. Top of his left ear's shaved off too. He looks to have put a couple demon fangs in place of his canines. He's got some pretty long black hair, wonder if he's hiding a pair of horns. His eye is real strange too. It has this unearthly green glow to it when it's in the dark. He can't have put a demon's eye there, no, that's just too far fetched. Prolly some kind of magic experiment, my wizard buddy said.

Anyway, he's got some scale mail made outa demon bones he wears all the time. Whole scale mail suit, with the tops of horned demon skulls at the knee and elbow joints. He's got that helmet I mentioned earlier, and a gorget made out of some kinda demon bone. The boots and gauntlets are the weirdest part. It looks like he just started carving out of a big demon's hands, sized most of it to fit him. His boots have three big ol' demon claws on the front and one in the rear. He wears a black cloak made out of this weird, slick material, like it's made from some kinda eel. He carries this big, long spear with him, whole shaft is wood, but the top is this keen bone blade with a greenish tinge. He carries a kukri that's sharpened to shit, and a sickle-sword that's just as sharp. He's also been known to carry a bundle of short spears with splintered demon bone heads. If you can tell us where this guy is, I'll pay ya 500 gold pieces. He killed a couple of my brothers, and I'm here to settle the score."

Weapons and Equipment: A Greatspear with a demon bone blade named Bonesplitter, An extremely sharp steel kukri (think fillet knife, also fairly flimsy), A sharpened steel Khopesh (Think of a sword shaped like a question mark. ?), ten demon bone short spears (Used for throwing, will break off heads in melee), A full scale mail suit of demon bone armor (Special qualities, if any, are up to the GM. It hasn't been enchanted.), A cloak made from serpent demon hide (I would really like this to have some sort of special quality), a leather satchel for carrying "game", A small money pouch with protective runes stitched on the sides, a large whetstone, tongs, a small carving knife, waterskin made from demon skin with a wax interior coating, Thin leather quiver for the short spears.

Starting Location: Bastion of Dawn's Light

History: Darenith grew up hunting in Naorond. His parents would have him watch wild creatures and catalog their movements, until he could figure out how to kill them with a single strike. In his young age, he brought home a few eagles and wild goats. His parents then had him training non-stop with weapons until he was 100. They then presented him to the local war chief. Upon testing, it was revealed that Darenith was an exceptional soldier. However, he was denied from the army. When his parents asked why this was, the general showed them. He walked over to Darenith with a wild lamb. He then asked Darenith what he wanted the general to do with the lamb. Darenith told the general that he should stab it once in the head, near the temple. The general turned to his parents, explaining that Darenith had said to do the same thing with a wounded soldier. Outraged, his parents cast him out of his home, insisting that his behavior wasn't their fault. Darenith wandered for a long time, eventually ending up in demon lands. Hungry, he killed a demon with a sharpened stick and ate it raw. When he walked with the corpse, which he had been using to keep himself warm, into a small human settlement, they offered to hire him as a demon hunter. He would kill demons for a living. Darenith was content with this, feeling as though he had a purpose again.

Some years later, Darenith was hired along with several others to go on a hunt for a demon that lived underground. Darenith asked a wizard to augment his sight so that he might see the creature without light, but the wizard objected to doing so on a moral basis, no wanting to alter a mortal being with magic. After the hunt was over, Darenith and one other survived, out of seven hunters, and Darenith lost his eye to the creature. He "explained" the situation to the wizard, who quickly enchanted his remaining eye. Threatening to castrate the wizard might have helped too. The enchantment is imperfect, however. It takes a minute or so to switch over to dark vision, and sudden bright light when it is in this mode can cause Darenith great pain and temporary blindness.

Darenith has worked with many different smiths to get his demon bone armor just right. He has hunted and killed enough demons to earn himself a few years worth of rest, which he isn't taking. He arrives in Bastion to peddle his latest wares.

Bah not a single human yet =P Approved, his nature is something that works well with his age; beings born after the Sundering are generally more cutthroat, and take up odd professions like demon hunting.

Just letting you know now, him being in the Bastion will create a little drama, due to his extreme nature. Demon hunters are a dime a dozen in the Bastion, but none are nearly that hardcore about it. Very cool =)

Mostly because it's late and I have to say something.

He wears a brace of pistols on his right side

So that no one else will be confused about this:

(Copy-pasted from Wikipedia)

A brace of something is a way of defining the quantity of them as there being two of the items, much like a dozen of something (12) or a score (20).

Thank you, Saigo, you taught me a new word.

Also: Are guns common technology or are we to react to them as though they are rare or simply rumors?

SaigoKusunoki
06-04-2007, 11:37 PM
They're common of those in the Bastion, as the defenders have had to invent new ways to combat invasion. The majority of the army still fights hand to hand, but there are divisions of riflemen, mounted pistoliers, cannons, and the like. As for other areas, not so much. Elves still rely on arrows, and those in the Academy use whatever they can get their hands on.

PhoenixFlame
06-04-2007, 11:55 PM
Specifically to the phrase "Whatever they can get their hands on", precisely how bad is the post-apocalyptic situation? So bad that it's hard to find food at times, or relatively peaceful as long as you stay far away from Morian and his forces of hell[TM]?

For example, if the academy were still running at it's current level of free room and board for those willing to learn, one assumes they aren't hideously hurting for resources, correct?

SaigoKusunoki
06-05-2007, 12:00 AM
The situation is a little different everywhere you go. At the Academy, food is generally plentiful as the seal around the school keeps intruders out, and keeps the land in the general vicinity fertile. However, other supplies such as weapons and clothing, and living space, are limited. The Bastion is a little short of everything; they have enough to survive when it comes to food and water, but they dont have any extra to waste. The other factions live generally comfortably, as they have good natural borders (mountains and walls of fire in the case of Ultherathor) and in the case of Dhala'kar, they live in secrecy; with the death of Saigo, so too died the only knowledge of their society's existence.

Anyway, because it's that time of night when I can basically do anything tedious, here are some of the characters played by me (I say some because I have to play a ridiculous amount >_< )

Firstly, we'll get to those that are in the Academy.

Name: Sunev Valentine Kusunoki
Age: 535
Race: Vampire
Gender: Female
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120 lbs

Description: In the prime of her life, Sunev was considered one of the fairest of all maidens. That time has passed. She is small, deathly thin and pale, to the point where she looks unhealthy. Her hair, long and jet black, used to bound with life, but now hangs as if even it has lost the will to live. Her eyes are sewn shut, part of a promise she made herself when Saigo died. She wears not the clothing of an Empress, nor even the clothing of a mage, but a black dress of mourning, modified to fit every day needs...including combat. The skirt is cut short to allow for easy movement, and the bust and stomach area is reinforced with light elven mail under blackened leather. She wears blackened steel boots that extend up to her knees. She has two wings, but they were injured when they were first grown, and thus flap uselessly at her back instead of propelling her upwards. They are ratty and bent at an odd angle.

Weapons and Equipment: Sunev carries two weapons into battle; the large scythe of her fallen father, Antonio Valentine, and the longsword of her brother Sidian. The scythe is ornate in design, curved wickedly and polished bright. The sword is made of blackened steel and is actually quite plain, save for the blue gem set into the pommel. She also wears a ring with a large emerald set into it; she fidgets with it when she is nervous.

Starting Location: The Academy

History: Sunev, of all people, has lived a tortured life. She lost her parents to political assassination at the age of fifteen, and lost her older brother Sidian soon after. The only thing that seemed right in her life was Saigo; he always made her smile, no matter what the situation. Their inevitable marriage happened shortly after Saigo was crowned Emperor, a position he would not obtained had Sunev not revived him from the dead. They had three beautiful children, and for nineteen short years, Sunev was happy.
That happiness, however, was cut short when Morian murdered her husband. When she felt his death wake, her cries of anguish caused lesser men to claw their eyes out, and caused plants to shrivel and die. She was officially broken, and there was nothing, not the marriage of her daughter nor the birth of her grandson, that could put the light back into her eyes. In a silent vow to Saigo's memory, she sewed her own eyes shut, promising to never look upon a single being unless that being was Saigo.
Though she learned a lot from attending the Academy, during the last five hundred years, Sunev has become something along the lines of a monster. Unable to read, she absorbs information from books just by touching them, and five hundred years of intense study has made her a powerful mage. Light seems to bend around her frail form, and her hair, skirt, and other loose items seem to flow freely, as if they were alive. There are those who rumor she has made dark pacts, but rumors like that are quelled in fire, usually from her.

Name: Elvilad Elrundel
Age: 1255
Race: East Elf
Gender: Male
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 140 lbs

Description: Elvilad is lithe of build, typical of any elf. His hair is jet black, long and straight, and tied back to keep it out of his eyes. His skin is pale, but not as pale as say Sunev's. Only as pale as would be typical of any elf. He has a small black goatee and piercing amber eyes. He wears an obsidian breastplate under an offwhite fur robe, and black dragonhide pants. Has a very pristine, noble look about him, and even in his age, quite attractive. Has few wrinkles, not so typical of elves of his age, as they normally begin to wrinkle a good three hundred years younger than he is now.

Weapons and Equipment: Elvilad is not one to take part in battle, but when he must, he brandishes an obsidian longsword with a bright ruby set into the pommel.

Starting Location: The Academy

History: Saying Elvilad is a wise being is a supreme understatement. Though by far not the oldest of elves, he has spent his years well, studying and researching and honing not just his mastery of the elements, but of strategy and logic. Best friend of the High Mage Corynnar of Ultherathor, the High Mage begged him for centuries to join the army as it's Head Military Advisor. Elvilad refuse every time, always saying with a smile on his face that his liege has yet to present himself. When Saigo was crowned Emperor, he learned of a hermit of Ultherathor, who could see the very threads of time itself. Saigo personally walked the entire way, to find this master tactician. Impressed by his virtue, Elvilad agreed to join Saigo on his quest to bring justice to the world.
Elvilad predicted the Sundering. A master Runesmith, he had cast the runes one night and forseen great evil. Unfortunately, others who had predicted the same event had been banished from the country, a sign that Saigo had been bewitched. Instead of telling the Emperor what he had forseen, as it would do no good, he plotted Morian Baneblade's assassination. He was too late, however, and Saigo dispatched him to deal with raiders from the west. Morian betrayed Saigo even as Elvilad marched west to deal with the Gorobar distraction.
Ever since Saigo's fall, Elvilad has been busy acting as the new Headmaster of the Academy, with the death of the old Headmaster Geliath Jerramas. Whatever free time he gets, he spends it reading and enhancing his mind. He knows soon, everything he has ever learned will be put to the test. He will not fail again.

And finally for the night

Name: Phoenix
Age: 19
Race: Human/North Elf
Gender: Male
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 135 lbs

Description: Phoenix is strong and tall, built thin and deadly like his blades. One of the students at the Academy, Phoenix has always been at the top of his class, an unmatched swordsman (least as students go). His hair is black and short, hardly extending past his ears. His eyes are a bright emerald green, an unusual color that draws much attention to him. The last person to have the same color eyes was Saigo Kusunoki. He wears the typical uniform of the Academy, a white, black, and light blue long sleeved shirt, with matching long pants.

Weapons and Equipment: Phoenix wields two thin swords made of Goldanium, a substance discovered/created by the North Elves that is the same color as gold coins, but is as hard as blackened steel. They both have a string of leather hanging from the hilt, each with a single sharp tooth looped onto it. The teeth are the canines of the first demon he killed when he idly wandered outside of the Seal.

Starting Location: The Academy

History: Phoenix was born and raised in the Academy. Though his mother and father are human, it is obvious that both he and his father have elf blood in them. He has attended the Academy since he was a child, honing his skills for when he can "pummel that Morian scrub into the dust". Though boastful and cocky, Phoenix is not without intelligence, and scores well on most tests he is forced to take, his only weak point being magic. But hey, can't have it all can you? Recently, his father fell deathly ill and was magically transported to Ultherathor with his mother, the very air of the East Elf country rumored to have healing properties. It is unknown whether he is still alive, as a recent tempest in the Winds of Magic make telepathic communication nearly impossible. Phoenix is well liked by most students for having that "never say never" attitude, and is particularly favored by Elvilad, whom keeps a close eye on the boy.

And that is it for Academy characters. Before posting the actual topic, I will post the specifics for the rest of the major characters that Im going to be playing (Christ -.- ), more for reference or a boredom reliever than an actual necessary thing.

A traitor within the ranks. Approved through PMs.

Name: Villard
Age: 27
Race: Heretic- Human
Gender: Male
Height: 6"3
Weight: Roughly 200 pounds
Description: Villard has straight hair, closely cropped, and colored a very light almost sandy red; it hangs on his head in a helmet-like fashion. He has very dark green eyes. His face, while being fairly attractive seems unnaturally ashen and haggard at times.
Weapons and Equipment: A large Halberd coated with steel along the haft to prevent the haft being chopped off. Villard also carries a sword breaker, for use in emergencies. He has ordered a suit of plate mail though while it is being constructed he wears a steel breastplate.
Starting Location: Bastion of Dawn's Light
History: Villard was born in a town a short way from The Bastion, deemed unimportant strategically by both sides of the conflict. He fell in love and married one of the village women, a beautiful girl named Neril. After getting married, he took on the burden of supporting his wife's considerable extended family. There was not enough money to be made in the village so he left, getting a large assortment of jobs abroad, and sending the money back home. Two years passed in this way, but among the townsfolk were a few supporters of Morian, who were plotting to use the town as a point from which they could infiltrate the Bastion. Someone caught wind of their plans and divulged them to those in the Bastion, and a small group was sent to eradicate the plotters. Paranoia took hold of the town, and many were killed, Villard's wife among them.

Villard's world collapsed; and he blamed the humans and dwarves of the Bastion for his loss, embittered, he went to Daranaughl, and joined up with Morian's armies, to revenge himself on them. He joined the military and slowly crawled up his way in the ranks, his fervor and the useful skills he had picked up on the road, helping him along. Unlike most of the other humans in Daranaughl, he lacked any noticeable mutation, and had acquaintances within the Bastion of Dawn's Light. After reaching seniority Villard was sent back to the land of his birth, where he was to join up with the military, to be the demon's agent from within. He managed it, and is once again slowly moving along in rank. In his time in Daranaughl he feverishly studied the basic workings of magic, and can now manage a few small combat tricks. Mainly involving whipping up soome obscuring dust or the like.

Villard does not care overmuch for the demons he fights with; he finds many of them repulsive, though he will grudgingly consent to work for them. He is seen as weird by the people he knows as these days, often going into long tangents on odd topics, and falling silent abruptly. He doesn't fraternize often with the others in the army.

Full cast and crew?

Echo of sanity
06-05-2007, 11:00 AM
Name: Ruin

Age: 937 talean years

Race: Demon

Gender: Male

Height: 10'4"

Weight: 1059

Description: A toad demon that was summoned from the void. Very large, but suprisingly quick for his size. Ruin has a long toung that he can use for swiping, and to drag foes into his large razor filled mouth. Calm and cool-headed for a demon, Ruin is capable of speach, and is suprisingly intelligent.

(Simmilar in appearance to a toad demon from the game "jade empire" http://jade.bioware.com/characters/images/profile_toaddemonc.jpg)

Weapons and Equipment: Claws, long toung, sharp teeth, and a club that is a tree trunk with 2 dozen nails hammered through it.

Starting Location: Daranaughl

History: Summoned directly from the void, where unspeakable horrors are common, ruin will do anything to stay in this plane of reality. Very unloyal, ruin only serves Morian untill he finds a chance to escape, and live the rest of his days in the rainforests of the south.

Cool character, different type of demon than most, let me just tell you, you WILL be dominated by Morian at some point to fight for him. That goes for all that are in that general area. He is the avatar of a Demon God, so he has powers =P

Alright anyway, like I said, before I start this I was going to post all the rest of the characters being played by me. (This is going to be an effing chore)

I will just go in order of location posted. Here's the Bastion of Dawn's Light:

Name: Enav Dunedhal
Age: 655
Race: Dwarf
Gender: Male
Height: 4'5"
Weight: 170 lbs.

Description: Muscular and swarthy skinned, this dwarf is passed his prime. His skin is rife with wrinkles and his hair and beared are a silvery white. However, his spirit has not died, and his gray eyes burn with the fires of determination. His beard is braided five times, and strung with golden beads.

Weapons and Equipment: Enav carries a two handed mace called Worldbreaker, forged personally by him. He also wears adamantite armor, also forged by him, to fit him perfectly. It is silver and gilt gold, meant to awe and inspire his men as well as frighten his opponents.

Starting Location: Bastion of Dawn's Light

History:Known as the Master Forgesmith, Enav personally forged Odessa, Shiro Tanata's greatsword, over 500 years ago. When Morian turned and began his genocide of the dwarves, it was Enav who rallied those still alive and brought them to the Bastion of Dawn's Light. Highly intelligent, he developed both gunpowder rifles and pistols. He spends much of his recent time meditating; he feels that this year, something big is going to happen, and he needs to be both physically and mentally prepared.

Alright now the Naorond characters:

Name: King Kalaador Aferaanor
Age: 3603
Race: North Elf
Gender: Male
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 135 lbs.

Description: Kalaador, in a feat that baffles most people, has no wrinkles on his skin. If one were to regard him casually, you wouldnt guess he was over 19 human years old. He is lithe and fit, and extremely attractive. His hair is a bright silvery white, and hangs down past his shoulders. He is perfectly unscarred, which is even more frightening than if he was riddled with scars, if you knew the life he leads. Has calculating blue eyes that seem to stare into your very soul.

Weapons and Equipment: Kalaador carries weapons forged centuries in the past, weapons of untold power. He normally carries a long, crescent-bladed polearm that is made of a blackened steel unknown to today's smiths. He also carries two longswords of the same material. All are wickedly curved and deadly looking. He wears tight-fitting armor that is so black that it seems to absorb light. The helm that he wears exposes nothing, and the only thing visible are his cold blue eyes. The helm itself, made of the same material as his armor, has wickedly curving horns that give him the appearance of a demon.

Starting Location: Naorond

History: There is much to Kalaador. Born of an elven king, he was the oldest of three sons and the rightful heir to the Ultherathorian throne. However, some did not view him as a good leader due to his vile, sadistic tendencies. Those caught as criminals while under his watch weren't just imprisoned, they were skinned alive and bathed in salt, but kept magically alive. He was cruel and cutthroat, but he felt that is how you must be to assure authority. Fear ensures loyalty, so goes the saying. When he father finally died, and he was to ascend the throne, Corynnaar used his sway in the High Council to make sure it wasn't so. Wrathful, Kalaador retreated to the northern wastes, named it Naorond, the elven word for Spite, and began building an army and a country of his own. For the next thousand years, a brutal, bitter war was raged between Naorond and Ultherathor. It only ended when Saigo Kusunoki, alone, stepped in between two charging armies, and demanded they stop in the name of peace. The look of determination in his eyes made each army falter in it's charge, and made Kalaador personally march out to shake hands with Corynnaar, thus ending the war. Kalaador has forever been in Saigo's debt for this, and began free trade with Archanas, the first country Naorond had ever traded with.
Saigo's death affected Kalaador greatly, as he had sworn an oath of Brotherhood with the Emperor of Man. Of all of the independent countries, Naorond is the only one that seeks active war with Morian. There have been many times when Morian raised a grand army to conquer the Bastion of Dawn's Light, that a Naorond army would march on Daranaughl, and give their lives to delay or completely stop Morian's march, and make him return home.
Nowadays, Kalaador sits atop his obsidian throne and waits for the day that Morian can be crushed.

Name: Maleus Pegasi
Age: 666 (=P)
Race: North Elf
Gender: Male
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 150 lbs.

Description: Unlike his master, Maleus is riddled with scars, testimony to the many battle's he's fought in his life. His hair is long, down to his lower back, perfectly straight and jet black. His eyes are bloodred, a common color of North elves. He has a scar at the side of his mouth, causing his lips to be pulled back in an eternal sneer.

Weapons and Equipment: Carries nonmagical weapons, as he doesnt like the chill up your spine that picking up a magical weapon gives you. He carries a curved, two handed sword typical of all Naorond heavy cavalry, and a thin longsword for use in a pinch. He wears heavy, blackened steel plate mail typical of Naorond cavalry. An example of "typical" armor:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a91/SaigoKusunoki/coldoneknightstandartlarge.jpg

Starting Location: Naorond

History: Maleus, though young, is a good friend of Kalaador's. He is the Horselord of the Cavalry, a position second only to the King. He is brash, though he does not lack any courage or spirit. After Saigo's death, his daughter Uriko came to Naorond seeking shelter. She found it in Maleus' own home. They married, and sired one child, but the girl died in child birth. Unable to watch after his child by himself and not trusting any Naoronians with his only child (there were many who resented his high position at such a young age) so he delivered the child to the Academy.

This is starting to get really effing tedious. But Im thorough =P Im going to skip a few characters, as they will only come into play later. For now, here are the evil characters.

Name: Morian Baneblade
Age: 529
Race: Human/Demon
Gender: Male
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 170 lbs.

Description: Morian seethes hate and evil just from his very appearance. He is pale skinned, so pale in fact that you can see his veins, which have since blackened with corruption. His eyes have turned a dark red, and his canines are lengthened and sharp. His hair hangs to his shoulders in ratty, greasy strings. Though built strong, he still appears unhealthy, due to his color.

Weapons and Equipment: Morian wields a large, one-handed sword gifted to him by Malak'har. It is known as the Destroyer of Worlds, and with it, he plans on doing just that. He wears tight fitting black mail of an unknown material; it is flexible, almost like leather, but most blades striking it will shatter instantly. Such are the gifts of the avatar of a Demon God. He also wears an imposing black cloak, embroidered in gold, with blasphemous, demonic runes sewed into it. The cloak seems to shift and move on it's own.

Starting Location: Daranaughl

History: Morian Baneblade began his life as the son of a politician. He learned how to work with people, and was going to become a lawyer, but realized he had much more potential. He presented himself to the Emperor, who took a great liking to him. In three years of service, he was promoted to the position of Prime Minister. Eventually, Saigo sent him overseas, with one million soldiers and the entire Royal Navy in his command. This would be the last order Saigo would ever give him. While over on a new continent, the residents, the Gorobar, introduced him and converted him to the Church of Malak'har. He returned to Daranaughl a monster, an abomination. He turned more than half the army and citizens against Saigo, and wreaked havoc, even killing the crown prince Dante Kusunoki, and eventually, Saigo himself. With Daranaughl and all of Archanas now his, he built up a massive army from all parts of the Multiverse, demons that merely looking at it would make a typical man go insane, horrific warriors of untold power. All his. Finally, he was in a position that he felt he rightfully deserved. Malak'har brings fortune to those who kneel.

Name: Praxis
Age: 21
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Height: 7'2"
Weight: 300 lbs.

Description: One glance will tell you that Praxis is the favored of the Gods. He is unnaturally tall and muscular, swarthy skinned and riddled with scars. His hair is short and black, and his eyes are pure black. He wears a tiara that has two phoenix tail feathers sprouting from it, that reach to the floor.

Weapons and Equipment: Praxis carries an enormous, wickedly curved halberd named Sky Render. Im feeling lazy, so here's some pics; the first pic is an example of his head/face and halberd, and the second is the black plate that he wears. Yes, Im feeling lazy, I just wanna get this thing started =P
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a91/SaigoKusunoki/200px-Lu_Bu_Art.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a91/SaigoKusunoki/chaos_warrior.jpg

Starting Location: Daranaughl

History: Praxis is a special case. He was born of a rebellious tribe of feral humans in the Greater Plains to the southeast of Daranaughl. Morian sent a small strike force to deal with the rebels, and was surprised to learn that they had been almost wiped to the man, the two survivors speaking of a fearsome warrior wielding an obviously magical halberd, who could cleave through armored man and armored horse as easily as a hot knife through butter. Curious, Morian raised an army of ten thousand, and marched on the small tribe. One man was left alive, one man stood defiant to the army. His voice boomed a challenge like thunder, and Morian was too glad to accept. They dueled for over an hour, when Morian realized that he couldnt just kill such talent. He offered the boy (for he was merely 17 at the time) a place in his army, by his side, as his personal bodyguard. Praxis accepted, realizing he couldnt beat Morian...just yet. Now four years in Morian's service, Praxis has gained an unbelievable amount of power, through both demonic pact and combat training. There are none in Morian's army, not even the Legio Dominatus, that can beat him.

Name: Gaius Asmodeus
Age: 41
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 150 lbs.

Description: Gaius is tall and fit, and fairly pale skinned. He wears the blue, black, and purple robes of a military advisor of Saigo's, something that angers most, including Morian, but his mind is too brilliant to waste by murdering him. His eyes are a cool blue, and his body in unscarred. His hair, a bright blonde, is wound and tied up in a fancy way to make himself look more regal.

Weapons and Equipment: Gaius is not much of a fighter, but he carries a longsword at his side for safety. Besides that, he is armed with nothing but his wit.

Starting Location: Daranaughl

History: Gaius Asmodeus distinguished himself very early in his life to Morian, when he presented a signed letter stating what Morian should do in a recent battle against the North Elves. Though it seemed ambiguous and odd, Morian followed the plan to the letter, and caught the North elf army in rings, and utterly annihilated them. Immediately, Morian put out a search warrant for the mysterious Gaius, and was surprised to find he was a mere 19 years old. It was very apparent that the boy had a mind not seen in centuries; he was immediately given a position as a Military Advisor. The complete opposite of Praxis, Gaius is calm and cool headed, thinking thoroughly before any words are spoken or actions are taken.

And once I grab a bite to eat, Im going to start this shiz.

Yeah just use this as a discussion thread.

And basically, the general direction is a sort of three part thing Im trying to still piece together. We'll just see how this goes.

And just in case you're wondering, Saigo is masking himself, that's why none who are magically capable can detect him, not even Elvilad (which is why he was able to sneak into the Headmaster's room)
