I got a Game Cube last week. (I don't like to rush into these things) So far, I just have Smash bros. and Paper Mario. What others should I pick up?
I mainly play RPGs and fighters, some action/adventure.

I highly reccomend Soul Calibur 2. It has a large cast of fighters, and it even has Link in there. It's right behind Smash Brothers in my favorite fightings games.
My favorite RPG for the Gamecube is Tales of Symphonia. It has a great real-time fighting engine that is a lot of fun to play. Up to four players can fight, but it doesn't work out too well. Single player is a lot of fun anyway.
If you want a more traditional RPG, Skies of Arcadia is good if you can find it. It has regular turnbased battles as well as some fun airship battles as well.
As for Action/Adventure, both of the Zelda games are awesome.
Viewtiful Joe is also a very fun game to play. It is a side-scrolling beat-em-up, with lots of cool moves and combos to do. Viewtiful Joe 2 was ok, but the original was much better.
Hope this helps!

No offense, but I hope you have a PS2, as a GC is not an RPG system, or muhc of a fighter system either. I can reccomend Geist and MGS Twin Snakes though, though you may not like how weakly implemented the possesion mechanic in Geist is, it seems cool, but it's too linear. You never get to really play around with it.

Tales of Symphonia, as previously reccomended, is awesome. If RPGs are what make you horny, then you should try Baten Kaitos too. Stay the hell away of Phantasy Star Online (whatever version). It will only make you addicted and it doesn't even have a very good plot to begin with.
Capcom vs SNK 2: EO will probably satisfy your fighter needs, but as I'm not a professional in the genre you shouldn't take my word for it.

Hmm sadly LoJ is right the GC ain't great for RPGs and Fighters. Action Adventure on the other hand.
The Metroid Prime games are probably the best action adventure games of the generation though they're from a first person perspective. There is also of course the Zeldas.
Other games I'lll recommend you try as they're not in your listed genre, Pikmin 2(incredibly good and the definition of a good sequel, every single problem with the first was fixed while staying true the formula of the original), Resident Evil 4(which is the definition of a good reinvent) and Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem and the REmakes are great horror games(Though ED may be a little dated at this point).

Games I have I suggest:
Resident Evil 1 Remake
Resident Evil 4
Zelda Wind Waker
Zelda Twilight Princess (if you aren't going to buy a Wii, otherwise DEFINITELY buy it for Wii)
Capcom vs SNK 2
Pikmin (Pikmin 2 seems pretty good as well but I can't recommend since I haven't played enough of it)
Prince of Persia (all three)
Rogue Squaderon II: Rogue Leader (but NOT the third game, VERY IMPORTANT to SKIP Rogue Squaderon III)
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (Cheesy and alters the original game...but it was graphically good and easier to play due to the platform jump)
Metroid Prime
Eternal Darkness
Naruto GC Fighters (the 4th one is the best, but its only out in Japan and requires a Japanese/Modded GC. Still, the second game is out there and cheap now so its worth a pick up. Unless you somehow have the ability to get the 4th game which is about 100x bigger and has EVERYBODY up to like episode 120 including characters they even forgot in the second game [where the heck is Temari and Ten Ten].)
Games I own or owned but didn't play a lot of or finish:
Tales of Symphonia (voices, long periods of talking, more interesting games at the time came out)
Mario Sunshine (Repetative Shine Get, not as good as other Mario games or Mario 64)
F-Zero GC (Rediculously cheap AI, Opponents cars go faster than their cars can physically go when you are leading, fun but you just can't enjoy it except that 1 out of every 20 times you actually win a race)
Games I just say stay away from:
Pokemon Colluseum (5 minute battles, indavidual moves take an entire minute to pull off, freeze ups, glitches, LAAAAG, story mode is boring and not at all like what Pokemon usually is)
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (I'll sum it up in a sentence. It was one of my three most anticipated games since launch and after 4 years, when it came out and I finally got it, I played it for about 3 hours.)
Rogue Squaderon III: Rebel Strike (How can I summerize how bad this game is. Let's just say I'm no longer sad Factor 5 decided to 'ditch' Nintendo and go make games for the 'other guys' only. Especially after they made Rogue Squaderon II, rushed, in 7 months and it turned out to be a hard but pretty damn good game. Then they made us wait three and a half years for a sequel and we got something that shouldn't even be considered a 5.0 game. Seems I'll never get a Star Wars game to thelevel of Tie Fighter again. But I guess that's like asking Stephen Speilberg to make Jurrasic Park IV to the Quality of Empire of the Sun.)
Soul Calibur II (This is just my own personal thing just because I don't really think SC2 was a good enhancement to the series. Some people loved it though. Also Link was by far the cheapest addition to the game and you could, in about 5 or 10 hours or something, complete the entire game with just Link doingthe same three moves over and over [the same one if you did his ledge grab and throw-off]. In the end, once you complete all of the quest mode and play a couple hours with a friend, I have yet to find anyone who doesn't just drop SC2 and return to either Smash Bros or playing Dreamcast/PS2/PC fighters instead. It doesn't hold replay value. Unless you're a major Raphael fanatic).

Edit - Forgot To mention Fire Emblem. Not the best Fire Emblem, but its good.
Also the mentioned Zelda: Master Quest. Is VERY rare and probably like 40+ dollars for a slight remake of Ocarina of Time. But believe us when we say, it is very different than Ocarina when it comes down to level design and it is QUITE hard. The Shadow Temple has like 50 damn keys!

I can recommend -
Super Mario Sunshine - It may not have been as good as Mario 64, but it's still a fun Mario game
Soul Calibur 2 - I love the game, and you get Link! I was so happy when my XBOX broke so I had an excuse to get this version.
Legend of Zelda - Wind Waker - It was a good game, and there's really not much I can say. If you liked OoT, you'll like this.
Legend of Zelda - Master Quest - If you can find it. Which is a pretty big if. But it has a hard mode for OoT, so it's worth picking up.
Pikmin 2 - I'd recommend this over the first one, since it's longer, has more to do, and allows for multi-play if you feel like it.
Tales of Symphonia - Everyone else already recommended it, but I'd like to mention it too.
Skies of Arcadia - Hard to find, but still a pretty good RPG.
And that's all I can think of right now.

For a RPG fix get Skies of Arcadia, that game will take you a while if you do everything.
If you like side scroller shoot'ems then get Irukaga, its a gem.
Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 are great games if you like the genre.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is another great RPG with some nifty action elements and the best final boss ever. Ever.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is a good strategy RPG, especially if you like a challenge.
Evolution Worlds is another Dreamcast RPG port, and if you can find it its worth at least bargain bin prices. I honestly liked this game.
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is a passably good Pokemon game.
If you got friends you should also pick up a Mario Party and Super Smash Bros Melee.

I think you missed the part where he said "GC RPGs".
Also get Freeloader because it lets you play Japanese GC games without modding your system.

Go for Tales of Symphonia, Baiten Kaitos, Metroid Prime, MGS: Twin Snakes, LoZ: Windwaker, and Twilight Princess if you don't have a Wii.

I might also suggest Gladius. Its a bit RPGish with some RTS and action adventure thrown in.

Gladius is the grid based combat one, isn't it? If so, I've played it at my friends house and second it.

Well this might help you figure that out but it sounds about right. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladius_(video_game))
The fact that it also made it to the Xbox and that's its gotten good reviews from critics and better reviews from gamers should give you an idea of just how fun this game really is. Its one of those hidden gems you keep hearing about.

Skies of Arcadia
No, the only good thing about this for the GCN, was that it got shorter. Get the Dreamcast version instead, it's A LOT better. Also, Tales Of FTW. Or "Gale of Darkness (Pokemon)"

Did you mean to link me here (http://www.justfuckinggoogleit.com/) or something? Linking me to a new reply doesn't make much sense to me...

Out of all the GC games at the stores near me the only ones available are second-rate crappy ones like Avatar. Metroid? Nope.

Ebay is your friend for GC games, if you're patient Master Quest pops up fairly often.

You know what is really depressing? I think that these two pages basically summed up all the good games you could get for the Gamecube.

WHat's wrong with that? There's quite a lot of games listed here actually...and some of, if not the best games of last gen. And talking about sheer number, I'd say there's more reasons to buy a GC than XBOX anyway. Even this thread shows it.

There's plenty more games to get, we just focused mainly on RPG's and fighters. For example, both Mario Kart and Mario Golf are worth at least trying.
I can reccomend Geist and MGS Twin Snakes though
MGS: TS - Seriously. Everything MGS is the awesome - except the third - I liked the first two alot better.
But get your hands on Wario Ware as soon as you can. It is great fun by yourself, and an even better game for mooching around with friends. It's awesome.
Resident Evil 4 is always good.

I'm starting to notice that we have very different opinions, Mister Poetisch. Yes....
Obviously I am the Moriarty to your Holmes. Unless if you want to be the evil person. Then I'll gladly be the pipe smoking geek.
I liked Mario Strikers. Maybe I'm insane, but hey...
I also liked Double Dash, Paper Mario(which was mentioned in the first post I believe) and Smash Brothers(again already mentioned in the first post).

Dude. Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.
It's good for a long playthrough, it's good for a short, ten minute, blow the shit out of a bunch of stuff.
Comic books are a bitch to find, but besides that, it's a lot of fun.
Here's the list of games I have... and what I think of them:
Resident Evil 4: Not a scary game... unless you play it in the dead of night. During the Regenerator part. Ick! Very much fun though, probably should be your first buy, if you enjoy the whole "Zombie killin'" thing.
Hulk: Ultimate Destruction: MWeeehehe. I beat it tonight after a short time playing around. It won't challenge you, but it is a lot of fun, very stress reliving too.
Metroid Prime 1: Good game. If you're into the FPSAventure thing, get it. It's the best of its kind.
Metroid Prime 2: See above.
Ultimate Spider-Man: Meh, haven't played this much.
Tales of Symphonia: Mo' like TALES OF WIN and WIN. Fun game, great combat system, it's a wee bit on the long side, so at the end you'll find yourself changing channels while some of the skits play through. To get the really fun stuff, you'll have to play through twice or so (To get the good "Replay Enhancers" you need somewhere around 5k Grade. You get 1k for beating the final boss, and an average of about 1 grade per battle, if you're good) I liked this game a lot.
LoZ:Wind Waker: Screw it, get Twilight Princess instead. I wanted to kill this game badly, probably the worst in the entire Zelda series.
That's all I can think of for now. And before you guys mob me about the WW comment, compare it to TP. Twilight Princess kicked ass, WW just sucked it. =P

No, not really. If you had cared enough to see past its graphics to the kick-ass Middle Scene where Time is stopped and everything is Black and White or remember back to the win that is Wind Waker Ganon, then you'd see it even had a few things up on Twilight. Or just realized that, in its way, the graphical choice WAS good and even in some instances better than Twilight (Barrel Scene, Links Expressions, Character Design over many of the more gritty and exaggerated designs for characters in Twilight just to name a few).
And this is coming from someone who loves Twilight and Midna AND doesn't think Wind Waker is 'the best' Zelda. Wind Waker had a few strong points of its own.
Oh also, there's no Zombies in RE4. Just an ongoing joke online, but its true.

Oh, WW has its bright points, but overall was more of a pain in the ass with the boating than anything. I just said that it was the worst in the series.
Which is wrong. LoZ2: Link's Adventure FTL!
WW is second worst. ^_^
