View Full Version : Odd RPG Campaign Idea

OK, I'm in a FFRPG (http://www.returnergames.com) with a few of my friends, which I actually found out about from Twinkin' Out, so a big thank you to Sosa for that, and because I'm the one who discovered the system (through Sosa's assistance), I'm GMing, at least until the others get more used to the system.

They're currently in a hidden cave accidentally torn open during a magical experiment by werewolf druids which released some sort of raw magical energy that is pumping up all the monsters around, so there's no rush in finishing this idea, but yesterday this great idea for the next campaign popped into my head: a campaign based on the Internet.

I'm not quite sure how I'm going to work that into a fantasy setting, but I'm thinking something along the lines of a virus seizing hold of a time machine and transporting it back to the setting, where it naturally wreaks havoc somehow (haven't quite decided yet), and when the heroes try to stop it, it sucks them into itself.

So now I've run into a snag, and that's designing the dungeon. The whole idea stemmed from a pack of gibbering mouthers spouting AOLer talk such as OMG WTF n00b a/s/l LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!1!!!11! (etc.). So, naturally, the virus is the boss (I'll make up some custom monster for him, rather than base him off a DnD monster) and I thought of a succubus or two in a porn ad, but after that, I've run out of ideas. What else is there on the internet besides illiterate dumbasses and porn?

Now, naturally, you can already tell by the idea that my friends and I don't take RPing tremendously seriously, so you can stretch the imagination as much as you like. And I know you all are about to suggest 8-Bit references, but the others don't know about 8BT (well, one of them is, but he just started reading and only got through the first 60 episodes).

Any suggestions?
