Sooooo... people shoved guns in anything! But what are your favourite weapons from the past?

These also are great if you are writing something or wants to spice up your RP session!

I find the gun whip to be a very interesting idea.

"Say, what time is it?"
"TIME TO DIE!!!"

I must ask; where did you find such abominations of flint and steal? Don't know why but the gun whip allures me like a Galleon to a Siren.

Edit: Also when I first saw this thread I thought this was going to be show casing weaponry such as the Pilum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilum). Instead I'm presented with house hold items that could transform one's self into a walking cannon!

saw it by mistake on a Brazilian blog about "crazy stuff" but im 100% sure the guy caught it from somewhere else...

Also, not only these guns are awesome, but their Upgrades too... juts combine the idea behind the Whip Gun with the Fish Hook gun, and you can have a deadly FIshing Rod gun!!

I can't believe nobody's ever used the Gun Whip in a game before. It could be the next step for Castlevania.

And on that thought... Cat o' Six Tails Gatling Gun Whip!

It generates spiral energy while firing.

Did anyone get a "vampire hunters toolkit 101" looking at some of these? (mostly the crucifix-gun, but then, gun-whip has sort of a Castlevania feel to it)

Can't forget the sword-gloves

I was in one of the museums in Chicago, I believe whichever one is closest the the Bean in Millenium Park, but there was a gun-shield. Can't remember if it was considered a buckler or a targe, and I can't seem to find a picture, but it was totally awesome.

That's either the worst firearm or the best lampshade ever conceived.

I wonder what size/type of bullet it was designed to carry? Looks like a right pain to do any maintenance/jam fixing on it.

Honestly, Blues' ASCII looked more like a crossbow than anything.

And on that note, the Crossbow has always been one of my favorite weapons in pre-gunpowder history.

As a rule of thumb, law enforcement isn't amused by things like gun-canes. So that's kind of out. I guess?

But I did hyperventilate.

Holy shit YES! *saves*

It was at a better angle to show it off when I saw it, but still totally epic. :D

You should see the thing in person. For the time it was made, it was perfectly adequate. I believe it was a one-shot ball musket of some sort, so the idea was you could shoot first and then worry about using it to block and guard, in a time when accuracy and reloading really weren't issues. This was not a dueling pistol or one that was supposed to carry you through an entire battle at range.

Honestly, Blues' ASCII looked more like a crossbow than anything.

Meh, I was doing it while trying to carry on a conversation with friends, and it's hard for me to talk and type. I thought I at least did the handle pretty well.

judging by the size of the barrel of the gun and that it has a very small grid-like window right there, me thinks it's probably something closer to a "personal cannon". Probably has the same function that a musket would have but with the added "shield", probably good for shooting fr om windows and partial cover

Also, if you take the Whip gun and add a metal ball to the point, you get a Flail gun and that's just awesome!

I'm surprised there was no gunbrella. The Penguin is very disappointed with you all.

One thing I can't understand is why there is no gun hat. I searched a few times, but haven't found anything.

I'm more interested in gunglasses. It's the closest thing you'll get to laser eyes, and I imagine they're quite fashionable! If crazy, and totally impractical, but isn't that the whole point?

Awesome stuff, by the way. So much crazy in one place.

There wouldn't be much on a gun that size, but it would still be there and you could get a nasty cramp if you weren't prepared.

I mean this entire thread is crazy, but yowch.

So how about Flashlight Guns? Gunbikes? ...The Guntendo DS?

I want one so hard.

Well, gee, Final Fantasy's always putting swords in things. My point was just that Castlevania's legendary Vampire Killer Whip needs to get with the times and grow a Vampire Killer Gun to match.

Just gonna say, somebody's gonna make a Gun Cellphone if they haven't already. It's the perfect cover for an assassination.

Other than the aforementioned Guntendo DS.

I would be willing to take up smoking just for a chance to use the gun-pipe. The cancer would be totally worth it.

*smoking a pipe* "I see you've caught me unaware in my study" *puff* "It would seem that you have the advantage my old adversary. I must commend your efforts." *click, BANG* "But then, appearances can be deceiving, and effort is only meaningful if you succeed" *puff* "Goodnight, James."

As long as you're throwing out reason and personal bodily harm as limitations, just go all the way nuts and get yourself a glass-eye gun.

Krylo
11-27-2008, 02:22 AM
Because the glass-eyes are where you keep your bombs. Obviously.

Also, the pocket watch gun looks like you need to open it and unscrew the dial to reveal the trigger and barrel?

That's lame.

On a proper pocket watch gun you'd press the dial to fire it.

No no no, you don't kill vampires with the gun part. That part's for loading up with silver bullets to take down the werewolves.

Actually, it looks to me like you press a button on the outside and it fires through the adjusting pin, possibly using the knob as the bullet. The thing you think looks like a trigger looks more like a gun hammer to me.

gun hammer

Yes. We need one of these too.

Gun whip. A gun whip. Wow, how come I've never heard of this before?!! That is the most awesome weapon ever.

Well, except for Gunchucks, but nobody seems to have invented those yet.

EDIT; Next I hope to see an "Amazing Weapons from the Future" thread.

"Oh can you hear it? Can you hear how I shoot people down? Oh how shame it's that I can't show the blood to you. You can't even smell it. But you can hear how it drops and drops, so very gently, so very nicely. And doesn't it make you cry? You can't help them, you are such a looser, you know. You have failed to save people's lives even though it's your job. You are nothing and even that's too much."

Okay, maybe I will stop before I will become crazy lunatic killer or something.
