Anyone else here read the Dresden books?

I've just finished book five and I've got to admit that these books are great brain candy. The author has an excellent sense of pacing and the characters are well made.

For those of you who haven't read any of them i recommend it. I mean come on, he's a wizard that carries and uses a gun. No one expects a spell slinger to pull out a colt python.

I've watched the series and started Storm Front a while ago.

While I enjoyed the series, I don't think that I was too big a fan of Jim Butcher's writing style. Keep in mind, though, I read Chandler and Hammet when I want a dose of detective fiction.

I own pretty much all of them.

If I wanted a deep philosophical work, I would definitely look elsewhere, but they're some of the best mindless entertaining books I read. Codex Alera is pretty good.

I've read up to Proven Guilty and I pretty much agree with Bookworm.

They're airport fantasy/detective novels, but pretty good for what they are.

Anyone have a good synopsis of these books? I've got a laundry list of things I need to read once I've got some time, might as well keep adding on when the dry spell of gaming hits.
