View Full Version : DVD Burning
So, I'm trying to put some stuff on my computer onto DVD, but some of the files are in MKV format, which Windows DVD Maker and Nero don't seem too fond of. I tried using Any Video Converter to convert the file to AVI the picture was too big when I viewed it on my TV. I'd guess this is because MKV is like the HD version of the file or something. Is there anything I can do to burn this or convert it for burning so I won't have these problems?
Well... if you want to burn a TV DVD, then you could do what I do and use CyberLink PowerDirector instead. It will take your MKV's (for the most part) and burn them normally.
I was trying to burn DMC and Huzzah's encodes wouldn't fly, but Triad's did so I dunno what happened there.
---Just tried it out with three different groups' encodes. Worked on all three.

huh really? that's strange. works for me and i use AnyDVD Converter...
What I also found that helped (could be because of this) I burned them onto a DivX-DVD since I have a DivX-compatible upconverting HD-DVD player.

Did you checked "VSO ConvertXtoDVD" ? There is a freeware version and as far as i know it converts EVERYTHING to TV DVD already with Chapters and a menu.
It's quite customizable too... and the only trye bonus i know of the payed version is more Menu Types.
