No, but it does mean that there might not be enough to mount a successful bandwagon in any case. Two mafiates were already killed off by the start of the second day. If even two or three were inactive after that, the ability to try to simply effect the course of the game through sheer numbers could be severely crippled.

Given the low amount of active players we have already, if there were a large amount of mafiates to go about bandwagon, the impact would be more than a little noticeable.

The main issue I had was that he's a PO, he shouldn't waste an investigation on clearing me just because you had a problem with me. To me, it was a move to control the PO's investigation, something I don't approve of in the first place.

The first part may be accurate, but she really has been playing scummy. You can dress it up as not wanting to take the game seriously, but that doesn't help town either. The last part's not exactly right; it's more "irrationally defend her, when you OUGHT not to know her alignment, and I'll accuse you of defending a scum buddy!" Because really, the only case for defending someone irrationally is that you know their role, and only PO's, masons, and mafia know other people's roles.

Now, for my reasoning. I know it's pulling back into day 1, but that's where I see most of the actual "mafia" game happening (Before all the cancerous, herpes infected beauty pangeants). He put the fifth vote on the original Fenris bandwagon in day 1. I don't care how wacky day 1 is. By three to four votes, someone should start to question what the hell was going on with such a fast bandwagon (someone did briefly mention it, Cephrir, who then dismissed it to vote DemonLink). This vote could be swayed by other convincing evidence or something.

I'm not trying to prove scum or innocence at the moment, this is just an honest question I've been wondering for a couple of mafia games:

Why is a low post count seen as scummy? I've seen similar arguments to the above made in the past and I wasn't sure then either. (Understandably, a sudden change from lurking to posting brought on by needing to defend oneself is an interesting point to bring up, but I digress.)

Vanilla townies don't have night-roles, right? So, theoretically, any character that does have a night-role has double the actions of a townie. (day voting as a townie/pretending to vote as a townie; night killing/defending/investigating/etc.) I would assume that due to the level of participation required (albeit by PM and not post) players with roles are likely to participate more actively. They have that second reminder that they're playing during the night too.

A mafiate could theoretically post less as a method of not giving any information to be used against them, but then a town or town-aligned role has nothing to hide and therefor might see no reason to post things (beyond the odd vote) that make them sound innocent.

A lot of this relies on trying to guess the player's mentalities, which differ enough that I'm not seeing a consistent way to determine if lurking is bad. I do however, agree that lurking so much that you miss entire day sequences is bad from a gameplay standpoint. Players should play the game they sign up for, and if they can't they should say so.

If we do come to an agreement regarding voting for Rhiya (still not sure if my vote counts, she needs to confirm quitting or staying), I think we should get rid of some inactive players to shrink the playing field some. If it jolts other inactive people into realizing they're in a game, that's good too.

I consider it scummy because it could be a case of someone trying to fly under the radar. In addition (or for example, depending on how you look at it), if someone doesn't post much (or heck, at all), you don't have any actual clues to work out their alignment. Since people generally focus on the players that are active when trying to pick people to vote off, the low (or no) post count players can get off scot-free for quite awhile.
