So, it's 10:15 my time, and I still have 900 words to write in my National History Day paper. It's an interesting topic, but I'm feeling drained, and it's all made worse by my teacher wanting these of Friday, when the contest isn't until the sixth. And, of course, I can't finish this tomorrow night because I have a show that night.
Well, misery loves company, so I wondered if any of you have had to deal with the horror that is NHD?

No, but after being back in classes for a little over a week, I'm roughly a week behind in each of my classes. I've accomplished alot though. I learned how to play with link in Smash Bros.

That's a valuable skill. He's one of the better characters, and I'm sure the professional video gaming industry pays better than, say, a job an English degree will get you.

I don't even know what National History Day is.
What I do know is, that this week I have been to a lecture only once. The topic was "Animal nutrition". The rest I've been reading at home at my own pace. I'm still kind of bugged by the fact that I'm quite lazy though.

When I clicked this thread I thought it would be something reminiscent to this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/north_west/7360871.stm), but attacking festivities or something.
Arwel Wynne Hughes, 27, from Holyhead, Anglesey, admitted assaulting Barney Jones and cousin Michael with a metal crutch. They suffered minor injuries.
Hughes, who was drunk and dressed in a black bin bag, shouted "Darth Vader!"
I was hugely dissapointed.

I've not heard of National History Day either. If learning about it makes you have to write papers, please don't explain.

Shouldn't we all be learning about history every day? Now excuse me, I have to get back to my miniature-scale model of the Lusitania I'm constructing out of toothpicks.

No, and I miss school. Adulthood and adult responsibilities suck.
ETA: Remember, Wikipedia is still not considered a valid resource.

Wow, so many levels of bullshit in this post.
I mean, Link is #15 (out of 26) in SSBM and #34 (out of 37) in SSBB. He is nowhere near good, unless you start pulling out Aniki like shit.

I had to go through History Day once. Made the mistake of choosing the individual performance on the creation and impact of television. Luckily, I was friends with my teacher and he let me drop out of the competition. NOBODY chose the individual performance, so I was automatically in for state, and I just didn't want to deal with the BS. For all I know, I might have gone to regionals or further, and there just wasn't time, money, or inclination on my part to continue.
I hated doing it.
Luckily, the second time around, I got the one teacher in the school who didn't make her students do it. We still had a pretty big project, but at least it wasn't History Day.

I have heard of this, but I don't know what it entails, because when I hear history I usually start walking the other direction. I do however feel your pain about the essay writing.

I think there is a flaw in this rating system if capabilities != rank. I thought that was teh whole point.

Technically, tier lists are about the metagame. That's why Metaknight is rated as so broken. He's not very strong, but he can chain hits easily. Likewise, Ness is ranked very low because he can be juggled on the edge. He's otherwise a very powerful character.
