How many animes are there out there that have vampires? I watched the first episode of Chibi Vampire today, but I am not sure how long I will be able to stand the puppet. Has anyone seen that show? Does anyone know of any other good animes with vamps?

You mean Karin? It's a rom-com that has an interesting take on the concept of vampirism, in my opinion. Of course, I tend to avoid vampire shows like the plague, so take that as you will.
Hellsing is, in my opinion, the best vampire anime. Period. Blood: The Last Vampire is a good movie, but it leaves a lot of questions. Blood+ answers those questions, but isn't as good.

My sister was freaking obsessed with Blood+ for a while; I couldn't remember the title. She seriously sat on the computer for hours watching that show.

I thought Blood+ was pretty good, it had some weak points (The Schiff) but it was still better than most anime, and I liked the atmosphere it had to it. "Meh" characters and an underwhelming ending, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

In terms of movies, Vampire Hunter D is a classic, but the sequel, VHD: Bloodlust, is much better, in my opinion. You don't need to really watch one to be able to enjoy the other, but Bloodlust is ironically less adult in pretty much every way, where the original is kind of gory and has a good share of sex in the dialogue that doesn't really add to anything.
Edit: Actually, I lied a bit. The original reveals that D is actually the son of Dracula, where Bloodlust only makes a a few references to it without actually saying it explicity, IIRC.

Yea it is abit odd you'd call it chibi vampire. Only the US manga is called that, in every other form, original manga and the anime in both nations is called Karin. Not sure why they changed it. It is a good series. Nice to see a japanese romantic comedy that has problems other then "I like person A but so does person X, Y, and Z".
Well the only other anime I can think of with vampires is Vampire Hunter D (DVD of which I lent out and never got back) which is good. Hellsing which is good in any form but best in manga and thus unlimited. And Blood, which honestly the movie and, you know I dont think it was ever re-dubbed because they spoke english as often as japanese in it. If so... Japanese do not do english well. In any case the voice acting was so poor I couldn't bare to watch it all
Actually, I thought there was an English dub for Blood. But yeah, definitely go with Hellsing. Fun and actiony, with interesting characters and NAZIS. You can't argue with vampire nazis. Nobody can.

Allow me to ramble to myself for a moment.
The only reason I can see for the name change is that Tokyo Pop thought "Chibi Vampire" would sound more Japanese to the Naruto set. Blood+ was ok, but I'm never going to watch the ending because I know it will ruin the series for me. There's just no good end for that show.
If you want a new vampire nime, you could try Rosario + Vampire or something like that. It's pretty much everything wrong with harem animes, though.

Rosario + Vampire, forgot about that one. And its one of my favorites. Good story once you get past the monster of the week setting that introduces most of the characters. Though yea, even for a harem shonen series, way too much fanservice. But its funny, and with alot of mythology. Mythology most anime ignores. Mermaids for example are beautiful women that get you to join them in the water, then peel and eat your flesh.
So yea slow starting, overloaded with fan service, but get past that and I think its good.

Concerning Vampires:
Vampire Knight (Shounen/Shoujo)
Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~ (Terrible gag comedy)
Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate (Pure awesome)
Blood+/Last Vampire (Quite good)
Vampire Princess Miyu (Average)
Trinity Blood (Was almost good but then the writer died and so the show ends abruptly)
Have A/some Vampires:
Negima (Both versions)
D.Gray Man
To Aru Majustu no Index
Renkin San-Kyuu Magical Pokaan
Black Bloodbrothers is a vampire series that's main character emulates Vampire Hunter D semi-well. Also as a vampiric vampire slayer thing, he does his job pretty well. The series is short (12ish episodes) and very well paced in the way of action and story.

Yeah, avoid Trinity Blood, I think they were planning some sort of second season before the writer died so it's really just a big disappointment as it is, even with Knights Templar equipped with rocket packs and techno-maces...okay, maybe it's worth a look at some of the designs or something.

Tsukihime
It's only 11 episodes, and it might be slightly confusing if you don't already know the Tsukihime (H-game) story.

Jesus how did I forget Tsukihime?
Also a laugh and a half if Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase. It is a bit Shinbo-ey, but that's a small issue.

if you know where to get a 100% translation of the game let me know. I've been holding off on the anime until then. Learned my lesson from Fate/Stay Night
[edit] I mean the patch to translate, I have the game

I am comfertable enough in my masculinity to admit that the opening to that anime is the most adorable thing I had ever seen. I often use it to distract fangirls
Tsukihime
If Visual Novels are in too, I reccomend it's Let's Play (http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Tsukihime/) .
