View Full Version : Gaging Interest: Chat room D&D

Ape Boy

I have had a monster-itch to play D&D again. Some of the most fun I had on the internet was playing a capaign with a couple buddies from another forum, one being OctoberRaven on here.

It's been about 3-4 years since I've had the chance to play, and I'd like to try to get a game up and running. We'd meet in an mIRC chatroom once a week, use a dice-roller program that is hella efficient, and play some 3.5, because those are the book sets I have.

I'm no good at being a DM, so we'd need one of those, and we'd have to get interest and find a day everyone could get together. However, right now I'm just seeing if there'd be enough people interested to get a game going.

So, any takers? I really do mean I've been starving to play some ChatD&D again, I've just reread all 600+ strips of Order of the Stick just to hold it off some.

The Argent Lord
02-20-2009, 12:06 AM
Well, apparently interest is low, but I'd play if someone would DM. I'd offer to DM, actually, but I'm already doing a RL campaign.

Ape Boy
02-25-2009, 09:18 PM
Yeah, no kidding.

As much as I'd love too, I don't think it'd be a great game with just me and you, 'Gent!

Let's see if we can't get a couple more people to commit.

Well, I'll put up interest nay sayers be damned, chat room DnD is fun, and is a much more loose envrioment for people to get along in. *stamps my 5 star approval on this thread*

Professor Smarmiarty

Since moving to Scotland I haven't been able to play.
I'm normally DM and could do it but I've never played online before so I don't know how different it wouldbe.

FF fanboy
03-01-2009, 11:41 AM
It's actually not that much different. You just have to be much more rules knowledgeable if you want the game to move smoothly, and planning becomes easier as the games tend to move MUCH slower then RL games.
Also, there is a SMALL problem with people disapearing randomly during these without reason in my experiance.
((My attempt at explaining things.))

We've used mIRC to great effect before, including a Dicebot program build by one of our players that made things incredibly convenient. Everything was rolled in room with a simple text command, including rolling up multiple sets of stat rolls in seconds.

People can PM the DM for questions, checks, and whatnot, so that is very handy. The only real troubles are:

1) Finding times when everyone can get together

2) The physical layout/terrain

The second one simply means the DM will have to write in a lot of flat terrain and very little structures in rooms, or be prepared to say "you can't do that, because of so-and-so" a lot.

The Argent Lord
03-05-2009, 08:58 PM
There's also a program called Maptool (http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=maptool) that does the same thing, and adds support for a map and movable tokens. I've used it before as a player and it worked very well. I don't know about the DM's end.

Gobi
03-06-2009, 05:18 PM
Ape, I sent you a message. This sounds awesome. It's been quite a while since I've been able to play D&D myself. Would by my first time partaking in an online chat session, but am totally open to the idea. As is a buddy of mine.

Ape Boy
03-07-2009, 12:45 AM
Sweet! We're starting to get some people interested, so this may have legs.

What sort of days/times are people available?

NMR
03-07-2009, 01:57 AM
I'll throw some interest in the thread. I've been itching for some DnD for some time now.

On times I'll be available, mostly nights and weekends. In Eastern time that is. I'll let the DM know beforehand if I cannot make something.

Gobi
03-07-2009, 02:04 AM
Pretty much mostly during the week If at all possible. Weekends could definately be arranged if the case calls for it. Me and my buddy would be fairly flexible in meeting up times.

The Argent Lord
03-07-2009, 01:22 PM
I'm generally available in the evening/night hours during the week, but weekends are pretty much random. This will change during the summer, though, assuming this lasts that long.

Ape Boy
03-09-2009, 03:26 PM
I'm good for most nights, any day. I'd try to change my schedule at work to make the time.

Professor Smarmiarty
03-09-2009, 04:33 PM
I'm in Scotland at the moment so at GMT exactly, though I move around a bit.
My schedule is pretty openended normally though currentely working 9-5 cause working with other people. Nights would be best for me but may rule me out due to your timezones.

Ape Boy
03-09-2009, 04:51 PM
How far ahead are you from Eastern Standard Time? 6 hours?

Gobi
03-13-2009, 10:09 AM
Just curious, but what kind of a timeline are we looking at for this too?

Ape Boy
03-15-2009, 01:36 AM
How do you mean, Gob? How long the game lasts?

I guess until we all get tired of showing or the GM runs out of material.

Gobi
03-15-2009, 07:09 PM
Sorry, I meant like when are we planning on getting this show on the road? Do we have a dm? Enough players?

Professor Smarmiarty
03-15-2009, 07:20 PM
I'm 5 hours ahead of EST

Ape Boy
03-15-2009, 10:43 PM
We're still looking into things, I guess.

Alright, what does everyone's schedule look like Thursday or Sunday night?

Gobi
03-16-2009, 09:52 AM
Both for me are good. I usually have hockey on mondays and wednesday and work saturday nights, so I'm essentially in the clear!

The Argent Lord
03-16-2009, 07:29 PM
Thursdays are much better for me than Sundays.

Rhiya Ravenwing
03-17-2009, 05:49 AM
I'd like to express interest in this endeavour at DnD. However, I live in australia (according to GMT, it's +10:00 onto it, or 16 hours ahead of american people). Would that pose a bit of a problem in me joining, or would you prefer more stable players?

Professor Smarmiarty
03-17-2009, 06:16 AM
I'm usually fre Thursdays

Ape Boy
03-17-2009, 12:36 PM
Rhiya, I'd have no problem with you playing, as long as you can make it work for your time frame. For instance, if we started at say 7 PM, it would be 11 AM your time.

Would you be able to swing that?

So is everyone specifically cool for this Thursday, as in two days from now, around 7 PM? If nothing else, we'll see how many people show up, select our DM, and pre-game some.

The Argent Lord
03-17-2009, 02:30 PM
I am, yes. How are we gonna do this? IRC, MapTool, something else entirely?

Ape Boy
03-17-2009, 03:53 PM
I have experience with mIRC, but tell me about MapTool. As long as it's easy to access and can roll dice in the actual room (so there's no having to switch between windows to roll and no temptation to cheat), I'd be cool with it.

The Argent Lord
03-17-2009, 10:11 PM
Well, I linked it on the first page, but here it is again: http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=maptool It's a program specifically designed for roleplaying. It lets you make and edit maps and place tokens to represent enemies, players and such, with permissions control so only a player can move his token and so forth. As for dice, it has functions both to roll publicly or so only the GM sees, and players and GMs can set up macros for frequently used rolls. That's about all I know of it, since I only used it as a player, but it seems like it would be a good choice.

Gobi
03-17-2009, 10:14 PM
This will actually be my first chat-room d&d experience. As well as my buddies. The more pertinent information we put here prior to starting on Thursday, the better. Are we rolling chars in room? Previously? That kinda info would be fan-freakin-tastic!

The Argent Lord
03-17-2009, 10:37 PM
Well, since we don't have a DM yet, we don't really know what's going on with levels, houserules, books allowed, etc. Possibly what we do first session is just work everything like that out and do some initial RP, and then everyone rolls characters up and gets them approved before the next session.

Rhiya Ravenwing
03-18-2009, 01:02 AM
For instance, if we started at say 7 PM, it would be 11 AM your time.

Would you be able to swing that?

Hmm, probably not. I have uni classes 'n' educamational shenanigans going on then. I'll pass on this game.

Ape Boy
03-18-2009, 04:38 AM
Bollocks! You can skip University classes once a week!

I did, at least! Have my degree and everything! ;)

RE: Gobi

What Argent said. First sessions will just be to get the groundworks of the game set up. All rolls will be done in the actual session.

I'll check out Maptools in the meantime and see if it's along the lines of what I'm thinking.

Anyone who thinks they can DM, come up with some ideas you'd like us to play. We'll pick on Thursday, if there's multiples wanting to DM or different scenarios.

All I know is that I call Halfling/Rogue-or-Ranger

Ape Boy
03-18-2009, 05:43 AM
I played around a little bit with Maptool, and I'm not sure how it will do. Is it simple enough for all of us to get into the same room?

I also didn't see an application for dice to be rolled within Maptool. I launched the Dicetool, but it opened seperately, which opens up for fudging rolls and it seemed a little unwieldy for things like rolling stats.

Just posting my initial concerns, only spent around ten minutes on it. Basically to give Argent a chance to show me how things work, how to get them to work, or if they can do what we're looking for.

FF fanboy
03-18-2009, 06:48 AM
Well, it does have a dice mechanic, but if its really nessescary we can use www.Invisiblecastle.com for our dice rolls if we want a alternative medium.
The only problem is, we will be needing a different method of making maps as well.

Gobi
03-18-2009, 09:15 AM
All I know is that I call Halfling/Rogue-or-Ranger

... you bastard.

Professor Smarmiarty
03-18-2009, 09:43 AM
I call velociraptor bard.

Red Mage Black
03-18-2009, 01:38 PM
Hmmm... is this game still joinable?

Ape Boy
03-18-2009, 01:51 PM
Absolutely. Even after the game starts, I think we'd be willing to add characters in progress!

I'm currently working out how to get things started in mIRC, so we could have the first meeting in there or in Maptool. We'll figure it out by tomorrow.

Whomper
03-18-2009, 01:56 PM
EDIT: Nevermind, can't make the time, and somehow I completely glazed over the part where RPTools was already linked. @_@;

Red Mage Black
03-18-2009, 02:34 PM
I have a few ideas in mind for characters, but I'm unsure of what house rules you have or what books you're banning.

Ape Boy
03-18-2009, 03:03 PM
Well, the only guideline so far is books are 3.5 only. The first meeting is where we'll pick a DM, who will then choose what they would like to use and set the rules.

No limit on people, just show up Thursday 7 PM EST.

Gobi
03-18-2009, 03:52 PM
So we're obviously doing the first session through mIRC... What server? What channel?

Professor Smarmiarty
03-18-2009, 05:03 PM
I can't make it tommorow as we've got a big dinner/boozefest on but in general I should be ok.
If it turns out tommorow that no one willing to DM I'm more than willing to and have done so in the past but if someone wants to do it that's fine. I happy just to play and will mean you guys don't have to work around my crazy schedule.

The Argent Lord
03-18-2009, 08:31 PM
Sorry, was gone all day. In the chatbox, you do rolls with brackets. [1d6+4], etc. At least that's how I remember it. And the only difficulty with getting people in a room together is that one person needs to host. Then everyone plugs the IP into the program and it'll connect them.

Gobi
03-18-2009, 11:38 PM
so the chatbox in maptools I'm assuming?

Ape Boy
03-19-2009, 02:21 AM
Download both. At some point, we'll jump between the two and see what we like better.

Who wants to host the room for Maptool? Argent?

The Argent Lord
03-19-2009, 04:32 AM
Okay, so I have a fun idea for a game, that actually might work better on IRC, because we would quite possibly need to have characters in other places doing things without the rest of the party knowing what's going on. Does IRC allow for private messages/conversations, because that would also be helpful.

Ape Boy
03-19-2009, 05:22 AM
Yeah, IRC does private conversations incredibly easily.

The Argent Lord
03-19-2009, 12:18 PM
Awesome, I may end up DMing and using that, then, if nobody else wants to. I am running a RL game too, so I'll definitely give someone else the chance if they want to, though.

Professor Smarmiarty
03-19-2009, 12:57 PM
Will you let me run a velociraptor bard who also has levels in Aristocrat. He's a noble dinosaur.

Red Mage Black
03-19-2009, 01:20 PM
You're willing to mix PC and NPC classes? Brave guy. What would the starting level be anyway? Cause I have a major idea for a character now.

The Argent Lord
03-19-2009, 02:12 PM
Not sure about the starting level. Like I said, I don't even know if I'll be running it yet, and if I do, some players may or may not receive guidance from me about what to do with their characters. No, it's not as intrusive as it sounds.

Ape Boy
03-19-2009, 02:19 PM
It seems like Argent is emerging as the likely DM, so we're going to start in mIRC and see if we need to jump to the other one.

I'm going to try to get a hold of Dicebot.

I'll post the server and how to join here soon.

Gobi
03-19-2009, 02:19 PM
Wow, it sounds like you guys are putting a lot more thought and ... (for lack of a better word) wierdness into this than I am. I'm just being a regular old single class. Normal race.

Just to reiterate, we are meeting up in less than 4 hours!

Ape Boy
03-19-2009, 02:45 PM
Yes.

I haven't used mIRC in forever and have forgotten everything I used to know about it.

Would someone create the room and post on here how to join?

Red Mage Black
03-19-2009, 02:51 PM
I have a room if anyone is interested.

Port: 6667
server: irc.lunarnet.org
channel: #dnd35e

EDIT:
For those without an IRC client you can try Mibbit and it works just as well.

Gobi
03-19-2009, 03:06 PM
For those unfamiliar...

When you're ready to go, type:

"/server irc.lunarnet.org"
"/join #dnd35e"

The Argent Lord
03-19-2009, 03:14 PM
Ah. I just plugged it into the little window thing that popped up.
Then the other window thing that popped up.
So yeah...

Ape Boy
03-19-2009, 04:54 PM
The only thing now is going to be trying to get ahold of one of my old buddies and getting Dicebot from them

I really wish OctoberRaven would check his PM's!

Ape Boy
03-20-2009, 12:33 AM
Actually had a decent turnout tonight, and I'm looking forward to the game now!

Argent is DM'ing. Everyone is starting at lvl 10 (49k in gold, 45k EXP) with a 32-point Stat Buy.

I'm going Rogue/Fighter, Gobi is a Barbarian/Fighter, I believe RMB is a Warlock, and Redmagus is playing Cleric.

I'll post what my schedule is moving forward once I figure it out! We're ready for Smarty to join in and we'll take anyone else who wants to play, too!

Professor Smarmiarty
03-20-2009, 10:44 AM
I'll have a character worked out over the weekend. I'm going to be a bard though. Bards are awesome.
Also Easymath is the greatest spell ever.

Red Mage Black
03-20-2009, 12:30 PM
Still trying to decide the best possible class. Warlock is going to be your worse nightmare, Argent.

Gobi
03-20-2009, 03:05 PM
You're certainly putting an awful lot of thought into this.

Ape Boy
03-22-2009, 03:53 AM
I got a hold of my buddy and will be getting Dicebot from him soon.

You guys will see why I love the damn thing so much! Seriously, I'm going to talk Gent into letting us try and roll stats again ;)

Also, I have freed up Thursday Nights. If that's cool with everyone, that will be our regular game night.

Gobi
03-22-2009, 06:27 PM
Thursdays are great for me and my buddy too. Perfect

The Argent Lord
03-24-2009, 02:36 PM
Yep. Thursdays are probably the best day for me to do it.

Ape Boy
03-25-2009, 04:09 AM
Would you guys be able to show up around 6:00-6:30 this week, just to play around with Dicebot and get everyone used to it?

Gobi
03-25-2009, 08:18 PM
I don't get off work until 630 your time. So earliest I can be on is 700.

The Argent Lord
03-25-2009, 09:15 PM
I could possibly be around then. I warn you guys, this may be a bit unorganized as I've been swamped with work and had little time to plan.

Ape Boy
03-25-2009, 09:55 PM
No big deal, hopefully we'll have my buddy Creon and Smarty join us, so we can spend time getting them and everyone else acquainted.

Ape Boy
03-26-2009, 03:37 PM
Do we use the same information for servers/rooms to get into game this week?

We may switch over to a different room once if I can get ahold of my bud, but that's later. Start in the same room? Is someone hosting?

The Argent Lord
03-26-2009, 03:48 PM
Okay, so I actually wound up with absolutely zero planning time. This'll be fun. I'm gonna start hanging out in the room we used last time as of now.

Gobi
03-27-2009, 01:37 PM
Meh, we were still char building AND 2 ppl didn't show up so... You got time :D

Ape Boy
03-27-2009, 03:22 PM
YEAH, SMB & RMB, where did you guys go?

Ape Boy
03-31-2009, 03:13 AM
So, who can we expect to be there this week?

Normal people?

SMB, RMB?

Gobi
03-31-2009, 10:41 AM
I'll be there. Magus will be there.

The Argent Lord
03-31-2009, 04:40 PM
I will, obviously, be there.

Red Mage Black
03-31-2009, 06:16 PM
I lost net for a few days. I SHOULD be there.

Ape Boy
04-02-2009, 12:05 PM
Alright gang, I may have to join the game in progress this week. I have a friend shipping off to the Navy soon, so we're going to try and have dinner or something.

I WILL be there this week, though.

Good news, though, my friend has Dicebot hosted in the room!

To use it, type "!roll[# of dice] [sides] [modifier]". For example, if I wanted to make a damage roll with a +2 strength mod roll for myself, I would type "!roll2 6 2". It would then give me a result. The whole thing looks like this:

<Apes> !roll2 6 2
<@Creon^Bot> Apes rolled 2 6 sided dice with modifier 2 for [ 11 ]

I'll be in game at 9 at the latest! See ya gang!

The Argent Lord
04-02-2009, 03:08 PM
Actually, change of plans. I won't actually be able to run this tonight, I'm going home early for the weekend, and I'm not taking my computer with me. Sorry, my plans changed kinda last-minute.

Ape Boy
04-02-2009, 07:41 PM
Meh, it happens. We'll figure out something and try to get everyone in for next week!

Told you the hardest thing about net games is getting everyone together!

arcanaman
04-05-2009, 01:54 PM
Can I play? I have been playing 3.5 for seven years and this would be my first chat room experience sounds like fun.

Ape Boy
04-05-2009, 09:08 PM
Sure. 32-point stat-buy, write up a character sheet on Myth-Weavers. Send a PM to Argent Lord when you have a character idea, to make sure it's ok.

Starting level 10 (45k EXP) and starting with 49k gp.

Game is Thursdays at 7 PM EST, hopefully we can get everyone together to start this week. Log-on information is on page 6.

We could probably use a caster or a ranged specialist. I'm a two-weapon fighting halfling rogue, we have a tank, and a cleric, I believe.

arcanaman
04-06-2009, 03:42 AM
Okay so i made a cool sorcerer for the group and i PM'ed it to argent then i went back to page 6 of this to find out how to connect and i was thankfully able to figure out everything and found my way into the server.

BTW; my sorcerer i made is more of a resource tool for the party http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=118577
If this dosnt work for you i have no problem rolling up another character... making dnd characters is a hobby of mine...The idea of a Custom arcane sniper tickle your fancy? Weapon Focus (Ray) for the win ^.^

Okay i was up all night making this one http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=118611

... One thing about this is that I picked permanancy spell in hopes of using it on mage armor and sheild but i need Argents permission for it, since its not listed in the permanancy spell list... but if not ill just tweek my spell list a little

also... i was getting confused with what stacks, i was reading the spells sheild and mage armor and looking at the bracers of protection thinking... ehhh whats stacks here what dosnt, Sheild i beleive is deflection bonus and so is bracers of protection... do deflection bonusus stack?

The Argent Lord
04-06-2009, 11:07 AM
No named bonuses stack, as far as I know. So that would mean deflection bonuses do not. As to permanency, wouldn't you be giving up XP to use it, and this knocking yourself down a level?

arcanaman
04-06-2009, 11:47 AM
Well A permanant force armor and sheild is somthing to give up a little experience for you know? lol but since the bonuses dont stack ill just rework my spells a little to fit the bill on that particular character... still...22 AC not to shabby for a sorcerer... and with mage armor (taking up the armor slot, not deflection) 26 AC with some respectable HP id say it is a Combat Caster

Okay so i decided to go with the Arcane marksman...big suprise...hehe... anyway I was wondering if i could you my spell compedium. I am going with a (RAY) themed character and the rays seems to disapear after 3rd lvl mind if i dip into it... 3.5 pretty sure ...spell compedium for some "specificly" Ray spells?

Side note...omg lol I found a hillariously cool spell in this book called bloodstar... it summons a contruct (a small ruby) that floats above your enemy and every time your enemy takes dmg from a source it makes a save vs taking 1 con dmg.... +magic missile... 5 rays 5 sources :)

The Argent Lord
04-06-2009, 12:38 PM
Yep, pretty much any 3.5 is okay.

arcanaman
04-06-2009, 02:19 PM
Okay, boy oh boy that took foreeever... but im quite proud of my selection... good list only thing im lacking is AoE spells...Argent there is 1 more thing i need your go ahead on... the spell bloodstar states"Any creature you initially designate within 10 ft. of the bloodstar that takes damage from any source must must make saving throw. on a failed save, the victom takes 1 point of constitution damage. each time victoms are damaged, they can attempt new saves.

So would that "Source" be the casting the the spell itself such at casting magic missile or scorching ray or would it be the induvidual rays themselves

The Argent Lord
04-06-2009, 04:09 PM
I think one spell is one source, regardless of the number of hits. I'm not positive, though, so if anyone knows differently, feel free to correct me.

arcanaman
04-06-2009, 04:52 PM
We could probably use a caster or a ranged specialist. I'm a two-weapon fighting halfling rogue, we have a tank, and a cleric, I believe.

I brought both!

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=118611

I have got to say this is one balanced party..................../Edited 4 hours later.... OMG im all hyped up on caffine didnt sleep last night... where is everyone 0.0 humanahumanahumanahumanahumana.

Ape Boy
04-09-2009, 07:00 AM
So, are we going to be able to get everyone together this week?

Game starts at 7PM EST!

Gobi
04-09-2009, 09:44 AM
I'm sure hoping so tonight...

arcanaman
04-09-2009, 03:38 PM
Im counting down the hours. cant wait

The Argent Lord
04-09-2009, 06:17 PM
Speaking of not waiting... where be ye?

Ape Boy
04-09-2009, 06:17 PM
Game is on, kids!

arcanaman
04-09-2009, 08:00 PM
Okay... so my first mistake was not noticing that it was at 7 pm....eastern time... im pacific... /wrist...... and now i cant find how to get in the server... that program is confusing

Ape Boy
04-13-2009, 11:41 PM
I'm going to be out of town on Thursday, so no game for me this week, unfortunately.

Feel free to carry on without me and I'll rejoin next week! Jal could even run my character for me! He has my sheet and my only battle tactic is "Run forward and stab"!

The Argent Lord
04-15-2009, 04:06 AM
Actually, I'm pulling an all-nighter at the moment. This means my sleep schedule will be fucked up for at the very least tomorrow... today?... Wednesday, and likely Thursday as well. So probably not up for running the game anyway. Really sorry, guys, I promise I'll work on making the next session awesome, to the best of my ability.

Ape Boy
04-23-2009, 01:44 AM
So, I'm going to show up tonight!

Anyone else going to be there at 7PM EST?

arcanaman
04-23-2009, 08:46 AM
I'll be there... on time too!... how about our DM?

<_< >_> I've been too swamped with finals stuff to even think about planning. I can see if I can connect from Trillian at home, and if so I can ad-lib like I had been doing. If not I may have to call it off again.

Gobi
04-23-2009, 03:17 PM
Well, we It's up to you DM. Not mean to push but, would like a little heads up if we are or aren't doing it before I rush home.

The Argent Lord
04-23-2009, 03:24 PM
Here's the deal. I can get on from my Trillian here, I tested. And I'd feel really bad not running it two weeks in a row. So let's say it's a go. I may be slightly late, but unless it for some reason fails to work there, I'll be on when I can.

Ape Boy
04-23-2009, 04:21 PM
Well, if you have real life things to take care of, take care of them. Whatever you're feeling bad about, put it into the planning for next week's game and come up with a good one, instead of just trying to pull one out of your ass cause you feel guilty.

I'm not bothered, I'll play this week & next, or whenever, just if you've got other things going on and don't have a plan going, it may be better to wait.

Your call, though! I'm up for whatever!

The Argent Lord
04-23-2009, 04:28 PM
Nah, classes are done for the week, so I have a few days to breathe. I just don't know if I'll be home and on the computer at precisely 7. I have no problem running it, I'll just have to build plans on the fly as opposed to working them out beforehand. I'm not terrible at that.

Ape Boy
04-23-2009, 04:47 PM
Alrighty then.

GAME ON!

The Argent Lord
04-27-2009, 02:43 PM
Okay, my Thursday exam is in the morning, so I should definitely be able to run it this week. And by definitely I mean if something ridiculous doesn't happen like me forgetting a huge paper or something. Which probably won't happen.

By the way... those tigers we fought before... were they taking steroids? cus they f'ing hurt i practicly got 1 shot... i barely got a chance to show how cool my halfling is :)

Ape Boy
04-29-2009, 02:56 PM

The Argent Lord
04-29-2009, 06:07 PM
Yep, I'll be there.

Gobi
04-30-2009, 05:19 PM
Damn rights I'll be there.

Gobi
05-07-2009, 09:51 AM
I won't be there tonight (if it's happening). I got hockey right smack in the middle of it...

Ape Boy
05-07-2009, 11:19 AM
I'm actually on vacation this week, so yeah. Let's set our sights on next week.

The Argent Lord
05-07-2009, 11:50 AM
Sounds good. My computer's not set up yet, so we'd be working with Trillian again, anyways.

arcanaman
05-11-2009, 10:18 PM
Im going to drop from the party, sorry. But im gonna focus on other stuff. Bye:)

Doctor Awesome
05-12-2009, 08:46 PM
Well seeing as arcanaman dropped...Does that mean there's a slot open?

Ape Boy
05-13-2009, 10:24 PM
Heh, Arcana only showed up the once when we were actually playing, and one other time.

We'll add anyone else that wants to come along! More the merrier and whatnot!

I'm definitely in for tomorrow at 7 PM EST!

Doctor Awesome
05-13-2009, 10:47 PM
Well I'm west coast and get back out of school at three so I might be a little late, can one of ya'll explain how this works? I've only used web-based chatrroms before so what do I have to do?

Ape Boy
05-14-2009, 01:09 PM
Download mIRC. Once you get startup done, type this into the text field:

/server irc.lunarnet.org

Send it, and once you have joined the server, type and send this:

/join #dnd35e

That's it!

Gobi
05-14-2009, 02:12 PM
yea I'll be there.

Doctor Awesome
05-14-2009, 05:50 PM
Alrighty, I'm waiting, Names Zanrick

Gobi
05-14-2009, 07:14 PM
Where the f*** was everybody?

The Argent Lord
05-15-2009, 01:05 PM
Eh... sorry about that. I kinda was busy with other stuff and forgot. Won't happen again.

EDIT: Erp... It occurs to me that I'm working next Thursday. We could try to reschedule, though. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday are okay for me.

Gobi
05-19-2009, 10:55 AM
Unfortunately I can't reschedule. Thursdays are the only days that are available to me now. Maybe next week then?

Ape Boy
05-19-2009, 06:40 PM
Sorry about not being there, my monitor just about completely fell off my laptop, so it needed repairing.

Next week sounds good if you can't do this week, Gent. I'm available tomorrow, though.

Did you want to meet up with Dr.Awe and making sure he's caught up?

The Argent Lord
05-20-2009, 12:09 PM
Next week is fine, I'm working again the week after. I'll send Awesome a PM and make sure he has a character and stuff.

Gobi
05-21-2009, 09:40 AM
Actually, I can be there tonight. My schedule opened up quite nicely. So if we still want to and there's still people available, let's do it. Everybody ok with that? 7pm EST again?

Ape Boy
05-21-2009, 02:12 PM
Unfortunately, our DM is working tonight, so it's not looking like a good prospect!

The Argent Lord
05-25-2009, 02:44 PM
And now it appears my computer is without internet, so this week's not looking good, either. I'm really sorry for all the delays, guys.

Ape Boy
05-28-2009, 01:31 PM
1st rule of getting net games together: Shit happens.

We'll keep trying, and hopefully things free up and come together soon.

Ape Boy
06-10-2009, 07:30 PM
So, it looks like things have changed for me, and Thursdays are no longer good.

Sorry that it never seemed to get things off the ground for this game, because of one thing or another.

HOWEVER, I have a long time friend and experienced DM who's starting a chat game on Sunday nights, and if anyone from this attempt at a game wants to join, they are welcome. Starting at lvl 1, rolled using dice bot in the room.

We're still using mIRC, the server is sandwich.net, and the room is #dnd35e

Meet, greet & prep is this Sunday 6/14, with the campaign starting 6/21

What time Ape? I may try and show up.

Ape Boy
06-11-2009, 04:38 PM
I'm thinking probably 7PM or 8 PM, EST.

To roll stats, you must first type in and send "Official Stats", followed by "!stats 2", and you can select the best of the two results. If your total bonus is under 0 or you have no stats over 13-14, you can reroll that specific set.

You could also plead with the DM, and he may give you a reroll or additional pity points.

Ok, I can easly do 8:30 EST. I thinks thats 2 hrs behind central and I get off at 6 CST then. So I may be a bit late.

Ape Boy
06-12-2009, 06:01 PM
EST is one hour ahead of Central (CST). So if you're getting off at 6 CST, then you're getting off at 7 EST.

Hope you can find the time to be there!

Ape Boy

No prob, did you still want to play?

Rejected Again
06-16-2009, 08:31 PM
I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you together a fast char sheet. Your rolls just need to be done in from of the DM for stats. We are not meeting this week due to fathers day and are set to begin the following Sunday. Well, that's what I understood. Apey correct me if I'm wrong.

Ape Boy
06-16-2009, 09:15 PM
Sounds right to me so far.

There's actually a really good chance I just freed up my Sunday nights, so I may not miss any time at all.

Sorry we missed the first game, I forgot we had made plans previously and had to attend.

Ape Boy

'Salright, let Creon know and have your char ready to go this week.

Anyone else like to join in for Sundays at 7:30 EST?

I'm interested. I've been wanting some D&D hella bad these past coupla days, but I ain't got nobody to play it with. I haven't played in forev, so my skills are very rusty. Any rules or whatever I should know about?

I'm in the exact same boat if there's room for one more.
