Summary, Obama and his administration have taken to behavioral economics, the focus of which is how people spend money in irrational ways, rather than the traditional assumption that people are Vulcans. Thoughts on this?

Well as I am a consumer who is not a Vulcan, it's good to know that somone is finally trying to understand how I like to spend my money.

Don't have time for a long post right now, but I do have a few things I want to get out.

Firstly--This proves two things. Obama's smarter than most politicians, and he isn't evil. He's using his powers for an over all good, here. To get Americans to act more like civil and responsible people. Pretty awesome.

However, I really think this needs to have its limits. A lot of the ideas I agree with implicitly, like making 401ks your default option, but if someone tries to tax my fatty foods I will kill them. So hard.

It sounds sound enough; make the easy and smart choices the same. The only thing I have to complain about is that my economics education wouldn't be worth as much anymore.

The linked article is really lengthy, I think if this topic intends to go anywhere, we need some context and direction...

So basically, things liek cigarettes and booze will cost more. A lot more.

In fact, cigarettes just went up over a dollar/pack.
